The owner of the salon had the nerve to respond to my review by stating Lawrence V. Business Owner Thanks for your feedback, 4-5 years to satisfy you, 1 time mistake your appointments you choose the way to give bad review. No wonder the personnel have no knowledge of how to treat a customer with this response from the owner of the salon. Still taking no responsibility for the actions of his employees. Never taking accountability for the way I was treated or the fact that I was inconvenienced. An apology would have been the appropriate response instead of justifying the fact that they did not honor my appointment. In his eyes this was perfectly fine since this only happened once. This should have never happened period. He is obviously not a very astute businessman, because if he was he would not have responded to my review in this way. read more

Called for a last minute pedicure and was able to get an appointment in 30 minutes from then. Was seen as soon as I selected a color, Sophia was very attentive to detail. My toenails look like bright shiny jewels! An older man came in for a manicure and was seated - there was a bouquet of Happy Birthday balloons there for him! All the patrons were smiling when they saw him there. His daughter joined him soon after. Very sweet! read more

I have been coming here since 2019 and my nail tech here was Andy. We always had a great rapport. I'm very particular and he knew just what I liked. Andy was cool. He appreciated how easy going I was and would always thank me for being so kind considering he dealt with his share of nasty customers each day. He also liked that I allowed him to be creative and I loved that he could make my ideas come to life. I always booked the same appt time each visit (as recommend by Andy) b/c of my schedule. I would book 630pm if it were on a weekday where I wasn't off. This was never a problem until recently. My first bad interaction started a few months back when Andy didn't recognize me b/c I changed my hair and signature style. He was rude and nasty from the moment he welcomed me to his station. He was rough with me, nicked my hand with the drill and then barked at me to stay still. At that point I was over it and at that point he also recognized who i was since I'm always super finicky abt the drills. He apologized stating he didn't know who I was at first but I didn't understand what that had to do with him treating me with the respect I deserved as a paying customer. That was a one off incident so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but I didn't forget. Fast forward, a few moths ago I was told my nails take too long and my appts are too late and I keep them in the shop too long, I was told to find someone else at the shop to do my nails and if I was gonna come at the same time. I was told this as though the appt I booked hadn't been the same for yrs and like I was a walk-in rather than someone booking an available time slot. I was treated like I was doing something wrong for making an appt that was open in the books. This was all unprovoked, I had no issues leading up to this. It all just came out of left field. I was upset of course b/c I didn't understand what had happened all of a sudden but I didn't go back for months and a few weeks ago I got desperate and needed my nails done for an important event so I booked an early appt. From the time Andy saw me, he was rude. He treated me like he didn't want me there. He was rough and so I asked him what was up. I told him the last time I was there he virtually said "don't come back" and he responded saying "I did". He said "I don't want to do your nails anymore". Then he got agitated like he wanted to quit b/c I wanted answers. He said "you gonna keep talking or you want me to do your nails...this is my last time". I asked again, "how did we get from you're so kind...thanks for always being patient with me to don't come back". He then said "your nails are too difficult for me". Then I asked why not say that instead of treating me like I did something wrong". Later I found out that multiple people at the shop had done the same thing to their clients. It appears they are driving away certain customers on purpose. A young lady who use to go to Julie (also a nail tech there) saw my nails recently and asked had i been to the shop and I told her no. She then mentioned that Julie who she'd been going to for years told her out the blue not to come back. I guess we slow down the assembly line of custs too much. They have crunched the numbers and figured out they can make more with easy in and out designs vs spending and hr and a half on our designs. It just goes to show they could not care less abt their customers. the relationships are disingenuous. we are expendable vilified for being patrons b:c we are no longer useful to them. read more

My friend and I came day before Thanksgiving for a Pedi and gel polish, and dip. They were very busy but we were immediately greeted and then seated after 5-10 min wait (we have appointment). Service wise I think they try their best to make sure you have a good experience but their not very sanitiary or clean in my opinion. My pedicure I notice they use communal tools, the salt/sugar scrub was left open and everyone just use that on every one. The file that was used on me is definitely communal I can see it clearly used. The clipper that was used on me was just hanging on the basket and at the station when they did my toes and nails. My gel polish already chipped just 2 days after it was done. All in all I wouldn't come back due to the lack of sanitation here. Too many horror stories about getting infections on unsanitized tools and communal tools. read more

I made an appointment at Nails Allure for a SNS manicure because of the salon's excellent reviews on Yelp. This cozy salon is located in the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center and was easy to find. I arrived on time for my 4:30 appointment and was seen right away. Mary wrapped my nails with acetone in order to soak off the SNS color on my nails. Next, she moved me to the nail drying station while she attended to another customer. Mary came over to check on me after fifteen minutes. She apologized for the wait and kindly moved my coat and handbag to her station as she relocated me to do my manicure. Mary did a good job of painting and shaping my nails. I felt comfortable and relaxed the entire time. My appointment was on a Friday evening and the salon was understandably busy. The lady at the first station nearest the door wore several hats -- she painted nails, manned the telephone, and attended to customers as they entered and left the salon. I admired her honesty when she told a few walk-in customers that the salon was busy right now and that they should come back in an hour. Some salons rush through appointments in order to serve as many customers as possible. Thankfully this salon doesn't do that. Mary dried my nails under the heating lamp typically used for gel manicures. I considered this very atypical because SNS powder typically dries immediately without the use of a heat lamp. My experience at this salon was positive for the most part. Things I didn't like: 1) Three dollar upcharge for paying with a credit card; 2) insufficient cleaning of pedicure tubs. read more

THEY'RE BACK! Nails allure has been closed due to COVID-19 and today 3 months and some change later they opened with a bang. I unfortunately went else where to get my nails done and regretted it as soon as I left. I automatically booked an appointment with Andy and my mom saw Julie, two of the best there. Andy fixed what the other nail salon badly messed up, made my nails look brand new. My mom and I left feeling great and we also booked our next appointment. One thing I can say is regardless of the busy comeback and booked schedules they still made sure to make every client feel relaxed and comfortable. No rush, no hurry to take on the next person. Places like this are worth the wait. I'd recommend to anyone near or far This place is worth it; price, patience and humbleness. Nothing better around. This simple nail art & dipping power set was done by Julie Julie and many of the other cosmetologists at Nail Allure are very professional. Julie in particular is very knowledgable on the final color and finish of each of polishes, gels and SNS (dipping powders). She was very attentive to the shape that I wanted, overall style and the healthy of my nails. Since my first visit, I have no need- want or desire to get my nails done anywhere else. With the option of appointments or walk-ins, there is never really longer than a 5 minute wait!!! read more

I went to this place to get my prom nails done. The tips that were applied on my nails were in some shape upwards. It was mostly all of my nails but only 2 stood out completely. The shaping was fine. But I did ask to have the two nails fixed and they were fixed. I asked for a pale pink color and it ended out being tope, my left thumb was crooked too. As you can see in the photo of my set my pinky is lifted. read more

As a customer who has come to Nails allure for years now I have been nothing but pleased with the service here, with Andy to be more specific. I not only go myself but I have recommended him to others with every person having nothing but great things to say about him. Andy has been super pleasant, flexible and even understanding with what is asked of him during servicing. I have even witnessed when people have been ignorant (big Karen's) coming in late for their appointments knowing how booked he is, being condescending when THEY choose a color and don't like it, while Andy stayed understanding and attempted to fix a situation or become flexible to fit his customers. I will continue to go to him and recommend him. read more

I don't get my nails done too often so I'm not sure what's "normal" or amazing but I've been here a few times, and every time I love my nails! Each time I've had different techs, but they all do a great job! I only took a star because they are a little inconsistent. Maybe it is because I don't know what normally done, but one time I got hand paraffin waxed after my nails being done, this time I didn't. Sometimes my hand is washed before nail color it put on, this time I didn't so I felt like my hand was so messy with powder from filing my nail and other gunk. I've gotten a hand massaged after nails being done, this time I didn't. A little disappointing but my nails still look good at least! :) I had Andy this time as a tech and he was just amazing. So accommodating to make my nails pretty. My nails were so messed up. One fingernail was broken prettty low, and he offered to put some acrylic on it to keep it glued. I didn't know what was an option so I gladly accepted! Then I had another nail that was just really short because it broke, and he put a tip on it so it would be longer and match the rest of my nails. I showed him a picture that I wanted and he explained how it was tough to do with SNS powder, my first time doing powder too! So I told him if it couldn't be done then to keep it simple, but he's like how about I try it on one finger and then I can decide! Super nice that he offered! It isn't exactly how I wanted but I think it's still very pretty! For SNS powder with two color dip and regular pedicure with the 7% discount for paying in cash, $25 for the pedicure and $42 for the powder. read more

I used to love going here. That was until two days ago when I got acrylic nails filled in and gained a major infection. A few hours later after nail appointment, my fingers were extremely itchy. I relieved the itchiness by running it under cold water and putting on lotion. I went to bed later on and then was woken up because my hands fingers were so itchy. I turned on my light and my pinky and pointer finger looked like they were bubbling by the nail beds. It almost looked as though I was burned. I once again ran my hands under cold water and but lotion on. The pictures I have posted are what my hands look like now, two days after my appointment. It seems as though, this has happened because they do not use sterile and clean tools. I believe this to be the case 100% because when they were filing my nails, the nail filer had clearly been used multiple times. I didn't say nor think anything of it because I had always trusted this nail salon. Sad to say that I shouldn't have. This is the first time this has happened to me but I will not be going back here again. Save your nail beds and your fingers from infections. Go else where. read more

I have been coming to place since moving here in 2017 the last few times I've tried different nail techs and wasn't completely please but still continued and gave them the benefit of my doubt. However my last visit was the last straw. During my appointment Nina didn't tell me she had a brow appointment. Didn't even say I'll be right with you, nothing she just left me for 15 min to go do someone's brows not acknowledging my time I already waited for in the first place. That's not it. I also told her I wanted an almond shape which I normally do. She said "well next time you can't do coffin shape"I don't understand why not since it's a dip powder and I always add tips so why does the shape matter since you have fresh start everytime. She just didn't want to do it. There is zero consistency. I was a loyal customer and never got any rapport or thanks or personalization. It's like she was a zombie everytime. I used to continue because I liked my nails. But realized why bother when there is no appreciation for my regular support. No longer a fan of this place. read more

This was a team effort by Julie and Jenny but I've worked with many of their nail artists and they are all very meticulous and talented. I've always been happy with my nails here This was one of the most fun mani's I've done! I just showed them a photo of similar style I liked and let them take over. Always goes beyond my expectations! Even though walk-ins are allowed, be sure to call ahead to set up an appointment before stopping by. Especially because of COVID-19, the number of customers are very limited within the store. So you always wanna make sure that as soon as you get there, there will be someone who's ready to help you. When you get there, they will ask you to fill out the check in book and get your temperature checked (by staff), as soon as you walk in. If safe, you will be asked to wash your hands, then wait according to your time of appointment. Worry not, the best part is here; there are hand sanitizers on every single table! And the seats are set according to the safe distance guidelines. How cool is that!! All the staff are friendly and very understanding. They will look out for you. My nail technician, Ming, for example. He asked if I wanted him to cut the nails a bit shorter (for working with computers-typing on keyboards etc.), he remembered that I cut them myself before my previous appointment with him. And as always, he doesn't disappoint! read more

I was a pro nail tech for 20 years so I am extremely picky about my nails. I have been in MD for about 5 yrs now and have been to more nail salons than I can count and have always been disappointed and would never fo back. You would have to call them because they're always so busy. They don't have a designated front desk person who takes the phone calls. The nail techs themselves answers the phone to take appointments.

They do have dipping powder! Lots of colors from variety brands

Horrible Customer Service I have been a customer at Nails Allure for quite some time now, but I have finally reached my boiling point with their appalling customer service. I cannot express enough how disappointed I am with the way myself and others have been spoken to during my visits. Even if five minutes late to an appointment, they promptly cancel it without any consideration. To make matters worse, they expect you to wait for up to 15 minutes past the scheduled time, which is incredibly frustrating. On top of the abysmal service, Nails Allure is overpriced, making it even more difficult to justify the poor treatment. The staff members are consistently rude and lack basic courtesy towards their customers, especially Andi. It's disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism in a service-oriented business. If you're looking for a relaxing experience, I suggest you look elsewhere. Nails Allure seems to have forgotten that pampering and relaxation should be part of the nail salon experience. Instead, they've created an environment that feels more like a tension-filled battleground. In conclusion, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Nails Allure to anyone seeking a pleasant nail salon experience. The combination of their cancel-happy punctuality policy, overpriced services, and rude staff' make for an experience that is anything but enjoyable. If I had the option, I would give this place zero stars. I have never seen a smaller nail salon with all the luxury and offerings of a large well established salon as such I usually go to. It was close to my house and I didn't have much time to travel to mt usual salon. This one is a keeper! I never seen nails painted so Photoshop like. My nails looks like they came straight out from the magazine. The round of the nail polish at the cuticles are perfectly shaped. The massaging pedicure chairs were so comfortable, I almost went to sleep. Where I sat, there is a large 40-47 inch LED TV which was playing 'Maid in Manhattan'. I was told they play all kind of 'good' movies. I love the concept of watching a movie and getting my nails done. The only thing is TV volume is not on, only subtitles, which is great for other customer to relax listening to salon music. Waxing was fast as she was a PRO! Very pleased with everything about this beautiful salon. Prices are great and you do get a discount for paying cash; color selection is vast; cleanliness standards are of the highest; and such a very nice, helpful staff. I've been to Sue many times now; I chose Sue because I read reviews here stating how meticulous and GENTLE she is, and this is very true! Having movies play with subtitles-only (no sound) adds to the peaceful, tune-out-the-world atmosphere. I get gel manicures and regular pedicures. I love the paraffin wax, and love coming to see Sue! As a PS, I always make an appointment (just how my life is!), but I do hear people come in as walk-ins all the time and they're accommodated politely. I highly advise making an appointment if possible, or at least call before walking in, and ask if they can provide the services you want within the time/timeframe you need. read more

Monica has my undying devotion! She has never failed me and has a heart of gold, a true gem! She takes her time every time and is always game for my not so easy design ideas. She recently introduced me to the powder technique and my nails have never looked more natural. I hope she never quits because I, and my nails, would be lost without her! As for the pretentious Allison A who gave her a bad review, you admit to missing multiple appointments. Did you call and cancel the appointments so she had the opportunity to take another customer and not lose out an an hour's worth of money? Yes this place is under new MANAGEMENT! I been here about a year ago and it was old and just ok. I recently gave them a try again as they seem to be totally upgraded and the old staff are gone. They seem to have a new owner. Everything in this salon is NEW including the friendly staff and best of all my nails has never been more PERFECT! They have so many nail polish color to choose from. Just looking at the wall, it seems to be 2000+ I am very happy and will surely recommend everyone to my new 'go to' nail salon. Nails Allure, you ROCK!!!! WOW! New management has ready done a great job of renovating this place. New warm color on the walls. New manicure tables and chairs. The new pedicure chairs are gorgeous and the message from them are the best I have seen. This place is so clean and smells great! Service is still top notch. I am still getting the same mani/pedi every two weeks. I brought my friend Shela and she was impressed. She just found her new best nail tech here name Hanna. Out of all the nail salons that I have been to, this salon was the best experience I've ever had. It was my first time going and won't be my last. The staff made me feel very confortable, the enviroment was pleasent and so was the experience. The paraffin wax was the CHERRY ON TOP! This salon is wonderful! I originally stopped in to get a gel manicure removed. Julie, my technician, was so careful and caring in removing these nails that she is my go to technician from now on. The salon offers a parrafin wax at no extra charge, and offers their customers a bottle of water every time I am there. Their selection of opi polish is extensive, and they always use brand new equipment every time they do a person's nails or toes. They are a classy outfit! read more

The gel manicures that they do last several weeks. I usually see Julie - it is hard to find someone who knows how to help with overgrown toenails. Same thing, they took me to do the design on my big toe with acryllic paint and it looked bad :( so I just asked to take it off. At that point my expectations were crushed and now I paid full price for nails I never wanted. I was rushed out for another customer and I get it bc it was a waste of my time too. My nails don't look bad, but it's nothing like I imagined. Have low expectations and simple designs only if you choose to come here. Katie is the only one I would trust and she took great care of my mom. My mom and I had totally different experiences unfortunately

I just went with it because I was there for so long. She hit my toenail and messed it up. Instead of acknowledging what she did, she blamed it on me. All of the other customers had the arm of the chair put down for them and the massager turned on. My legs were shaking and she just kept pulling and pushing on me. She kept telling me that I bias messing everything up. My mom was confused. I kept telling the lady that I had to help my mom. Everyone around me heard me say it. She wouldn't let me get up to take care of her. They reuse the gloves when they do a customers nails. All they do is turn the gloves inside out. That is a major health code violation! I should report them! I will never go back here again!
