(4/5) I've been coming to Nails Allure for 3+ years now, and overall, it's one of the better nail salons I've tried. The biggest tip I can give: always book an appointment--the service is way better when you do. Jenny is amazing with designs (hands down the best!), and her partner Andy does the cleanest polish jobs. They're both super professional and clearly know what they're doing. I've had a few hiccups here and there--like once I paid $70 (plus $10 tip) just to get my nails taken off and filed. My nails ended up super brittle and honestly, it felt like a waste. I wouldn't recommend that service--just get them redone instead. Also, I've been cut before to the point of bleeding (not with Jenny or Andy, but another tech), so just a heads-up. That said, most of the staff here are really good: Sofia is gentle and cleans my nails better than anyone else, even Jenny sometimes. Hannah takes her time and does a great job--super patient and detail-oriented. Julie knows her stuff and is really steady with her work. I came to this salon with my two daughters for a fun afternoon. The manager refused my child service because my child shared information that her friend does designs for less money. Clearly the business does not understand how business works. My daughter had to sit and wait. No one from the front spoke to me. Clearly not friendly to moms and families. My girlfriend and I really enjoy this place for our manicures and pedicures. Rachel does an amazing job with the styles and being able to duplicate pictures being shown for requested styles. My experience here has been equally as pleasant while I get men's manicure and pedicure. All of the staff is friendly and helpful and the place is very clean with many options to choose from. Also easy to book an appointment by calling or scheduling ahead. They have everything set up nicely from the time that you enter with the nice receptionist to having a seat while you wait for a seat to get your nails done or a massage chair with foot tub for your feet. Rachel is one of the most requested from time to time as she does a great job consistently. Others are also great as well, making sure you enjoy your experience here. My girlfriend introduced me to this place and ever since it has become a staple of my routine to ensure I have healthy and good looking nails and toes. Jennie is my girl!! I've been a customer for about 2.5 years, always coming to Jennie or her husband Andy. Getting an appointment is very easy, and I've never had to wait on either of them (if i know I'm running a few minutes late Im sure to give them a call and they do accommodate). Sometimes working as a team, they get me in and out in 1.5 hrs or less but always take their time making sure I'm satisfied with every step of the process. They are very skilled in both shape and design, I love coming in and showing Jennie a picture I like and watching her make it come to life. Pricing is very fair with their skill set and how well each manicure holds up. I've had pedicures done by anyone that is available for the service and have been satisfied with everyone! No wonder the personnel have no knowledge of how to treat a customer with this response from the owner of the salon. Still taking no responsibility for the actions of his employees. I stumbled across Nails Allure en route home. I was very happy that I was greeted immediately after entering the salon and provided service after a short wait. I opted for a gel mani and pedi, both were performed by the same nail technician (this is a plus). Bella took her time and the results were to my liking. I throughly enjoyed that during my gel manicure I received cuticle removal care which seems to be lacking in most salons I visit - unless you receive a very basic manicure. Also, at the end of my manicure I was treated to a paraffin wax which was extremely enjoyable and left a great impression. Why not 5 stars? Called for a last minute pedicure and was able to get an appointment in 30 minutes from then. Was seen as soon as I selected a color, Sophia was very attentive to detail. My toenails look like bright shiny jewels! An older man came in for a manicure and was seated - there was a bouquet of Happy Birthday balloons there for him! My friend and I came day before Thanksgiving for a Pedi and gel polish, and dip. They were very busy but we were immediately greeted and then seated after 5-10 min wait (we have appointment). Service wise I think they try their best to make sure you have a good experience but their not very sanitiary or clean in my opinion. My pedicure I notice they use communal tools, the salt/sugar scrub was left open and everyone just use that on every one. The file that was used on me is definitely communal I can see it clearly used. The clipper that was used on me was just hanging on the basket and at the station when they did my toes and nails. My gel polish already chipped just 2 days after it was done. All in all I wouldn't come back due to the lack of sanitation here. Too many horror stories about getting infections on unsanitized tools and communal tools. read more

I went to this place to get my prom nails done. The tips that were applied on my nails were in some shape upwards. It was mostly all of my nails but only 2 stood out completely. The shaping was fine. But I did ask to have the two nails fixed and they were fixed. I asked for a pale pink color and it ended out being tope, my left thumb was crooked too. I have been coming here since 2019 and my nail tech here was Andy. We always had a great rapport. I'm very particular and he knew just what I liked. Andy was cool. He appreciated how easy going I was and would always thank me for being so kind considering he dealt with his share of nasty customers each day. He also liked that I allowed him to be creative and I loved that he could make my ideas come to life. I always booked the same appt time each visit (as recommend by Andy) b/c of my schedule. I would book 630pm if it were on a weekday where I wasn't off. This was never a problem until recently. My first bad interaction started a few months back when Andy didn't recognize me b/c I changed my hair and signature style. He was rude and nasty from the moment he welcomed me to his station. He was rough with me, nicked my hand with the drill and then barked at me to stay still. At that point I was over it and at that point he also recognized who i was since I'm always super finicky abt the drills. He apologized stating he didn't know who I was at first but I didn't understand what that had to do with him treating me with the respect I deserved as a paying customer. That was a one off incident so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but I didn't forget. Fast forward, a few moths ago I was told my nails take too long and my appts are too late and I keep them in the shop too long, I was told to find someone else at the shop to do my nails and if I was gonna come at the same time. I was told this as though the appt I booked hadn't been the same for yrs and like I was a walk-in rather than someone booking an available time slot. I was treated like I was doing something wrong for making an appt that was open in the books. This was all unprovoked, I had no issues leading up to this. It all just came out of left field. I was upset of course b/c I didn't understand what had happened all of a sudden but I didn't go back for months and a few weeks ago I got desperate and needed my nails done for an important event so I booked an early appt. From the time Andy saw me, he was rude. He treated me like he didn't want me there. He was rough and so I asked him what was up. I told him the last time I was there he virtually said "don't come back" and he responded saying "I did". He said "I don't want to do your nails anymore". Then he got agitated like he wanted to quit b/c I wanted answers. He said "you gonna keep talking or you want me to do your nails...this is my last time". I asked again, "how did we get from you're so kind...thanks for always being patient with me to don't come back". He then said "your nails are too difficult for me". Then I asked why not say that instead of treating me like I did something wrong". Later I found out that multiple people at the shop had done the same thing to their clients. It appears they are driving away certain customers on purpose. A young lady who use to go to Julie (also a nail tech there) saw my nails recently and asked had i been to the shop and I told her no. She then mentioned that Julie who she'd been going to for years told her out the blue not to come back. I guess we slow down the assembly line of custs too much. They have crunched the numbers and figured out they can make more with easy in and out designs vs spending and hr and a half on our designs. It just goes to show they could not care less abt their customers. the relationships are disingenuous. we are expendable vilified for being patrons b:c we are no longer useful to them. read more

I made an appointment at Nails Allure for a SNS manicure because of the salon's excellent reviews on Yelp. This cozy salon is located in the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center and was easy to find. I arrived on time for my 4:30 appointment and was seen right away. Mary wrapped my nails with acetone in order to soak off the SNS color on my nails. Next, she moved me to the nail drying station while she attended to another customer. Mary came over to check on me after fifteen minutes. She apologized for the wait and kindly moved my coat and handbag to her station as she relocated me to do my manicure. Mary did a good job of painting and shaping my nails. I felt comfortable and relaxed the entire time. My appointment was on a Friday evening and the salon was understandably busy. The lady at the first station nearest the door wore several hats -- she painted nails, manned the telephone, and attended to customers as they entered and left the salon. I admired her honesty when she told a few walk-in customers that the salon was busy right now and that they should come back in an hour. Some salons rush through appointments in order to serve as many customers as possible. Thankfully this salon doesn't do that. Mary dried my nails under the heating lamp typically used for gel manicures. I considered this very atypical because SNS powder typically dries immediately without the use of a heat lamp. My experience at this salon was positive for the most part. Things I didn't like: 1) Three dollar upcharge for paying with a credit card; 2) insufficient cleaning of pedicure tubs. read more

THEY'RE BACK! Nails allure has been closed due to COVID-19 and today 3 months and some change later they opened with a bang. I unfortunately went else where to get my nails done and regretted it as soon as I left. I automatically booked an appointment with Andy and my mom saw Julie, two of the best there. Andy fixed what the other nail salon badly messed up, made my nails look brand new. My mom and I left feeling great and we also booked our next appointment. One thing I can say is regardless of the busy comeback and booked schedules they still made sure to make every client feel relaxed and comfortable. No rush, no hurry to take on the next person. I don't get my nails done too often so I'm not sure what's "normal" or amazing but I've been here a few times, and every time I love my nails! Each time I've had different techs, but they all do a great job! I only took a star because they are a little inconsistent. Maybe it is because I don't know what normally done, but one time I got hand paraffin waxed after my nails being done, this time I didn't. Sometimes my hand is washed before nail color it put on, this time I didn't so I felt like my hand was so messy with powder from filing my nail and other gunk. I've gotten a hand massaged after nails being done, this time I didn't. A little disappointing but my nails still look good at least! :) I had Andy this time as a tech and he was just amazing. So accommodating to make my nails pretty. My nails were so messed up. One fingernail was broken prettty low, and he offered to put some acrylic on it to keep it glued. I didn't know what was an option so I gladly accepted! Then I had another nail that was just really short because it broke, and he put a tip on it so it would be longer and match the rest of my nails. I showed him a picture that I wanted and he explained how it was tough to do with SNS powder, my first time doing powder too! So I told him if it couldn't be done then to keep it simple, but he's like how about I try it on one finger and then I can decide! Super nice that he offered! It isn't exactly how I wanted but I think it's still very pretty! I used to love going here. That was until two days ago when I got acrylic nails filled in and gained a major infection. A few hours later after nail appointment, my fingers were extremely itchy. I relieved the itchiness by running it under cold water and putting on lotion. I went to bed later on and then was woken up because my hands fingers were so itchy. I turned on my light and my pinky and pointer finger looked like they were bubbling by the nail beds. It almost looked as though I was burned. I once again ran my hands under cold water and but lotion on. The pictures I have posted are what my hands look like now, two days after my appointment. It seems as though, this has happened because they do not use sterile and clean tools. I believe this to be the case 100% because when they were filing my nails, the nail filer had clearly been used multiple times. I didn't say nor think anything of it because I had always trusted this nail salon. Sad to say that I shouldn't have. However my last visit was the last straw. During my appointment Nina didn't tell me she had a brow appointment. Didn't even say I'll be right with you, nothing she just left me for 15 min to go do someone's brows not acknowledging my time I already waited for in the first place. That's not it.
