    Chili Cheese fries
    Chad K.

I love this place. Just a slice of Americana with everything from breakfast burritos, to pastrami burgers, to gyros. Now, if that is not a melting pot of American food, then I don't know what is. I got the Gyro plate dinner and it came with onion rings, fries, and a side salad and I selected blue cheese dressing. All for $15! I got so full. I'm a big guy and I can eat a lot and I couldn't finish it. I had lunch ready for the next day. Not the best gyro in the world, but a really decent gyro with all the sauces, onions, tomato that you would expect. And you just can't beat the amount of food for the price you pay. Lots of value, very friendly customer service, and a lot of open dining room space to eat, Fantastic Burgers is still a solid choice in Long Beach.

And I was joined one of my favorite comedians! Fluffy!

The food was great. I really appreciated the help, everything was nice and I get the ocean breeze when sitting outside! Nice place

They expedite service so quickly they tend to get order incorrect, friendly but short. I was eating my breakfast sandwich and tasted a weird taste for a couple bites open up sandwich and the lettuce was rotten not from the heat but clearly rotten and still used, gross, I work in a restaurant and never serve something I wouldn't eat myself. Grossed out and for an $11 egg sandwich I expect better.

Fantastic! Home of the best chili cheese fries and patty melt. I won't go anywhere else for this combination. The coke is good here too and you get a free refill. I prefer this one over the one on Santa Fe. Service is always good. You don't have to throw away your trash because someone will buss your table after you eat. I leave a tip because I think it's the right thing to do. If you ever worked in a restaurant than you know. It's nice inside. Always clean. Restroom was clean. I always check these things. I ate inside but you could go to the drive thru. I've Frequent this place over 20 years and it's always been great.

Bruh the chilli fries at this place are SOOOOOO GOOOD. I don't know why the reviews are so low. I have gotten these chili fries like...3 times a week since I moved to Long Beach and they're so good every time. One day I didn't have time to clock out to go to fantastic burgers... so, I DoorDashed Doublz chilli fries and they were so gross. I learned my lesson and I will drive my happy a** to fantastic burgers on my lunch break every time now because it's worth it.

Stopped by Fantastic Burger for a classic cheeseburger and fries. Nothing fancy, just exactly what you want for a quick lunch.

So eager to dive into my nostalgic meal that I clumsily forgot to snap the photo til I'd demolished much of the meal!

Gather 'round, little Yelpers, as your favorite Elite Yelp correspondent takes you waaay back in time when he was a mere whipper-snapper, a wannabe Elite Yelper at San Pedro High School, circa 1986-88. Back then, Ronald Reagan sat in the Oval Office, NBC sitcoms Cheers and The Cosby Show ruled the boob tube and you could order the "Special Combo Plate" at Fantastic Cafe for only $3.65. That would getcha a ¼ pounder burger/cheeseburger, fries, onion rings, a salad and a large soft drink. You'd quaff one of those on your lunch break, and suddenly the prospect of AP Gov and AP Lit in fifth and sixth periods didn't seem sooo dreadfully unimportant! Guess what, kiddos? Fantastic Cafe, or like this location has rechristened itself, Fantastic Burgers, will still unspool this extraordinarily filling meal straight offve their sizzling hot plancha (flat top grill)...but it'll setya back $16.85 plus tax. My youngest son Brad & I were on our way back home when we hung a left onto Cherry from Wardlow when we both noticed the biig blue "Fantastic" letters calling to us. My three kids have HEARD enough stories of my halcyon high school days, that they all vividly recognize the NAME, even if none of em had tried it...til today! Brad and I both ordered the same special plate, hold the tomatoes, with salads drenched in thousand. The caliber of food is...good. Not hold onto your pillowcase and squeeze tight INCREDIBLE, but good. The burgers still have that uncanny char taste, the onion rings simply breaded in a thin, lacquered breading that shatters when you snap into them. But the unexpected STAR of our meal? The fries. Shocked to be writing that- Cause for 30+ years the Fantastic Cafe brethren of restaurants served steak fries...which I generally detest. Not so, anymore! Tonight's fries arrived as slender, golden brown stalks generously slathered with seasoned salt, dancing like Rockettes from the plate to our mouths! The salads were the duds of the meal. While the size and chilled temperature of the salads are still excellent, tonight's lettuce, carrots, tomato + cucumber arrived a wee overripe. The service is still very good- Fantastic encourages guests to leave their dirty dishes at the table and they'll even ferry your piping hot plate from plancha to table. Why not five stars? Because of the wonky salads and for violating a cardinal law of dessert. Lemme explain. Fantastic serves decadent Thrifty Drugs Ice Cream...which any longtime Los Angeleno will tellya is THE WORLD CHAMPION DODGERS of ice creams. But these jabronies are selling it for a ghastly $5.25/single scoop cone!! That's practically Baskin Robbins level of extortion!! Especially cuz Thrifty was famous for dishing out their delish cones for only $0.35/cone during my whipper-snapper days of high school then USC. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. Even now, I can still find Thrifty ice cream at Rite Aids for circa $1.85/scoop. So- For nearly tripling the go to price of my fave ice cream and serving "Reagan era" salads, Fantastic Burgers gets dinged one star. But otherwise? If you're feeling a wee malnourished, require some good ol' American carb-dense sustenance to stiffen your spine...then seize a Jackson and stroll into Fantastic for a meal that'll leave ya feeling rather, well, fantastic.

Current Status visit. Changing from 4 stars to 2 stars. I use to rave about this place regarding quality and quantity. Most part, quality is still there. The quantity is what I am complaining about. What use to be an average size burrito with meat only turned into a taquito. The picture does not do justice. Increased prices but the product is getting smaller. Dissappointed on their part. Workers are nice but this establishment is getting tight. I am not getting the quantity on the value what is being paid for. Tight on Salsa and mustard is and indication that this restaurant is getting cheap. I noticed that on the fries as well. I don't think I will be purchasing a burrito from this place again. Your better getting a burrito from your local taco trucks. This burrito being served now is the size of a burrito supreme from Taco bell. If you know.. you know Please make comparisons from the last two pics vs a year ago.

Bacon breakfast burrito: Cross-section halfway through (with bite marks). Plenty of cheese!
    Andrew H.

Oh, Fantastic Burgers...a ubiquitous chain of restaurants in the OC/LA county area by name and, in this location specifically, definitely a local legend. I've actually never had burgers here: the hidden gems are the Chili Cheese Fries and the fried mushrooms, but today I am going to review one of a few items that makes me come here occasionally when I'm in town, and that is the breakfast burrito. A breakfast burrito is simple but hard to master: when done poorly, it is a mess, and when done well it becomes much greater than the sum of its parts. In this case, this Fantastic Burgers location has been churning out the latter for as long as I can remember. Their breakfast burrito includes all the minimum necessary components for a good breakfast burrito: breakfast meat (in my case, bacon), eggs, some form of potato (in this case, hash browns which is my preference - I can have extensive arguments on why this is the only correct choice), and plenty of cheese. Breakfast burritos can be categorized into 2 groups: those that make one giant mixture of the ingredients, and those that have all the ingredients separated. This falls into the latter, and personally I think it's much harder to do well but has a nice payoff. The key for that is balance: a good ratio of all of these ingredients, since they're in separate pockets of the burrito. And this burrito had exactly that without needing to fluff up any of the ingredients with gimmicks. What I appreciated most was that the whole burrito mixture was well-enveloped in cheese and that eggs were not overdone which is a common pitfall for a breakfast burrito. The flour tortilla was just stiff enough and just chewy enough to complement everything. Overall, a super solid breakfast burrito that makes you want to come back again when you're craving one. The one gripe I had was that the hash brown did feel a bit mushy, and that wasn't helped by the salsa making it feel like a bit more of a homogenous mixture. Normally it also comes with onions which I usually do not get. For about $11, this burrito is worth the money and could definitely make 2 meals but if you're hungry enough you can finish it in one. Needless to say, this continues to stand the test of time over the years.

    Bacon Double Cheeseburger with Fries

Tried Fantastic Burgers in Long Beach, CA for the first time and it was really good. The food was cooked to order and the fries were hot. They have great customer service and the staff was very helpful with answering my questions. You definitely get your monies worth. I would recommend this restaurant and would like to try a few other things. They also sell breakfast.

Our order: -Onion rings (the right batter to sliced onion ratio & delicious seasoning); -the french fries- crispy and the right amount of salt seasoning *dipped into their Jalapeno ranch, and you will be left smiling!* -the Works: What a burger! I love Portabello mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Persian cucumbers, so when I read that on the menu, I knew I had to order this, and I am not disappointed! This hit the spot. The smash patty topped with my favorites made for a perfect burger filling party. -the Don Chendo burger- the salsa Don Chendo on a jalapeño-Cheddar bun - culinary innovation at its finest! For non-spicy eaters like myself, you can eat this. This is definitely tolerable spice with a delicious flavor that overrules any "heat". The buttery, softness of the bun with the cheddar and jalapenos melted into it compliment the flavors of the patty, red onions and Chendo sauce. Having a burger is a rare craving for us, and thankfully our taste buds led us here this time that we did, because we were left, not only satisfied, but can safely say that this is one of the fewest Exceptional burgers we have tried thus far. Burgers are huge too! You def get more bang for your buck here. Staff was very welcoming, friendly and attentive toward us. We truly appreciated the warm greeting and them making sure we felt comfortable with their product deliveries coming in/out of the restaurant while we ate. Not too big & not too small of a place. Ample seating booths make for a comfy social occasion. We highly recommend to All! & will return again!

Refried beans; crispy tots; vegan cheese; avocado; mushrooms -- hearty; filling; and layered properly. But what really makes this burrito stand out are the house-made sauces. The salsa has the perfect heat; and their vegan dipping sauce elevates the entire experience. You can taste the intention. Now let's talk about the burger. The vegan burger is not an afterthought here. It's juicy; well-seasoned; and balanced. The texture is on point; the toppings are fresh; and it holds its structure without falling apart. You can tell they care about execution. Between the house-made sauces; the fusion flavor profile; and the consistency across both items; Sideburns earns its spot. If you're in Long Beach and want vegan comfort food done right; this is absolutely worth pulling up to.

There was 2 spots available for parking as we wanted to walk in and order but that didn't happened. The line to drive through wasn't moving so there was no way to park. Ended up just walking out while someone was waiting to park. Even when you walk in, the place was a little dysfunctional. People were just standing around so you didn't know who needed to order or who was waiting. There were 6 people infront of me waiting to order. The whole restaurant was packed so it must be good. Plus it could also be spring break and one of the places that was still open. Who knows.. The menu was a mixture of everything. You have breakfast dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salads, Mexican dishes and main entrees. A pleather of everything and the prices was very reasonable. I went with an order of the chicken quesadilla which was served with a heap of guacamole and shredded lettuce on the side. Portion was pretty massive for what it was. And an order of the chicken club sandwich which came with fries. Another item that was pretty massive. Plus a medium order of onion rings. If that order was medium, I wonder what the large would be as it was pretty big already. Plus they were ok, not major. They asked if you wanted chili peppers and ketchup upon pickup but ranch was an additional 1.05 if needed. With all that waiting and leaving, we noticed that the car infront of us when we drove in also left around the same time when they did drive through. I don't know what was going on last night but it sure brought out everyone. I guess it's a happening place. For the price, the food was quite nice and decent. It was pretty big for the order and very well priced.

TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. SPICY CHICKEN My omnivore friend said it wasn't "that" spicy. But good. Fries: mine delicious. Sweet potato fries (they ate all of theirs) looked good. The 1,000 island is thick and good on everything. (Fries+burger) SEATING Two tables are inside. Wooden Bench and metal chairs are not uncomfortable. But the sun shines directly INTO you in the afternoon. Looks like they're going through some construction right now. ORDERING pretty obvious when you walk in. NO CASH There is a kiosk to place your order and pay by credit card or app. Super easy. BATHROOM (-1) there is no public bathroom. To wash/clean your burger mitts, you'll need to use a bunch of napkins. Not optimal. I don't need to pee, but I want to drive without "burgering" my steering wheel. (Although might be worth it) SPARE TENGUI? BONUS POINTS IYKYK

Another star off:…read more Wanted to really support this place because I love their vegan burgers. This time we had two one offs; 1. My burger took more than 20 mins/felt like 25-30. I ordered my usual breakfast sandwich and would drive from Torrance. It took waaaaay toooooo lonnnng. 2. On top of this, the cashier/male and cook/female were going at it in the kitchen. They both were not having a good evening and kept jabbing and saying unprofessional things to each other. This really brought a negative expierence. It was a double whammy of let downs combo to go. Would I recommend this place?? Would you? Hope they can make this right the next time I visit. As a business owner myself, customer service and experience is key for retention. Staff needs training!! Period.

I listened to orders being placed as she continuously greeted customers. At one time I did hear a couple of customers order a dinner and I heard her ask if they wanted fries, salad or half of each. Their online menu does not indicate the sides available. It was at this time, 9 minutes later hung up. I tried to call back and the line was obviously busy. I placed my order online for burgers and fries and drove to pick my order up. It's not what I wanted but I knew what I was getting. When I arrived at the restaurant i asked her name. She said, Kate. I explained what happened and she indicated she forgot about the call. I told her good customer service would have been for her to come back to the phone if even to say, I hadn't forgot about you and will be with you shortly. She admitted I hadn't forgot a valid point. I ordered 2 burgers, a double cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger both with fries. To make matters worse the cheese was not even melted on the burger. Just a cold slice of cheese on both burgers. I had bit into the burger before realizing the cheese was cold and not melted or soft. I'm going to give Poly Burgers a rest. Today's experience was frustrating.
