The price for everything we received was very very reasonable, and I appreciated that they took card and allowed us to add tip via card as well. My wife and I both left feeling very relaxed and our feet feeling brand new, and can't wait to make a trip back soon. After my appointment, I went back and read the negative reviews, and honestly, those matched my experience much more closely. The first red flag was that I walked in to ask about pricing, then left to think about it, and one of the employees actually came out into the parking lot to convince me to come back. That immediately felt off. The second red flag was that I asked for almond-shaped acrylics, and the technician immediately started putting tips on without ever asking what length I wanted. He just assumed I wanted them short. By that point I was already committed, so I just went with it. As the service went on, I also noticed the salon wasn't as clean as I would expect. There were leftover decorations up and everything was just dirty and had stains on it, and debris around the work area, and it just didn't give me a great feeling. To be fair, the pedicure came out really nice. They opened what appeared to be a sealed pack of sanitized tools, which I appreciated, and I'm happy with how my toes turned out. The acrylic nails, though, were another story. The technician left noticeable gaps between the acrylic and my cuticles, as well as along the sides of my nails. They're also extremely thick. My boyfriend, who normally doesn't notice nails at all, actually asked if they were press-ons because they looked so bulky and fake. It's only been about a week, and because of the large gap near the cuticle, they already look like they've grown out for several weeks. I know sometimes a last-minute appointment is all you can get, and that's why I stayed. But if I could do it over again, I would have gone somewhere else. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this salon based on my experience.

I get basic gel (or at least I think it is) and my nails always last - I go about 4 weeks between appointments. I've also gotten by nails done by Grazziela, another artist at Vacation Nail Collective. She too did an amazing job! I've been meaning to book a pedicure with her and have been eyeing her books. Just need to commit! The location is also super cute. There's parking either on the street, the lot behind the building, or a parking structure about a block away (don't worry it's free). If you park in the parking garage there is a very cute cat that lives in the nearby houses and it will likely come out and greet you if you walk by (10/10 experience). If you're hungry or thirsty after your appointment there are SO many good cafes and restaurants near by. Since the artists here are so talented, their books fill up fast, so book quickly! Here for a long time this is probably the worst shaping I've ever gotten here. I could have done my own shaping better than that at home. Just ridiculous *** it was around 5-7 weeks since my last pedicure so my toes were not "really short" besides the big toe that broke. I added another picture to show that she was filing into my toe nails after cutting them super short as short as she could get them and made half of them round and tiny. She also cut the sides of the nails which you aren't supposed to do due to infection and hang nails. I asked her not to do this. there was no reason for her to cut the sides of my nails on one foot and not the other leaving with me with uneven toes. I appreciate the response but I feel that there should be an attempt to fix the situation instead of making excuses or insinuating that I'm making this up.

The application was sloppy, the nails were inconsistent in thickness, and the French tips looked blotchy and uneven. My daughter told me that he had to redo parts of the service several times during the appointment. When she got home and showed me her nails, it was clear that the quality of the work did not reflect the $60 price tag or the nearly two hours spent at the salon. My daughter was especially upset because this was meant to be a special birthday treat. I brought her back to the salon and spoke with who I believe was the manager. I appreciated how quickly he addressed my concerns and had the technician correct the nails. While the second attempt looked better, the overall result looked ehh. I do want to recognize the manager for trying to make things right, but based on this experience, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

I wanted to try a different place to see if this would be a better fit. And unfortunately not. I arrived early to make sure I could find the place. My app was at 4:30. The girls were running behind; ok didn't mind waiting 10 extra minutes. The one who gave me my manicure was friendly and we made conversation. She never asked how I like the shape of my nails which ended up coming out a little crooked. The finished product of my gel mani looked uneven; a 3rd coat prob would've made me happier. My pedi was after in which the other girl seemed nice but never asked if I wanted any extra services. I wanted the callus remover, but since she didn't ask I felt that she didn't want more money. She took her time which was nice but an hour is just WAY too long. I ended up getting out of there by 6:15. When she had gotten to painting my nails she never held my toes individually to paint. Made me a little uneasy to see if it would actually come out just as nice. IT DIDN'T. Polish ended up on my skin and looked like a 5 year old could paint better. I give this place 2 stars for their friendly-ness but I am NOW done looking at other nail places. I will continue to go to my fav place close to my house. read more

I gave 1 additional star because the staff made me feel comfortable and because the woman who did my nails spent a lot of time making sure they were proportionate. Oh well, $90 down the drain. I learned my lesson and l definitely will not come back to this nail salon again. I highly suggest that the Manager of this nail salon starts investing on getting updated technical skill training for its staff so that they know how to use things like blooming gel and different magnets (for cat eye polish) to create modern effects. It's kinda unacceptable for a professional nail tech to be more clueless than their customer who simply enjoys nail art as an observer/novice...

However one index nail has developed a split that stops growing at a point and breaks. My clear enamel no longer did the job. But a lady at Zara, months ago, fixed it! I believe she put gel on that nail because it was shinier and higher than the others. It lasted a long time. I returned recently and requested the same thing. Did not get it. And there was a language barrier so although I did ask why they had not done the gel that I had been very clear to request when checking in, it was too late. And they seemed to sincerely believe that what they had done would fix my problem and two ladies (check-in person and the person who did the work) did their best to explain to me what had actually been done to that nail (one kept using the word "foundation"). Unfortunately not only did that nail split within only a couple of days, causing me to have to clip it, ALL the nails began losing their clear coat in layers. Layers that are peeling and catching on things like hair. I feel like they tried but either did not want to do what I asked or thought their way was better for a reason I never understood due to a language challenge. I will not return.
