Absolutely horrible experience at Tip Top Nail Salon. The nail tech was rushing me from the moment I sat down, barely gave me time to pick a color, and rushed through the entire nail job. She filed my nails way too thin, and instead of feeling relaxed, I left stressed and frustrated. Under no circumstances should you get serviced by Lily. I genuinely felt like she was mocking me during the appointment, which made everything even worse. The polishes looked like they were expired and honestly should not be used on anyone. It's only been a week and already two nails have broken and the polish has started lifting. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I had to this time because I'm that disappointed. I'm not sure how this place has such positive reviews. I will say that the people working here are nice but I'm extremely frustrated with the experience I had. Myself and two best friends went in for gel x pedicures. While getting the color done on my toes the technician kept hitting the polish with the gel light to the point where toes had to be redone. Not a huge issue. Except when we finished and he wiped my feet an entire toe was missing color! Not like my toe nail came off, like the gel just scrapped off in an instant. So we redid that toe. I left paying $57 and less than 24 hours later I now have TWO toes missing paint. Unbelievable! I literally didn't do anything with my feet today other than walk in socks protected by Ugg boots. Like if the nail polish is old throw it away. I don't live close to this location so I can't even go in and ask them to fix it. Complete waste of time and money. Also my best friend had asked for a color from the 500 options given to her to choose from. They decided to paint her nails with a color they had then offered to put glitter over it so it looked similar. Of course this was done when they were almost finished. Not cool. If you don't have something in stock be honest and upfront with the customer. I'm sure she could have chosen something else from the other 499 options and left happy !!! My husband always says "don't believe the Yelp reviews!" He was right and I don't know how this place positive reviews. I came on an afternoon and there was one customer in a spa chair. I asked for a basic mani ($20) and pedi ($25) and was helped immediately. I was asked if I wanted any upgrades (gel, callous removal $7), but i declined. All i I wanted was to relax in a chair and get my nails done. The chair didn't have any massage features. I wasn't told any ways. I was sitting so close to the pedicure lady that my knees were up to my face. Very uncomfortable start. Eva did my mani and helped me pick a color. She did a decent job. After she was done, she whipped out an accordion fan and fanned my nails to dry. This place has zero electric FANS! The lady who did my pedicure (she doesn't wear a name tag) is probably in her late 50's with heavy makeup and fake eyelashes is horrible! She cut my skin (see photo), lazy in scrubbing my feet or massaging my calves and feet. She is extremely aggressive and the pedicure was torturous. After she was done and BEFORE MY NAIL POLISH WAS DRY, She put my sandals back on, lifted up the arm rest of the spa chair and i was motioned to move to the loveseat by the door. The paint of my right big toe was ruined and she had to re-paint it. As I sat on the love seat, I was fanning my toes with my cell phone so I could get out of there! The pedicure lady saw that, gave me another accordion fan and said "sorry I'm too busy to fan." I gave Eva a 20% tip and the pedicure lady $0. There was a young lady sitting in the chair, being helped by this same pedicure person. I mouthed to her that the pedicure was bad and I've already told 3 people to avoid this place! This place is hit or miss, unfortunately. I started going regularly for pedicures with no issue. Went today and the floor was littered in cut nails. The chair they gave me did not work in full. I wasn't given a menu to choose what pedicure I wanted, I was rushed to try and select my manicure gel color. And my toe nails upon inspection were not smooth on a few toes. I asked the technician to fix and she did but she should have done this before I even asked her. read more

New to this place. I requested 5 different styles ( one for each finger). I showed them all to nail tech Eva before she began refilling. She said she can do them but long story short, she was only able to complete the chrome nail. She nor the other nail techs were able to do an ombré , or simple designs. The one star is for Lisa who gives a great pedicure. But I got a fill 5 days ago and it's the worst of my life! After she completed the fill portion, which was lumpy, bumpy and messy as all get up, she tried to paint. There were divets and cracks and I could not believe she was willing to let me pay for it! I finally said, this looks totally unprofessional- like my 12 year old son did it! She blamed the gel nail polish...took everything off and started over. 2 hours later, My nails are all different lengths and going in different directions and shapes. I had to go with an almost clear color to camouflage the horrific job....it looked like my nails had grown out a week when she finished. I also told her to keep my length and I ended up with short, thick nubs. I honestly don't know how she sends clients out the door like this. When I got home, my daughter said, "mom! Don't you remember the same thing happened to me!? You can't go to tip top!!!" I wish I had better reviews but I've been so furious about the fact that I paid good money for a HORRIBLE job. This is my second time here and I'm a little confused on the pricing. When I first came here the tech that did my nails did such an amazing job. I got tip and dip done. It's where they put acrylics to the tip of my nails to make them look longer then they use dip powder. Anyway, long story short. I came here today to get a fill and to add a tip to one of my nails that broke off. I noticed after I left that my nails weren't filed correctly. She also wanted to charge $5 for a broken nail plus charged me full set price. I said but I thought it's a fill and she said yes but we had to fix the nail and had to paint the nails all over again. She then said she'll take the $5 off for the broken nail. I've never been charged full set price for a fill before. It shouldnybe considered a fill then if that's the case. read more

I really trusted the yelp review but I feel deceive. My girlfriends and I went in for three pedi and two full set. The pedicure was great even though we waited an hour or so before each person was served. We were patience until the lady did my nails. She half fast them and agreed she can do the design I asked. The nails were bumpy & lumpy, crooked, uneven and i asked multiple times if she can reshape it. I felt her becoming annoyed. Once I looked at the sample, it wasn't great so I asked if I can change to only a solid color since I been in the chair for almost 2.5 hours. My friend didnt even get her nails done. Not even 20 minutes of leaving the nail salon, the nails are lifting and popping off. I paid $55 bucks for these. To top it all off, I understood everything they said at the salon. When I got my nails done, everything was fine. A little bit of a wait but they had me soak my feet so I didn't mind at all. Service was fine, nothing memorable and nothing horrible. I'm just peeved because I should have went with my gut when I saw one of the reviews stating they don't have clean tools, because now I am pretty sure my middle fingers nail is infected. It hurt a bit the next day and didn't think anything of it because I got my cuticles cut, but now there's pus coming out of that finger on the side where the cuticles were cut. I've gotten my nails done a billion times and this has never happened before. Moral of story, DONT COME HERE. Better yet I hope they change their act and start sterilizing their tools. Called about an hour before close to ask if they could fix a broken acrylic nail for me (the acrylics were done at a different salon and the breakage was totally my fault-- don't try to open things with your nails!) They told me I could come over right then. I went in and the lady who was working on me (didn't catch her name) started working on removing the acrylic. She used a nail tip to pry off part of the acrylic which seemed strange and really hurt. I should have stopped after she took the original acrylic off my nail, but I let her try to put a new acrylic on instead. She got the tip and the acrylic on but when she started filing the nail it broke again. I tried telling her to just take the acrylic off but she tried to glue the loose part back onto my skin. It broke again shortly after. All of this was extremely painful but I was trying to just get through it. Once I convinced her to just take the acrylic off, she cut the nail down and had me put it in acetone. This was extremely painful because of all the trauma to my nail and I had to take it out immediately and was holding back tears. She cut the nail down a bit more and let me go. I now have a short, jagged nail with acrylic left on and I am still in a lot of pain hours later. Once I go get the nail professionally removed, I will also need to get it checked for infection. I do appreciate that they did not charge me for this encounter. read more

Hitting my 4th week this week and my nails are still a solid 5! I chose to go to Tip Top over a couple other places I had bookmarked due to their positive reviews and amazing nail designs. With NYE coming up, I decided to treat myself to a little more than just my typical one-color acrylic nail set and instead got a pink and white ombre acrylic set with glitter on the ring fingers. Mimi definitely took her time prepping and shaping my nails which I appreciated. However, when she was applying the ombre I couldn't help but notice how slowly she set them in. Now, I've gotten acrylics done before and I know that if you don't work quickly, it'll set faster than you can mold it. With that being said, some of my nails came out to be a lot bulkier than others. I pointed that out and she immediately started shaving them out to be thinner until I was satisfied. Long story short, the time spent on my nails was a little longer than I had hoped (over an hour) but the length that she went to make sure I loved the end result was the winner. I absolutely adore my Gel mani that Linda did for me. It was my first time doing my nails and she may have gotten me addicted! She took her time, was meticulous and checked every nail. My right thumb nail was kinda broken under the white tip and she fixed it with glue and white powder, carefully buffing it. It was priced at 25$ and I don't think that is bad at all. I've been here plenty of times that a review is overdue. Jenny is the one who always help me and I never leave her place dissatisfied. Any design that I want to try, she always brings it to life. Cost wise, it's pretty reasonable especially with her attention to detail. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my nails. (I'm very picky with my nail place so that's saying a lot.) Acrylic + gel are usually an hour time and depending on design or lack of, it'll go from $30-$50 for me not including tip. Appointment is a must if you want to book her exclusively. read more
