After my appointment, I went back and read the negative reviews, and honestly, those matched my experience much more closely. The first red flag was that I walked in to ask about pricing, then left to think about it, and one of the employees actually came out into the parking lot to convince me to come back. That immediately felt off. The second red flag was that I asked for almond-shaped acrylics, and the technician immediately started putting tips on without ever asking what length I wanted. He just assumed I wanted them short. By that point I was already committed, so I just went with it. As the service went on, I also noticed the salon wasn't as clean as I would expect. There were leftover decorations up and everything was just dirty and had stains on it, and debris around the work area, and it just didn't give me a great feeling. To be fair, the pedicure came out really nice. They opened what appeared to be a sealed pack of sanitized tools, which I appreciated, and I'm happy with how my toes turned out. The acrylic nails, though, were another story. The technician left noticeable gaps between the acrylic and my cuticles, as well as along the sides of my nails. They're also extremely thick. My boyfriend, who normally doesn't notice nails at all, actually asked if they were press-ons because they looked so bulky and fake. It's only been about a week, and because of the large gap near the cuticle, they already look like they've grown out for several weeks. I know sometimes a last-minute appointment is all you can get, and that's why I stayed. But if I could do it over again, I would have gone somewhere else. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this salon based on my experience.

While the price is affordable, I will not come back due to sanitary issues & incorrect methods they use. We made appts for 12 pm and my nails were not started until 12:45 pm. My nail tech (Michelle) was very nice and she does nails well, however, she used the nail grinder tool to clean my cuticles. My cuticles HURT for hours after my nails were done and weeks after the appt, I still have cut up cuticles and scabbing from the blood (pictures attached). I wish I had known in the moment that this method is not okay; it should have been a cuticle cutter. Once I got to my car and quickly googled that I found: Grinders are made for shaping hard artificial or natural nail surfaces, not living skin. Using a high-speed rotating bit on the delicate cuticle and the nail bed can easily cause painful skin tears, deep friction burns, and severe infections. These aren't correct practices used by this salon; they are taking the easy route to get it done quickly. Would not recommend. I would give them 1 star but Yelp removes those reviews easily so that's why I'm putting 2-stars.

I added another picture to show that she was filing into my toe nails after cutting them super short as short as she could get them and made half of them round and tiny. She also cut the sides of the nails which you aren't supposed to do due to infection and hang nails. I asked her not to do this. there was no reason for her to cut the sides of my nails on one foot and not the other leaving with me with uneven toes. I appreciate the response but I feel that there should be an attempt to fix the situation instead of making excuses or insinuating that I'm making this up.

I don't write negative reviews often, so this one is disappointing to post. Zara Nails has been my go-to salon since I moved to the area, and service is usually solid -- especially when the owner is around. She's kind, professional, and I've genuinely enjoyed supporting her business. That's what makes last night's experience so frustrating. As a new mom, free time is precious and rare. When I found a window yesterday evening, I called ahead to check for a wait. They said no wait, come right in. I rushed over and arrived in under 5 minutes, on a tight timeline since my babysitter was leaving in 30. The staff recognized me as the person who'd just called -- and made me wait anyway. I only needed a basic pedicure. They told me 5-10 minutes. Ten minutes passed with no update, and I finally got up to leave, frustrated that I'd been told "no wait" just to get me in the door. As I was walking out, a tech suddenly called out "I'm done!" -- conveniently, only once I was already heading for the exit. What really gets me is that I already had an appointment scheduled for the next day. If they'd just been upfront and said "there's a 10-15 minute wait," I would've happily come back the following day instead of wasting what little free time I had. Instead I got a false promise just to get me through the door. And now they lost a customer. That's not a scheduling hiccup, that's poor service and a bait-and-switch on wait times. I won't be returning, and based on other recent reviews, I'm not the only one who's had this experience lately. read more

The first person working on my nails was about to let me leave with noticeable clumps of builder gel still left on my nails. The photos attached are after she had "fixed" it. I had to point it out and ask her to "fix it" There was also no soak-off process whatsoever. After she said she was finished, I reminded them that I had also asked for a gel manicure, only to be told that they didn't have time. I then asked if they could at least buff and smooth out the remaining product. Just SOMETHING to make my nails look better and smoother but, they seemed frustrated because she had a pedicure waiting. I believe the owner or someone in charge eventually took over. Everyone spoke Chinese and only few words was spoken to me. She clearly saw that the nails needed additional filing and went over them again herself but it was still terrible. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was seeing an already opened pouch of tools being used right in front of me. The station I was seating in clearly was not cleaned up before they seated me. There was an open blue pouch of tools and powder every where. I'm sharing pictures so people can see the condition of my nails afterward. Unfortunately, I would not recommend coming here. There are plenty of other nail salons within 5-10 minutes please go there instead.
