My technician was Maria. I was in a rush so I couldn't get the full manicure but got the gel color change (turns out it was better not to get the full manicure). I'm honestly dissatisfied with this service and their customer service. I was clear with what I wanted to get and she kept asking me if I want full manicure, eyebrow wax and other services. Some people had shields around them, but there was non in front of me nor between me and person sitting next to me. As you see in the pictures, color is not even, painted over the cuticles, shape is not even and she filed them after she's done painting, hopefully it doesn't chip after few days. I got a pedicure at this salon today and while my pedicure was fine, the customer next to me and her nail tech were making extremely transphobic and dangerous comments. The nail tech consistently dead-named and misgendered a famous transgender celebrity and accused her of only transitioning for attention. The nail tech consistently degraded the experience of transgender people and used language such as "crazy" when describing them while claims about the effects of hormonal therapy despite clearly not being a medical professional by any means. I left crying.. I really wanted my nail to look nice. I work really hard and save to do something special for myself... the tech seemed okay when I sat down. She kinda did this rough removal of my nail polish and had told me to put my hands in a dirty bowl.. no soap or spa nail soap just luke warm water.. probably used for acrylic remover no big deal still gross.. mind you there is still polish around cuticle. This place is not great. I went once with a friend to get manicures. My nails were a nice pink but then the technician added a flower to the index fingers, she added the top coat before the flower was done drying and it smeared the polish all over. I walked around for two weeks with really sloppy smeared nails. My friends manicure was done in ten minutes and her nails were all uneven- some round and some straight. I called yesterday for a 9 am appointment today and when I got there there was one woman in the shop. She told me I could just wait around for someone to show up. I asked her when that would be and she said she had no idea. So they don't have a good reservation system and don't really follow their hours. I went up to pay at the front after my manicure with my technician and the man who may be the owner or manager (who is always standing there with the lady who answers the phones) shared a few words with my technician, frowned, then KICKED HER. Upon paying I learn my total is $57, because the cuticles are now apparently $10 extra which doesn't seem to make sense. Nail Technician: M A R I A This was my first time here. Was around the area so decided to try it out. First of all, I'm pretty picky about how I like my acrylics done. Therefore, it makes it pretty difficult for me to be happy with a nail technician's work. Plain and simple - I just like a job well done, clean, natural, and to look like the shape I'm requesting. I've had a few good techs work on my nails but I haven't found one like Maria, here at Fancy Nails & Spa. I've been searching for a new nail technician since my go to guy moved over an hour away about a year ago. I think after a year of trying a few different nail salons, I have finally found the place I want to come back to. And what was great about Maria was I didn't even have to really tell her how/what I wanted, she's just a true expert at her career. I told her I wanted "coffin acrylics" that "looked natural" and "not too long" and "more narrow than wide". Not only was she capable of doing that without hesitancy, she also actually checked her work to make sure there were not uneven shaping of acrylic, took the extra second to clean off the running Gel polish, didn't overload the polish so the nail ends up looking thick/fat/bad, etc. JUST BEING A PROFESSIONAL! I was a walk-in at this salon today. Katie was able to take me right away for a dipping powder manicure. She was super helpful in selecting the right color and she is a very skilled nail technician. I was able to have my eyebrows waxed and tinted as well. Everyone was friendly and courteous. I was so impatient I made an appointment for my daughter later this week. For $26 for a gel you really can't beat the price, so I was pretty excited to see how well they'd do. Honestly the woman I had was pretty nice and held decent convo through the whole procedure. However, their idea of the manicure is two coats and a top coat... in other salons they do like 3, and a lot more meticulate about them. Literally I took longer to pick a color than I sat down for the treatment. As I was walking out, I noticed my cuticles weren't cleaned very well, too. It's been 1.5 weeks since I got mine done and 6/10 of my nails are all chipped and peeling, even though I haven't been particularly rough on them (i'm on break/ not even typing or working much...)! I've been going to Fancy Nails in the greenbriar shopping center for years now. I love how they have SO many nail polish colors to choose from (even gel), I swear they have a great variety of colors. Also they're pretty quick (gel mani/pedi ~1hr). Also they do eyelash extensions now! They just started doing eyelash extensions in the past ~4 months or so, but Amy is very attentive and meticulous with how she does it. She takes about 1.5hrs to do a full set. A full set is $120 and refills are $70-80 depending on how long you last came in. The refill price is a bit high in comparison to some other extension salons that do a full set at that same price but Amy's work lasts longer (the lashes don't shed as quickly) in comparison to other salons. The images I posted are of the length 14, so it looks more "glamorous" but if you want a more natural look she has those lash lengths too. I love going to Christine for my nails. She's so sweet and personable! And she does a great job on my nails. She's great with my acrylics, designs etc.. the picture of my nails below is an acrylic tip with an ombré gel coral color, and I absolutely love it! She's also very gentle and meticulous on how she cleans up my nails. Kim (the owner's wife) is who does my waxing. Honestly I only trust her to do my waxing, and I mean like in comparison to other waxing places/people in this area. I mean waxing is painful but she helps relieve some of that pain and warns you about the area she's about to do next and that it'll hurt, stuff like that. She's also so sweet. Yes I'm a regular here but I've never had a bad experience, even when I have to use other technicians, everyone is so friendly. It's also nice to have a one stop shop to do all my needs! read more

And for this, your nails are right out in front of you for these conversations, meetings, presentations. I have tried this place here and there over 15 years and each time gets worse. This last time they told me one price and then charged me almost double. I went in for a gel pedicure and a dip manicure. The lady that did my manicure just started dipping my nails. Didn't soak my nails or push my skin back or trim anything. She just slapped the dip on and told me to wash my hands and that was it. Then the lady who did my pedicure asked me if I wanted a "spa pedicure" and I told her "no thank you". The "spa" treatment ended up being 20 minutes of her trimming my nails, cutting me at least twice, and applying nail polish poorly, some even ending up on my skin. I was then taken to the dryer and my payment was collected. I said "That was a spa pedicure?" to which she replied yes because she had put salt and lotion on my legs. I was left at the dryer and the lady came back after a bit to put some weird oil on my feet. She tried to put my shoes and socks on my feet but my socks and shoes were soaked. I should've listened to Brandi K's review. I'm pretty disappointed in this place. Came here to have a little girl bonding time with my roomie. She had raved about this place and how the gel manicures were so cheap. We got seen right away, my roomie got the nice nail tech who talked to her throughout the whole process. Mine was nice too, but there was much engagement.. 1st thing that made me knew it wasn't going to be a great experience was when she kinda semi rushed doing my pedi. She only did one coat and moved me to the nail station before I could say anything. I guess maybe it's my fault for not noticing this and assumed she would just do at least two coats (since most places do this anyways). From there she did my nails and cut it and filed it the way she wanted to. Blargh, again I guess I thought she would've asked me how I would like it shaped and cut since most places do that... All in all she didn't shape my nails that nice. My left hand nails look so unprofessional...
