I wanted to like this place, but overall would not recommend. Here is where the business could improve: 1. Have a friendly and welcoming person at the front desk to greet you. 2. Have the nail tech greet and ask questions about how you prefer the service. 3. If you are going to use big plastic barrier shields, have them be clean. They were very dirty with white stains and were terrible to look through. It doesn't project a clean establishment 4. The price for a basic level manicure is $35. I've been to several places within two miles of Diamond Spa and they range between $24 and $26 dollars for a basic manicure while providing a clean environment and far more nail color choices. That is a big price difference. 5. Lastly, while I didn't get a pedicure, I noticed no plastic liners were being used. I called later to ask if they use them and they replied no with no explanation. That seems to be standard in the industry and would make me feel more comfortable to receive a pedicure. Just had a wonderful experience here. Was a walk in on a Sunday before thanksgiving and was seen right away. Clean, comfortable, quiet environment with soft music playing. So much more relaxing than the mosaic nail salons I usually go to. And the best part-- you get a mini neck and shoulder massage during it!! With HOT STONES! I had an awful experience in this place. I went there in the evening, so I was their last customer. Although they were nice to me, they were in RUSH to finish my nails and go home!!! They started doing manicure and pedicure "at the same time" !! By putting two Chairs on my right and left for manicure and shellac while sitting on the massage chair doing pedicure . I had red nail polish on my hand which are still visible!!!!! My hands shellac looks very messy and dirty. They had me to bend and wash my hands with the hose they use for feet!! The lady cut one of my foot's nail so short that it's pink now and it hurts. The towels they used smelled bad. It's only two days since I did my nails, and the Gel is coming off! This spa is a little slice of heaven on the revitalized historic Church Street in Vienna. I've had manicures, pedicures, waxes, and facials at this establishment and like Oliver Twist, I can only say, "Please, sir, can I have some more?" The hot stone manicure/pedicure is a real treat, particularly as you wait for your nails to dry, as your nail technician gives you a relaxing shoulder massage. I have no complaints with the wax I received, which was meticulous, if a bit pricey - but if you are familiar with my reviews you know my search for the perfect wax is more quixotic in nature than anything else. The facials have literally left my face feeling like silk for days after (and I love that they use Dermalogica products - which I think are fantastic!). If you are looking for the perfect way to pamper yourself and are kind of "meh" about Elizabeth Arden Red Door spas, this is a fantastic alternative. read more

My mom and I have been coming to this nail salon for 6-7 years. The owner, James, and his wife, Nicole, always welcome us with a smile and know our voices when we call to schedule an appointment. I don't know many places that would do that. They really work with us to get appointments when they are super busy. We usually use three of the many nail technicians; Lilly, Gina, and Tina. Lilly and Gina make sure to actually hold conversations with us in English, which is much appreciated. They give wonderful leg and back massages using hot stones that make you melt in your seat. My pedicures last me for a good month and a half (no paint chipping). The only thing that I get annoyed with is when we are given inexperienced technicians when we are paying top dollar. My advice is to ask for someone you like and trust. I look forward to enjoying many more countless years coming here and often recommend it to friends and family. read more

This is probably the second worst eyebrow wax I've ever had. The whole reason I do it is because I like not having to worry about shaping, it's quick, and is less painful than plucking. I struck out for two out of three. First of all, I could smell the cigarette stench on the woman's fingers. I don't know why I didn't just get up and leave because that is really disgusting. If they can't even figure out how beyond inappropriate that is, I don't trust them to be meticulous otherwise, especially with regard to sanitation. She proceeded to wax, and when I tried to explain how I liked it to look, she didn't understand me (language barrier). The usually brief plucking of a few stray hairs afterward was excruciating, to the point that I was tearing up. And it took forever! The whole point of waxing is to minimize plucking - why even bother to wax if you're plucking half the hairs? What a total waste of time and money (not cheap!) Service was meh, not friendly, not rude. I expected a lot more based on the reviews here. I've gotten great service elsewhere for a lot less. Don't let the location and size of this place fool you. The Diamond Spa is tucked quietly away on Historic Church st. in the heart of Vienna. It might be the best manicure/pedicure I have ever gotten. The best part? The hot rock massage that is complimentary. The only bad thing... it takes about 2-2.5 hours for the whole experience. So dont go unless you have nothing to do that day! By far the best nail salon in the Vienna area. Only "downside" is how long it takes, as others have mentioned. If you are getting a manicure and pedicure - definitely allow for 2 hours. However, this is only a reflection of how much attention they give you and how much time they spend on you. The best part of the treatments are the hot stone massages you get with them. My wife and I went to Diamond Spa as part of a Valentine's weekend getaway. We both were treated to a Swedish massage. My wife also received a mani/pedi and I received my first ever pedicure. The 60 minute massage was the best that my wife and I had ever been given. The tension from our entire body was massaged right out. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her mani/pedi which included a nice shoulder, leg and feet massage. I also really enjoyed my pedicure (which also included a nice leg and foot massage). The staff was friendly and professional, the massage room and mani/pedi stations were clean, the staff all wore masks and we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. We were not welcomed in a friendly manner. The 2 attendants were only able to indicate, "pick color" and no other words spoken as the attendants obviously could not speak English. They also rushed us out of the chair, causing one of toe nails to be ruined following pedicure. We do not recommend and will not return. Decided to get my nails done for prom last year so it was my first time doing this girl stuff. I was uncomfortable the whole time and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not use to it but I thought it would be a little more relaxing. They had these black stones they used and I thought they were going to beat me with them at first. They could at least tell me what there doing. When they were picking out stuff on my nails it would hurt like heck and some of my nails started to bleed. Not enjoyably for at the wonderful relaxing stories I hear. Anyways when I took of the nail polish the next day I found that my nails were yellow like I was a smoker and did drugs kind of yellow. I don't even do that kind of stuff. So at first I ignored it but about 2 months later there still yellow. My mom is Korean so she was able to speak to the employees. They said I just have weak nails but here I am a year later. My hands no longer have yellow nails but my feet do. It's so embarrassing to wear sandals because my toe nails look awful still. I haven't put any nail polish or anything on my nails for a year because I'm not sure if it will make it worst. read more

I have been going here for many years...the hot stone massage and neck massage after a manicure are amazing and I have never been to a place that does this It's a little pricey but worth it... My only concern is esthetic. For first time customers - they might think there is no attention to detail as there are several dead plants on the walls and ceilings. The whole place would look so much better if they would cut those dead vines back to The original pot. It really is distracting and I hope they understand that the live leaves all the way at the end of the vine are taking up the strength from the ones closest to the original plant pot. They were able to take my friend and I together as a walk in and right away we were taken care of. I enjoyed the manicure and pedicure very much. I tried Diamond Spa in Vienna for the first time exactly one week ago because I was waiting for my husband while he was in an appointment, needed my nails done, and saw the positive reviews on Yelp and decided to give this place a try. I will list the "pros and cons", but overall I am not satisfied because it has been only 7 days and my french gel manicure has chipped on three nails, and actually began chipping two days ago. It should be noted that I get a french gel manicure every two to three weeks, so I consider myself to be a pretty good judge of the quality of one. PROS: -Quaint, charming atmosphere: the salon itself is actually located in a house on Church street's commercial area. The atmosphere was a refreshing change from the strip-mall nail salons that are ever so prevalent. -Ease of scheduling: I was able to call at 5pm on a Saturday evening and get an appointment for 6pm. -Pampering: The nail technician massages your back and neck (incorporating the use of hot stones) while your nails are soaking- this is excellent! -Attention to detail: My nail technician, Jina, took her time with the entire manicure; especially painting the white tips, to ensure all my nails were all even and had no flaws. CONS: -Lack of supplies: Apparently the salon only has one each of gel top coat and base coat, as my nail technician and another customer's nail technician had to share them, and coordinate who was going to use what first, etc., and keep going to each others stations to retrieve the one they needed or swap. I found this to be absolutely ridiculous! -Quality: Despite Jina's attention to detail, which I appreciated, as I mentioned; my french gel manicure has chipped at the tips on three nails after ONE WEEK. When I go to my regular technician in Haymarket, my french gel manicures last two to three weeks without chipping. Please note that I have not changed my personal routine in any way that would contribute to my current gel manicure chipping. -Price: I am adding this in the cons only because of the quality of the gel manicure itself: I paid $50 (NOT including tip) for a french gel manicure. If the quality and lasting power of the manicure was good, I would not have minded at all paying that price because the overall experience was good. All in all, I really wish the manicure itself would have been better because I did enjoy my overall experience at Diamond Spa. The bottom line is, however, that when I go to get my nails done I expect to leave there with a manicure that lasts more than one week. Even a week and a half and I would not be complaining, but these nails started to chip after not even one week! I cannot justify returning to Diamond Spa for that reason. Perhaps my gel manicure fro Diamond Spa was a fluke and they usually last longer, but I will not be wasting any more of my money to find out! Hope this helps... read more

I've been going to Diamond Spa on and off for years for mani/pedis because I think they're the best - automatic hot stone massages on my legs and back each time - sign me up. However, this time I had a gift card and chose to get a facial. Honestly - it was the best treat I've ever given myself. A one hour facial with Jumee was pure bliss. I haven't had that many facials but hers included a neck, shoulder, upper back, and scalp massage in addition to all the wonderful face treatments - heavenly. Can't wait to schedule another. My daughter and I enjoyed a relaxing reflexology pedicure. The reflexology massage was amazing. Using wooden pegs, the technician applied pressure to various parts of the foot, intermittently massaging the areas treated. They truly understand reflexology unlike many other places I have gone to in the past. Unfortunately, the alcove room where we were sitting was chilly. When we expressed concern of the chill, the technicians looked at us but did nothing. They did nothing to make the experience extra special. It would have been nice if they helped put the massage chair on or gave us something to warm up when we were chilly. Stay away. This place is big on the spa services but can't cover the basics. I went in for a manicure and pedicure. They didn't buff my nail beds. They stabbed me in the fourth toe with the clippers, to the point I bled. And after all that, the woman at the front desk wouldn't take my credit card for the tip. She actually said she'd reach into my purse to get my cash out! My friend got me a giftcard for a manicure to this place and a school dance is coming up so I decided to try it out! The little store is so quaint and the inside is beautiful and completely relaxing! So for the manicure they give you a arm rub and massage complete with lotion and a hot towel after. Well, for the manicure i wasn't completely satisfied with it as it was a little smudgy around my nails and the lady didn't quite understand when I asked her to clean it up a bit. She did, but she still left some smears on the side. Maybe because my nails are so short, she painted some polish on the sides of my nails to make them seem longer? But other than that I was happy with the rest of it. Then after the lady painted my nails, i went over and dried my nails under a little cool heating pad and during that my nail lady gave me a shoulder, arm and neck massage that felt AMAZING, included with a hot stone treatment. So my summary of the trip was: My manicure wasn't completely satisfying so I'll probably be getting a pedicure next time (my sister's pedicure turned out really well), however the treatment was amazing and relaxing and the store was completely charming. I would come here again! P.S.- its a little pricey but the massage treatments are worth it! 18 for a manicure and 38 for a pedicure (crazy right?!). Me and my mother came here for a girls day. When we came in the attendant was not welcoming. They rushed us to our seats. During the pedicure foot massage the pedicurist was very rough. I told her to be a little more careful but she continued. Then I told her to stop massaging my foot but she rolled her eyes at me, leading me to believe she nor my moms pedicurist spoke English. My moms pedicure got messed up because they rushed us out of our seats and to the drying area and also out of the salon. They also do not practice cleanliness as I watched the pedicurist pick up a pumice stone after she dropped it on the ground and proceed to use it on me. I went to get a pedicure at Diamond Spa last week. I had no idea the prices until my toes were already being done. The massaging and oils put on your leg before hand is amazing but the actual pedicure was not the best. The women had to keep on redoing nails because she messed up. I enjoyed the treatment before hand but to pay $38 (including tax but not including tip) for what I got was ridiculous. I recommend that if you want a nice pedicure to go to Central Nails as it is $23 (including tax but not including tip) for better pedicures and manicures. I hate to write a negative follow up to a previous positive review, however, I feel like I must do so in this case. I've been coming to Diamond for a few years now and have always experienced amazing service. So much so that I've recommended the spa to many other people. The past visits have been lackluster at best and today's visit was flat our disappointing. Diamond is priced higher than its competitors but also distinguished themselves from the crowd by taking their time and proving exceptional service. Lately, however, the service level hasn't been consistent, ie brief, inattentive, and overall sloppy. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back: I called for reservation for 2 pedicures for my friend and I. I mentioned on the phone that it was my friend's first time at the spa. When we got there the spa was hosting an event, which was fine, however, the pedicure was exceptionally rushed. I was done before my friend and wanted to wait while sitting next her. I was asked to walk over to the nail drying area in order to vacate my seat. Then my friend and I were rushed after about 5 minutes of drying our toes - literally, urged to leave. I'm confused, why would you take my reservation when you don't have the time to actually provide the service? And why would you provide poor service to someone who has their first experience at the spa? All in all, I think I may still go back to Diamond, but it won't be any time soon. This place really is lovely. My mom and I have been coming here for years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. We get pedicures every time and the experience is delightful. Part of the pedicure is a very long massages using a scrub, oil, lotion, hot towels, and hot stones (all separately). The spa itself has a nice look to it and is very comfortable. The facials are also very good. They take their time and tailor the facial to your specific skin. Afterward, I feel like I can see a difference in my skin for quite awhile. I used to like this place, both for pedicures and massage, but then I went there once and had a terrible experience. I called the same day for a massage and was given an appointment. When I went upstairs to the massage room, the masseuse asked me if I liked it "hard or soft," a question I had never heard from a massage therapist before. I lay down and she proceeded to give me a massage, but in a rather odd way. The draping was all off - she exposed much more of my body than was necessary. She used hot stones without asking and never asked a single health question. Her English was limited. As the massage progressed and my suspicions grew, I asked her a few questions like "where did you train?" and "how long have you been working here?" I was given very vague answers. I had previously only had good experiences at Diamond Spa, though the ladies who work there never spoke much English, so I was hesitant to jump to any conclusions. At the end of the massage I went downstairs to pay. At check out I asked if the masseuse was licensed and if I could see her license. I was told that she was and the man who manages the spa went back in the office to get it. He came out and said that he couldn't find her license but could get it for me tomorrow if I called. He asked if there was a problem, and I told him my concerns. He said he wouldn't charge me if there was a problem, so I left. The next day I called and he gave me license number for this masseuse and said it was an "international number." I called the licensing board for the state of Virginia and they informed me that an "international license" was not valid in Virginia and that they weren't even aware of "international licenses." The name of the woman who gave me the massage was also not licensed. I made a few more phone calls to the local zoning board and police to report this, and was told that Diamond Spa wasn't even licensed in the town of Vienna to give massages. Either the zoning board or police were going to follow up on my complaint, but I never heard anything further. Apparently there was some confusion about who had jurisdiction over this complaint -- the zoning board or the police -- and after a few attempts to clarify this, I gave up. read more
