Just to see, I spent a day calling around for quotes. Some places wanted nearly $300/hr plus a long laundry list of hidden fees, and I thought there was no way it was worth it. But the last company I called was Sterling Interstate, and wow--what a breath of fresh air. We had already dealt with a lot of stress while closing on our first home, and we just needed a reliable team to cross the finish line. The moving industry doesn't always have the best reputation, so I was praying they'd be good--and they turned out to be the absolute best. Not only is their hourly rate very fair for the quality of work, but they also don't hit you with random fees. My husband and I had our home 95% packed and stacked, leaving them to navigate moving everything down a flight of stairs and prepping/packing the larger furniture. Since this was our first time hiring movers, we were blown away: they wrapped and packed everything like it was going cross-country! Even knowing it was only a 15-minute drive, they took zero chances with damage, and everything arrived completely untouched. I am terrible with names, so I've already forgotten the exact crew who came out, but they were AMAZING. On a brutally hot and humid July day in Arizona, they hustled nonstop for 6.5 hours. They took necessary breaks, but they worked so hard, all while cracking jokes with us and keeping the mood light. By the time they left, it felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Pro tip: If you hire movers in the AZ summer, please be kind--offer them cold water, sports drinks, and maybe some Rice Krispies Treats to keep them going! They saved us so much time and left us with the energy to unpack and settle in half the time it would have taken on our own. We are so thankful we went with Sterling Interstate. I don't even want to think about moving again, but it's a relief knowing exactly who we'll call when the time comes. 10/10 recommend!

Let me set the stage: My last move with a different company was so traumatic, I practically needed therapy. Broken items, stolen items, chaos, zero communication -- the whole nightmare. So this time, my anxiety was on HIGH ALERT. I was expecting disaster. Instead? I got the Avengers of moving. Day 1: Packing -- Enter Bryan, Antonio, & Johnny These three walked in like absolute professionals -- calm, respectful, not fazed by anything -- and immediately took control of the situation in the absolute BEST, most important way possible. They wrapped, sorted, labeled, and boxed my entire life with more care than I give my own children's artwork. They checked in when it mattered ("Do you want to keep this here?" "Should this go in the new pantry?"), but not in that annoying "I need guidance on every teaspoon" way. THEY JUST GOT IT. The perfect balance of independent and in-sync with me. And they worked. THE. ENTIRE. TIME. No breaks. No disappearing acts. No leaning on walls pretending to think. Just nonstop competence, kindness, integrity and respect. Day 2: Moving -- Add James & Daniel to the Squad Five movers total. Five absolute beasts. Five men who moved my entire house like they were in some kind of synchronized Olympic event I didn't know existed. They were lifting, gliding, maneuvering furniture through impossible angles like magicians. They protected my floors, my walls, my sanity -- everything. They placed things exactly where I wanted them without needing a map, a diagram, or 600 questions. And!! They asked just enough to keep me involved without pulling me into any chaos. At one point, I literally had a moment where I thought: "Is this... fun? Is moving ACTUALLY going well?" I didn't know that was possible. Quality over Quantity. Every. Single. Time. Yes, they cost more than the random Craigslist guys with a truck. And THANK GOD FOR THAT. This isn't a "you get what you pay for" situation. This is a you get MORE than what you pay for situation. They treated my home and belongings like their own. They moved like a well-trained unit. They clearly take pride in their work. And honestly? If I could've hugged each of them without making it weird, I would have. Bonus: A Patriotic, Veteran-Rooted Company The name "Moving Team Six" already gives special ops energy... and you can FEEL the discipline and pride behind their work. Good people. Good energy. There was no judgement with Valley Organizing and they came in with compassion and empathy and worked hard to get me my living space back! It was such a mental relief just seeing it all cleared out, organized, and even labeled! I just wish I could fold like they did so my dresser always looked like this! For 2 days they worked non-stop and always made sure I was comfortable and situated and feeling okay. Any time I needed a break they gave it to me but they still worked in the background. They showed up on time, worked quickly, and were incredibly kind and professional. I'm currently pregnant, so I wasn't able to do much myself, and they truly went above and beyond to support me. They listened closely, asked questions when needed, and made sure everything was placed how I would want it. They handled all of my belongings with care and even helped me locate specific items when I needed them (ex: a missing key). As we were packing we discovered the amount of items we needed to store were expanding. Judy realized they didn't have a 3rd unit and called several other local storage facilities in an attempt to help me locate one. When that didn't come to fruition, Judy emptied the unit they use to store their items for the facility and rented that to me as well. The place is clean and secure. Easily accessed. If I ever need storage again, I will call Greenway Mini Storage first. And I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks.

The main project I needed him to do he said it would take him 2 day 16hr to complete at 95 an hour. To me that seemed a bit odd, but I needed the work done so I scheduled with him. I decided to have 2 other licensed contractors come out for quotes for the exact same projects and ultimately had the project done by a different contractor and it took 1 person 4 hours to do what he said would take 16hrs to do. So woman reading this review beware, seems to me he was really trying to take advantage of me oh and then he says at the end he charges $15 trip changes. I don't know if he was truly capable of doing job or not what I do know is that he was definitely trying to overcharge me. He also never took any measurements he didn't have a notepad to write down any of the projects that I wanted completed. Maybe he's great at doing small projects that don't require much. But I am very glad that I decided to get more quotes. Because if I would have went with him I would have paid four times as much for him to do the work.

I explained the situation to Response Crew and I was relieved to receive reassurances from the manager of Response Crew that he'd send one of his best door guys out and that we would not be disappointed. The manager also called back twice to make sure we were happy with the job. Although I missed those voice messages I figure posting about my experience here will make up for that. It's always tough when you are trying to hang a new door on an old frame that may not be perfectly straight anymore. And yes only time will tell if the fit holds. But I will say that even if we do have another problem in the future, I know where to go - Response Crew is a no brainer and for sure I'll be a repeat customer for future needs!

Her positive attitude is contagious. She helped me with my storage needs. She was very thorough. She walked me through the property. The property is very nice. It looks brand new and extremely clean. It is centrally located, and unlike most climate controlled facilities. That one is actually cold inside. One of the things I noticed while touring the property was Renee knew all the renters that were on the property by name. I thought was wonderful. Throughout my three visits to the property to Renée was on site. One thing I will mention is being a store manager. I seen her personally with the cleaning cart and gloves on cleaning storage units cleaning as well as the facilities. As a manager myself, I thought her leading my example was amazing. She also checked on me to make sure I was doing OK because it was hot outside while unloading my U-Haul unit. She's very hands-on. She has a great personality. This store facilities is a very lucky to have her. I would highly recommend the facility based off of how clean it is, how well kept it, it's very centrally located in Phoenix. And of course, because of Renee.

I was looking for a recycling center that accepts soda cans, soda glass bottles and plastic water…read morebottles. This place only accepted my soda cans. They just don't accept plastic or glass bottles here. This place looks like a dump but the customer service is very fast and efficient. Most of the workers here are Spanish speaking so hopefully you can make out what they tell you. My Spanish is Sykes rusty so I only understood 5% of what they said. All in all, this was a pleasant experience. Obviously, you're not gonna get rich by recycling anything but it does give you some pocket change to maybe buy a lottery ticket or two. I don't recall what the exact redemption value was for bringing in your unwanted cans for cash but I got around 50 cents for maybe 1.5 lbs of soda cans. Almost enough for a $1 lottery scratcher. The workers here will unload your trunk for you and weigh it all and than give you the proper amount of money. Fast service and you don't even need to lift a finger besides opening your trunk that is. I'm from Hawaii and back home, you can actually pay a utility bill or cell phone bill with your recycling money. Not here in Phoenix, it's a totally different process here so I'm gonna start trashing all my recyclables instead. Hope this helps my fellow planeteers!!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the moving services provided by Familiar Movers Inc. I recently moved from Texas to Florida, and my experience with Familiar Movers Inc. was nothing short of a nightmare. The service provided was poor, and the customer service was horrible. A complete inventory was provided in advance and confirmed before the move timeframe. The price doubled when the movers arrived. The company knew we had to leave the house the next day, yet they assured us they could finish the job. To begin with, some of my furniture was missing, and many other items were severely damaged during the move. These were valuable pieces that I was counting on having in my new home. Additionally, the only employee that arrived to pack our goods had to post an ad on Craigslist to find help. We were initially told it would take two days to pack our furniture, but the time frame was changed to one day. Furthermore, they brought used and poor-quality supplies to pack my household goods, which did not protect my belongings as they should have. We were overcharged for services that were not provided, and the delivery was delayed, causing significant inconvenience. We followed the company's methods to submit a claim that would take almost $13,000 to repair or replace the damaged property. They responded with an offer of $81.00. I am incredibly disappointed with the service. read more

So I just settled into my new place and I want to take the time to thank family movers for making my move extremely easy and a complete joy. The day of the move they showed up on time. From the very beginning they displayed a great attention to detail, professionalism and exceptional customer service. I had all my belongings pre-packed in boxes and ready to go. So the day of the move everything was extremely quick and efficient. I noticed the attention to detail when I saw them completely covering and wrapping all of my belongings to to ensure that none of my belongings were going to be damaged. When we arrived at my new home they unloaded extremely quick brought everything into my home once that was done offered to set up my bed and even offered to hang art or mount my TV. So when these guys tell you they do it all they actually do it all and mean it. Again I want to say thanks or family movies and I want you to know that you have a customer for life. We just used Family Movers at the suggestion of a realtor friend, and can't be more pleased with their service. The two guys (Andrew & Alex) that moved many tons of heavy furniture with professional ease, were fast and efficient. I told them that watching anything done well is like viewing fine art, and their speed and precision as well as the care that they took in padding every piece was art! Alex and his team are the best at what they do. They were very flexible and worked around my schedule, and had a fast turnaround time for picking up my furniture. When they arrived, my furniture was thoroughly wrapped in moving blankets and securely stored in their truck. It was impressive to watch them maneuver my giant dining table through my doorway with no damage to the house or the table. I highly recommend Family Movers. I hired them to move a 4 bedroom house worth of stuff. They arrived on time, were conscientious with my belongings (they wrapped mattresses, couches, etc in plastic and made sure to wrap up any glass table tops and breakables that weren't packed), and placed everything exactly where I asked. They even helped carry the patio furniture around the back. Their pricing was reasonable and they did the whole move in about 5 hours in the middle of July, which is pretty impressive. Awesome! This company is very professional but also very friendly! They were on time, even early! Even though they were moving my furniture only a few miles, they quickly & carefully wrapped it for transport. They definitely knew what they were doing. Received referral to these movers through Restoration Hardware Outlet store and was very pleased with the job they did. Not only did furniture arrive carefully bundled in blankets, but they carefully assembled a twin bunk bed unit upon delivery as well. Big Thank You to Ricky and Louis for delivering our very heavy furniture to the second floor of our house. We hired this company to help unload our PODS. Paul and Jesse arrived on time ready to work. They were very efficient and responded well to our requests regarding placement of furnishings and such. They were very friendly and careful, and worked very hard with no problems at all. They worked great as a team for the bigger items. read more

The person I spoke with on the phone to get the quote and book the service was polite and didn't try to oversell me. I booked about 1.5 months in advance and had no issue getting my preferred date. Today the movers arrived. They can arrive between 9-11a and came at exactly 9. Both of the men were polite and careful with all my belongings. They took apart my bed from for me and wrapped some fragile things. They were also very quick. I am a single person that was moving from one unit to another in a large complex (so they loaded everything into the truck and then unloaded it). It took them about 1.5 hours (they charge a 2 hour minimum). Overall, great company. I would use them again and recommend them.

Instead of packing in boxes, all of which I provided, but asked them to bring more, which they didn't, they threw my things in black garbages bags so I couldn't even see what was in them. My furniture looks like it came from a scratch & dent store now. They ruined my television because they didn't put it in the TV box that I bought for it and I also bought three wardrobe boxes which they also didn't use! They wrapped my clothes in dirty moving blankets (which they should have used for my furniture) and threw them in the truck. Hung some of them at the new place, the rest are on the floor. I had my boxes labeled so I knew where to put them...they didn't read what was on the boxes. Now, I have to move boxes which I paid them to do. All around bad experience. Good value for the money, but you get what you pay for!

Even though I agreed to a specific timeframe, they changed it until we finally agreed to a timeframe for them to come to my apartment. On the day of my move, I found out through the dispatcher that they put the wrong address so I had to correct that. The dispatcher assured me they would be on time but when they weren't, I called again. The dispatcher gave me the number to the trucker. The trucker told me he was working for a different company and then told me what time he would show up to my place. He never did. At that point, they were 2 hours and 30 minutes late. I was livid at all the lies and the incompetent behavior going on. It got to the point where I felt like my property would not be safe in their hands considering that the dispatcher and trucker were working for 2 different companies. It was extremely shady and I cancelled it. It made the entire day extremely stressful as I had to figure out a way to move my things after such a horrible experience here. Note that the owner even messaged me to ask me to write a good review about this place before the service even happened. I've written over 900 reviews on this site and I've never encountered an owner who personally tried to convince me to write a good review before they even complete their end of the bargain. Stay very far from this place if you value your time and property.

I buy most of my furniture at good furniture stores and I take pride in my pieces. My walnut dinning table was carved into and ruined, my teak breakfast table had dents all over the place. Almost every piece of mine had something wrong with it. They showed up with no blankets or covers they dirtied my mattress because they didn't have covers in a rented uhaul. It seemed like they had just quit their "normal" jobs and just starting moving from one day to another. They were late, charged me by the hour and when I would check up on them they would be standing around just talking. I regret using them every day since I have to stare at the damage they caused.
