When I booked services for hanging art, I was told the hourly charge was $165. The men who provided the service were very professional and did an excellent job. They were here for 1.5 hours and my total was $495. When I contacted the company, I learned they have a minimum 2 hours charge, plus 1 hour travel. Several new car stereos were missing. Gouged a hole in my wall moving in the love seat. Took a month and a half to deliver my items. I was told the day after my items were picked up that I needed to resign all contracts, now so My items could be loaded that day. They couldn't wait for me to finish my drive from az to NM. I pulled over and e-signed the contract. So they could load my items. Which didn't happen for another month and a half. Do not use this company. You will regret it, Big time!!!!! read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY from this company! They had great service until the moving day actually came and they broke my desk, left numerous scratches on my dryer, and broke a storage bin of mine. Prior to hiring them I asked them numerous times if they had insurance to take care of anything that was broken or damaged. They said yes. I expressed to them numerous times my bedroom furniture was fairly new and that some of the pieces were heavy to please take good care of it. They said no problem, we will wrap and secure every item very well and told me they basically have a white glove service. It has been since 4/29 that this has happened and NO ONE has resolved my issues with the broken desk. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Family Movers wants you to have an open checkbook for moving charges. Unlike other movers, they DO NOT stand by their quote as the total moving price (I've moved locally and interstate 7 times in the last 17 years and every moving company honored their quote as the total amount for the move). These people charged me $2,700 just for packing and packing materials. Of the $2,700, $1,200 was for packing materials. I packed many items myself and purchased my own boxes, paper, a huge bolt of bubble wrap and tape. I also purchased 2 large TV moving boxes. There is no way they used $1,200 of packing materials in my 1,600 SF townhouse. They also left some items in one of my kitchen cabinets, did not remove a glass table top before wrapping the table, did not pad my furniture (used thin plastic wrap) and did not pack my TVs securely. When I called them to let them know about these things, Jeff scolded me for letting his guys leave before doing a walk through to look through EVERY cabinet in my house. He said they do not have TV boxes. So I said I would purchase TV boxes for them to use when they came back. All of my packed up items are still in my townhome because I had construction and wanted everything packed before I sold my townhouse. Also, I made 2 appointments with Family Movers and they showed up more than 30 minutes early both times. They wanted to start packing around 7:00 am even though our appointment was for 8:00 am (my HOA does not allow trucks/workers before 8:00 am). For reference on how much household goods I have to move; in December 2020, Dircks Moving charged me $1,492.00 TOTAL to pack AND move me approximately 5 miles and I had more furniture then. Prices have gone up, but not that much. I contacted Jeff to find out what it would cost to move the packed items to storage. I told him what Dircks charged me. I wanted to know how much more I would be paying Family Movers to move my items. He was defensive and started yelling. He went on and on about how he came back a second time and how he told me what the hourly fee is. He told me he didn't want to move my items since I was questioning his open checkbook quote which is fine with me. He ripped me off, but the rip off would be worse if he moved my items. read more

Please try to avoid these movers. They are worthless. They came to my storage unit to pick up furniture for iconsign furnishing and damaged my mirror. I told the heavy guy named Alex that the mirror was extremly heavy and he should get help. I think he underestimated how heavy it was and dropped one side of the mirror causing it to break. I called his brother, who is the other owner and said he wasn't going to pay for it because his brother didn't do it. Family sure sticks together like glue. Second, they decided to cancel the job and left me stranded with all the furniture outside the storage unit. What kind of business does this shit. The sketchy type. Watch out for these movers that really don't look fit enough to move a book. In response to your comment: you weren't there. So you are pretty much talking out of your ass. It's admirable that you would cover for your brother seeing that you are boss#1 and he's boss#2. The mirror was intact and your brother dropped it. Why would he return to the storage unit to see footage of what took place if he wasn't guilty? He wanted to make sure he wouldn't get caught. Purchased overpriced items from Restoration Hardware and recommended as the go to delivery company. Called Alex, awesome on phone and set up delivery same day. Called 40 minutes out with ETA. Very nice men on delivery with big smiles. Took the items wrapped up like Christmas presents in bubble wrap, wrap, tape.....blankets upstairs ( very heavy items ) and set up in exact places. Walls, painting, crown molding all in perfect shape. Cleaned up packaging and were friendly and engaging. Said they deliver whole homes of furniture as well and will use them on next round from Chicago to Phoenix. Have forwarded their contact information to friends moving from LA to Scottsdale. Great group of people all the way through from how the phone is answered to how the big truck is parked as to not interfere with the neighbors to how they said goodbye. The bed was huge and heavy, the guys from Family Movers made easy work of wrapping each individual piece in blankets, transporting the bed to our home in Scottsdale and assembling it. Wow, what a great group of guys. I had a specialty item, that needed to be moved from one location to another. For those of you familiar with a Rolltop Desk...solid oak! This piece of furniture is big and heavy!! Has to be close to 400 pounds. These 2 men did it with great ease.
