Crab Soup and Lump Crab Cake
    Deweyne L.

Being from LA, a few of my friends from the DMV were so serious about Faidley's Crab Cakes that they'd have them flown in for special occasions. Had my first taste about 15 years ago and hadn't had them since. Finally making it to the legendary Lexington Market to try them again was a genuinely special moment. The crab cake was incredible, fresh and loaded with lump crab meat the whole way through. The crab soup was great too. But it was the whole experience, the food, the history, the vibe of Lexington Market, that really made it.

Quick service, but standing tables and counters only. The crab cake was full of crab, very little filling and not dry at all! The fries were a bit plain, but I did enjoy the mac and cheese. Overall, the food was good, but it was a bit pricey.

Stayed nearby and heard that the Lexington market is the place to go. Was also recommended to come to Faidley's. The crab cake was sooo good. The crunchiness on the outside made it have so many layers of flavor. We tried the oysters too. They opened the oysters right in front of you. I asked how to eat it and got detailed instructions on how to eat oysters this way~ it was good as well. We were debating which soup to get. The nice lady gave us some samples so that we can taste them beforehand.

The best crab cake in Baltimore. Bar none. Mac and cheese was well seasoned and delicious. I also enjoyed the deviled eggs. But seriously, get the crab cake, maybe two. They're perfect.

Finally got up Crab spot 3 while on the crab crawl and it wasn't bad. I'd say the Crabcake is 2nd on the list only because of the temperature and shell pieces. Service was great. The lady who took our order explained items and gave great recommendations. The ambiance was cool. Definitely keep in mind they have table tops and no chairs. There is seating outside on the patio. The market is very unique and I would come back and try the blue crab and other seafood.

This stop during my trip to Baltimore was well worth it. Went for the gold and ordered the Jumbo crab cake platter. Had G&M a few days ago which I thoroughly enjoyed, but this one may be my new favorite so far. I really wanted to try the raw oysters as well but I was too full for it, I may go back and try them before heading back home. I watched plenty of YouTube videos on Faidley's and I must say it was well worth the hype. The ladies working here were so sweet and helpful, they certainly enhanced the experience.

The soft shell crab sandwich hit the spot! I was craving seafood and I was surprised by the options. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich platter and chose pickled cucumbers and Mac & Cheese. The staff were patient and very kind since I have my kids with me. I felt very welcomed by the friendly Staff. The Natty Bo was prefer pairing with the sandwich. I love the atmosphere as it felt in I was stepping into history here! I loved all the photos and memorabilia. There is also a counter to order crabs to go as well!

Wow, the seafood here is absolutely incredible! In a small mall like building with lots of other restaurants. Tried the crabcake, catfish, shrimp, and fries. The crabcake was LEGIT and probably the best I've had in my life. That catfish was also worth the try and was very surprised by the taste of it, man, this place is great!! Whenever I'm back in Baltimore I'll be going back here cus wow!! The reason for the 4 stars was the customer service, I didn't like that there was a cashier that was very rude. I understand it's busy but also important to make customers feel good

Who was the richest woman here for lunch? Crab cake was given to me within five minutes. Along with this food service was quick effortless. Lexington market is historically a very eventful place.

I love the crabcakes from here! They were very moist, well seasoned, and crispy on the outside. It had a good amount of crab meat as opposed to just filling. For the sides I got the collard greens and the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was OK. I don't think I would get it again - it was kind of mushy and lacked any depth of flavor. The collard greens were pretty good although they lacked a bit of acidity. I would like to try the coleslaw next time. The service was pretty fast. They have an assortment of sauces on the side that you can bring to your table, including ketchup, hot sauce, and cocktail sauce. They have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options as well. They have high top tables indoors, but nowhere to sit and eat. Faidley's is located in Lexington market so you have to rely on either street parking or their garage.

Why this place only has a 4 rating is a mystery. However, I admit I haven't tried but 1 thing from them. I come for and only order the crab cakes. I wish I had room in my tummy for the oysters on the half shell too but I don't. so I stick with my FAV-the crab cakes. If these aren't the best crab cakes in the USA, please tell me where this other place is so I can go there too. You order from the counter, pay, and get a ticket # for your food. Your crab cake come off the line directly to you. You eat standing up at one of their bars with condiment on the bar. It's been done that way for years, traditional now. Part of the Faidley's seafood experience. Aferall, you're in a food market. If eating in a market, standing up ain't your thing go eat 2nd rate crab cakes in a sit down restaurant elsewhere. I love the entire experience and the ambiance. There is paid tiered parking nearby. I live closer to DC than here. I stope here anytime I am in a 20 mile radius to B'more.

Faidley's is a good option for crab cakes on this side of town. Newly opened after a remodel last summer, the newly renovated space hosts a social and dining atmosphere with dedicated seating for Faidley's customers. You can find all of your fish, shellfish, and oysters and clams, and other seafood complements here. The crab cakes were good and certainly a great value compared to competitors in Baltimore, however I would not consider them the best. The customer service was good. The ordering process is also easy as the menu items are very easy to understand. Note: many of their seafood items, like crab cakes, will be sold at market price, so anticipate fluctuating prices through the season. You can also purchase ready-to-broil crab cakes and other seafood and sides that are sitting on ice. Overall, this is a very good experience and certainly one to try for seafood at Lexington Market.

Amazing crab cake. Super tasty sides. The Lexington Market is such a happening place, and I'm so glad I got to try the crab cake platter at Faidley's seafood. They've got beers on tap and good food. I wish they had more seating area though. My friends and I hung out at the high tables while eating and chatting. But the seating arrangements aren't the most comfortable to stay there long.

Ask the Community - Faidley's Seafood

16 dollars for a small crab cake? Worth it?

I found cheaper crab cakes in Baltimore but they contain fillers, Faidley's crab cakes do not have any, the area and the market itself are very sketchy though

How does this place compare to Koco's for crab cake?

I believe that the Faidley version is more seasoned than the Koco version. The Koco version is just the crab meat. Both crab cakes contain no filler and if I only had one choice, I'd eat the Faidley version.

How many ounces is their jumbo lump crab cake?

    6.5 oz

Are they open on Memorial day?

    yes!

And I love that they give back to the community in areas such as education, community and philanthropy. Stopped in this past Saturday with a bunch of my gym friends. I love that their tap list offers a little bit of everything for everyone, from classic lagers and IPA to house ciders. I am a Pilsner girl, so their Pilsner was my fave. I love that they do weekly events such as Trivia and open mic nights to name a few as well as host a few several food trucks out back. Oh and this is the spot where they have that really nice flea market as well. You have to check their Instagram page to see which food trucks will be serving food. Saturday they had empanadas from Aru Aru, which were very yummy and made fresh to order. Best spot if you are a beer connoisseur, great place for happy hours and is accommodating for large parties. Plus you bring your own cards and board games to play as well. I will so definitely return.

The old church and architecture is so warm and inviting-- it was still decorated and lit for Christmas so it felt extra festive. It WAS weird to see the brew tanks at the front of the old church, where the altar would have been. But it also places the beer on the altar of our Friday night so I was OK with that. I had an American Pale Ale, the husband had a Kolsch. My beer was exceptional and delicious. My husband said the kolsch was OK. They also have a cute space with books and board games! As well as a cool merchandise wall with excellent cool t-shirts. I had to restrain myself. There is no kitchen or food served here. Order at the bar and sit where you want, there are plenty of tables and a lot of elbow space. The folks at the bar are Super Nice and you should tip them well. They told me there is usually a food truck that shows up at an undisclosed time in the evening. We did order some fantastic pretzels (w/ smoked gouda) and waited some more but ultimately had to go find a meal elsewhere. We will be back, perhaps in warmer weather to wait out the food truck and have more beer. Also, we were there for happy hour so our beers were $5! Thank you to all of the kind people at The Ministry of Brewing! We will be back.

What a fun brewery!…read more My brother had a birthday gathering here this year - we were able to comfortably seat a group of 15-20 people in the outdoor picnic section area. Highly recommend this spot for groups looking for a place to gather and socialize. The space is deceivingly large; there are multiple indoor spaces all within a quick stride from a long bar with dozens of beer taps. The outdoor space is even larger than what's available indoors; their vast street level patio/deck space is full of picnic tables and benches that are perfect for larger groups when the weather is nice. And yes, their outdoor patio is pet friendly. While the brewery itself doesn't serve food, there was a food truck (that looked to be there quite often) set up in the outdoor area that had several good options. I had their burger and fries which was exactly what I needed after an afternoon of brews. The beer itself was tasty; I had several of their hazy IPA's which I've grown to enjoy. They also offer a very solid selection of N/A beer options; some of the folks in our group enjoyed them and gave them great reviews. I didn't get a chance to check out the arcade portion of the brewery, but yes, this is a barcade as well. When we arrived, we were seated right away, but it seemed like there were very few staff working--possibly only one waiter. It took about 10 minutes before we finally had to flag him down just to place our order. The food then took around 25-30 minutes to come out, which felt very long since we were on a tight schedule for our flight. When the food finally arrived, I ordered the macaroni and cheese, and unfortunately it was the worst mac and cheese I've ever had. I don't want to be mean, but it was very bland and really needed salt. My sister surprisingly liked it, but it just wasn't for me at all. The rest of my family did enjoy their meals, and I thought the fries were decent, just lightly seasoned. My mom especially liked the grilled cheese. The waiter himself was nice and kept our drinks refilled, so I don't think the long wait was entirely his fault. The restaurant is very cute inside with cozy, old-style vibes and festive Christmas decorations, which I really liked. However, between the long wait times, the limited menu, and my disappointing mac and cheese, I wouldn't recommend that dish. Overall, it's a charming place, but the service was too slow for us--especially when trying to catch a flight.
