If you want a plate full of condescension and impatience, come here... We went for restaurant week. The food was decent, nothing phenomenal, the service was atrocious. The server was unbelievably condescending and rude. The food came out slowly, which I know is not the the servers fault but he didn't bother attending to us unless bringing us food. At one point, the food was taking so long a few of my friends changed seats so we could converse more comfortably with our other friends who were seated further away. He rudely told us to "get back in our seats". This is an upscale restaurant, not effing kindergarten. Ask politely if we wouldn't mind going back to our seats or simply ask who got which dish. Which honestly, should not have been difficult since out of 8 of us, we all had similar tastes and ordered either the fettuccine or the linguine. Maybe he had a bad day, but we wanted you to serve us dinner not your terrible attitude. The food wasn't even close to being good enough to come back to be treated so poorly. Just say NO. read more

Okay, let me start out by saying the bread they give you in the beginning is seriously the best bread i've ever had in my entire LIFE! Seriously just couldn't get enough of it. The service was 'good' but not excellent (we were in need several times with no waiter in sight - I say this based on the level of restaurant this place is). The ambiance is cool, sort of moody which is pleasant (the bar area seems like the place to be after sitting in the dining area for our meal). My wife ordered the lobster ravioli and it was really good with hints of truffle so she was pleased, as was I. I ordered the 100 layer lasagna at the recommendation of our server and it was truly flat. The lack of flavor was confusing. It's a bunch of pasta layers with very little in between (it's 100 of them in a single piece so not much room for anything) and a little bit of meat/sauce ladled on each side with a dollop of ricotta on top. The taste was just, for a lack of better words, bland. I LOVE Italian food especially high-end Italian. I only felt the need to write this review because the piece of lasagna, alone, was $40. It was every bit of a $15-$17 plate so it left us wanting for more out of the dish as a whole. Definitely would come back for a drink and some bread but wouldn't return for the food. Don't waste your money. Food had no flavor. The Italian wedding soup was awful. Service was very slow. Terrible wine list. We had an early evening reservation on a Saturday night and they were already out of calamari. You're an Italian restaurant, should you be out of calamari? Nice spot for a date or special occasion. Make a reservation, as seating is pretty limited. The food is on the pricey side, but it's good (the 100 layer lasagna is seriously awesome), and the portions are generous. Can not recommend this restaurant. First, the $$ on Yelp needs to be redone. This is an expensive place. Both the wine and the food seem to be overpriced. The is no pounded veal cutlet even with the "parmigiana" on the planet that warrants a $50 price tag. The bolognese pasta was dry even by bolognese standards. The special ravioli must have been really special because it was really rationed. There was more butter on the plate than ravioli, which was cut in half to make it look like there was more. The ambiance and wait staff had potential, but when the restaurant filled up the decibel level was overwhelming and the waiter became scarce. read more

My husband and I ate at Fachini for the first time last night and loved every minute of it! We sat in the bar area which was nice (quieter, more casual, more natural light). The complimentary antipasta they brought out at the beginning of the meal was amazing - especially the garlic bread, fresh ricotta, and pickled veggies. We ordered the 100 layer lasagna and the vodka rigatoni. Both were excellent! The lasagna was lite despite all those layers and the rigatoni had a nice spice to it. They were huge portions so prepare for yummy leftovers! For dessert, we split the carrot cake. Rich and heavenly! Fastest service we've had in awhile but definitely an expensive dinner. It has been on our list of places to try and we finally did for our anniversary. We were very impressed with the food and the quality of the service. I could tell from the attentiveness of the young hostess that the front of house was definitely well managed. With our first bite, we realized the kitchen was equally on point. We started with lobster ravioli and calamari, both of which were excellent. Two in our party actually ordered the ravioli again for their entrees because it was so good. I had the rigatoni which was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We ended the evening with a carrot cake that rivaled my favorite carrot cake recipe. The red wine list was strictly Italian of which I am not terribly familiar so I let my server guide me to the correct glass after trying a few different options. It is a great location with a very cozy feel. The wood burning oven overlooks the main dining room. They also have a small bar area with a few tables should you want to grab a quick bite or just a drink. We will definitely be back very soon. read more

They know how to make pasta. The rigatoni is excellent as is the meatball. The eggplant rollitini and the calamari are also excellent. The lasagna is sweeter than I like, and the bread is cosi cosi but overall this place delivers excellent Italian American cuisine. read more

I expected so much more. The menu was limited (only one fish entree). My date ordered the lobster ravioli appetizer and it was covered with tomato sauce and cheese (no creativity at all)...he didn't eat it as he said it was much too rich for an appetizer and not very good. I had the beet salad and tried really hard to like it, but the flavors just didn't work. I also had the pork chop and it was seasoned well and had good flavor, but was a bit over cooked and tough. The biggest turn off for me was the music. They were playing classic rock (totally inappropriate dinner music for fine dining) and it was so loud we had to shout at each other to have a conversation. Absolutely incredible experience! The food is delicious, generously-sized portions to share with the table. All staff is professional, prompt & exceptionally nice in the most genuine way. It was our 22 anniversary! i agree with The fact that doesn't look like much when you walk in... is cramped!! But first and foremost the staff (with the exception of a few hostesses) it was our anniversary my husband took me there on a late reservation (later than when we usually eat dinner) 9:30 p.m out table wasn't read, it was ok to wait a few minutes (we had a drink standing up at the bar) after some time we were transferred to the main dining room table where our server stopped by and quickly gave us a small paper saying these are the specials for tonight!!??? Ok... not greeting, whom are you? Name? And then I smiled and look at him, and said "May I please have a black napking ? His immediate reply was "I don't know if we have black napkins, and if we do it will take me a while to get it for you" what kind of server says that on a fine dining restaurant????!!! I ask him fir his manager, he started to talk back to me saying "you want to see her because I told you that it will take me some time to get that napking...? " at that point I was SO mad that I just replied "Get your manager to this table right now!" She immediately came, and had the black napkin already with her! So it wasn't that hard to get it right? I told her about it so she got us another server, which was knowledgeable, and precise! our table was in front of patio doors, I ended up switc chairs because it was incredibly cold every time they would go throug! we ordered the calamari as an appetize, we had beet salad, the artichokes, veal parmigiana (me) lemon chicken (husband) we had the tiramisu for dessert ! We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay, and and expreso martini at the end! we spent more then $300 plus tip; never once again we were checked in by no one that night about the flow of our service... that has a lot to think about after what happened in the beginning... I got sick in the middle of the night that night (around 2:00 a.m throwing u, and headaches) I stayed in my bathroom until the next morning-it was horrible!!- We would definitely not recommend this place!!! We've been here twice and love the decor and the atmosphere; lively but not too loud (and definitely not stuffy). The creamed corn, rigatoni alla vodka, & bolognese are all wonderful- not to mention the cocktails, bread (phenomenal!) and desserts. We will definitely be back for more! read more

Dined there twice now and both were outstanding experiences. The wine list is all Italian (which I don't always like) and overpriced compared to other places (which I also don't like). I love all of Barsotti's restaurants, and this one is excellent. The beet and gorgonzola salad was really unique, especially with the added bacon and avocado. My penne vodka was excellent, and dad had a special with tiny rigatoni, sausage and greens that was really light (I wish I had gotten it!). We went to this place for dinner. Unfortunately the table for four about fifteen feet away from the big mirror wall just on the left side is what we got. My be it was because we were not regulars or whatever. Several times passing servers bumped into my chair because of limited space. This place has sort of decor that you would find in Little Italy or some part of Brooklyn or Bronx. The same people own three of four other restaurants and I have been to one on Maple and really enjoyed the food. This place is expensive but considering where they are and the type of atmosphere they have, I would expect to pay more. We ordered three of the specials. wine selection by the glass is good but expensive as expected. Quality of food was very good. The waiter knew about famous places in New York. Unfortunately one of the servers spilled sauce from one of the dishes on the dress of someone in my party. She was very uncomfortable as the server had been very generous with his spill. She was polite and did not cause a scene but did let the waiter know what happened. We got a very mild insincere apology and then they poured some extra wine in her glass. I would have expected a visit from manager. I would expect some fake concern and show of remorse. No such luck. Considering where they are located I don't expect them to hurt from my review but I think I will call them and dispute the tip since these people need to know that just because someone looks a little different and does not look like a "regular" in their place they should not ignore them. I will not be returning to this place. If you are visiting from out of town, avoid this place. You can get better Italian food elsewhere. Dallas has many great restaurants and there is no sense in coming all the way to eat Italian food to Dallas. This appears to have been a systemic issue at this place and not just some random event. Space around this table is narrow and I cannot imagine this is the first accident and such cold response. Addendum 08/09/2018 Restaurant manager did contact the person who was affected and offered to by a new dress. As far as I know it has been declined by the person. On a positive note, the manager accepted responsibility and wished that he had handled the situation differently. As suspected this was new help and it s harder to find trained staff at most places. As mentioned in the review I do not have any issue with the food or the waiter. As long as you sit on a good table, I think you will have a good experience. I did eat at a local well known new french restaurant and I would say this place is not cheap or expensive compared to other expensive fine dining places! I hope they stay in business because i like their place on Maple a lot! read more

Every aspect of my dining experience was beautiful. The place is gorgeous, the staff is attentive and friendly and the food is phenomenal. It's the simple things that blew me away- I didn't know I could have the most delicious tomato sauce or house made ricotta ever while in Texas. I thought you had to travel to New York to get it. The decor of Fachini is charming, warm, and old-world with a modern twist. I was really looking forward to dining at Fachini because two of my daughters had raved about it for so long. Of course we had a wonderful time and our waiter was so delightful. However, I had one of the worst entrees in my life! I should've chosen one of the pastas but unfortunately I did not. I ordered Veal Parmigiana. The presentation was so ugly that I could'nt even look at it--the cutlet had been pounded so much that their was almost no meat and on top was a massive fried bone. There was no marinara sauce on top but cooked into the cutlet. Therefore, a large flat plate-size red serving of veal with white mozarella dotted, no sauce, cutlet with a large fried bone on top. It was also $50, a waste of money and appetite. My daughters did enjoy their pasta and fish. I'd like to return and try another entree since the restaurant is so pretty. The Veal Parmigiana should be taken off the menu because Fachini really has a good reputation and I'd hate to miss out on a great experience because of this poor choice. 7/14/2018. Our first time here. Attracted by our boundless love of Nonna's and the very high ratings of this new place, 4 people tried 4 drinks, 2 bottles of wine, shared 3 appetizers and ordered 3 different entrees. The calamari and eggplant appetizers were ok, but in no way special. The toasted lobster ravioli was tried by all and most of this offering was left untouched. Except for the sole, the entrees were extraordinarily disappointing especially the veal parmigiana. This item was highly recommended and was truly ample portion wise. It was less than unremarkable, being bland and ordinary in the extreme. Drinks and wine were good. Service was reasonable, but uneven and oddly awkward. Server seemed desperately uninformed on multiple fronts. While I agree with the many reviews noting the "top quartile" pricing, we are willing to pay if the food and service are "top quartile". The food absolutely fell compellingly short. Period. I hope they listen and adjust living up to the exemplary standards set by Nonna's. read more
