I really thought I had left a review about our experience on Christmas Day but I couldn't find it. Let's just say it made me hesitant to want to try again but I am so glad I did!! First, this is a lovely restaurant with the whole indoor/outdoor eating experience although today was all indoor due to the storms. Next, unlike last time, the staff was beyond exceptional. We had Mother's Day plans elsewhere and less than an hour before we were to leave my husband looked at his email that we had been refunded the full amount due to them changing their minds and not doing a buffet. So, this was his first call and they were very accommodating to get us in right away. The food was so delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection. The food at the buffet was always stocked and hot! Then the desserts....that tiramisu is some of the best I've ever had! I'm so glad we tried again! I will definitely be back. Dolce Riviera is one of the best coastal Italian spots in Dallas. If you want quality and authentic Italian inspired seafood, this is the place to try. For food, my friend and I shared the market oysters (6 oysters included in one order) which are flavored with fennel mignonette, horseradish, calabrian chili cocktail, and lemon. Individually, I ordered the linguine alle vongole (linguine pasta with clams, calabrian chili butter, and herbs) and it was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. It was light, slightly creamy, but tasted so delicious. It wasn't too much portion wise and it felt digestible and not something that would make you feel bloated after eating, which I highly appreciated. I would love to go back and try the Cacio e Pepe next time I visit. Lastly for drinks, I ordered the limoncello spritz (prosecco, limoncello, soda, lemon) which was so delicious, tart, and bubbly, it reminded me of limoncello I had in the Amalfi coast. I will never be able to fully express what this place has meant to me. After losing my family in the July 4th floods, I came here with a group of close friends after my parents' funeral. There were about 17 of us, all grieving, and from the moment we walked in, the entire team at Dolce Riviera surrounded us with kindness, compassion, and care. Sarah gently asked if she could say a prayer for my family during dinner, which meant more to me than I can put into words. The chef kept sending out incredible appetizers, generously and unexpectedly, and every gesture felt filled with love. Edgar, our waiter, was so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind--he made us feel safe and cared for during such a painful moment. That night could have been overwhelmingly heavy, but instead, they created a space where we felt supported, comforted, and even a little bit of light. Since then, this place has become more than just a restaurant to me--it's somewhere I feel connected, understood, and at home. I've even spent Christmas Day here. That's how much it means to me. Bella (nonalcoholic) was delicious, tad too sweet but really good. Would definitely get it again. Espresso Martini no there was no actual coffee in that drink that was a downsize. We had been genuinely looking forward to a special Christmas Eve dinner centered around the Feast of the Seven Fishes--a deeply traditional and meaningful Italian celebration. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations from start to finish. Despite reserving a table specifically in the main dining room, we were seated in the bar area instead. While it was marginally quieter, that hardly compensates for missing out on the ambiance we intentionally reserved. It set the tone early that details--and reservations--were not being prioritized. Service was disjointed and inconsistent, likely due to being handled by multiple staff members in the bar area. Early on, we asked about beer and were abruptly told "no", only to later see a Peroni being served to another guest. Water service was equally uneven--my dining companion's glass was refilled while mine sat empty for nearly 20 minutes. When my wine ran out, no one checked in to offer another. Ironically, once we finally flagged someone down and mentioned the lack of attention, the pendulum swung too far in the opposite direction, with repeated refill inquiries even while my glass was still more than half full. Food service mirrored this inconsistency. Only one server, Sarah, stood out in a meaningful way. She thoughtfully presented dishes, explained each course, and even suggested how to best enjoy the flavors together--exactly the level of engagement one expects from a prix fixe, multi-course experience. Other staff members simply dropped plates and walked away without a word. Midway through the meal--around course five--we were prematurely told the check would be coming soon, requiring us to remind the server that several courses were still outstanding. Timing became increasingly problematic: the meal started briskly, then slowed to a crawl. After waiting over 30 minutes for our next course, we informed the manager that courses were clearly not being tracked. In response, dishes arrived rapidly and back-to-back, creating the uncomfortable feeling that we were now being rushed out. As for the food itself, much of it was enjoyable, but even here inconsistency prevailed. Two entrées were noticeably under-seasoned and lacked flavor entirely--an odd contrast to the neighboring table, who reportedly couldn't finish their meal because it was too salty. The kitchen, much like the service, seemed uneven and unfocused. I truly wanted to love this experience, especially given the significance of the occasion, but it ultimately made for a disappointing start to our holiday. Between the poor service, rushed pacing, and inconsistent execution, it missed the mark. Sarah was the sole bright spot, even going so far as to ask how she could make things better amid the chaos. She deserves genuine recognition--but one excellent server cannot carry an entire evening. read more

We were asked if we were ready to order drinks or wanted to wait for the rest of our party, and when we said we'd like to go ahead and order, the waiter responded, "No, y'all should take your time," and immediately walked away. While we were actively eating our appetizer, someone came by and cleared the plate without asking. Later, we ordered another round of drinks because service was so slow--we wanted them to arrive by the time we finished the first round--but a half-full drink was taken from the table before we were done with it. Multiple times, we had to stop staff from clearing food and drinks we were still using, and not once did they ask if we were finished. We brought these issues up to several people, but the same problems kept happening. It felt like we were being punked. Overall, it was a very bizarre experience. This restaurant is really cute and located in the ground floor of an apartment/office building. The patio is very nice and great on a comfortable night. The ragu was fantastic, they give a bigger amount of food than I expected. Parking here is a little confusing, theres a garage attached and you have to drive up about six flights to the visitor parking. Came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and there wasn't very many people surprisingly although we did go a bit late around 2pm. The restaurant is so cute with a huge covered patio. The faux lemon tree in the center is a nice touch! We ordered a few drinks and the brunch carbonara (delicious!) as well as the prosciutto and eggs (tasty and creative take on an eggs Benedict). The prosciutto and eggs comes with breakfast potatoes too. The dishes didn't look very big but were really filling! Our waiter Alex was so nice and attentive as well! This restaurant does not have a parking lot but has complimentary vallet. I went during Sunday brunch and they seemed short staff with only one attendant and I had to wait about 15mins. The entrance of Dolce Riviera is picturesque and looks like a hidden Italian restaurant in the middle of Dallas. My party was already seated and since we had reservations so there was not a wait. There was a special Valentines brunch our waiter assumed we wanted and told us he already placed the order. Although the brunch menu looked appealing we were not hungry enough for a 3 course meal. Of all the menu items our table ordered including the French toast, donuts, avocado toast, and frittata, the pasta was the best dish. The appetizers and desserts are unmatched .... well plated/presented and 100% delicious! The main courses were good ... beautifully prepared and presented but way too salty. We had 4 different dishes and only the rigatoni was cooked Al dente with the right amount of salt. The others were exceedingly salt heavy which made them hard to eat. Let me start by saying I decided to try this place for the first time for my birthday. Saturday the 17th, this past weekend. I DID NOT have a great first experience. The place is super cute. The valet was absurd when we got there it took us 20 minutes for something to come up to us to park our car and there's no close parking around unless you park in the parking garage. Our waitress was honestly pretty rude. She was rushing us and rude. She came out with my birthday dessert and didn't give us a warning to record or anything. She told us that we needed to hurry up because they close at 3 and our reservation was at 2:30?? There's no reason to take reservations at 2:30 if the waiters are going to be rushing or have an attitude because of the closing time. The restaurant itself was outrageously hot. Inside the restaurant was hotter than outside. The temperature outside was about 85-90 degrees. I would not recommend this place. The food was decent, but due to my first experience I will not be returning. I was VERY upset about our waitress and the way our experience was for MY birthday. The only thing that was good was the decor for pictures. If the prices are higher than normal restaurants then so should the service. Absolutely disappointed. read more

It took almost an hour to get our food, which was poor quality--burnt bread and dishes lacking flavor. Meanwhile, our table was ignored while other guests received attentive service. When I asked for the check, we waited 40 minutes with no response. I spoke to the manager, who was extremely dismissive and rude, simply saying "it takes time with a large table" and making no effort to help. We then waited another hour just to pay. On top of that, the AC wasn't working, leaving the restaurant hot and uncomfortable in the middle of the Texas summer. This was a complete failure in food, service, and management. Super cute spot! We came for brunch and sat inside next to the giant lemon tree which was so cute! Loved the decor! I had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which was really good! Light and fluffy. Pretty big so it's probably shareable. My friend got the Cannoli French Toast and liked it as well but again just really big so it was a lot for both of us. Walking into Dolce Riviera is weird. We opened the door and literally bumped into the hostess stand. It's right at the door, very strange. The decor inside is very cute though, the lemon trees look very much like the restaurants in southern Italy and I appreciated that. Our waiter was ok, he took our order and answered questions- but didn't actually explain what things were just gave a yes or no answer. We asked what the cheese wheel was and he said it's parmesan cheese that melts and put on your pasta. (Not that it's an entirely different order of pasta that they put in the cheese and top with truffles) Unfortunately the food was not near as good as food in southern Italy. The bread and olives were good. My spaghetti pomodoro was not good. The pasta was less than al dente - more like flash cooked. It was crunchy. The mulo mulo was my favorite part of the dinner. It was excellent. So if you go I highly recommend it. read more

Will say the carbonara at taverna is better, bigger, and cheaper- but the other items were creative in their flavor. The pancakes were amazing!! The lemon was so subtle in a good way and it wasn't too creamy. We went to Dolce Riviera on 12/25/2025 for Christmas. Our reservation was for 2:00, but they didn't seat us until almost 3:00. The food was ok, but not great.The WORST PART is that restaurant contracts out with a valet service who left our car illegally parked in a no standing zone. We were issued a fine of $86.00. When we contacted the restaurant the manager said that it was not the restaurants fault and they won't help us. We were told to contact the valet service. Overall this was a great experience for a girls night. The decor was adorable, the tables were big enough to have multiple dishes out at once, and our service was fantastic. Our waiter was great about answering our questions and giving recommendations, although we were a little confused about why they can put any protein other than chicken in the gnocchi, which my friend ordered and loved. My butternut squash risotto was very filling and a great portion size. I definitely have left overs for lunch later today. It also wasn't so heavy that I felt over stuffed. I had the opportunity to come here for a business dinner recently. I called a few days in advance to find out if they could accommodate vegan options. I was told they could & that would consist of their salads, the risotto entree and the mushroom side dish. When I arrived, I spoke to our waitress and she verified with the kitchen that neither the risotto nor the mushrooms were vegan...she did say they could offer a pasta pomodoro with gluten free pasta as a vegan item so that's what I got (with the tricolore salad sans cheese). We ordered an appetizer, and 15 min later our server comes back to tell us that they ran out of the appetizer that we ordered. It also took nearly 12 min to get greeted and drink order after we sat!
