Not impressed. We were told here by some locals that this was the place to go for Italian. I ordered the chicken panini w/side salad and my husband got the meat pizza. the pizza was ok. The panini had no flavor. And the salad dressing was basically just oil. The restaurant was dirty, they didn't have enough staff on the floor and I was really upset. Our waters were empty for our whole meal, we were never checked on once and had to wait for our check for a while. There was waiters just sitting in the break room and didn't even know they had tables. They could have walked around and helped. I'm really disappointed. I normally tip 20-25 precent. We are a young couple that don't make a ton but realize other people deserve to make a good living too. I didn't tip them anything. I would have sent my plate back and not had to pay but I didn't want to deal with the rude staff that couldn't keep up in a half empty restaurant during a dinner service. Oh and the pizza was good but honestly kinda tasted like a totinos pizza. Which I like those but not for 15 dollars Also the waiters were nice to elderly or older people. I am shocked!!! We walk in at 10:30 am on a sunday to hear a man yelling "can you tell me where the f*** this food goes" banging on counter. The whole restaurant is busy and everyone can hear this man yelling. Come to find to find this man is the owner. Our poor waitress seemed to be the only one serving and doing the best job she could under the circumstances. She was very sweet and I could see she was trying her best while the owner was yelling at his whole staff. Its unfortunate that a place that I loved going to is owned by such a mean man. read more

My review is only for the macaroons, which Fabiani's provided for our recent wedding in Maui. The French macaroons were amazing, not to mention massive, and our guests are still raving! The staff were incredibly reliable and provided delivery of 10 dozen cookies to our wedding venue on the day. Talk about stress-free! Thank you Fabiani's for making our wedding desserts so amazing, hubs and I will definitely be back to try the restaurant on our next trip to Maui! read more

I'm updating our previous review after a less than great dining experience today. While the food was delicious, service was lacking. We are local and love this spot, usually we come for dinner so maybe it's a bit different for lunch. It took a while to be greeted considering how it wasn't busy, we were seated and no one took our drink or food order for 10 minutes though our waitress passed us multiple times and we had the menus put away. We noticed the specials were read to the table next to us but on ordering we were asked what we wanted without mention of anything else. The pizza was good just a little soggy in the middle. Empty waters weren't filled up although the guy filled up the other table next to ours and walked by us. It was filled up after our food arrived. After finishing our meals we exited and were told, thanks have a great vacation. Weird to assume we're on vacation considering we are local, have a nice day woulda been fine ;) This really is a good spot to eat, but little details in service were missing that probably won't see us returning for a while. read more

We weren't very hungry so we decided to try this place for dinner based on a recommendation by an employee on our whale-watching trip. I got the Pesto panini and my fiance got the special - chicken pesto pasta. The panini was quite good. The pesto was made with macadamia nuts, which is very different from Seattle where pesto is typically made with pine nuts. They used fresh-baked focaccia, making the bread the best part of the sandwich! My fiance's pasta was OK. The pesto was good, but the dish as a whole wasn't very special. We got desserts to-go. Two macarons and one cookie. Both macarons (lillikoi and salted caramel) weren't very good. The texture of the wafer was too cakey, and the filling was too gooey. The chocolate used in the cookie wasn't very tasty either. :( read more

You gotta try the Genovese pizza. Absolutely amazing! Loved the vibe. However you have to be 21 and over to enjoy the happy hour prices(I.e. the half off pizzas) brought a few friends who were under 21 and discovered we couldn't get the same deal. Stopped here for dinner one night while vacationing in Maui. It was a little crowded since it was a saturday night but we decided to wait anyways. About 15 minutes after putting our name on the list to be seated, a few other people came in and were seated before us. Not a big deal but we went up and asked why that was and asked the guy how much longer until we could be seated. It turns out that guy happened to be the owner and offered us free drinks since we had been waiting a while. Talk about great customer service. The food here is delicious. I would definitely recommend the Fabiani and margherita pizzas and the calzone. For dessert we got the peanut butter bomb and it was amazing! I will definitely come back the next time im in Maui. A year later, I write this review from Fabiani's bar where I'm sipping a delicious sangria at the encouragement of Lorenzo, the owner. The sangria is definitely the best on Maui, and I often crave them, but it's the aforementioned Lorenzo that keeps me coming back as often as I do. The dude is always a pleasure to see -- greeting you with an adorable smile, a hug, or a drink. I feel like family when I come here (and you can tell by the check ins that I come here a LOT). You should come to Fabiani's for the food -- keep coming back for their staff and their service... And sangrias. read more

Food was pretty good. My husband got the chicken alfredo with penne and he mentioned the chicken was somewhat bland. I got the cheese raviolis and thought they were really good, but they could have used a little more pepper or something to add a kick. Service on the other hand was not so great. It was busy but our waitress never came over to check in on how we were doing. To start, we had asked her opinion between two cocktails and she recommended to look at the ingredients on the menu. Later on, we were planning on getting another drink (Basil Strawberry - pretty good, not strong), but she never came back around after a runner brought us our food. We were also trying to order dessert and asked her if there was a menu and she told us to just go look at the dessert case. When she came back around, she asked us if we wanted our check and we let her know we wanted a Tiramisu and she asked us if we wanted to go. We let her know we would like to eat it there and another runner brought it out. The Tiramisu was really good - definitely ended on a good note. After she brought us our check, we immediately put our card in it and she walked by our table about five times before picking it up. I think we may have been a little unlucky with our waitress, as a I saw another waitress running around and it appeared she was providing really good service. Also it's a little odd that the bread is brought to the table with your food rather then before and it was cold, not warm. Probably better this way so you don't fill up on bread, but because it was really busy, we didn't get our food for quite a while. Overall, I think I'd like to give this place another try, but at the Wailea location. read more

Great restaurant. Reasonable prices with genuine Italian cuisine. The chef/owner Lorenzo is there all the time making sure the food and service stays top notch. I wasn't overwhelmed with their scallop dish but the server told me it's one of the favorites of their customers. The salads are fresh, clean, crispy and tasty. The pasta and homemade sauce is unbeatable at any price. (If they're busy, there's usually a seat at the bar where the menu is the same and the service is fast, personal and friendly..) And there should be a sixth star for the delicious homemade pastry the gourmet pastry chef makes fresh every night in their "secret, hidden" shop upstairs over the restaurant! Parking is easy and convenient and this restaurant is centrally located so you can shop for just about anything before or after you eat; (including two or three farmers' markets within easy walking distance.) read more

My husband and I went back last night, and had a WAY better experience. The food, like last time, was super excellent! I got another panini, fantastic, and my hubby got the pasta special for the night. He said it was excellent. The restaurant was crazy busy, but our waitress was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. I'm glad we went back, because the food is super good! We had a margherita pizza and four cheese ravioli which were both excellent and full of great flavor. The pizza crust was crispy and thin the way I like it and the cheese had a bubbly meld with the sauce that was perfect. We will be coming back for sure. Added to my bookmarks. read more

Pizzas were a great size for the price, the veggie is so flavorful and the kalua pig BBQ pizza was perfect. Just the right amount of BBQ sauce. I had the ravioli and added meatballs, the only bummer was it wasn't hot enough but it was full of flavor. Our waitress was great, one of the best servers I've ever had (forgot her name tho) The only con about this place is the bathrooms are horrible !! I liked the decoration and they seem to have a nice big playing area for kids. "The Fabiani" pizza was ok but the waitress came with our "Mauian" pizza and told us there was a mishap in the kitchen and served us a pizza with a bad crust which had a big hole in the middle! That's a first for me! Anyway we were hungry and it was almost closing time so we accepted it but they could at least have given it to us half price or even free to keep us happy. But no, the check came and it was full price. Good restaurants know how to compensate their customers for mistakes. "The Mauian" was too sweet, I guess the bad crust did not help us like it, my husband found it disgusting and there was a piece of pork which was just fat. Also I did not like the plastic plates and water cups, couldn't they provide proper plates? Water is not as refreshing when served in plastic, and it's very unhealthy to serve hot food on plastic, it emits chemicals. Also plastic makes me feel like I'm eating at a food truck or something, I like something more formal when I pay restaurant prices. Update: I went there for a second time and the pizza plates were not plastic, so that's an improvement. The water cups were still plastic, though. The house salad with lilikoi and vanilla dressing was very nice. I also had the linguine with clams and it was alright, it had a bit too much oil and garlic. In general I find the tastes basic here. I also wish they had a bigger craft beer selection. And the service is not the best. But I think I will upgrade it to 3 stars, it's not that bad. read more

My wife and I dined at this wonderful establishment last night, and have only high praise to bestow upon Mike and the crew at Fabiani's. We came in on a very busy night, and although the wait was not terribly long, we were taken care of by Mike who apologized for the wait and went on to ensure our dining experience was the best that it could be. We split the Genovese Pizza (shrimp) and were simply amazed at the quality and taste of the food. This is gourmet pizza at it's finest. Mike was constantly on the go, making rounds to see if anything could be done or offered to enhance the experience of the customers. The staff was also very prompt and courteous, despite the very busy atmosphere and on-the-go pace they needed to maintain. A great price, a wonderful meal, and true customer service. The soup was so hearty with big thick chunks of vegetables and the soup base was thick as well. Perfect for me because I was starving. Once we put in the dinner order, waitress forgot to bring me my side salad and my daughters main salad entree. At the very end of the night, when she brought the check, she apologized for the slow service, letting us know they were shorthanded. I can totally be a flex guy on stuff like this it tell us at the outset and maybe comp an appetizer or something. Our 1st visit, we asked for desert. She replied, 'sure, you want it to go?' Huh? No, I said. Our 2nd visit, same service. The party of 4 next to us, (haole) she asked them twice how their meal was & if she could bring them anything else. She later went back & offered desert explaining the menu. The 3rd time, I ordered a sandwich and asked for extra cheese. The waitress set my plate in front of me and in a toneless flat voice said, 'Gee, you must like cheese.' What does that mean? We got the same exact service. Take order, bring food and set bill on table and leave. The party of 4 across us. (Haole) she asked, 'Was your meal up to your satisfaction? Outstanding Italian pasta and pizza. We had dinner. Lasagna for me and spaghetti for my husband. Also garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. Everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked, served piping hot. Waitress kept an eye on us that all was good without being annoying. Took home a cannoli that was also wonderful, but had to wait two hours before I had room for it. Reasonable pricing here in pricey Hawaii. On a side street, but definitely worth the search. Went in at 7:15 on a Sunday morning with a serious hankering for some good pastry. I'm a pastry snob, having broken my crossaint tooth years ago at Tartine in my home town of San Francisco. Came here for breakfast with friends. Had been here before several years ago but couldn't remember the experience. The location is nestled in a small shopping center behind a bank. Parking can be a challenge if it's busy. The place was about half full but it took a while to be seated. We sat down and gave our drink orders. It took almost 10 min before they came with drinks. We almost left except one of my friends knew several of the staff there (not our server). The food was great. I had the Italian loco mock which was fantastic. The service was not fantastic. Not sure if they were short handed but that definitely diminished our experience. Take it for what it is. read more
