Professional Contractor here:…read more There are two types of contractors out there, service/handyman contractors and new construction contractors. I want to believe these guys are good at new installs, but they were horrible at diagnosing a problem. I have a problem with my fan coil unit leaking water and shutting off. Leaving me with zero air. I told him what I believe is wrong with the Fan coil unit and other items such as possibly low 410A freon. He quickly jump on that and said " you must have low Freon and that is your problem" without addressing anything else. He then begins to tell me it's $195 per pound for Freon and $2500 to replace all my line sets. I requested he show me the readings and without surprise everything was at normal operating levels and no leak. He then said he had to call a different company to come out and diagnose the problem and they would come back another time. The line set and Freon was not the problem and they were trying to make a quick $800 and overload my system. This would result in an overloaded system and freeze up my unit. Moral of the story, I would not trust the integrity of this company. If you don't know what you are doing just be honest and say " I don't know what's wrong, I can't help you."

The temperature has been in the mid to high 80s and my wife is nine months pregnant so having to air conditioner, not working has been very uncomfortable for her, which is my main concern. I called a few AC shops and the wait time was 2-3days for an appointment, which given the blazing heat, made total sense to me. I called Harry around 3pm and he mentioned that he was in a Pasadena area and would be happy to swing by my house in South Pasadena later that evening, after his all day AC job in the blazing heat! The fact that he was able to do a house visit at 7pm blew me away! He immediately recognized that my AC unit was overheating as I had a bunch of trellis around it ... he was 100% honest, just straight up told me that your unit is overheating and get all that junk off of it and it'll work fine!!! Didn't hit me up for bunch of unnecessary work. He is a straight up honest guy. I wanted to give him some gas money, $$$ for time/effort, his support/help, but he refused! They were able to fix our heater problem when our prior HVAC guy could not. And they fixed the problem with less costs than what we paid our other/prior HVAC guy. Further, because our prior HVAC technician could not fix our heater problem after 3 visits, we were recommended to replace the whole HVAC unit and the ducks. However, when Lindsey's came, they told us that we would not need to replace our HVAC system or the ducks because, after much investigation, they found that it was just a roller switch that needed to be replace and all they needed to do was to try and find that brand of switch then we should be ok. And they did it! Not only are they very experienced with the various types of heaters and AC systems, most importantly of all, this is a vey honest company! Because we had to wait for the switch and while waiting the temperature got cold, Christine made sure that we got a discount for their visits. Also, when our heater had another problem again, they were very patient and they came back right away to check what was wrong. This is a honest and professional company. They are very experienced and most importantly, they won't over-charge you! Their prices for the quality work they do are very reasonable and fair. I especially appreciate Christine who helped us schedule speedy services, made sure that we were not over-charged, and she provided very valuable recommendations and insights regarding the problem of our heater. Our technicians, Ryan and Genesis, were also super great! They were courteous and they explained to me what was going on with our heater with great communications! They assured me that I do not need to worry as if anything goes wrong again, they will come right back. The problems began at the end of the second day, there was no airflow going into one of the rooms. A second team was sent out to assess the issue two days later, but they were unable to resolve it. Meanwhile, other rooms had excessive airflow making them uncomfortably cold, while some had barely any at all. When I called the office to report these concerns, the representative attempted to upsell me on an additional services. In total, what was estimated as a two-day job took three weeks to resolve. Throughout that time, I had to make repeated calls and persistently follow up just to keep things moving.

Brand new AC system- absolutely HIGHLY recommended company!…read more I went with Connor AC based on a friend's recommendation (used for their AC system) and because they were local to me and easily accessible. Consult and walk thru was done by Jarred- absolutely professional in all mannerisms, dress, prompt, follow up, ...and easy on the eyes as well. I put the job off for a year bc it was just too much - cost too much and too much invasive work. I have a separate upstairs and downstairs AC units and the downstairs one literally breaks down every summer, electric bills skyrocket, house never gets cool, different guys adding all kinds of freon and tinkering around trying to get our house to cool down in 100deg Cali summers! Finally my downstairs one just broke down 80-85deg inside the house on a 100deg day. I called back Connor and asked them to update the proposal (post- Trump and tariffs) and was determined to make it work this time. My job entailed taking out my 2 old outdated builder's grade 10SEER fans in the backyard, then having the concrete that was custom built underneath them re-done. Then a whole new 16SEER Lennox top of the line system would be installed. And then it rained. Literally never rains in Cali but all 4 days of my proposed job showed forecasted rain!! Day 1- John and his helper Sebastian came to start the job. Work hours were about 8-2ish. They took time to prep and lay out floor covers to protect my carpet and tiles. Then they removed my 2 furnaces inside the attic thru a tiny 2x2 trap door in my closet! John and Sebastian work quietly and efficiently and really surprisingly make the most of their time! 4 days later I had 2 brand new AC units, got the heat working in these colder winter temps, John even re-routed my ducts to improve airflow and basically cleaned up my attic - which now resembles a fully functional clubhouse! Such clean and detailed work! I'm so happy I went with Connor AC and so impressed with the work done by John and Sebastian. They're quiet and clean and so professional. John just seems like such the can-do guy - so highly recommended and Connor AC is so lucky to have him. Please don't ever retire John, in case I ever need any follow up AC work!

In my case, neither the person I spoke to on the phone nor the tech who came to my house said anything about an inspection fee until the end, when SURPRISE! here's a bill for $98. When I called the office, they said they have a free inspection, and a paid inspection. Mine was the paid inspection, but at no point did they say mine was paid. Find another HVAC company who is straightforward and upfront about their pricing.
