Air-Tro rocks! They've installed big commercial as well as residential AC units for me. They're easy to work with and competitively priced. They're install teams are top notch. Highly recommended!! read more

That is wrong. As you can see in the second photo, even if you select HVAC system repair, the offer for a free estimate is still there. Air-tro has decided to prove my point about being a dishonest and untrustworthy company by continuing to mislead customers. This also doesn't change that fact that no one during the entire process, from the person I spoke to on the phone, to the tech who came to my house, ever said anything about an inspection fee. read more

We live in La Cañada Flintridge and have used Air-Tro for over 20 years and won't be hiring them again. I'm unsure if there's been a change in ownership or management but the customer service is now awful. My tenant scheduled an appointment through Yelp and received a confirmation but they never showed. When the tenant called the office to sort out the problem, the receptionist said they don't use Yelp for scheduling. My wife called to speak with someone about this Yelp issue (so management could fix it) and were forwarded to the President (Bob) who sighed before hanging up abruptly. read more

I've used these guys for many years. My parents used these guys sine 1988. They are always professional.

Matt E. is awesome. He called me 25 minutes before arriving, giving me enough time to get home and meet him. He was friendly and explained everything he did. Checked my air condense, checked my air handler, changed my filters. Took the time to check and make sure the heater also worked, (he asked if it was OK, since it was a hot day). The price was more than fair for the customer service and knowledge of the trade. Now I know why they have been so highly recommended in the San Gabriel Valley. They are my Go-To AC comany. read more

Jason and his teams did a great job on our HVAC replacement. They work well with the city to make sure things go as smooth as they can and to keep coming back to rectify anything that comes up. There is care here and everyone that came took great care of us. The new systems are working great! read more

I know this sounds minor but I could not get the air filter out to change it. It had been a while since I changed it so it was quite dirty. Air-Tro was highly recommended to me and I called them. He yanked it out and told me that when the filters get so dirty they are hard to pull out. He put in a new one and even gave me some spare filters. Thank you, Air-Tro! read more

The service man was on time. He quickly took care of the service in a very prifessional way and answered all my questions. I have been happy with their service for 30 to 40 years. read more

So great working with the team at Airtro (Jose, Jon, and Tim) from planning through til inspections. I had a ductless mini split system installed in two rooms. Every question I had was quickly and thoroughly answered. Would recommend them for high quality work at a fair price. read more

Jose was super helpful in working with us in finding an AC unit that worked for us financially and served our house needs. Foreman Chris and his crew came to work right on time and worked very hard to get everything set up for us. These guys are total pros and know their stuff. Air-Tro was recommended to us by a neighbor and they took care of us. If you need heating / cooling for your home, these guys will take care of you. read more

Great customer service! Jose was up front about all cost no hidden fees! Don was informative about all the units installed. Bonus they are licensed.. a lot of people aren't and pretend they are.. read more

Ryan, AirTro's technician, pays attention to detail and stays with the job to do his best to beyond customer satisfaction. So far, so good. I would give him 5 stars, but he is due back to complete what he did not finish. read more

The competitor that I did hire was capable of seeing the issues that my ideas presented and offer soil suggestions for how to do it better, which I accepted. That constructive exchange was the type of exchange that I was hoping for, and the deal to purchase and install my new system was sealed on the same day. That's a good example of how to run a business and start a good relationship with a client. I will be referring all A/C calls straight to Air-Tech from now on!! Thank you Air - Tech! read more

We had Air-Tro install a A/C condenser recently, as our old one was 22 years old. We also were having the old one removed from ground level and the new one installed on our roof. Everything went well, the guys had to crawl in our attic and in our our basement, and nothing was disturbed. I highly recommend Air-Tro for purchases, maintenance, and installation. read more

As an update to this review, Jose did call me and apologized for Tony's customer communication style. He helped me diagnose and resolve the problem, which turned out to be a condensation pump issue that was killing the 24v to the EIM and thermostat (which, in candor, I hadn't thought about a kill switch being wired into the circuit, leading to my logical transformer assessment). Note to self, I am still going to swap out the 40A transformer as it is under spec. Regardless, kudos Jose and thank you! Amazing how basic customer service can be! The only question remaining is why Tony, the cofounder, couldn't take this constructive path and help their customer versus yelling at them and hanging up the phone?! I'm upgrading this to 3 stars as Jose was a professional at every interaction. read more

Long time customer of 15 years soon to be looking elsewhere for service. Unit went outlast week and took 3 days to get appointment. Tech showed up at the last hour of estimated time frame. Now we wait for part to come in (2-3 business days) and THEN they will schedule the repair the following week. Don't bother with this company if you have any urgent requests...like service. read more

The list of cons grows. During my last service visit, the technician changed the air filter. Today I went to install a fresh filter and discovered they screwed the panel bolts excessively tight. I had to grasp and turn the bolts so tightly with plyers that the hole threads stripped. All I can do now is lean the panel against the filter, which allows more dust and dirt to get in. So frustrating. read more

This company is such a rip off. We have been a customer of theirs for years. Today I called to ask for an estimate on a broken thermostat in our office building. The guy comes out and gives an estimate that is absolutely outrageous - double the average price any where else. Of course we declined the service due to the price. That wasn't even the issue. He proceeded to insist that he had to charge for his time to come out and give the estimate - over $200 to tell us what the cost would be! There was no heavy labor involved in this diagnosis. He spent all 30 minutes just waiting around for approval on this ridiculous charge. They did NOT inform me on the phone that they would charge me for just giving an estimate. If I knew that, I could have just got the estimate over the phone. But no option was given. Just a guy shows up and demands a signature for $222. And of course he showed complete indifference when we expressed our concern to him. Their yelp page literally advertises *FREE ESTIMATE* (see attached exhibit A), and they take advantage of a long-time customer like us because they have our billing information. This is a horrible way to run business, and we will not be using Air Tro for their grossly over-priced services any longer. ~Customers Beware~ read more

5 stars for our consultant Peter J, our new two-stage condenser, and the crew who installed our new furnace into the attic. Peter was very thorough and responsive and the Air-Tro crew worked efficiently and was very communicative during the whole removal/disposal/installation process! That being said, I cannot stand the iComfort Lennox app which lets me control our air and heat. The app works a small fraction of the time, otherwise, it gives me a "Unable to Display Current Temperature" error message and will not connect. Extremely frustrating, I wish we could use another app. Either way, Air Tro was great, but hopefully they're able to switch to something that uses a better app. read more

After a few months and a few calls to Lowes and air Tro about when they were going to come back.. They did come back and fixed the issues with inspection as well as any concerns and minor issues I had with the work that was done previously.. Air-Tro did MEET my expectations and brought more employees out to get the job done at this point I am happy with how everything turned out.. As far as the equipment Lennox is stellar. 1-22-16.. Thank you Robert for responding, I appreciate the time and effort your team has put forth in completing my HVAC installation. And fixing the installation ethat the city inspector had found.. 9/20/09 my thermostat went out and I reluctantly called air Tro since they were my installers over the phone I had a 5 year warranty confirmed by Lennox and Lowes but after they came out to install it somehow my warranty disappeared and they charged me 670$ to replace my thermostat which took 3 min to snap in.. I had semi low hopes when I called them but this is an all time low.. if you still use this company for your air conditioning... good luck... 9-24-09 air Tro calls then hangs up when I answer the phone! probably to show that they made an attempt to call me.. smart but very sneaky... I made sure that Lennox, Lowes, and myself made air Tro aware of my warranty on my device before any service tech was sent out.. the Dispatcher noted that I will be responsible for an $89 service call which I agreed too.. and as the tech showed up days later I also made him aware of the warranty and that I will pay for the labor to install the unit. They plan and simply lied and thought I was going to forget and pay $500 extra for no apparent reason.. i am waiting on Air-Tro to repair my damaged wall that the tech angrily ripped out .. and to remove the $134 bill I was sent in the mail for lying to me.. read more

Technician Chris arrived when he said he would, explained clearly what he had to do to repair my non functioning HVAC system, was prepared with everything he need to do the work, performed the work efficiently the same day, and clearly summarized the charges, which were much lower than I feared. Excellent technician with strong diagnosis. They are busy, so it takes time to schedule. They understand our system and try to support the needs we have do to the units age. The $160 an hour labor charge seems steep for a non-profit Catholic School, but what can you do. We have used them for 7 years and we have never seen the same technician twice, so it is a large workforce. We will continue to use them. They are worth giving a try. read more

GREAT service for our 16-year old central air unit! I called Tuesday. They scheduled me Wednesday morning, arriving between 8am and noon. Techs, Chris & Esteban, called while on their way and told me they'd be here at 9:30am and they arrived on the dot. I described the problem, powered the AC to show the issue and they knew right away it was a faulty capacitor. Part was $202.95, the service call $98. All was fixed and fully tested in a matter of minutes. One of the fastest, easiest and cheapest service call in my life! AC works perfectly and Air-Tro's work is guaranteed for 30 days. It was such a pleasure dealing with Air-Tro. Very friendly, professional and trustworthy. Next time I have issues or need to replace or add an HVAC unit, they will definitely be the ones I call. Thank you Air-Tro!! read more

Our furnace would not light up and heat the house Their technician called at 7:19 am to tell me he would arrive by 8 am Technician arrived .... he brought no tools ...no diagnostic equipment Spent more time in my bathroom than he spent figuring out what was wrong with my furnace He fiddled around for a while until the furnace activated He said he bent a metal switch with his finger and the problem was solved A week later we have the same problem only now it's 45 degrees at night It was 60 degrees in our house this morning Thanks to their crappy service and failure to provide any value whatsoever read more

Have had regular maintenance with Air Tro for over 5 years. This year after normal maintenance, experienced a "glitch" with thermostat after the servicing . I had two call backs. Eventually Air Tro was good about rectifying my problem. Technicians always showed up as scheduled. On the last visit, Edgar was the technician. He was very good at listening to my complaint. He methodically evaluated the thermostat problem, eventually reprogramming the thermostat per the original specifications indicated in the manufacturer User Guide. I have my thermostat working again ! Edgar --THANK YOU !! read more

Don't trust their claim of initial visit cost being applied to work if you do it. I had them come out to service a mini-split they installed 4 years ago and they said it would be $88 for the visit, but if we chose to do work identified on the visit, it would be applied towards that. Then they billed me $222 for the visit where no work was done, and claimed it was NOT going to be applied for the actual repair. I agreed to the $750 repair job, and they finally agreed to "only" charge me the initially quoted $88 for the inspection visit in addition to the repair job. And then it took 5 calls to get them to actually come out to do the repair job. Not happy with the billing and service and I won't be using them again. read more

We know nothing about HVAC/AC, which is why we hired Air Tro and have been using them for 5 years. I'm disappointed in Air Tro. We scheduled a service which as wanted to be ready for summer. They told us the blower (I think that was it) was leaking and would need to be replaced. So we had them do that. The guy was nice, and while here, as hot air blew out, he went back up to fix wires he said he had backwards. Then cold air. We paid the $1,100 bill gladly. Then, on a weekend of course, no AC. House heats up. Their service says no help till Monday (we're not on a preferred list). Then we get an appt for Thursday. No urgency to fix something that may have been their issue. Meanwhile our electrician is here on Monday and has his guy come out. This guy said wires were messed up, fixed it, all good. This guy also cleaned out unit and added freon (items they did not check or said we did not need serviced). AC has been working flawlessly since. The bummer here is the way we were treated, like we did something wrong. "I wish you would have let us have a chance to fix it". They had a chance. "The guy who fixed it must not be good if he could come right over". Seriously? "The guy who fixed it was probably lying about the wires." Always a possibility but doubtful. "Maybe we're not a fit". Of course we're not. We fixed what AIr Tro said needed to be fixed. Their fix was problematic. They didn't take care of it. We had a hot house for a while and had to pay even more money for a fix they had taken care of. Totally not good. Plus had to deal with negative comments. Giving two stars (and not one) because of several good experiences before this one. Not sure what has happened there that this would be acceptable. This is an updated review from one I posted in 2017. That one was 5 stars. read more

I called Air Tro and spoke to schedule regular quarterly maintenance. The service fee was $112, I advised that service is bow $168. No notice, no heads up. My parents have been customers for years and to not give them a heads up on the price increase is completely unprofessional. I have advised Air Tro that I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have documentation printed from their invoice, my photos and text mssgs sent to me directly from Air-Tro They Charged me $181.00 for "diagnotics" on my furnace. They claimed I needed a new circuit board. That would cost me an additional $781. for the repair. I'm a 60 year old woman. I researched YouTube. I Climbed into the attic to view the problem myself. Due to the flashing code on my furnace, I only needed a capasitor, costing $11.00. I did the simple repair myself. I have all the documentation to verify the disappointment of this fraudulent activity. SHAME ON THEM!!!! When I called, I did not get a single response back. :(( read more

It was a pleasure dealing with Air-Tro when I needed maintenance/repair to my central heating system. The HVAC technician, Taylor, was very professional, and exemplified what customer service should be. She was polite, efficient, and provided a recommended solution to the issue. Ben the Service Manager was just as pleasant. Very responsive, professional and thorough. Unfortunately, this is in stark contrast to my previous experience; the tech was unprofessional, and could barely provide a response to my concerns. At best all he could do was come up with a mono-syllabic grunt for an answer. But water under the bridge, am I right? Taylor and Ben, keep up the excellent work! read more

PATHETIC. My AC unit was working perfectly, but I called for a preventative maintance, check- up and cleaning anyway. Call me crazy. 2 separate visits from 2 different technicians. (Red flag #1.) Both technicians said: "Everything is looking and performing great". This was also stated in WRITING and included a full check-list to back up their claim. $156.11 So....I decided to check the AC fan blades myself. They were completely covered with dirt, muck and tons of lint - a build up of crud for not being cleaned in YEARS....which is why I called them in the FIRST PLACE!! (Red flag #2) THIS is why you do preventative maintenance, right? To SAVE your unit and to SAVE on your electric bill??? Then I proceded to call them. Not only did they put me on hold for 5 minutes, they didn't even apologize or try to make up for their unprofessionalism. INSTEAD, they started back-paddling and denying any wrong doing by saying" Well...your unit is 23 years old...and there is an additional charge to clean or replace any parts". And HOW is that relevant???? Then she proceeded....." preventative maintanance only covers a visual inspection of your unit". SAVE YOUR MONEY FROM THESE CROOKS. If you want pics, I have them for your viewing pleasure. read more

Jason repaired my A/C ducts. I shopped around for quality professionals in this specialized area of work, who would give me a fair price. It was important to have this done right, as the old system was not circulating in parts of the house, dust was interfering with art work I did, my dogs were adding to the dust and I was having head-aches and coughing a lot. This company went above and beyond my expectations! The installation looks secure and beautiful. My A/C system is running better than it ever has! No more dust. No more breathing issues. This is an important component in a home. This company is a great choice to making certain it's functioning properly. Highly recommend! read more

Air-Tro did an excellent job installing two new furnaces for me in 2020, they were highly recommended by someone I know. Air-Tro's team were very efficient and friendly. I recommend Air-Tro without hesitation. read more

I've used Air Tro for years. They're not the low-ball estimate-- but they don't try to upsell you, which is what most HVACs do. My through-the-wall system wasn't cooling after two years. READ THEIR 1 STAR REVIEWS! There are more than 60 of them! This company is a scam. Air-Tro replaced a transformer on our HVAC and charged us $456.44 for a part that costs $19, exact same part, exact same manufacturer! Labor was on top of that. I tried to called about this rip-off and they tried to give me the run around saying that they pay more for the part than we can get it online. They are swindlers who exploit trusting customers. DON'T USE THEM! You will get screwed! In response to the business owner's reply: Sorry that's complete BS! If $456 was for "dispatch, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair" like you allege, why would it be listed under the part price? Shouldn't that be included in labor? Labor charge was $88, clearly stated on the invoice. Repair tech stated the $456 was for the PART only. When asked if that was the average price for this part he stated it was with a "little markup" and that I could find it a "little less" on Amazon but then we'd have to call them out again to have it installed. Your invoice speaks for itself and it follows what your tech also confirmed. Your explanations make no sense. I got all sorts of excuses when asking about this overcharge with different members of your staff. You are a dishonest company and I want to warn all potential customers about your scam tactics. In reading some of your other reviews,it seems others have also had this issue with you. You'd be much better off trying to charge more for your labor than grossly overcharging for the part. Hopefully many people read this review and STAY AWAY! In reply to your tuna comment, if you knew anything about sushi you'd know that the tuna from Safeway is not the same as from a top grade restaurant. Fish is graded and priced based on market price of that grade. Your part is a part available on Amazon! I have to mention again that your invoice clearly states that the PART was $456 ($19 on Amazon). I've never heard of any company charging almost 25 times cost. And I know your cost is even less than$19 since that's the retail customer cost. In addition, a sushi chef doesn't charge for labor on top of the fish charge. You're a joke! read more
