Johnny's AC has been there for me and my family for years upon years now. When things "heats" up, Vic comes through for us every single time. Recently, I needed a checkup on my unit that went dead on me right at the brink of another heat wave. I texted the crew at Johnny's, they responded and took good care of me at a moment's notice. Vic came out and did his usual magic. My AC was up and running strong again, and things were "all cool". Always fast, friendly, yet very professional service that I can trust and feel great about. THANK YOU Johnny's AC!!!! read more

Air conditioner stopped working a couple days ago. Wasn't blowing cold air. Ended up being a burnt capacitor.Vicken came out with one other person. Got on the roof and diagnosed and fix the problem. Quickly whole experience took about an hour with them, spraying down the air conditioner and cleaning it out. I'm truly grateful for the professionalism and how quick they got this done. More importantly that they were able to come out the day I called them, which was really fortunate. The temperature has been in the mid to high 80s and my wife is nine months pregnant so having to air conditioner, not working has been very uncomfortable for her, which is my main concern. I appreciate you Vicken thank you sir!!! I sent his number to two people already and will turn to him for future needs. read more

I love these guys-- especially Vic, who has been my HVAC guy for 6 years. I can't say enough good things. Friendly, professional, timely, and great at what he does. This is a small company with a family feel... it's like having a trusted cousin handle your AC. 10 stars! :) read more

We originally called Johnny's AC to give us a quote on a new air conditioning system because another AC company assessed our malfunctioning AC unit and told us that it needed to be replaced. Vic came out and was amazing. We told him about our situation and asked if he could take a look at the system first. He shared that there would be a service fee for the assessment and we were okay with that. After a pressure test, he was able to determine that there was a leak in a port and the system was low on coolant. He scheduled a follow-up to finish the work and informed us that our system was still in good shape, needing a few smaller repairs. We appreciated his honesty and saving us thousands of dollars. read more

Johnny installed our two HVAC units about twelve years ago. From the very beginning, both Johnny and his son, Vic, have been the ones I've trusted to service and maintain the system. Over the years, whenever I've needed assistance, they have always shown up on time, carried themselves with professionalism, and treated me with genuine friendliness and care. It's clear that they not only know their craft but also take pride in providing excellent customer service. Yesterday, I heard what I thought was a grinding noise coming from one of the units, so I called for service. Vic came out today and immediately put me at ease. After inspecting the system, he discovered that the sound was a "whistle" caused by a bent air filter--nothing serious at all. He corrected the issue right away, explained what had happened in a way I could easily understand, and reassured me that everything else looked good. To top it off, he didn't charge me for the visit, which was a gesture I deeply appreciated and one that shows how much they value their customers. I've been impressed with their honesty, knowledge, and responsiveness for over a decade now, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Johnny and Vic to anyone seeking reliable HVAC service. They are a family business that truly treats you like family. read more

Johnny's AC Service was recommended by a family member who had a good experience after replacing their HVAC. We decided to give them a call after being left unimpressed by two other local companies who came to service our HVAC without truly addressing the problem (cycling AC and then heater not turning on). Vic and his partner came to take a look, evaluated our current HVAC set-up, and were able to identify a possible solution by working through options systematically. They were very kind and respectful and took the time to explain their findings - doing their best to explain it in layman terms which isn't always easy! Vic and his partner were very thorough installing the new part, and testing to ensure that the unit was functioning appropriately. They even shared tips on maintenance that could help reduce future issues. We are so thankful for their help and would highly recommend others consider Johnny's for future HVAC services! It's been a couple months since they were by and we haven't noticed any issues. Their willingness to spend time and troubleshoot provided great value as we did not end up having to replace the entire system (as recommended by other companies). read more

A new HVAC heat pump system was installed recently. The owner, his son Vic and the office staff were professional, knowledgeable and prompt with their service. I highly recommend this business for your heating and AC needs. read more

Johnny's AC replaced our HVAC and furnace that was damaged after the Eaton Fire. They provided professional service and documentation needed for insurance. They were also patient as the job had to be delayed longer than expected while we finished cleaning from the fire. We would recommend them to others! read more

Every time there is an issue with my HVAC, which seems to be more often these days, Vic and Johnny's come to the rescue. They are quick to respond and always get to the root of the problem. Polite, hard-working and great value, often go above-and-beyond the call of duty. Highly recommended. read more

Was referred to Johnny's AC from my neighbor and they didn't disappoint! Our previous installer didn't complete the job proper so water was running down inside our walls. Vic had a pump and supplies we needed to fix our issues without having to come out another day. Angie who assists with coordinating is also fantastic. Super responsive and will work with our crazy schedules and last minute changes. Will definitely continue using them! read more

Jessie states My AC was not blowing cold air and I contacted "Johnny's" a family owned and operated HVAC local company, Service was same day, the 2 workers (one being the son of the original owner were professional, on time, organized in taking a step by step in trouble shooting what was wrong and communicating this to me They explained exactly why and what they were troubleshooting and quickly arrived at the issue/problem. The problem/issue was solved during this 30-45 minute visit. I would highly recommend this local family owned and operated business serving Pasadena and neighboring cities. read more

Vic was amazing in figuring out the issue with our HVAC and even pointed out mistakes that other HVAC techs have done resulting in a complicated final repair. Vic kept me posted on everystep of the repair and given his professionalism, work ethics and experience we trusted him with all the reccomended repairs , which resulted in a workiong HVAC that i look forward to being trouble free for a long time ( fingers crossed) . Overall from Sonia at the office till meeting Vic and Mario on site, we are glad we trusted Vic and his team for such large repair . Thank you Johnny's AC ! read more

Our AC broke down in the hottest week. Vic at Johnny's came on time as promised. I like that it is a local family business. He knows his AC. I like that he started by troubleshooting and doing the cheapest thinks first. He wasn't trying to overcharge me. He trained me on filters, which was helpful, and found the bad part and replaced it immediately. I would use them again anytime! read more

I just had a new furnace and HVAC unit put in my townhouse. I did my due diligence and got a few estimates. Johnny's was a very fair estimate. One thing I liked is Johnny himself went high on the roof to check out the old HVAC. None of the other companies would do it. They showed up early when they said they would. The workers were very professional and worked very hard. They were very tidy and cleaned up the area they were working after they finished. I would highly recommend them for any service or if you are looking for a new furnace or HVAC.a read more

I'm very appreciative of this company. I had canceled last minute because my ac began to function then it stopped working again and this company still made it a point to squeeze me in the same day. They responded immediately. The guys went out of their way to make sure it was working properly. Did not push any services or parts on me but did inform me that they have my ac parts in stock. In case my ac stops working again, I know who to call. Excellent service. read more

Vic showed up and every problem I had, or thought I was going to have, he fixed. He explained everything thoroughly and showed me exactly what he was replacing AND why. Even as someone who knows nothing about AC's I know nothing should look like it had burnt at some point or rusted to a level a tetanus shot should have come with it! My AC/Heat unit is from 2003. Probably hasn't been serviced in years. Luckily, and this is because of Vic, I don't have to replace it. They're going to be servicing my equipment from now on. When it's time to get a new unit I'm going to go through them. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable AND reasonably priced. Enough said. read more

Last fall my heat quit working, so I called another company. As luck would have it, by the time the technician came, the heat magically started working. The technician charged me $150, said there was nothing he could do since it was working. Of course about a month later, it quit again. After 3 cold days, I called Johnny's, which a friend recommended after they installed her system. What a difference! The technician found the problem and fixed it (a water leak had shorted out a connection--I think the first guy could have found this if he had looked). Then I asked him to look at my very old ac unit, just in case. He found an oil leak and something else that needed to be fixed. He fixed it at a reasonable price, and it's worked great all summer. Plus the technician came as promised, explained and showed me everything and was very pleasant. I highly recommend this company! read more

So i called Johnnys AC & heating the other day when it was pouring rain. The phone lady was super communicative & she texted me back n forth exactly to the dot when the serviceman would be at my house. My heater just stopped working out of the blue. Vic came over super friendly n professional and he very quickly did a bunch of tests and diagnosed the problem. What a like about Vic n Johnnys is that he showed me everything and really checked the safety of the heater as well as the flame (my flame dial was extreme & it reflected that on my high bills) he turned down the flame, changed my filter (it was disgusting) and he diagnosed a broken fan after resetting n electric checking wires leading to fan. My other heating guy didn't ever check any of my stuff he only talked about how miserable his live was n talked n talked n talked about himself. ugh Not vic ! he put in new part heater works like a dream! and then he rechecked all safety stuff again. i'm so happy and relieved! Thank you Johnnys ac n Vic!!! awesome job! read more

Our air conditioner was in need of repair. I called this morning at 9:00, and talked with Daisy explaining why I needed help. She told me Vic would be arriving between 10:00 and 12:00. He arrived at 10:10, patiently listened to my husband and quickly started his investigation. After locating the problems, he fixed them. AC went back on, blowing cold air throughout our house; he went to each vent to be sure they were all pumping cold air. And they were! Vic, Johnny's son was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly (he arrived and remained masked -- thanks, Vic -- throughout his visit). And, most important, our AC works. And the price was reasonable. I'm sharing his card with neighbors, and if needed for anything else, I'll be contacting Johnny's again. read more

Beware!! Do not use this Company! The technician, Vic, refused to go on my roof (where my AC is located), because their insurance won't let them go up a ladder higher than 16 feet. I explained to two of their sales reps that I have a 2 story Spanish home (20-30 feet up a ladder). I guessTotal waste of time. I ended up using Aire Serv of Pasadena, truly great professionals. And Aire Serv will only charge you $79.00 opposed to Johnny's $120.00 Consultant Fee. Use at your own risk! ***Update as of Dec 10, 2021*** While leaving my house today, the technician that refused to do the work on my house-approached me about my previous factual yelp review. Completely caught me off guard and startled me because I didn't remember him. He asked me, why did I write a bad yelp review. Who does this??!! Completely unprofessional technician. He went on to tell me how many clients he has on my street. And that he is a person who likes to fix things. Again, BEWARE!! Do not use this company or write a bad yelp review. Because if you do, he just might feel the need to show up at your house to address your comments. I cannot stress the unprofessionalism - when in need of AC repair do not use these guys!! read more

Vic is very knowledgeable. Honest and most importantly caring. My heat started acting out at my house for about 6 days. I called 2 different company for a service call. They came, gave 2 different opinions (one says is the board that will take weeks to get it, the other said it's my ducts) on how to repair and presented both scenarios as expensive and not reliable. Both of them suggested replacing the whole system. They still charged their service fee along with their estimate. I figure might as well call Johnny's Air Conditioning for a free estimate as they are pretty local to me. Vic came over to do the estimate and it was pretty late in the day (as I have scheduled it late). We got into talking as to what the other technicians were saying. He also noticed that my two young children were bundled up and I have the space heater running. He offered to check out the issue for me and so I agreed. After a few minutes, he discussed how he diagnosed the issue and what he thinks is the problem, and it was not related to what the others had said. It was a thermostat and filter issue, both of which he has in his truck. He also noticed that the outlet was not connected to the outside. After doing all the work and explaining what I have to do, so this problem will not happen again. He stayed until the temperature at the house reached a comfortable level. Vic was very knowledgeable and courteous, but most importantly, very personable and caring. My family has been sleeping comfortably. As far as pricing, it is very good considering the parts he used and the amount of work he had to do. I now have some time to save for a system, but will not look elsewhere. I will just call Johnny's and get the work done. read more

Johnny's team installed a new heat pump and ductwork in our crawlspace, and made several new vent and return holes based on his expertise on what would be most energy efficient and comfortable. The installation was performed well, but we had some lingering issues, including vibrations and loudness from the fan blower. Johnny did not hesitate to send teams out on multiple occasions to resolve these issues for us. Now our unit is whisper quiet and running perfectly. They were also very patient while we sorted out scheduling issues and a hiccup with our lender. With Johnny you get the sense that you're in good hands and he'll do what it takes to make sure you're happy in the end, and we are. read more

I was looking for someone to do an annual HVAC maintenance/tuneup. I was made to wait a while for a quote, and when lady came back she said it's $350. I said that almost 3x what others are quoting me. She said "well we have to go up on the roof, change the filter." Duh, that's part of the service, but when giving a quote, provide at least something that's competitive. read more

My AC unit stopped blowing cold air & the inside room temperature would never reach the same temperature on thermostat. I had 2 different HVAC companies to come out & look at it, neither of them could find the problem and insisted nothing was wrong. I saw a review of Johnny's Air Conditioning & decided to call him; I explained to Angie, office personnel, that the companies had checked the outside unit; went up in the attic & checked & said nothing was wrong, she scheduled an appointment for me for today, Vic arrived earlier than expected; talked to me for 2 minutes; turned off the fans I had on, turned on the unit, listened went to his truck to get his ladder, came back in went up to the attic, came back down went back to his truck, came back in, went back up to attic and within less than 5 - five minutes my a/c was working! Vic knew exactly what to do, he's truly a professional and knows the components of the unit very well- I'm so impressed & HAPPY I have air. I'll be calling Vic at Johnny's Air Conditioning from now on moving forward for my HVAC needs!!! Forever grateful!!! Altadena, CA read more

We started to have issues with our AC unit and it wasn't blowing out cold air. It just felt like the fan was. We had one very hot day this week and no wonder the house wasn't cooling. I called Johnny's after reading their reviews and they came out the next day to take a look. Sure enough there was a small leak and needed a part replaced in the unit. They got it done within the hour and we had cool air again. Their rep also educated us on how to maintain the unit/filter to allow the maximum use. read more

Johnny's AC is my go-to HVAC repair company. As my system is fairly old, I've used them several times in the last couple of years. I've always found the company to be very responsive and willing/able to send a tech out right away. Last week was pretty cold, so of course the heater goes down. I call Johnny's and they can send someone out right away. I'm happy to see Vic, a friendly face, who serviced the system previously. He immediately diagnoses the problem, and though it's not good news - a hard to find part needs to be ordered - he is clear and honest about the timeframe to fix the heater. Once the part is in Vic comes back and knocks the work out. Heater was back online. I appreciate Johnny's, Vic and the rest of the team who go above and beyond to get their customers up and running! read more

Last week, Southern California was preparing for one of the coldest winters that we have experienced, and that evening I felt very cold, and saw that my heating system, that had been working earlier in the day, was malfunctioning. The next morning I called my regular service company, and they were not very helpful, so I looked at the reviews online, and called a few companies that were vague about when they could look at my heating system I was freezing and was also concerned about my little dog. I called Johnny's and they were busy thar day, but I explained my situation to the very kind lady, Rhia, I am sure I am misspelling her name, but she was very understanding and sympathetic, and said that she would make an effort to see if any technician might have a small window of time to at least let me know what the problem is, and maybe it was a quick fix. She contacted me and said Vic would be by shortly to diagnose the problem. Vic was very prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. My system is rather old, so I was not surprised that I needed a new motor, which needed to be ordered, and it was a very rainy Friday, so I knew that it would bot be available until after the weekend. Vic was kind enough to lend me a spaceheater, and had someone drop it off. The motor arrived on Tuesday, and Vic promptly brought it over and quickly and efficiently installed it. He was very honest about exactly what I needed, not trying to sell unneeded equipment. The price for the motor and labor was quite reasonable and fair for the project. The customer service provided by Johnny's is excellent, and Vic was a pleasure to work with! I would not consider going to any other AC and heating repair company! Thank you Johnny's and Vic! read more

Here's why I will have this company work me when I need them: Today, I went about cleaning the condenser coil at my home. I pulled the fuses, took off the top and fan, pulled off the metal shroud pieces, sprayed it down with coil cleaner several times... rinsing in between. Then, I put it all back together and started it up. No good. Arg, I knew I had two out of three wires in the right place, but I had brain-farted on the third. I tried plugging that brown wire several places, but the thing wouldn't work. I went to Yelp and figured I had to pop $100 for a service call just to get it running before my wife got home from work. The person responding to me from Johnny's told me where to attach the wire by email. I followed the instructions and baddabing, baddaboom it worked! That person could have popped by and made a minimum service fee for 5 second's work, but instead helped me for nothing. This is pure kindness and decency, and I will support their business in the future. Thank you so much whoever you are that helped me! read more

Johnny's Air responded quickly to my Yelp inquiry to repair my air conditioner. They called in advance of the end of my appointment window to let me know they were going to be a little late as the warehouse was backed up. The service person arrived less than 15 min late and was very polite, friendly, and professional. He quickly fixed the problem, but then he also cleaned the unit, which actually made the air coming out the vents ~8 degrees cooler! Love it! I Bookmarked this company to make sure I use them again! read more
