I highly recommend Lindsey's for anyone who needs heater or AC services! They came to us highly recommended by our friend who had used them in the past and boy are we happy with the recommendation! They are professional and very experienced. They were able to fix our heater problem when our prior HVAC guy could not. And they fixed the problem with less costs than what we paid our other/prior HVAC guy. Further, because our prior HVAC technician could not fix our heater problem after 3 visits, we were recommended to replace the whole HVAC unit and the ducks. However, when Lindsey's came, they told us that we would not need to replace our HVAC system or the ducks because, after much investigation, they found that it was just a roller switch that needed to be replace and all they needed to do was to try and find that brand of switch then we should be ok. And they did it! Not only are they very experienced with the various types of heaters and AC systems, most importantly of all, this is a vey honest company! Because we had to wait for the switch and while waiting the temperature got cold, Christine made sure that we got a discount for their visits. Also, when our heater had another problem again, they were very patient and they came back right away to check what was wrong. This is a honest and professional company. They are very experienced and most importantly, they won't over-charge you! Their prices for the quality work they do are very reasonable and fair. I especially appreciate Christine who helped us schedule speedy services, made sure that we were not over-charged, and she provided very valuable recommendations and insights regarding the problem of our heater. Our technicians, Ryan and Genesis, were also super great! They were courteous and they explained to me what was going on with our heater with great communications! They assured me that I do not need to worry as if anything goes wrong again, they will come right back. They made me feel at ease with the situation and I greatly appreciate that they were able to fix our heater without us needing to switch out our whole HVAC system! What a lifesaver! Our AC unit is 13 years old and started leaking refrigerant. We called our regular AC maintenance crew and traced the leak, but because of the phase out of the R410A refrigerant, we were told to shop around for coil as the parts are becoming harder to get. So we found Lindsey's on Amana's website as a preferred dealer. I called on a Monday morning and thankfully they had an opening even with the recent heatwave. Mark came out very quickly and inspected our unit and reviewed what has been done so far and gave us recommendations and a quote as well. Thankfully both vendors were able to find the coil part. After some thoughts we decided to continue with our existing vendor, but we truly appreciate Mark's expertise. We know we will have to replace the unit with the phase out issue later, we are thankful to have another vendor we can rely on and call in the future! read more

In the last year and a half I have used Lindsey' Heating and Air 2x. Both times on my 16 year old Carrier A/C Unit in the hottest of hot summer days. No one likes home repairs. If you're a renter, this adds a layer of worry. If you're a couple of educators, knowing summer is lean on paychecks swinging into August, keep piling... so when our A/C hit the skids this morning, in the midst of a record-breaking heatwave, it wasn't demonstrative of the conditions required to take one's time to make an educated choice. You cross your fingers, maybe check a few Yelp reviews (which invariably have reviews with 5 stars, 1 star, and everything in between), and pick up the phone to get someone out as soon as possible. I called Lindsey today at 1:15 pm, assuming at best I would get someone to schedule me between 8 and 5 tomorrow... nope! The nice lady on the phone scheduled someone to be here today between 2 and 4 pm. At 3 o'clock, a nice guy named Bill showed up in a Lindsey van, shook my hand, and got right to work. Within minutes, he was up on the roof, checking the condenser, the capacitor, the wiring, and who knows what else on our 1993 roof mounted AC unit. About ten minutes later, he came down and told me the capacitors and what-nots are fine, but he had to bypass a delay board in there that was keeping the thing from firing up in a timely and reliable way. A few more checks, a couple pounds of Freon, and we were turning off fans, closing windows, and getting ready to hang meat in the ice locker that was our den. Bill wrote me up a fair price for same day service that did not give me reason to call Red Cross to see what they'll give me for a pint of O-negative, and he was on his way. 1 hour tops from Hell on Earth to Winter Wonderland. In an industry where it seems everyone has a horror story and everybody knows a guy who has a friend whose kid's Little League coach's dentist's roommate's nephew does AC repair.... it's nice to get lucky with a reputable company who does quick work at a fair price.Even with our ancient AC on the roof, that was manufactured the year I graduated from high school, there was no mention of "you need a new one" or any monkey business. Next time we need something done with heating or cooling, it won't be a matter of luck-- it will be an immediate call to Lindsey, who today demonstrated their integrity and dedication to gettin things done right for me and my family. read more

I've mixed feelings about writing this review. They got 3 stars because overall, I'm good with the repair service performed. BUT I'm having problems with the dishonesty in attempts to induce sales. My A/C unit acted up over the weekend, so I contacted Lindsey's Monday morning at 10:39am. The lady who answered the phone told me she has to check the schedule and call me back. She called me back at 11:34am and told me that she has someone for me RIGHT NOW. I told her I can be home in 20 minutes if that's okay. At first she said that wouldn't work, then she started talking to someone in the back ground. One minute later she told me that's fine. So I rushed home with my friend. We waited about 10-15 minutes before the technician Jim showed up. After Jim showed up, he inspected the AC unit with my friend. Jim took off the cover and found an almost dead capacitor. He told my friend that a new capacitor would usually cost $70-$80 at Home Depot, and they sell it for $120. Not bad. Of course under the circumstances we are going to go with him. Not to say Jim got along great with my friend since they shared similar back grounds. Jim gave the AC unit a completely check up, also checked our Nest ,and the AC manual to make sure everything is running good. So the Total bill ended up to be $208 ($88 for service and $120 for the capacitor). Jim said usually during the hot weather they charge minimum $250 and up. So that made my friend felt that we got a great deal/discount with him. So everything was Rosey at this point. AC fixed and found a new AC go-to place! Felt like a million bucks! And just out of curiosity, I Googled my new capacitor online in the afternoon. Turns out it's only $19.95 on Amazon with free shipping. Exact same model number and all. And most other capacitors would cost anywhere form $9 to $30. I have to say my friend and I were pretty shocked and disappointed. Why did Jim had to lie about the capacitor price? Just to make a sale? Were all his kindness fake? Why can't he just be straight up and say Lindsey's needs to make $200 per service call? And since I paid with a check and got an invoice we know the $120 capacitor price was set by the Lindsey's, just don't know if the lie was also a company policy. The truth, I didn't mind paying $200 to have my AC fixed. Was prepared to pay more if necessary. We just REALLY do not appreciate being lied to. read more

4/9 ... I called on 4/8 at 7:56am on a 90 degree expected day ; receptionist was friendly and got me on the schedule book for the next day ( 8am -10am). Bill arrived around 8:20 am. I explained the ac wasn't blowing cold air recently and thought I was simply low on Freon. He still checked the duct work in the attic / did a diagnostic On the unit and turns out the unit blew a fuse . Less than an hour ... he was gone and our house was nice and cool again . Didn't try to upsell me on anything . Esp being a woman , he was professional and I can simply appreciate this no BS kind of service. Be advised ...there is a service call fee on top of the services rendered , even though they're only 9 min away from my house / it was worth it . This is the second time I've used Lindsey's and excellent service as usual. I had them perform a larger job on the first call three years ago, replacing the a/c condenser to save some $$ on the electric bills. The most recent call was for clearing out a clogged condenser drain pipe. I was quoted a minimum amount plus any replacement PVC piping and nitrogen gas that was used to clear the drain. Well, in the end, he ended up charging us only for the house call and that's it. Now that's customer service. Almost every other a/c repair business tried to upsell me or charge me extra for unnecessary parts. I will continue to use their services for their honesty and competitive pricing. read more

We requested their service to check the reason for the AC in our townhome that stopped working since last summer. The worker was on time and friendly. But after check up, we were informed that the cost would be over $1000, including $900 for the gas. Then a few hours later, after checking with his boss, we were told that they don't want to fix it, rather we should replace a new unit. We end up asking someone else for the check up. It turns out that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the unit. We just spent $275 for the gas and closed up the valve tightly and everything is working great. Mark was referred to me by my contractor as the consummate professional who truly knows his craft. the recommendation was spot on. Mark and his crew inspected my failed HVAC system, gave me an estimate that saved me almost 50% from other quotes that I received. Mark suggested that I only need to replace the A/C portion of the unit as the heater is still in great working order. Others wanted to replace the entire system... The unit came and got installed pretty quickly and while it was being installed Mark's crew discovered a clog in the system that likely caused the failure of the original unit - something my regular service tech did not identify... It's Monday morning and our usual AC company quoted us $700 to clean our fan and coil that were clogged and thus preventing the AC from working. Thought it was unreasonable high and was very fortunate that Lindsey's was able to see us same day. After three hours of taking apart the fan and thoroughly cleaning the coils, the overall cost was only $300, and some change. AVOID. Feel free to message me if you're even thinking about this. I found Lindsey's off of Yelp and contacted Mark. I told him that I found an AC repairman that said my unit was old and my options was buy a new motor for the unit about $300 (but since the ducts are too small won't do much other then pump cooler air or replace whole thing for $5,000-$6,000. Mark was nice and understanding on the phone. He offered a free estimate to tell me that was the case, since a lot of people off Craigslist weren't creditable. He came over to give an estimate. Even though this is besides the point it takes me an hour and half each way to go to this property. He said that knowing that I didn't have a lot to spend he would recommend a filter, coils and freon would help. When I scheduled the service, which is only available 7:30am-4:00pm M-F, he sent Nathan, who was super cool over to service. He was done in half an hour! Just replaced the filter and told me that really didn't help at all, your motor is broken. Basically Mark should of told me that YES the craigslist guy was correct and nothing we can do, short of replacing the entire system for thousands of dollars will fix it. Instead he charged me $91, $83 for the service charge (which covers an hour and he only used 30 mins) and $8 for filters (which he said was included). All and all no difference was made and he could of told me this when he came over for the estimate. Out $91 and about 5 hours of total commute time. I called Mark to see if this was a fair assessment of the situation and asked him why it wasn't brought to my attention previously. He only told me after the fact, that he didn't really look at my unit carefully and that estimates are usually only on system rehaul. I said my Craigslist guy did it and then he was dropped that arguement. What he said to me to try to sound rational for the cost, kept changing. At one point he said... well my technician called my at 8:15 saying he was done (still only 45 mins) and I said I have an 8:02 voice mail time stamp, then he dropped it that argument. He eventually started raising his voice into an ANGRY YELL over the phone and tried to make this my fault. It was super unprofessional and inappropriate! I always question a business with reviews, from reviewers that post so little reviews. Especially considering this isn't a restaurant. read more

Mark & crew are all reliable, smart & friendly. I've used others over the past 22 years for home, office bldg and rental, and now (for about 10 years) I only use Lindsey's. I've read some of the negative reviews and can only say Lindsey's workers (and Mark, too!) have always showed up when they said they would, and solved all the problems we've had (in our own home, a once-owned ofc bldg, and a rental home), with a smile. Sometimes a problem takes a different worker with different experience to solve, because the variety of systems are so diverse and complex, and LIndsey's is not immune to that problem, and sure it can hurt to pay for a service call when there's no immediate solution, but, few people work for free. And Lindsey's always has finally gotten to the solution for us, so in the long run the costs end up being extremely reasonable, and certainly competitive. There are no miracle workers, but these guys always get the job done right, in my experience. read more

Being in the Real Estate field it's always nice to know a few reliable companies that specialize in different fields. One of my clients recently gave me a call with a few HVAC issues and I called Mark right away. He was prompt, honest and direct. When he and his team arrived my client was thrilled with the level of service received. These guys are honest with their work and will not try and upswell you. In June, we called several companies to have them replace our old gravity heater ducts. Lindsey's was the best one out there because 1) they were cheapest (without sounding like a ripoff) and 2) they listened to what we wanted. We wanted to keep our existing gravity heater. Mark was the only one who sounded knowledgable about that type of old heater, and who respected our historic house. When summer hit, we found out that we also needed an air conditioning unit to cool a couple of rooms. We did our homework so we knew that we wanted a mini-split system. We called several companies out, and found most of them would not listen to our needs. Again, Mark's quote was 1) the most reasonably priced and 2) he listened to what we wanted. We liked his ideas so much that we added a third room, so now we are fully covered when the heat comes, but also when it gets cool. In our case, we knew what we wanted, but had no idea of how to do that. Lindsey's pulled through. They were here almost 3 full days doing both the duct work install and A/C install - 5 people day one and two day, 2 people the last half day. We appreciate honesty and good workmanship. Nothing but honest and prompt service from these guys! The AC was out at my office and I was sweltering in the heat. We finally decided to call Lindsey's after reading other reviews on Yelp. They fit us into their tight schedule due to the heat wave and came to the office the day after I called them. The technician fixed the problem within 20 minutes. It turned out it was a blown capacitor on the fan unit. Total cost was $118.00. Money well spent if you ask me. I now have ice cold AC flowing through the office!
