Here's an update. Condensing unit stopped working. Called Stewart and they set up an appointment only a couple days later. This should be noted as this is a busy time of the year for all HVAC. Turns out that the unit had a bad capacitor. Ray, the tech, came by and after about half an hour, the unit was up and running. They also honored the warranty so nothing came out of pocket! So the HVAC in my home stopped blowing cold.. I reached out to Stewart Air Systems via Yelp and got a response pretty much instantly. I chose them because I wanted to support and build a relationship with a local small business. Stewart and I spoke about my issue and we scheduled an appointment. He was very accommodating with my request that we meet before my wife started work as she works from home and it'd be easier to greet the technician before she started. Appointment was set for 10a-12p.. Kyle was our technician and he showed up, diagnosed, and fixed our system within that 2 hour window.. he also gave me some good advice if I had any issue in the future.. My 23-year-old HVAC system recently died on the last day of 2020. After multiple quotes from many recommended HVAC companies, I ultimately chose Stewart Air Systems to overhaul my entire heating and cooling system. Justin provided me with a detailed quote of multiple options after evaluating my house and paying attention to what I was looking for. The quote I received was very well written, detailed, and clearly showed the price breakdown I was looking for. Ray and Paco were the installation team. Both Ray and Paco are professional, courteous, very hard-working, and paid great attention to detail. They went above and beyond to not only adhere to COVID precautions (face masks, gloves, and kept their distancing) but kept our house clean with drop cloths and cleaned up after each evening before leaving. The job took over a week, but we didn't mind because Ray and Paco didn't rush the job and were proud of their work. Ray was awesome and didn't mind helping me fix some of the disconnected lights in the attic and checked on some dilapidated bathroom vents. Paco even painted the attic door for me without me asking, along with the inside return vent. Both guy's attention to detail was such a relief. Overall, I had a great experience with Stewart Air Systems and felt I received a fantastic deal with the unit's price and the craftsmanship of the overall installation and service. The response time was decent. However, after examining my heating system which did not include air-conditioning. Their price was crazy expensive and said they would have to rip out the heating system I had and start over my quote was $30,000 for my house which is not that big. I have since reached out to other Airconditioning places and received much less for quotes. Nice guy just super expensive. read more

We had our whole system replaced last month after dealing with AC and heater that were just struggling for the past 2 years. As my husband said, "It's like we have hotel AC." The systems work great. The communication from the staff was excellent, they responded promptly to any questions we had. The workers that came to work on the house for little over a week were great. Had them diagnose my air conditioning that wasn't cooling. The tech that came over and replaced the capacitor and the air started to blow cold. The tech stayed outside and took out the new one and said the r-22 was low it would cost too much to find and fix the leak so I needed a new system. Stewart quoted me at $16900 to replace the system. Anyways I had Lindsey A/C company come over and they diagnosed I had just 1 pound down on r 22 and a bad capacitor. $372.50 later and my house is cool again. Can't believe this place got such high ratings. Must be from friends and family. I never saw the guy from Stewart use the equipment that Lindsey A/C was using to check for a leak. He just assumed that the system was leaking. The people at Stewart need to be better at doing their due diligence. Will never use them again. read more

They assessed my home and provided a quote the same day. Further, they followed up multiple times for any questions/concerns I had. I went with a different company, but I'm sure they too would have done excellent work. (Their quote was just higher than my preferred manufacturers.) read more

Fast and reliable service. Tech was highly trained and was able to diagnose a problem related to gas flow rates causing an overheat and repeated shutdown on my new HVAC system. It turns out my new system was not installed correctly. After installing a regulator valve, my heater is working again! Stewart AS has my highest recommendation. The installation occurred over the 4th of July holiday, so it was slightly delayed, but since the installation, it has been bliss!!! October of 2022 my wife and I decided that it was time to upgrade our heating and cooling system. We researched the highest rated companies on Yelp in our area, plus had Costco send their preferred contractor out to meet with us. After meeting the reps and getting quotes from over half a dozen companies, my wife and I felt very confident in selecting Stewart Air Systems to do our job. The Stewart brothers came to our house initially to survey our house and make suggestions as to what would work best for us. They were very frank and relaxed and didn't have a "salesman " vibe, but instead were direct about what they'd do for us and were willing to educate us on options that may work for us. One thing that REALLY sold me (which actually may turn some other customers off) is that while all other companies we talked to told us the job would be done in 1 to 2 days, Stewart Air quoted us with an install time of a week. Our install actually took a full 6 days but I am so happy it did. They cleaned out the attic, rebuilt a sturdy platform, deleted the gas lines, ran new electrical, widened the attic opening and ran all the new duct work in a really clean fashion. The crew that were here all week was totally pro and very respectful. Pricing was SUPER competitive and we were actually able to add on a bunch of upgrades to our system because of the great pricing. If you are looking to have any type of HVAC work done, I would highly suggest that you give Stewart Air Systems a call. We are happy we did! read more

My parents recently had their air conditioning and heating redone in their house. I'm writing this review at their request. They are super happy with Stewart Air! The fabulous men were here daily (except the weekend) for two weeks. It's a two story house with a complicated attic. Brothers , Ray-lead tech and Sergio, worked their arses off. They were amazing. Shared very detailed plans with my 75 year old father, and cleaned up after themselves as they cleared the dust. They installed two new systems, created new vents and worked very hard. The air is now so fresh and cool. It's working great and can be controlled by the app I installed on my moms phone. They're so incredibly happy with the service and wanted me to make it clear that they would recommend Stewart Air to everyone! read more

I Contacted last week because my AC stopped blowing cold air. Was able to set up someone coming the next day. Was told someone would be coming by during the time of 12:30 - 2pm. He arrived at 1:50pm and left 30 minutes later. The service guy was nice straight forward found the issue was low refrigerant. He said it was about half full and filled it up. He told me the company would bill me so I was waiting for an invoice. After 3 days I received the invoice of 410$. Which caught me off guard because the pricing was never discussed other than the service fee charge. So I'm getting charged for 130$ service fee and 280$ in 2 pounds refrigerant that I didn't even confirm. For all I know it only needed one pound and I was charged two. Overall the service did what I needed and the guy did the job. But a good business needs to show people what they're buying and how much it's going to cost before hand. Not spring it up on someone days later. 410$ is a lot of money for someone to pay so the least the could do it confirm with the customer before hand. Disappointed to say the least read more

I had a really positive experience with Stewart Air Systems. My home had two separate ancient central HVAC systems, both dead, and needed a complete overhaul. Stewart and Justin both came out quickly to assess and advise on several options including a central system and mini-split options. I ultimately went with a large central system. This required all new ductwork including running ducts across the garage ceiling, and cutting into the floors of rooms that never had vents. This required a lot of exploratory house surgery, including surprises like finding three inches of concrete in the living room that had to be cut through to install a new vent - no problem and no extra charge for the extra work. The crew of Kelly and Tyler started work on the scheduled day (even though Edison shut the local power off that day, the boss delivered a generator so they could work). They arrived bright and early every day and worked hard until the job was done - unlike most contractors who disappear while they juggle other jobs. It took them 14 days but the job was exceptionally well done. Kelly and Tyler were professional and efficient craftsman; they really cared about their work, and they cleaned up thoroughly after the job was completed. Both Justin and Steve were also on site a few times to draw up the designs and supervise the work. Kelly also installed a smart thermostat so now I can control the HVAC from my phone or tell Alexa to turn the AC or heat on, change the temperature, etc. Because of the many positive Yelp reviews, I didn't even bother getting quotes from other companies. The work was done at a fair price, exactly to the penny of what was quoted, in spite of the job being more complicated than expected. So I highly recommend Stewart Air Systems... they are the real deal. read more

California, our AC suddenly called it quits!! It was old so we should have known. I think I called 4-5 other companies to see if they can come (all went to voicemail) and only 1 answered with the only appointment being the week after! We could have handled it but we have 4 small dogs that couldn't! Ended up calling here Saturday 7/7/18 late morning, Steve called me back around 5p that he can come at 6:30p that same day on a Saturday! Steve was very friendly and tried to get our ancient AC to run but we knew it was a lost cause. Ended up going for a new unit. He even tried to get us better pricing than the initial quote since I told them we were low in funds. Compared to what others had quoted us before, it was a very good price. He was able to book a crane (cause our AC unit is on the roof of a condo) and come and install our new AC unit on Tuesday. And found one a little bit cheaper. Very fast and professional considering there were so many people they needed to help. They squeezed us in and even stayed after hours on Tuesday to finish since they already had a booked schedule. Very easy communication via text, phone and in-person and also very respectful. It's rare since a lot of these repair companies know we are at their mercy during situations likes this. These guys put in my AC unit a few years ago (maybe 4-5 years by now?). The sales guy is a great salesperson. Once contract was signed everything was different. They were still "professional" but very snide and not the same 'out of their way to help' attitude. I waited a long time to post about my bad experience because I had one-year "warranty" on the work and didn't want them not to help me if I needed it. However, I did end up needing them to adjust the work because the airflow wasn't even in my tiny 950 sq ft house. They shut off my bathrooms completely and still couldn't get the bedrooms to have similar airflow. It's freezing in one room and hot in another. I called them to help adjust it within a month of install and they were reluctant to help and had attitude. It wasn't fixed really but they assured me it would be fine. I was SO irritated with them I just let it go because it was too much to keep bribing them back for adjustments. Their quote was higher than other companies but I gave them a shot thinking I get what I pay for and paying more was worth the quality install: and also they had so many fantastic reviews on here (lucky people or family/friends?) But the quality of their work sucks. I've had to have other companies come in to fix the duct work they didn't have fastened properly and then I even tried to call them recently to help adjust airflow again (fully willing to pay for the service) ... and it's been 5 days and they haven't returned my call. After I posted a review they called me right away to fix the issue. They came out and made adjustments and guess what? The airflow still sucks! It's great in half the house and the other half of the house it's like there is no A/C. Very disappointing after spending like $12-13k and thinking you have a tiny house it would be easy to cool. These people are a joke. They might be fine for all the others on here, but I would not recommend them. If you go with them anyway- i just hope you don't have the same experience. It's sucks that I won the lottery of being the one customer they totally screw :( Again - the guys are really nice. And when they read this they will probably reach out and be really nice and professional but the bottom line is that I just don't trust their actual work. I want to give them 2 stars, but I'm trying to be a reasonable person here, so I give them 3 stars for being professional. But the unit I paid for doesn't work as advertised. ... so they simply can't have any more stars than that. read more
