We have been without A/C for almost a year. Every time we turned it on, water would leak into my daughter's room flooding the carpet. I called for service and was given a next-day appointment between 2-4 pm. The next day, that time came & went, no call. I called the office to find out if they were still coming. The service person showed up late, spent less than one hour, installed $25 .part, then I was charged $437.75. When I expressed concern about the cost, the reply "there is a one-year warranty" my reply, I hope so at that price. Only then did he offer to check and change my air filter as an after-thought. If that could have been a contributing cause to the demise of the run capacitor, I would think that would be the first thing he would have checked. My A/C was not cooling properly--taking too long to "cool down". The cool air was not cold AC air and was "shutting off" during the cooling cycle. Edward (Canyon Air Systems) found that the capacitor needed replacement (under warranty). We had a lot of headaches after our home ac/furnace system was replaced last summer. There were multiple technician visits to try and diagnose a lack of cooling and issue with a tripping circuit. We finally had the installation supervisor, Tommy G. come over and he took special care to make sure nothing was overlooked. He scheduled a manufacturer tech from Trane and together they were able to narrow down the problem. (the new government efficiency regs have created much more complicated and fragile systems) We were also lucky to still be under installation warranty. Tommy was prompt, courteous, and incredibly dedicated. Also careful and tidy around the house! He spent many hours to rule out all variables and also worked to make sure that we did not have to spend money on additional electrical work. They show up when scheduled and have good automated text systems and good front-office staff to keep things moving along. I'm giving a shout-out to Edward P who was the service rep for our broken heater forced-air motor issue. He's totally professional and followed-through on the service to make sure everything was working. I had an absolutely amazing experience with Edward from Canyon Air. I had them come out to replace an ECM blower motor in my attic unit. Before finding Canyon Air, I had previously had a tech from Steve's 5-Star Service come out and take a look. The other tech wanted to charge OVER TRIPLE the price and played a bunch of price games with me...super sketchy!!! I was so disappointed. 5-Stars....NO WAY! THEN I FOUND CANYON AIR...seriously the entire experience was so much better from start to finish. The front office was kind, understanding, and willing to answer my questions and talk through the situation I had with the other company...and that was after calling at least 3 other places. The technician Edward came to my house and as soon as he arrived he put me totally at ease. He talked through all my concerns and explained how he would be approaching the situation. He diagnosed the same issue and double checked other items just to be sure he had identified all the problems. He gave me updates throughout the process as he called to verify that my unit was under the manufacturers warranty. Once he confirmed that he made the effort to track down the replacement part ON THE SAME DAY and get back out to me to fix it. He had everything swapped out in about an hour. He even made some recommendations to safeguard my unit with a surge protector to protect it from issues in the future...I GLADLY ADDED THE UPGRADE BECAUSE HE EARNED MY TRUST. Canyon Air was incredible! After Angel came and did our regular servicing (he was super thorough) we decided to get an estimate for a new HVAC system due to our system being over 20 years old. After deciding to get a new system, they were at our house the next morning. Daniel and Jesus worked diligently from 7 am to 8 pm so the job would all be completed in one day. Their work was impeccable, and everything was super clean when they were done. Daniel took pictures of all the work done in the attic and thoroughly explained the new system to us. The good: they offer a membership which comes with price perks, and priority assistance (as long as you push for it.) Appointments are usually easy to book (unless it's peek Summer season) and they are usually responsive at all hours of the day/night thanks to their call center. The bad: their biannual visits (with membership) are supposed to be scheduled by them but they never call, so I have to schedule them myself. Some technicians know significantly less than others. They also blame each other for things. (for example: our last tech said there were no notes about our filter sizes on file even though we've been members for over a year, so he didnt replace our filters (which he should have). He just came to my house a few days ago to "check" everything and NOW there's a whistling noise coming from our heater that's keeping us up at night. They will now have to come back to fix something they probably caused. Sometimes they don't show up within the 4hr time frame assigned because they add calls during the day last minute that push everything back. Overall, very inconsistent service. And can't be relied on to do the job they're supposed to upon arrival. However, they do come out on short notice (if you push a bit). read more
