My daughter came her because it had been over a year since her last eye appointment. Plus, over the weekend she had something fly into her and caused scratches that we need to have checked to make sure they were healing. We saw Dr. Vuong who did an amazing job. She checked my daughters eye to make sure that the scratches she got on the lens of her eye were healing properly. She let me know that they were healing l, but noticed that my daughter had eye allergies in both eyes. She recommended eye drops that she would need take to help with that along with what we could to make sure that her has stay moisturized. We would have never know if it wasn't for her checking her eyes. She checked my daughters eyes to see if she was due for a new prescription. She then checked my daughters eye site to see if she was in need of new lens. We were told she would needs new lens, which made my daughter happy cause this means she was going to get new frames. Dr. Vuong walked us over to the other side to look and lens and asked them to help us and help us with pricing to see if there was any discounts or anything with our insurance. Daniel helped us with finding my daughters frames and working with us on pricing. He was extremely helpful and let us know what the best deals were like that would work with our insurance. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new eye doctor and glasses! They were all extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. These people are the BEST! I had ARMANI EXCHANGE glasses made while living in CA almost 2 years ago and the right lens seemed to always pop out. We moved to the Midwest and I kept having the same issue, but I LOVED the frames. I finally called them and told them the issue, and Nayeli R told me to send them in for them to fix. 2 weeks later they sent me a BRAND NEW pair of glasses and the lens fits perfect. Decent selection but don't believe the hype about two pairs for $80. Those are for the most basic, crappy frames and lenses. Normal people who wear glasses every single day know lighter weight, scratch resistant, polarized, etc are always necessary when investing in a new yearly pair of specs. They went out of their way to help my young son find the right glasses and feel comfortable. The insurance on the glasses that covers scratches and breaks has been the best ever! No questions asked they've replaced his lenses multiple times due to scratches and his frames have needed to be replaced twice which they have done same day. Great customer service! The selection of glasses was great!! And what was even better was the fact I was able to find the frame I liked AND pick them up about an hour later!!! I'm used to having to wait about a week or so for my new glasses! Got my contacts sent to my house for free and glasses same day. AWESOME! After twelves days, continuously changing explanations, and three trips to the store they were unable to make an acceptable pair of glasses. The retail staff is pleasant enough but the lab seems to be totally incompetent. The excuses kept changing and eventually I decided to ask for a refund. They were only willing to give me a partial refund so I paid sixty dollars to waste a ton of time and have no glasses. I will not be returning to eyeglass world. read more

I don't like writing reviews but I have had enough with Eyeglass world honestly. I took my own frame and wanted them to put lenses on them and I paid about $200 or more and they said they will be ready in a week or two. And it has been a month now and every time I call they say it will be ready in a week. This happened last year as well, I wanted to get my pair of contacts before going on vacation and they told me it will be ready before that date and they made sure but the day came and I left California without my contacts. What's going one with this business!! This is my last time going there and if anyone goes there for glasses DONT! You guys don't value your customers. I've paid a lot of money and this is what I get? I should have not spend any money going there and if it would be possible I wish I can get a refund. I can't believe this. You either be honest and tell me it takes a month or don't make me wait a week or two for my glasses because people have a life and things to do. This is BS I am done going there. read more

I've been sitting on this review for awhile, but I've reached the point of beyond fed up. I took my husband to Eyeglass World about a year back and had a good experience, so I decided to get my new glasses made there this past February. I've regretted that decision ever since. Even with my insurance and their "free" pair of glasses, I ended up spending close to $800 on 3 pairs: everyday, computer, and sunglasses. It was excessive and they automatically include their "$15 insurance" without asking/informing you (which I'll bring up again later). Their selection of frames are incredibly in fashion, meaning all of them are huge. I spent hours trying to find a plastic frame small enough to fit my face. They had to search through their discontinued frames for me to find something that doesn't press against my cheeks. Now, the biggest nightmare was my bifocal. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED A BIFOCAL. I can't even remember how many times I needed my lenses remade. The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful until something went wrong--then it was my fault. They made the bifocal line too low? Well, I should have caught that before they sent it to the lab. The bifocal line came back from the lab crooked (which happened at least 4 times)? Well, I need to deal with it. I had to get them to remake my glasses so many times between their error and lab error that they charged me an extra $40. They claimed that I was using their insurance, which I unknowingly paid for, to fix THEIR mistakes. The opticians also lied to me about my bifocals on numerous occasions. The store manager said that having a bifocal at your lash line was "medically unnecessary" while another optician said "it's normal to have to tilt your head back to read, you just need to get used to it" and a third told me, "it doesn't look THAT crooked". They not only refused to admit fault, they berated me for having an issue. I have never had an issue like this before and I've been wearing bifocals for over 20 years. Now, after all the remakes and arguments, I've had my glasses for about 3 months. The bifocals on my sunglasses are too low, but I gave up on arguing. My computer glasses creak because the bifocal was manufactured crooked (again) and the opticians rotated the lens in the frame to make it straight (not a proper fix). And my everyday glasses are trash. I've only been wearing them for 3 months, I take excellent care of them, and they're scratched so badly that I can barely see out of them. Basic wear and cleaning has destroyed their cheap anti-reflective coating. I'm completely livid. I wasted hundreds of dollars on a defective product. And I'm sure, if I went back right now to have them remade, they would blame me for the scratches and charge me even more money. read more

Poor customer service let alone LIARS! Their sign clearly states buy one set of glasses and get one free and that surely was not the case. We also found out they gave us a different prescription for my daughter than the doctor ordered. I highly recommend not going to this place they have no compassion nor customer service and will NOT take care of you when you need them to. Nothing but a joke. read more

Went there today & bought the 2 for $78 frames but was not told if I use my insurance or get any upgrades, like better lenses or add on options, you don't get the 2nd one free offer anymore. Left the office & went to get some tacos & was checking out the receipt & decided to go back & question why I was charged $78 for ea. That's when I found out the actual problem with the discount. Turned out to be a few dollars less than if I got all the cheaper options w/o the upgrades. So beware of the charges before you leave. There are some catches to the 2 for 1 deals. Still need to get the glasses in about a week because they had to be ordered. Hopefully they work out ok in the end. read more

Word of warning to anyone considering going to Eyeglass World (Santee, CA) for new glasses - DON'T. While I knew that I would not actually get 2 pairs of glasses for $78 as their advertising says, it actually ended up being $600! I expected to pay more because of my prescription but I've never paid $600 for glasses in my life. When I tried to buy just one pair - which logically would be $300 I was told it would only be $45 less. I ordered them but then, after thinking about it on my drive home, decided they are a total rip-off and called to cancel my order. The young lady told me it would take 7-14 days to issue the refund - this was 20 minutes after I left the store! Really? Lost my business, lost my husband's business and I will be sharing with everyone I know. Can you give 0 stars? read more

I kinda don't want anyone else to even know about this place because I want to keep them all to myself! Lol I had an excellent experience today at Eyeglass World. All of the ladies who work there are so nice and attentive. I found the cutest pair of kids frames and got a second pair for free!!!!! And both pairs of glasses were ready in an hour!!!!! They have a protection plan in case your glasses get damaged. They also have some designer frames there too. And we left with a little goodie bag with cute cases, cleaner & cloths, pens, magnets, etc. My experience was PERFECT! I will definitely be back again and again :) read more

Gave them a try but my no line bifocals went fro $158 for two pair to almost $500. Went across the street to Costco and basically $350 for the same thing. Staff was very friendly and helpful but felt like bait and switch by the time they added things up. Sorry they need to be more upfront with pricing. read more

Not Happy!! I got a call to pick up my glasses, and when I went in an employee handed me a pair of glasses with Trifocal lenses which I did not order. He said sorry he will send them back, but it will be another 2 weeks. I asked if I was charged for Trifocals. He said yes, and my credit card would get credited the difference. I asked how much, and he gave me the deer in head lights look then responded "uh not sure probably $25-30 dollars". When I got home I checked my receipt. No where does it mention Trifocals. Something I didn't catch until reviewing my receipt was a charge for $25. The girl who sold me the glasses told me how great Eyeglass World was, and if I ever needed my glasses fixed there would be no charge. She didn't mention she was charging me $25 for this service. The optometrist is great but the girls who work in the eye glass store are the worst. They are rude and have the worst customer service. Especially the girl with the tattoo's she tried to tell me if I didn't by glasses there I couldn't take my prescription with me that my insurance paid for. I don't usually do Yelp reviews but these guys earned it. I had done my actual eye exam at an optometrists office that was in my vision insurances' list. Went fine, no real issues. However because I am an awful procrastinator I did it about 2 weeks before a weeklong vacation trip and it would take them possibly 10 business day to get my glasses. So after a quick search I found this place and took my prescription in. They went over my options with me and were able to get my lenses done in a day. However when I got them something was wrong, my vision was magnified and I was feeling nauseated while driving and even walking. After 4 days of this I went back and had them check the lenses and everything was as the prescription ordered. So i called the Optometrists and asked if they could check my prescription. They said that I would have to wait till I got back because they were booked. So I called Eyglasses World. They were able to get me in for a redo on my exam that same afternoon, refund the bad lenses and get me a new updated pair at no charge. I picked up my new pair today and it's much better now. These guys went above and beyond and I'll be coming back here from now on. read more

Went in for the two pairs of glasses for $79. Now I know that there is always markups, up-selling, etc. But this place was relentless. I told them that my vision insurance doesn't kick in for a couple months but need a pair of glasses now. First price was $865. Yes, you read that correctly. I went back to the small selection of $79 deal frames and picked one out. Final cost, $564. I asked how that can be and the worker proceeded to list every upgrade and option to come to that total. I reminded them that this is just temporary and they put on the hard sell again, "well you don't want to just throw away the money your spending so you should get something you want". I told them what I wanted, they just refused to listen. Oh, the doctor who did the eye prescription was excellent, too bad the rest of the experience (and major loss of time) was bad. read more

This is the second update to my first review. My initial experience with Eyeglass World at it's location in Santee, CA wasn't good as the lens fell out of my new glasses twice in a very short time. I was surprised and impressed when, after posting my first review, I was contacted by the District Manager and she not only offered to replace my glasses but also to repair my defective pair. So far so good. After two weeks, I picked up my new pair and left the old ones to be fixed. I was told it would only take a day or two since the defective lens only needed to have the bottom groove deepened so the lens wouldn't fall out. After a week and a half I returned only to be told that they weren't ready but that they would be ready by 4:30 that day. I replied that I'd have to come back for them sometime in the next two days. I stopped by the next day in the afternoon. The young man had some difficulty locating my glasses. When he finally found them, the container had the glasses in it complete with lenses but also with a set of loose lenses. Originally new lenses weren't going to be made. He wasn't sure if the lenses currently in the glasses were the old lenses or the new ones. He said they felt wobbly when he was adjusting them so he suspected the glasses still had the old lenses in them and no repair had been made. He assured me that the technician would return in an hour or two and that he would know which lenses were which. It's been over 24 hours now and I haven't heard a thing. This has been very inconvenient and there seems to be confusion about what was to be done. I think that there are some issues at that particular location that are creating a bad experience. I think the District Manager did all she could to make things right but the store in Santee has not followed through. Hopefully this will resolve soon and the glasses will be effectively repaired but my time has been wasted and my friends can't believe it when they hear each new difficulty. I've never had so much trouble buying eyeglasses before. read more

TOTALLY DISGUSTED !!!! I don't recommend this place to anyone !!! It all started back in January when I went in for checkup and new glosses- then needed new ones AGAIN in June -- had to pay all over again so now almost $1000 total !!!! In July -back again and finally went to a higher up dr. ( opthomologist ) and was told neede cataract surgery right away !!! ( not what I was told by Dr Armini at eyeglass world !! Now I'm out $1000- glasses I can't use - called their corporate office and was told nothing they can do !!!!! Wish I would've had my mom in every visit bc what the dr said " in her notes" was not what she told me !!!! Ughhhhhhhh . Today I wanted to at least have the lenses in my sunglasses changed out to just nonprescription llences and was told it would cost me $80 !!!!!! WHAT AN EXPENSIVE NIGHTMARE !!!!! read more

I recently had an accident and broke my glasses. I had already paid for the year long insurance and went back to the Eyerglass World in Pt. Loma where I bought them. However, the manager at the Pt. Loma store was extremely rude and discriminated against my disability. He tried to rip me off, even though I had already paid for the insurance to fix said glasses. I went to the Santee branch and completely the opposite. The staff there was very nice and did not try to rip me off. I didn't pay a dime for my repairs. THANKS GUYS!. read more
