I just wanted to share a POSITIVE review for Ramona Eye Care- They had soooo much patience for my mom and didn't mind repeating what they were saying, finding the right volume so she could hear them, rewording whatever she wasn't understanding, and letting her take ten minutes to pick a pair of glasses I'm always worried that any Dr we go to isn't going to be sweet or accommodating and all the girls at the eye care were extremely sweet, patient, and let her go at her own pace. This was my first visit to Ramona Eye Care, though I've been wearing contacts or glasses for about 60 years, so I've been to a fair number of optometrists over the years. The service by the front office personnel at the last optometrist that I had been visiting for many years had in my opinion become less than acceptable given the distance I needed to travel there; and so I decided it was time for a change and looked for a well-reviewed local optometrist. After reviewing various review sites including Yelp, I selected Ramona Eye Care to give a try. I could not have been happier as the staff at both the front desk and in fitting my frames were both very pleasant and efficient. Of even more importance, Dr. Cervantes is very professional and knowledgeable, and during the exam identified specific issues that I should discuss with my ophthalmologist, that I see once a year. The office appears to be very up to date technology-wise and this was nothing but a positive experience from the time I walked in the door until I left. read more

Good customer service with all of the staff. Dr is very good and I can see better than I ever have. I have a very difficult prescription and the Dr is patient enough to take the time to get it right. Of course my eyeglasses arm broke in the midst of this Coronvirus so I had to visit Ramona Eyecare and spoke with Heather. She told me it needs to be repaired because my glasses are not under warranty anymore. I told her I had no money since I got laid off due to this pandemic and she took my glasses in the back, found a replacement part and fixed my glasses until I can get the repair. My entire family has been coming to Ramona Eye Care for several years. They are great at eye exams and fitting my husband and I for the right contacts. My kids both needed glasses this past visit and they managed to get the glasses made while we waiting, much to my kids' happiness. 9/11/15: adding to my previous review. My daughter needed special contacts to help her vision to not worsen and everyone there was so great about making her and I feel comfortable putting them in and taking them out, she is only 8. On top of that, the doctor went out and got a special bag for my girl to keep her supplies in that is perfect for a little girl! If I could give zero stars I would. They quoted one price for the additional contact lense fitting then after completing the basic exam they said "oh the fitting will be $50 more than we quoted you. Now We're stuck because they used up my one free exam a year with my insurance. They need to honor the price they quoted and not come up with new prices after I have no other choice. read more

Everyone was friendly, and the doctor seemed very capable if a bit brusque. That wouldn't put me off normally but my problem with them is this: I called in before making an appointment and asked specifically if a contact lens exam was any more expensive than a normal exam, and if so, how much as I am on a very tight budget. I was told by the receptionist that an eye exam was $90, and when I asked again if a contact lens fitting was extra she repeated that it was $90. When I went to pay I was informed that my total was $170, and when I told her that she'd told me different over the phone she just shrugged and wanted to know I would prefer to pay in two separate payments. I tried explaining again that my problem was that I was told a different price. She didn't apologize, or even react at all other than to ask if I wanted one or two payments. I also have to go back for a check up in a week before I can order any new contact lenses. I wish I'd taken the farther drive down the hill to my normal eye doctor, Dr. Selby, as he's about half the price. Edit: When I went back for my follow up appointment I did get an apology from both the doctor and receptionist, and $30 credit against the cost of my contacts, which I appreciated. I'm not 100% happy, but I am content that they at least tried to fix the problem a little, so I upped my review from 3 stars to 4. read more

This place was great, the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable especially of my insurance and what was provided and the doctor was very friendly and thorough. The staff didn't mind when my eight-month-old baby began to scream and cry, they even took it a step further and played with him and watch him while I finished up with the doctor.
