Sigh... John really wanted to put me in Polycarbonate lenses. I have a strong prescription, (he should have noticed), so I informed him I needed high-index lenses. He wrote up the paperwork for high-index. Never once asked about 1.67 vs 1.74 and the chromatic issues caused with my astigmatism. No, he just charged me extra for "high index" lenses, then ordered me some polycarbonate bottlecaps. This really is fraud, but I'm too busy to deal with it. My old glasses are still fine and the prescription didn't change. read more

Love this place! I called in with no advanced notice asking if I could be seen, and they accommodated me. Awesome. I got a very thorough eye exam. Everything was carefully and clearly explained to me. The prices were very reasonable. They took my insurance (EyeMed). They have a lovely interior. It is extremely clean, modern, and comfortable. I liked the receptionist and the doctor I interacted with. Both were friendly and professional. I ordered some colored contacts and they got them for me in a day. They estimated up to a week to get them in, then beat that estimate by a lot. Nice. Their bathroom is very clean, well-kept, and smelled nice. That's always a good thing! Much appreciated. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment with Dr. Odish. The appointment was prompt and I felt like the full exam was thorough. ***As a side note I had previously gone to a different optometrist but felt too rushed and didn't get the correct prescription and was not happy about that experience. The staff at Pomerado Scripps Optometry was even helpful in finding the perfect frame for me. John asked what type of frame I like (plastic or metal) and when I showed him a picture of a frame I previously had and loved, he said "oh I know". Pulled a few options for me. It completely beat my previous experience of going in circles trying on a bunch of frames and feeling confused. I'm excited for my glasses to come in!!! read more

UPDATE: There seems to be a lack of communication between the Receptionist and the doctor. From what Understand the doctor is great and takes care of you but dealing with Evelyn was a big headache! I do not know how this place is rated so highly. I sent my husband here to get his contacts prescription renewed and he came out with his old contacts and said they were going to order a sample as they didn't have any in stock. Almost a week later, we picked up a 3 month supply of contacts but no sample. I called and asked where his sample was and I was told it was going to take another 15 days to receive a sample! I don't understand how or why a optometrist would go ahead and have him order a 3 month supply of a new contact prescription without having him to try it on. I will update as I get any new information. Extremely disappointed here. I was hoping to bring my family here as he said they seemed to do a good job checking his eyes.. read more

I could launch into a long winded review that tries to ascribe credit to the few things that were right about my experience, but that would be an exercise in futility. Ok. Sorry. I want to be fair. Odish did give me an eye exam that, only because I myself am not an optometrist, have to believe was done accurately and by the book and was, very much and precisely so, the eye exam I had anticipated. Otherwise...... This place is a sales room: from the front of house where Odish's husband will try to scam you into a gratuitously costly pair of frames, to the exam room where Odish herself will try to tack on unneeded extras like eye drops and special lenses. They're pushy and manipulative and all they're looking out for is the quickest and easiest way to squeeze the most money they can out of you. Unethical and unprofessional charlatans. I typically like to support small, local businesses and was thrilled to find a well-regarded optometrist very near my home when I moved here a few years ago, but this establishment is terrible. I went in to get my eyes checked in mid-December 2019 and paid a few hundred dollars for an annual supply of contacts. Their prices are high, but again I think it's important to support local businesses. They promised that the contacts would arrive in a few days and that they would call me when they were available for pickup. They didn't call for a few weeks, but I figured that they must have been busy with the holidays and perhaps there were some shipping delays so I waited until late January to drop by their office to see if my contacts had arrived. They told me that they had forgotten to order them and that they would order them immediately and call me in a few days to pick them up. A few weeks later, I dropped by again and they again told me that they had forgotten to order the contacts. This time, they promised to order them immediately and call me that day to give me an estimated arrival date. They did not call, so I dropped by a week later and was again told that they had not ordered my contacts and again promised to call me later in the day with an estimated arrival date. They never did call, the pandemic lockdowns had started and they would not answer their phones. I consulted my company's HR team and they suggested that I file a claim for insurance fraud since insurance had paid for the contacts and they were not delivered. They told me to start a paper trail and email the optometrist notifying them that I would pursue a case of insurance fraud, so I did and they finally sent me contacts a week later. It took just under 4 months to receive my contacts after 4 visits to their office and numerous unanswered phone calls. Due to the pandemic, I decided to forego some things this year, including an eye exam, understanding that most businesses are operating at limited capacity and there are many people out there who need their eyes checked more than I do. I ordered contacts online this year for the first time and referred them to this business to verify my prescription, but they rejected it and said that I needed to get another eye exam. Is this really how they're treating people in a pandemic? Instead of helping people isolate at home and approving a prescription that's barely a year old, they're going to hassle me about coming into their office? It was near the end of the year, I didn't have time to schedule an appointment with them, and since they rejected the prescription, my order for contacts was cancelled and my benefits expired. Now I'll have to pay a few hundred dollars out of pocket for my contacts because this business decided to reject my prescription because they couldn't squeeze a few bucks out of me for an exam in the middle of a pandemic. read more

The great place for teens. Dr. Amaal Odish came recommended from a few moms in my neighborhood. She is very kind, compassionate and patient with teens who have trouble getting in contact lenses. My daughter came in traumatized from another office that pressured her to get in the contact lenses in 30 minutes. Dr. Amaal gave her extra time and so much encouragement - she finally got them in. After not having had an eye exam for a few years, I needed to get new glasses, so I found this business through my insurance, called and got an appointment for the next day. It was super easy to book. The doctor was very thorough in her exam and explained everything which I really appreciated. Afterwards, they helped me pick out new frames and were very helpful during this process as well. My name is Jin and i am using my husband's account to give Dr. Odish the review. I have been going to Dr. Odish a few years and each time we had a great experience. I came in last month and took my eye exam and john ordered my glasses. According to our plan i will come in the office picking them up once my glasses arrive. Then a few days after my eye exam, i made an emergency decision to move out of california. I told john my friend will pick it up and mail the glasses to me. When the glasses came, john actually went to post office himself and mailed it to my new house, along with a pretty case, wipes, my prescription in a nice little package. I think he is so nice mailing it by himself for a customer who already left. During this corona era, lots of people even are doing grocery shopping online and avoiding going to stores. He really could have asked my friend to pick it up and that could have saved him extra work and be less risky too. John's customer service is exceptional. I've gotten all of my previous eyeglasses from LensCrafters or Costco. I will not be returning to either of those places. This prescription is far better than I have had before and the customer service was fantastic. Dr. Odish was very easy to work with and John was very helpful and knowledgeable helping find the right frame. There was a problem with my original sunglass frames when they came in and he got them replaced with no hassle. I found doctor Odish professional and accommodating but unfortunately i had many issues after ordering my glasses. there was one headache after another and one of my glasses after couple of weeks of use has to be replaced because one of the lenses keep pupping out and i am just too tired of dealing with this operation and am going to cut mylosses and go elsewhere to order another glasses, although I am out of insurance credit... Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for going above and beyond to help me with my eyeglasses. I recently had cancer surgery and my eyeglasses I had had just picked up were too large and kept falling off. As soon as I was able I took them back and requested smaller frames. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I went in for an annual eye exam, and all they wanted to do was fit me for glasses. I don't need glasses!!! I see fine/better without them. They practically forced me to buy glasses. When I did pick out a pair, they didn't end up working, and they wouldn't give me a refund, nor let me exchange them for another pair. They didn't tell me this beforehand, either. When I went in to pick up my glasses, the man there had the worst customer service I'd ever seen. He waited a long time, then said he didn't have my glasses. Then he found them. He was very rude to me. When the glasses wouldn't work out, he said "Well why did you come in here in the first place?" My worst experience at an optometrist. They called to change the appointment from 11 am to 9 am and when i showed up at 9 am they were not there until 930 am with Starbucks in hand. The optometrist dilated my eyes and i asked if i would be okay to drive after, she asked "how far away do you live?" And when i told her around 5-10 minutes she said i would be fine. After my eyes were dilated, the receptionists insisted on me signing lots of paperwork which I was unable to after having my eyes dilated. I do not have vision insurance and tried to tell them that i was paying out of pocket but they still insisted on trying to find my health insurance. Once I got to my car with my new prescription (eyes dilated and all) the receptionist chased down my car saying he gave me the wrong persons prescription! I could not see to verify my name on the prescription and should not have been advised to drive home!!! Overall very unimpressed and unhappy with my experience here and definitely WILL NOT BE BACK!!! read more

I came in for a glasses and contact exam the other day. This place is amazing!!! Everything from the exam to trying on glasses was very comfortable. They sanitized everything between clients which was much appreciated. They had such amazing customer service and helped with making sure I got the right glasses for my face. There are a lot of options for eyewear (including nice ass sunglasses) and it can be overwhelming. They helped me go through as many glasses as I needed to be comfortable. This place is way better than those big name optometrists who leave you to your own to pick things out half blind and dilated. 13/10 recommend. read more
