We visited Excel Eyecare Optometry this past summer and had an overall excellent experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, organized, and efficient. My family and I were in and out much faster than expected, and our glasses arrived within two weeks, which was a nice surprise. The fitting process was smooth and stress-free, and they made sure everything was comfortable before we left. What really stood out was how well they treated my little one -- the woman helping her took the time to teach her how to use her new glasses, adjust them properly, and make sure she felt confident wearing them. That level of patience and care goes a long way. If I had to give a precise rating, I'd say the experience felt like a 4.7 star visit -- but since Yelp doesn't do decimals, I'm rounding up to a solid 5 stars. They truly earned it. After some yelping, I finally came across this optometry office and had great reviews so I figured let's try it out. I was immediately met by someone who was helping someone else but she made sure I was checked in and had all the paperwork first. At first look, the office looked organized, clean and had excellent lighting which is important. I was immediately brought back and an assistant went through all the pre procedure tests and then I was met by Dr. Duong and she was amazing. She quickly got to the exam and was very helpful in explaining the whole process and findings in a very clear manner. She was very attentive, personable and thorough. I highly recommend seeing her. Once the exam was finished, I took at a look at the frame section which included a lot of top brands including Nike, Gucci, Lacoste, ray ban and many more. The only negative thing would be that I was not really assisted in the process of choosing which frame or which frame may be good with my particular face structure. I was just advised to take a look around and let them know if I had questions. The staff did provide good feedback on the questions I asked but it would have been nice to have them assist a little more. If you have good vision and just need an eye exam or you know you'll be taking your prescription elsewhere this place isn't a bad choice. However, I got my glasses through the office and waited 2 months to receive them. I was met with excuses that the lab had messed up - whether that was true or not I think with there should've been more accountability. If I was someone who really needed those glasses, I'd HATE to live life for 2 months without my glasses. I've seen other reviews where it takes a very long time to get the glasses so if this is an issue the office has, it seems like perhaps they should choose a different lab to work with or put out a disclaimer when ordering. If the office had said that the glasses would be ready in 2 months instead of 3 weeks I would've felt that it was normal to wait my 2 months, instead of being worried about what happened and expecting them. read more

The front desk is attentive and they call you in on time for your appt. The optometrist was also wonderful. However I would say the iffy part which I'm still processing how I feel is the payment part at the end. I was told I would be emailed my receipt but never got it..I know it could be a simple mistake but usually, businesses are on top of providing receipts especially after you order contacts. Now that it is e-everything, it is a little bizarre to me. I'll have to call in to follow up. Update- they apologized and immediately emailed me the receipt. Update again- I was told at payment that it was "possible" that my purchase of an annual supply of contacts could qualify for a Manufacturers rebate (but I have to directly search and apply myself via their website. The staff did disclaim that it wasn't guaranteed. However, just based on a possibility, I tried to apply and apparently, it is based on if the provider participated in the rewards program..so, if they didn't participate as of last year, why tell me about this at all? Very odd, but thanks for disclaiming? Knocking it back down to 4 stars cuz of the overall experience combined. read more

So glad to find an optometrist close to me! Everything from setting up an appointment to my eye exam was super easy and went smoothly. When I called to make an appointment as a new patient, their staff was friendly and quick with information they needed and scheduling my appointment. Usually, I expect to have long waits at doctor appointments but this clinic is quick and straight to the point! Love that it saves me time without feeling rushed and sloppy. They offer retinal eye imaging at a low cost which I appreciated since my insurance doesn't cover that. I saw Dr. Wernow and she was super kind, thorough and knowledgeable when I asked questions. The staff was friendly in person and efficient with the different tests required for me to do my contact lens fitting. I got to wear a pair of contacts home to try out and can call back to order them if I like them. I have been wearing CRT corrective lenses for almost 10 years. I recently got an eye infection related to wearing contact lenses and was advised that I stop wearing them immediately. A different optometrist was concerned that I had worn the night contact lenses for so long and had me switch to glasses right away. At the last appointment I had here, I was told that I would be able to wear the contact lenses for the foreseeable future. During appointments, I was always taken in later than my scheduled time and felt rushed while talking to the doctor. Additionally, during and after COVID-19, the office used the excuse of preventing the spread of COVID to avoid providing contact lens cleaning services. read more

I have been coming here for a few years and all the staff and doctors have been really nice and professional (and are diligent about following COVID-19 precautions). They informed me my contact lenses qualified as medically necessary due to my high prescription so I didn't have to pay as much as usual (which no other eye doctor ever told me about). I've been a patient of Dr. Gan's for almost 10 years now and I always have the most pleasant experience with her practice. Dr. Gan is personable, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about you and your well being. She's open and honest about answering questions and doesn't try to sell you on anything you don't actually need. The office staff is always pleasant as well. Friendly faces every time I walk in, as a handful of staff have been there for a while. In person or over the phone I always have my questions thoroughly answered and/or explained and requests for information are fulfilled almost immediately. They also don't try and sell you anything you don't need. They're very knowledgeable on their products and give honest recommendations. I always get new frames every 2 years and I'm NEVER disappointed by their selection. My insurance is rather good so I usually get a high end brand and their selection is fantastic. I've gotten Marc Jacobs, Valentino and Tiffany's from there. More recently their Ray Ban selections are always the most current styles, for both reading frames and sunglasses. The pair I got last year have been the best frames I've gotten so far. I get stopped frequently asking where I got them and I'm always pleased to direct them to this office and practice. Once entered I had my temperature taken, which is respectable due to these pandemic times. Vivian took me back first to do some testing to see how my eyes were doing. All of her staff wear coats and masks which easy my worries. Even witness everyone sanitize their hands. When I went in for my eye appointment Dr. Gan was very detailed and caring about my eye prescription. Afterwards, I got some time to speak with Daisy and Jason to pick out new frames for my eye glasses. They informed me that all of their frames have been sanitized on the wall and even if I touch a frame they asked me to place it in a tray so they can sanitize the frame again, which is much appreciated. I'm not the best patient since I had radial keratotomy surgery and Lasik years later and now have borderline cataract in one eye. Because these conditions deteriorated my eyesight, working at my computer all day was getting unbearable and discerning which letters I could see better during Dr. Gann's exam was difficult. As a result, although there was considerable improvement with my new prescription, I was not seeing as well as I would have liked. Over the course of a few weeks, Angie and John worked with me trying different solutions such as high index-type of lenses. Eventually Dr. Gann re-examined me and with the new lenses and a different prescription, badda bing badda boom, I can now see really well. Angie and John spent considerable time with me and not once did they make me feel like I was an imposition on them. On the contrary, I felt like they really wanted me to be a satisfied patient and would do what it takes to make that happen. A friend spoke highly of this place so I thought I would check it out. I did not have an appt but they still were able to get me in. I have really bad eyes I'm talking -9.50 and they were able to give me a lot of information about what shape would be best for me since my lenses on my glasses would be very thick. Initially a male was helping me who was super nice I think his names was James and then his coworker Daisy took over. I ended up leaving to check out other places but decided to come back. Daisy was so nice and professional and she went above and beyond to look for other glasses that weren't on the floor for me. Great place! Have been going here for years( My mother, sister, and I) and never a problem. They are all so helpful, never over crowded, never a long wait. Today, my sister and I got our screws tightened and replaced. Which they do for free if you buy your glasses with them, excellent! Great selection of brands and frames and they adjust the glasses for you as many times as you need until it fits just right. Travis helped us out at the front with great service, and even gave us a complimentary generic glasses case when we asked if they sold cases. Amber also did amazing job working with our glasses.
