Ive been to dr meyers twice. Last year he wasnt bad, I got my contact prescription just fine and got glasses. This year though (my son and I went in early Feb 2013) I am not impressed. He said my 7 yo son needs glasses, but I didnt agree so I took my son to another optometrist in town(a must nicer and cleaner one) and was told he is a little farsighted, but that he didnt really need glasses, that it was optional. (I wanted to second opinion) so I asked Dr Meyers for a refund on the glasses my son will not be using and he refused, convinced that he needed glasses. The prescription was much higher than the one the other eye Dr in town gave us. Also, when I got in this year for my eye exam, he had lost my chart. So we made a new one and he said my eyes hadn't changed much and was going to try me in a different brand of contacts. this was Sat and they were supposed to be in Mon. I called the following Thursday and was told that he received the wrong pair of toric lenses. I don't wear toric lenses and he told me in my exam that I didn't need them. I mentioned this over the phone and he said 'no, you need toric lenses(this was my first hint that something might me amiss) I waited 2 more weeks for him the get the 'correct' pair in. He NEVER called me. I ended up going to a different eye dr in town(the same one I took my son to: Ramona Eye Care, in the Stater Bros plaza) and she was wonderful. So I went in asking him for a refund on the 120$ I gave him for my lenses and he looked in my chart and said I hadn't been there for over a year(guess he finally found the chart that he lost at my appt) He did refund me for the lenses, but not the glasses for my son. My thoughts are if he cant get things right from my exam to what he ordered for me, how can I trust him to have a correct diagnosis for my son. Also, when I was checking out after our appt with him, 3 times in a row, he printed me a receipt with someone else s name on it(I wonder if that other girl is the one that needed the toric lenses) I think Dr Myers does know his stuff, but he REALLY needs someone working with him helping him stay organized. His office is REALLY unorganized, messy, and dirty. He never cleaned off the equipment that touched my skin before I used it(other drs Ive been to clean everything with a little alcohol wipe before it touches the next persons skin). He has a huge TV that is always on way too loud. I fear that he was trying to sell us the glasses, just to make some money(Im sure most know that buying glasses at the optometrist always costs more than going to a place like walmart) I hope that is not the case. I was unsatisfied with him. If he got a secretary and got his office cleaned and organized better, I may go back. Until he gets his office cleaned up and patient ready, I suggest Ramona Eye Care next to pizza hut in the stater bros plaza. read more
