I was in need of a new prescription for my glasses and contact lenses. 3 weeks ago, I went in to see Dr Gregg and his assistant, Betty. They were very professional and friendly. I was able to get my exam done thoroughly and it was inexpensive, since I do not have insurance, I paid out of pocket. Dr Gregg also gave me some contact lenses as samples to try. I honestly don't know why I haven't written this sooner. I have been seeing Dr Gregg for several years now and even though I've since moved to the coast I still drive to La Mesa to see him. I have also referred several patients to him and they have been happy, too. I wish I could do an all-Yelp post asking reviewers to think carefully when they write reviews on small businesses. I think it is only fair to give them more than one chance before issuing a one-star review. I understand if the service is truly and consistently terrible but that is almost never the case. And in a medical practice it is always wise to approach the provider (not the front desk person and not via text) with concerns and allow them to rectify it, if possible. I will continue to see Dr. Gregg because he listens well, answers my questions thoroughly, and helps to keep my vision perfect! read more

I was in serious need of an eye exam and it slipped my mind for months now. So today I called this office since it was close to my house and work, I was told to come right in and at first I thought, that's not what I was expecting. So I literally headed right over on my lunch, and was in and out with my new prescription in less than an hour. No wait whatsoever. The office is located inside the Walmart. Super convenient! Very professional environment too. The receptionist was so nice and made me feel welcomed. Also I was the only person in the office at the time but there was tons of room for social distancing and sanitizer was easily accessible. The office is super clean and I felt completely comfortable. With the onset of the pandemic I have been spending more time than ever on my laptop. When I had my appointment with Dr. Gregg he listened to my comments about there not being enough ideal computer screen distance focus in my progressive lens prescription. Dr. Gregg asked if I'd be interested in having a prescription optimized for computer screen time. I just got my glasses and they are awesome. I've had several eye exams over the years at this office, conveniently located inside of Wal Mart. I've had nothing but positive experiences with both Dr Gregg and his staff in all the years I've been going there. Recently, I was browsing the eyeglasses at Walmart vision center when I found a pair I liked. When they checked their computer, I was shocked to learn that my prescription had expired. I literally had to walk just a few steps next-door to see if Dr. Gregg was available to give me an exam so I could get a new prescription. I filled out some papers and in about 5 minutes I was sitting in front of the Doctor who was, as always, professional, friendly and efficient. The woman who checked me in and checked me out was also friendly and very good at her job. When I came back an hour after my exam to ask for colored contacts samples she got up right away and grabbed me what I wanted. When I called back yesterday, several months after my exam, asking her to email me my prescription, I had it in about 30 minutes! A++ service and the lowest prices!!! read more

I've been using Dr.Gregg for a few years, pricing is very reasonable and I LOVE that he puts the PD on the script. I've used him for contacts, glasses, kids and relatives for retina checks for diabetes. He's through and personable and pricing is very reasonable. My husband, friend and I have been seeing Dr. Gregg for probably six years. We recommend him to all our friends. He seems extremely knowledgeable about everything including other health problems that can affect your eyes (for me, Celiac disease causes dehydration, affecting my eyes) he always knows what symptoms I'm having before I even tell him and I reply, "Yes!" & am amazed he knew. My husband has had glasses for 35 years since he was a child, and he's never been happier with another eye doctor. His prescriptions are SPOT ON. I have been wearing contacts and eyeglasses for years and have never had a Dr give me a wrong prescription until now saw Dr. Jeff Gregg. I ordered glasses and contacts under the prescription he gave me and soon realized it wasn't right. When went into tell them he reexamined and gave me a different prescription then the first but blamed it on the contact brand I was wearing for years. So he switched my brand to what he said was even "less expensive" one -which they were double the price and it was still wrong! Finally went somewhere else got the right prescription and switched back to my normal contacts! DR Jeff Gregg is NOT RECOMMENDED! read more

Great service for a great price! I saw Dr. Gregg in Feb. 2013, and really liked the whole experience. I was seen right away, and Dr. Gregg was kind, efficient and professional. Not only did he do a thorough examination but he took the time to answer all my questions and talk with me about the results. More like a boutique shop than what I've experienced at large places. I have reading glasses that i dont use, but with my new iphone, my eyesight seems to be getting worse. Turns out, I just need to use the glasses I have, so Dr. G saved me money. I liked his even-handed manner when he described my options for glasses. No "hard sells"! And I felt like he cared about my eye health. I'm glad I got a baseline digital imaging on my eyes and I'd recommend that service too. Nice! I'll go back again. read more
