Over the last few times I've been here there are never ANY carts available. They have to do better.

Horrible customer service and sketchy financial practices! I rented a 5x5 unit from Extra Space for $53/month. After 4 months I received a rate change notice that the price was going up to $86/month. A 62% price hike after just a few months! They had the same space listed online for $59/month or $71 if you rented in-store. I'm not sure why they'd charge a current customer more than a new customer. Clearly there's no market demanded price for these units, as they claimed in their rate change notice. Not to mention all the random $29 fee they charge you at move-in. They'd also told me at move-in the cost of my lock was refundable, but did an about face on that at move-out. They refused to answer an email and phone call asking about their rate change and to negotiate a better price so I moved to another facility a few blocks away that gave me a larger space and much lower rate than what I was paying originally ($53 vs. $37). read more

Danielle was absolutely phenomenal. She made part of this very stressful moving process extremely smooth, all while being personable, pleasant and helpful. In terms of my experience with Extra Space Storage at this location, it was easy. I initiated a reservation online then Danielle followed up with a phone call to facilitate the rest. Don't let them people lie to y'all on here. I've been a member since September and I have nothing but praise reports for this location. This time I worked with Dee. She notified me that my unit wasn't secured and handled everythingggg for me. She also submitted a rate decrease on my behalf so no need to complain about increases if you aren't ready they will work with you and I didn't even have to be extra. Car that did not belong to a customer/tenant in the storage space blocked the entire loading dock area for -T least 48 hours and counting. Could not load any items thru loading dock. Had to navigate around vehicle and carry items and additional 50 yds up a narrow ramp in order to access building. Assistant managers, district manager refused to have the car removed and 48 hours later, car is still there blocking the only loading dock of the area. Also had clearly a vagrant inside the building who was not a tenant either. When questioned the staff said "oh he is just charging his phone he is ok." Don't trust my possessions are completely safe and didn't like the unwillingness of the staff to get the car moved for "fear of damaging the vehicle and getting sued." Clearly that was more important that the safety and needs of their customers. I will be getting my stuff out asap!!! read more

This location is very convenient and easy to get in/out of, with plenty of secured parking. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. And I can come and go any time, whether or not the office is open. read more

Shannon was amazing! Personable and stellar customer service. The facility looks smells and is brand new! The security provides real peace of mind. Your items are safe here. I highly recommend! Update: Every six months or so the rate will increase. The initial fee is quite reasonable. If you can lock-in by prepaying I'd strongly recommend it. I've had the same unit for just over 2 yrs with an increase of $180 per month. Will be downsizing to a smaller unit in the near future. read more

The facility is amazing and safe. I love how management keeps the premises clean. I love that there is parking and I never have to scramble around for a place to unload. The dollies are always operable. The manager Danielle is very kind. The value for what we pay for our unit is worth it. Plus they have security cameras everywhere. Love it!!! read more

I came here after having a bad experience at the Public Storage on Bladensburg Rd. NE and the service was night and day. Shannon was absolutely amazing and made me WANT to spend my money and do business here! Additionally, the entire facility is immaculate! It's actually a gorgeous facility. The fun colors really make a huge difference. They also have covered parking that is gated for you to use while at the facility! There's also a couple of zip car spots with a Zip Van for quick and easy access to a moving style truck. Plus they have a first month free special and a discount if you reserve online. I had a decent experience with the storage itself, but when it came time to move out I was misled and ripped off. I was told repeatedly, 2-3 different times over the phone, that when I moved out the final month would be pro-rated. Just allow a few weeks process they said. I received nothing. Talked the manager a couple months later and she made excuses, said I was told wrong, wasn't in the system, claimed she would take my case up the chain to get a refund. It's been another couple months and I've heard nothing. After being a upstanding customer for over 2 years I feel cheated. They repeatedly lied to me and blamed their mistake on me. They will respond to this review with a nice message and to call in. I've already done that. It goes no where. read more

The overall facilities were nice. But the price feels like a bait and switch. Started reasonable and then kept increasing ver the time of my contract. Ultimately it went up almost $100. Crazy! So watch out! read more

Huge scam! They raised my rates without notice randomly from $65 a month to $103. It's disgusting that this company operates this way. After Incurring costs to move all my things into storage and budgeting for a specific monthly fee, they raise the rates after a few months. I hope they've invested in good legal counsel. read more

I am very disappointed in Extra Space Storage. I stored my items in a storage unit for approximately 7 months, and the storage facility is safe and clean. However, I've had numerous issues with being incorrectly charged. Had I known that this would happen, I never would have used this facility. I have wasted my time on numerous phone calls to fix the erroneous charges. As of today, I've had to contact Extra Space 4 times to reverse a single charge that I've been assured was removed. In addition, if you are planning to use a storage unit for more than a few months, read the terms and conditions of your agreement closely. Recently i have had my things put there for safe keeping. I had death in the family so i thought this would be a good place to store my family things until i had the courage to good-well there things. Every month i would go through the issue of not being charge than i would have late charges, almost even auction my family things off. They always say we don't have your card on file.
