While the staff were quite friendly and helpful, I experienced the same 'rent rate increase' that others complained about. In addition, my unit was on the 3rd floor and the roof leaked both incredible hunks of filth and rain. For $100 per month, one would at least expect not to have my things rained upon and covered with large hunks of filthy dust and dirt. Don't be enticed by the low initial rental rate and be very wary of renting any unit where you have things which could be damaged by water or dirt. read more

My husband has used this storage in the past and it was safe and convenient so we decided to use it again for a short period of time. We told the staff we only needed the storage for a little over a month and they said it would be no problem and that they would pro-rate the storage for us. Instead they charged us to an extra month and refused to do anything about it. We tried to talk to them in person and over the phone and ask for some clarification and why we were told everything would be fine but instead were charged. No one ever called me back. *1 star! read more

Last weekend I went to check out Extra Space Storage and Bob graciously showed me around at some different sized units. Just yesterday I went back in with my husband and Kacie helped us out. She showed us the 5X5 unit and was very helpful. She was extremely friendly and polite. Katie even got to know us a little bit. This facility is well managed with very knowledgeable employees that will assist you as needed. In particular, Kacie was very helpful. With respect to inside storage, some of the corner are difficult to negotiate when moving long items such as ladders. read more

Really nice facility with a very helpful Staff! More than comfortable to keep what I need here. Cameras are recording 24/7, the location for my unit at least was very easy to find and remember, and also more than one exit just in case there are a lot of people. Which is better than some other places that have only one exit. The prices are reasonable, and they do offer insurance for additional fees in case you have some more expensive items to store and want to protect. The actual quality of the units (based on my own) are nice. It is a slightly new location, so there is not as much wear or tear. Overall very happy and I recommend you go down and check it out. The staff has been very helpful, I'm sure they would be more than happy to answer any questions you need. read more

I got proper recommendation and every information they provided me in details regarding storage unit usage and access. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is coz of the nice facility. A convenient location for us since we just moved in an appt 2 blocks down. It's clean, and I like the way its secured. We didn't need to use the elevator so not sure where that was located. When we went into to inquire about space size, the lady who I think was the manager seemed extra friendly. She went over all the rules and regulations, hours of operation etc. Everything seemed fair to so we decided to rent a space. Believe it or not today was our 1st day storing our stuff and things just turned ugly. We were explained that when renting the truck, first 50miles was free, any extra mile will be charged, which we agreed to, fill the gas up to when we checked out the vehicle, must return in clean condition, and must be returned by 5pm or pay for any extra hours...totally acceptable no problem. So, I moved my stuff from Fremont to Santa Clara (to the facility on Scott Blvd) I pulled in right at 5pm and the manager on site comes out running as if i had ran someone over or the freakin place was on fire. She goes "what are you doing" so i replied "I'm going to unload my stuff" she says "you are way too late, the truck should've been at the Laurelwood facility by 5pm" Yes the agent did tell us the truck should be returned by 5pm or else pay $30 for any extra hour. As i was trying to explain to the manager what the other agent had told me she goes "if you were my tenant this would have been the end of it" END OF IT??? Lady I am your tenant that's why I'm unloading my stuff at Scott blvd location :) she wouldn't let me finish what I had to say and kept going this is not acceptable. Then she took me into the office and got on the phone with someone, and I don't have a clue what she was mumbling, all i heard was that "you have to pay $250 if you don't make it back to the Laurelwood facility by 6pm, the manager has to leave coz he has a family" WTF....by now my temper was running high, i asked her if i could talk to the person on the other line and she didn't let me, so i went back to the truck and got in through the gates and started unloading my belongings. I unloaded so fast and was done by 6:02pm. But while I was unloading and taking my stuff to the storage, my wife went and dealt with the manager. After telling them of how bad their customer service was, and how rude she was, and we are going to stop doing business with them...the manager finally states that "oh just put a note through the drop box stating that to only charge you for the extra hours" She could have told us that in the 1st place without giving us hard time and wasting the first 10mins of my time. She was really really rude. Right at that point i decided that I'll rather have my belongings stacked crowded in my small appt unit rather than having it stored at this facility so that i don't have to deal with her. I went over the truck rental agreement, and it clearely states that "the vehicle is due back within the first 24hrs of rental or otherwise requested to be delivered by specific time, if failed to return the vehicle by the time requested, late fees may apply" Today was our 1st day, and I'm planning to get my stuff out of there before the actual billing cycle starts. maybe move it to some other storage facility that has 24hr access. Now i have to see how much i get charged for the truck rental. And i will definitely take this up to owner/manager. I don't think i was at fault since i was well aware of all the charges including the late fees, unclean vehicle and gas usage. It is really a nice facility and $$ save....but the customer service at the Scott Blvd facility is just awful and disrespectful. read more

OMG, I just read all the previous posts and am cracking up at the self centered, lazy, outrageous remarks posted. This place is awesome and with anything or place in life you have rules to follow. I've stored for the last 2 years and have to say it is the cleanest, most secure facility I have used. Yes there are rate increases but if you approach the manager with concern they will negotiate rates for you. Its a business people. get over yourselves! The customer service is top notch! and whos fault is it if you are in a hurry and don't listen or don't read your contract? Ignorance is no excuse. I appreciate rules and managers who enforce them.....it keeps the riff raff out!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The storage facility itself is OK BUT they raise their rates each new contract. Not by $4-$5...more like $10-$12!! I'm in the process of looking for a new facility. read more

Just coming up on a month of using this storage spot. Kacie and David (the store managers) were reasonable, friendly, and helpful. Kacie showed me all of different storage units and answered all my questions. Today when I requested a short extension to the unit I had picked, they were willing to work with me and charge by the day. Overall good experience. read more
