Started with a decent rate. Then they upped the charge, then again. I called, they lowered the price, then a little bit later, it's increased again. Finally after paying $122 for way too long, I went and moved my stuff out. Then, I went to their website to see the prices for my size unit, 5X5. Guess what they're charging now?? Less than $100!! When you screw over your existing customers, you lose customers. I would have liked to keep the unit, but not at the $122 rate when any Joe Schmo can walk in off the street and pay almost half of what I'm paying for the same unit. Crazy bad way to do business. If the price of a 5x5 is X amount of dollars, then charge X amount of dollars, from everybody, all the time. The price for the unit, should be the price for the unit. It shouldn't change. How can my 5x5 unit be $122 for me, when they're not even showing a 5x5 unit on the website for $122???? Robbery, go elsewhere!! read more

Be careful!!! they will lure you in with a online promotion rate then after you move in 3 months later they will jack your rate up $50. Promo online was $49.99 with $21 insurance for a total of $71 a month. I was only there for 2 months and got a lett in mail that my new payment would be $120 a month. I moved out the same day. They will give a good rate to get you in then jack it up in hopes people will just stay and not have to deal with moving out again. These guys are scams!! read more

This is a bait and switch operation. I placed my car in storage there at a reasonable rate, then after a few months they doubled it. When I called to ask about that, they said the fine print I signed off on allows them to raise the rate whenever they want. When I left the car there I told them it would be for about 8 months, and they never mentioned anything about a rate increase. Disgusting! read more

I had a storage unit here for the past two years. The lot is clean and easily accessible off the freeway. There is a tall fence and security gate keeping it secure. The unit was clean and well lit. The manager Mark was great at both the start and end of my rental. read more

This is the cleanest storage facility I have ever been to. From the front office to the units to the restroom. The place looks brand new! What a refreshing experience to find a storage place that clean. Reservations were simple online. They called twice to confirm. There was a sale between my reservation and moving in that I didn't know about but they honored it. Who does that? Honesty is huge in my book. I highly recommend the Rohnert Park facility! read more

You will notice that I only do 5 star and positive reviews and that I take this process quite sincerely. My reviews on Google have been viewed over 30,000 time. It seems better to simply ignore companies that do poor work. However, in this case, I have to warn customers that Extra Space Storage is a place to avoid. We found out months into our contract that the climate control in the building was not working. During the very hot summer of 2018. Hundreds of customers were not alerted to this fact. And when we spoke to the front office they finally admitted to us that it had not been working and that they were going to get it fixed. We checked in with them a month later. Still not fixed. We finally talked to the manager (Brian?) who was very defensive. The woman who works the front desk- Pam -had the gall to accuse us of lying. When we requested compensation for having had our property and a non climate controlled environment while being charge for a climate controlled price they offered us $25. Which was a joke. What about the hundreds of customers whose property was damaged and jeopardized by this lack of integrity and this lack of transparency? Apparently Extra Space Storage doesn't operate with business values and ethics. Maybe corporate should take a look into the management practices in the Rohnert Park location. My partner was exhausted from work and did not have the energy to go and rent a truck and remove everything and find another storage facility. So we dealt with it. When it was time to move out she contacted the office to make arrangements. We are going to have movers and u haul pods. The manager was rude to her. Down right rude. Perhaps he doesn't respect women. Perhaps he shouldn't be managing a business and dealing with customers. Please find another place to store your property. These people are liars. They do not treat customers with respect. They don't treat women with respect. They do not have business values, and are not able or willing provide quality customer service. Extra Space Storage in Rohnert Park was THE best storage facility I have ever used. Clean, Clean and Clean! Toward the end of the lease I had some financial difficulty and it was really tough to make the monthly payment. I spoke to Mark and Denise at length regarding my situation and they were both so helpful! From the time I moved in until I moved out, Denise and Mark are a pleasure to work with. Very kind and caring and really enjoy their customers. It was a wonderful experience and if I ever have to use a storage facility again, no doubt in will be Extra Space Storage in Rohnert Park! Doesn't deserve one star. Visited at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 1 to see available units along with set up and unloading space. Door locked, knocked and about 30 seconds later a male employee unlocked the door while talking on phone. A female coworker sat behind a computer screen and didn't say a word to us. When the man ended his called, he asked if he could assist us. I said we wanted to view what space is available and layout. He said, "We are on our lunch break and you can go online to see all of our spaces and discription of sizes." I looked at the co-worker who said nothing and we said "Oh, ok." and promptly left. Two workers take a lunch break at the same time and usher potential customers out. No confidence in this management. If there is a problem, I can believe they would refer me to their website. Went down the street to Cube Smart, greeted by Leatha and her coworker and she escorted us to three different rental spaces. We ended up upgrading to a 10x20 climate controlled rental unit. Awful experience in this Self-Storage. The onsite manager AJ Lopez has 0 people skills, is very rude and he seems to be pissed off all the time. The worst part, I rented a second floor unit and.. behold... The elevator was broken!!!! What? This facility constantly raises rent. 3 changes in 1 year. It went from $189 to 228 for 10 by 15 Sq. Feet. They do not forewarn a customer.

I reserved a unit that was originally upstairs for $61 a mth. I called to confirm with Pam and asked if I could get a downstairs unit was then told it would be $65 and would hold my reservation for 7 days so that was fine. I show up and I'm told I have an upstairs unit reserved when I had it changed to downstairs. He then told me it would be more so it would be $70 I asked why the price kept changing he said it changes daily. They should've informed me that was the case. I told him I didn't know that and to cancel it and walked out. He should've honored the price I was quoted. Horrible customer service! For the record I have rented at this same location before from a different gentleman and the service was great that is not the case anymore. read more

We used this Rohnert Park storage facility for four years. It was owned by a different company when we started renting there and was a decent place. It was a little pricey but clean and the staff was pleasant. The company changed hands about a year after we got there and the prices started going up bi-annually. We started out paying 189.00 and by the time we left it had gone up to 360.00. They repainted all the doors at one point and did not tape the gaps properly, the over spray covered my husbands motorcycle. It took a year and a half to get the bike fixed, however they did finally get it done. The last 10 months we were there, several people started living in the units. There was a constant aroma of human waste. There was also an issue with bugs, that had never been an issue before. Beetles, moths, flys. I was very happy to leave this facility. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We were suckered into renting a space with a low move in price. Once you already have all your stuff stored they raise your rent. They don't even wait a year to raise your rates. Storage rates are raised every 9 months and the insurance that you are required to buy is raised as well every 9 months. I called in when we received the rent increase notice and was told this is extra spaces policy. We were forced to suck it up since the only alternative was to find another storage unit and move all the stuff we just stored. 1 year ago I went into my unit to get some sleeping bags only to find that rodents had been nesting in them because they had a rodent problem. The lady from the office came and took the sleeping bags and took pictures and said they knew which unit the mice were coming from . We were led to believe the issue would be addressed. Fast forward 1 year later not only is there rodent poop all over everything worse than it was when we reported the problem. As we are trying to vacate this rodent hell they locked us out of the unit. We have paid on time with auto pay for 2 years and only had that turned off when we were ready to move out of the unit. I tried to speak with Mark the office manager who said we had 10 days from the due date before we lose access (we are only 6 days in) only to find Mark is not in today and we are stuck with Jessica who is from another store and has absolutely no customer services skills and Janet who is brand new, knows nothing and is equally lacking in customer service skills. Jessica actually said she was refusing to help me after saying she was upset and telling me I have to wait until Mark is back which will not be today. The offered no resolution. We are moving out and do not wish to pay for another month of rodent infested storage. Bottom line stay away DO NOT FALL FOR THE LOW INTRODUCTORY PRICE THEY OFFER TO GET YOU IN. you will have less than a year before your price is raised and the a month or two later they will also raise the price of the insurance you are require to buy. read more
