The young men who did the moving were fabulous. They were extremely polite and well intentioned. They did everything well. They also listened if I had any concerns. They were efficient and fast but also calm and grounded. (great combo with the stress of moving). They finished far sooner than I expected, again efficient and consentaneous. I do not have expensive things or furniture, but they treated everything as if it was. I would feel very comfortable handing over my precious or expensive items to them. This was the worst moving company and experience we have ever dealt with. Write out the gate the communications were terrible and I should've known then and canceled. They got the date wrong, they got the time wrong, they got the address is wrong, and the quote of $4500 ended up being over $5500 with my restoration hardware furniture damaged and family canvas photos ruined. Thousands of dollars down the drain. Unpacking day, the movers arrived. 15 minutes early and unlocked my door to let my kitten out who was then lost and never found. Movers did not bring moving blankets, saran wrap, bubble wrap, boxes, nothing. We had to let them borrow our straps to strap down the furniture. Somehow we were charged for all of these moving supplies that the movers didn't even bring. Day two was delivery day and one truck showed up on time with damaged furniture and the other truck showed up four hours late yet the company tried to charge me for four guys the entire day. I text the owner Frank at start and stop time of the crew during the entire experience yet when the bill came my credit card was charged without my permission for over $1000 of hours that were not worked. When I brought this up with the owner. He gave me a $200 credit which is ridiculous in the scheme of $1000 overcharge and over $4000 worth of damaged furniture. Then he had the audacity to tell me that the furniture was not damaged by his company a month later as I was waiting for the Insurance from his company to contact me. Very unprofessional, unorganized, and I cannot believe these people conduct business in this manner for this price. DO NOT MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE! do not let a cheap "lure you in, because the Bill will be much more than the quote ever was, and they will charge without your permission and add on exorbitant hours. The response, to my review below is absolute lies. No one was helping anyone move. They damaged my items and then our claiming someone else did it absolutely wild. You'll take a bad review and bad customer service over doing the right thing? After losing my cat and damaging my furniture I just can't imagine how they feel justified. Isn't that what his insurance is for? But now they're telling me I can't use their insurance without going to court. What a scam. read more

The movers themselves were friendly and polite, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. They broke the glass in an antique cabinet, busted an antique chair, crushed several lampshades, and even managed to break our brand-new TV during the move. To make matters worse, they showed up with a truck that was clearly too small, overpacked it, and still had to come back for a second trip--something that added time, stress, and cost. On top of that, the final bill was almost $2,500 over the estimate we were originally given. When we filed a claim for the damages, we were told that the "coverage" only reimburses $0.60 per pound per item. That meant our antique chair--worth hundreds of dollars and costing over $250 to repair--would only be reimbursed at about $4.20. A brand-new television, completely ruined, was valued at just over $5.00 under this policy. It feels like a bait-and-switch: they lure you in with a reasonable estimate, then tack on charges until the price is nearly twice as much (over $1,200 for "packing materials"), and if anything gets damaged, the reimbursement is essentially worthless. Even though the movers were nice, the overall experience was costly, stressful, and deeply disappointing. There are numerous local moving companies to choose from; I suggest avoiding Sunny Movers at all costs. read more

The 2 movers were very nice men. But it took them 7.5 hours to move my 2 bedroom apartment. Granted, I did have a lot of boxes and stairs. At the end they had to use my car to load my 2 tvs, a lamp, etc. What I thought would take 5 hours max took 7+ hours. I think moving companies ought to come over to the resident before the move to see the size truck and how many movers make sense. I wasn't prepared for an all day move. read more

These guys are the definition of dishonest and hidden fees. The movers themselves were fine. But Frank Rivas was intentionally dishonest about the fee structure. And they didn't show me a bill or give me any indication of how much it would cost until the charge showed up on my credit card 50% higher than the estimate. They also lied about the start time (I have ring camera evidence to prove it). I will never use them again. read more

Beware of hidden costs they quoted me $455 for the job after I put in zip codes to and from and answered all The questions truthfully they where on there cell phones, moving extra slow, carrying 1 small item at a time I had to ask Then if they had a dolly and then they started using it.... a 4 hour job took 8 hours and I was charged$1,000 after receiving an estimate of $455 they added drive time which should have been included with the estimate I did give the distance I was way overcharged for a group of slow moving workers.... DO NOT USE This Company if you do make sure to ask about extra charges and make sure they have already calculated the drive time and also they said they charge $130/hr which was no where in the estimate???? read more

I was moving from a two-story 2 bedroom condo in San Rafael to the same situation in Novato. In all of my several previous moves, l had enlisted the help of friends (and family). I don't like moving and I'm sure my friends don't either, but they help me because they are great people. I was hoping to hire a mover to just move the big stuff so that I could save some money and do the rest on my own. Before choosing a mover, I read many reviews of the most highly rated movers in Marin County. It turns out if you hire a very highly rated mover, it's going to cost a lot of money. I had spoken with one mover who only charged $55/hour per person, but wanted to use 4 movers for the entire day. Eeek! I didn't have two grand for a move. I'm sure it wouldn't have been a flawless move, but I've got other bills to pay. I found Sunny because I was hoping that Petaluma might be cheaper. It's not, but I chose them because they were able to get a couple of guys out for a move within a couple of days. They showed up on a Saturday morning and were a half hour late, but they did call and let me know. I signed a short contract and then we discussed the details of the move: what's being moved and where does it go in the new place. Both guys were very hard working, so I decided to let them move as much of my stuff as possible. In the end, the move cost me more than I wanted to spend, but it saved me from several days of recovery from lifting all of my boxes. I chose to do my move per hour. I had two guys who were $70/hour. The 27 foot truck was included. They will charge you for the time it takes to drive to your place from Petaluma. Many movers (Sunny included) will give a fixed rate quote for a move. I chose the hourly option because I wasn't sure how much I wanted them to move. There was also a 3 hour mininum. I recommend this company for your next move. He was organized and responsive to my specific needs. I was given a one week and a 24 hour reminder of the move. On day day of the move, Antonio, Leo, and Juanito showed up promptly. Two stars simply because everyone was so nice. This was a total s***show and I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere. Here's the deal: 1) They sent two people to what easily should have been a 3-4 person job. 2) The two guys were not given a ramp to get down our single porch step, so they emptied an entire house and garage by CARRYING EACH BOX BY HAND. No hand truck. No dolly. The boxes were packed, stacked and labeled - ready to roll for anyone with a hand truck. While the guys were amazingly hard-working and nice, this was a ridiculously inefficient way to approach this job. 3) As you can imagine, doing the job this way took HOURS upon HOURS longer than estimated. When paying an hourly rate, you can imagine how frustrating this was. Dispatch sent in some reinforcements about 8 hours later but the damage had been done. 4) We had spent weeks neatly labeling and organizing each box by room and location. These labels were ignored and nearly all boxes were haphazardly placed in the family room or stacked in the garage. We spent the next few months discovering misplaced boxes EVERYWHERE. 5) They dropped and broke an antique bedframe. While they fixed it on their dime, it was the better part of a month before we got it back. After all of this, we paid for a moving company and they moved us. I can't believe we were still charged full price. While all of these guys were very nice, we still feel like we got taken for a ride. read more

The quote I was given was not even close to what I had to pay. It was twice that. A third man was added, without my knowledge, which cost me an extra $75.00/ hour. After they got to my house the third man sat in the truck while the other 2 unloaded into the garage. These men were lovely people who worked hard. I doubt they get paid enough for what they do. It was a Saturday and a 3 day weekend, but there was no extra charge for that-supposedly. When I asked for the receipt they said it would be emailed. I waited a week and had to ask the owner to send it. I also asked him why he doubled the price. He didn't answer that. I was happy with the men's work, but was left feeling taken advantage of. read more

Sunny movers helped with a move recently. Three guys arrived 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled start time/. 2 with smiles on their faces and one who looked like he was simply about his business. Apparently the 3 guys doing the moving were not aware of the size of the job as they were shocked when they saw how much they were going to move. They took it in stride however and got the job done. They worked quickly and were extremely careful not to bump or damage anything. There were a few large and delicate items moved and they really went the extra mile to ensure they were handled with care. They took a bit longer than quoted to complete the move which meant, I had to pay a bit more. But in all fairness, I did receive an approximate quote and the owner did tell me that it could take longer than the amount of time quoted over the phone. A couple of items were damaged in the move. I realized it later that day after the move was complete and the guys were gone. I contacted the owner who was very responsive, he apologized for the mishap and asked how much I wanted back for the damage. I received the check for the amount that I requested in the mail about 9 days later. All in all it was a good move and I was satisfied with the service. Could it have been better - yes, of course I would have preferred nothing was damaged, however in this case, I was happy that the owner owned it and took care of it quickly and fairly. I recommend Sunny Movers if you are moving and in need of good movers. read more

They were unable to move us with short notice but were kind enough to recommend Sunny Movers to us. And it was a GREAT recommendation. We had several stairs to move down and hired Sunny Movers with one truck and two guys. They were total workhorses. We were quoted at 5-6 hours with two guys with a possibility of it going a bit over. Well, they arrived at 11 and were done with the whole move by 330. They worked hard and never stopped except for a few water breaks. I used Sunny Movers once like 8 years ago and had a great experience then too! Best price in Sonoma County. I give two of the three guys high marks for their incredibly hard work. There always a slacker. They also get high marks for availability at a very busy moving time. Around Labor Day 2021 folks were leaving CA in droves. The guy who bid the job came to the house, took notes, then had me take him to our storage unit, took more notes, and then on moving day the truck wasn't big enough. I had to decide what not to take. This ended up costing me multiple weekends, 2 truck rentals, and unpaid time off work to finish the job. On the back end the guys were doing a great job putting things where I ask, until the money guy showed up and helped. Suddenly boxes were stacked no where near the rooms for which they were labeled.
