While they were the only people in the house, all my inherited and very expensive jewelry disappeared. I have since heard of a number of theft occurring when people used them come including somebody who lost $5000 in cash. They went into my private bedroom and bathroom and found my jewelry. The owner was dismissive and said it was my word against theirs. In addition, I was charged for three men for three hours, but I had said I only needed two men. I had to move contents of my storage unit in Santa Rosa to Kelseyville on 48h notice. A very friendly efficient person named Claudia got me all set up. Sunday morning two amazing movers came right on time. They were fast but also conscientious about how they packed our stuff. Then when we got to Kelseyville they did an excellent job packing our storage in such a way that we could get to the back of the unit without having to "move" a path. I didn't communicate (maybe underestimated) the amount of items that needed to be moved which resulted in a low quote. Rolando conveyed the importance of coming to our house and getting his experienced eyes on what needed to be moved. Thank goodness he did. Yes, it was a more expensive move than planned, but had we gone with another mover, it would have been much higher. He has the resources available to bring in extra guys, and vehicles as needed. And it was needed. His crew came in and packed up our place efficiently and with care. They even packed the last load of laundry that was left in the dryer! Our move was from one side of the state to the other, and they were at our door of the new place ready to unload at 7am the following morning. I did not have a great experience with Celis Movers. The final price was almost substantially more than the quote I was given. I did not go over the 4 hours and there was NO surprise in travel distance, traffic, or difficulty of move. It was a straight forward move from one apartment to another (less than 8 min apart). To make things worse, the movers refused to leave my new apartment once I took pause at the CONTACT they gave. It was hundreds of dollars over the quote. The movers could not explain in English what the EXTRA charges were for. I had to call the owner multiple times to TRY to get things straightened out. He hung up on me multiple times. Very unprofessional. I ended up paying via Zelle the amount just to get the 2 moving guys to leave my apartment . I felt very uncomfortable as a single mom with 2 teenage daughters. The guys REFUSED to leave my apartment unless I showed him on my phone that I payed in full. I would have disputed further if I didn't feel pressured and protective of my daughters. It felt THREATENING for men to refuse to leave a home with only 3 ladies inside. I will not use this company again!! They also failed to return my new white step stool I purchased for the move. It is only a $70 value, but still. On top of everything, I had to replace that in order to unpack things onto my shelves. Overall, I had an absolutely terrible experience with Celis Movers. Future customers (especially women) should be cautious when hiring this company and be prepared to pay WAY more than the quote Rolando (the owner) provides. read more

This moving company cannot be trusted. They pulled a bait and switch on both the moving and storage costs, more than doubling the price of moving and storage just days before our scheduled move when it was too late to find other movers. Originally, they quoted $1,110 for moving and $125 for a half month of storage of two beds, one love seat, two tables, and one dresser. Just days before the move, they claimed they made a mistake and were going to charge $2,900 for the move or they would need to cancel. What we were supposed to do? The move was due to a flood in our home and repairs were scheduled to start. We had no time to find another mover at that point. Then, they charged us storage for a whole month instead of half. Only after much bickering on the move back day did they give us a $50 "credit." What a joke. We ended up paying a whopping $3,100 to move and store literally 6-7 items for 10 days! I am always happy to pay a premium for quality services, but this was downright highway robbery and I'm very disappointed to find a local business taking advantage of clients like this. read more

They have moved my entire home's furnishings 3 times and most recently place 3 large area rugs that required moving heavy furniture. The entire operation from the initial consult, to the packing team, to moving day, to delivery was A CLASS ACT, 100% The Celis Movers Team members are Incredible! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS- DO NOT USE THEM NO MATTER WHAT THEY PROMISE YOU. THEY STOLE 3 LARGE SCREEN TVS FROM ME. THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE. Booked a one day move from a house I had used for AirBnB and was selling and didn't have time to for a garage sale of these items I was wanting to get rid of so I decided to them to a storage unit since it was such a good quite for the move of $2300. Without my permission they decided to wrap everything in thick blankets and almost every single item was wrapped excessively with multiple layers of bubble wrap and plastic even if it was something like a beanie baby Toward the end of the day the guy called to say that they were now going to take two days to do the move because it was taking so long and because I was not at the house and they were doing it with directions that I gave with pictures and a spreadsheet and tons of communication. Instead of just putting things in the truck and bringing it to the storage unit like directed unbeknownst to me and without my permission they were turning this move into a big payday for them. They said they needed a Second truck and it was gonna take a whole extra day and so a move that should've happened in one day resulting in just transporting non-valuable items to me to a storage unit for me to sell them these people how did this entire move to make more money and they charged 10K for it, more than 3 x what was quoted. Because they did so much of this extra wrapping by then needed to storage units and then could not see any of the items that I was trying to sell to people because everything was covered including soft cushy items that they still wrapped as if it was Waterford crystal. It's one thing to steal my money and it's another thing to steak my time. It has taken six months to unpack everything because even things like pens were wrapped excessively in bubble wrap and twice the amount of boxes were used because everything was so overpacked. Literally every single item inside boxes was excessively wrapped requiring me to move through this project literally unwrapping items for months while paying $1000 on two storage units to the tune of $6000. Instead of being able to see what I had in there and what I wanted to sell very easily the entire thing was a complete nightmare because of this guy so he stole money he stole my time and now that I am at the end of emptying the storage unit out it is clear that they stole several items including 3 super large screen TVs totaling 5K. Instead of 2300 and the chance to sort through these thing sand sell it all for a profit and move on with my life this guy cost me 20K plus over 500 hours of my time at a time I was going through a divorce and it was all being sold so I could move on. 300 blankets were used and charged and the blankets alone took me days of my life to even be able to move them out of the place because the blankets alone where piled up the size of one storage unit. I had to hire people to help me with the blankets alone to get them out of the place and that costs me more. I then had to sell the blankets in order to dispose of them. The whole thing was a scam. I am a highly educated doctor and I've had several moves done throughout my life and never once has anything ever occurred like this. It's very simple you put things in the truck you put things in boxes they don't require 300 blankets or packing material to bubble wrap around a plastic spatula. This is a joke. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN AND THEYN WILL DO IT TO YOU. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! I asked for a refund and was refused. This guy is a crook and Im filing a police report. A BAIT AND SWITCH TO UNSUSPECTING WOMEN IS A FORM OF ABUSE AND RAPE. THIS GUY SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL AND THE KEY THROWN AWAY. He could redeem himself and fix the situation but he's a sociopath that swoops in with a scam and hit's and runs. I will do all I can to put this guy out of business and in jail. See how he then sees a bad review and then writes that they are "glad they met my expectations." See how he tries to work the system. He owes me money and if he pays it Ill make an update that this guy can learn a lesson and become better. If not, I will pursue this issue to the fullest extent of the law. I am going take him to small claims court and I know Ill win a judgment. I have videos everything the whole time and have a pile of evidence against him. Rolando came over to give me an estimate . I had asked for a quote for packing and moving . His quote was on par with the other quotes i received . He said he would send a team over to pack the contents over 2 days and load one of the trucks the previous day . The team packed everything very well . One truck full of boxes were packed the previous day . The next day, they arrived at the time they had promised to and loaded and moved everything. 3 trucks full . I had heavy dressers, elliptical, massage chair etc. Also needed to drop off an exercise bike to a friend's house in the same neighborhood and they did that at no extra charge. They assembled all the furniture. Made sure that my bed and the massage chair was working . I had a different wire for the dryer and had to get a new one. They returned the next day to repair one small damage to the bedroom wall and to connect the dryer. Impeccable repair. Doesn't even look like there was a damage . Sacramento was the lead man for the moving and I have to say he was extremely helpful and was accommodating of all requests to move things around . The entire team was cheerful , wore masks the entire time and not one complaint or grumpy face/ attitude. Highly recommend this company. At every step in the process, Rolando was available to answer any questions and coordinate the move. There were more than 100 medium and small boxes and about 20+ wardrobe boxes . Be VERY careful if you even consider hiring this company. I wish I had read previous Yelp reviews before I hired them. As he had done to prior customers, Rolando pulled a bait and switch on me as well. When I first met him, I explained VERY CLEARLY to him that I was moving to Yolo County, 70 miles from Petaluma. Unable to find my next home at the time I met with him, I explained that I needed 3 bids: one to move my items out of my Petaluma home ($2,125) , another one to store my belongings for only a few months ($375 per month), and then a third bid to move my possessions from his storage unit to the home I would eventually buy in Yolo County ($1,500-$2,000). Once I had purchased the Yolo County home, I emailed Rolando to confirm a date for him to move my possessions. Imagine my surprise when he told me with NO explanation that my price (on the third bid) would be $3,440. (His original bid for this was $1,500-$2000.) Perhaps he was hoping I would not notice the price increase. Wrong. I emailed him immediately to inquire. He said he had made a mistake in his initial (third) bid to me and had computed charges for a move WITHIN Petaluma, even though I told him all along my move would be to Yolo County. At our initial meeting, he even asked to see a competitor's bid (which clearly indicated a move to Yolo County) as he wanted to beat that bid. Fortunately, I kept his initial written bid and refused to honor his $3,440 price. I paid $1500 (plus several months of storage fees) when he moved my possessions to Yolo County. My advice: beware, get and keep written estimates from Rolando, make it very clear to him where you are moving to, and expect him to try to pull a bait and switch. Or better yet, find a more reputable moving company. The workers themselves did a good job. read more
