I have had a unit here since 2016. the good: the managers are all round good people, nice, helpful, pleasant. Place is clean and secure. (hence the two stars) the bad: whoever actually owns it now (it's changed hands at least once in the last two years) are total scvmbags. so, my storage unit company, Storage Masters Self Storage (link below) -- where i've kept my extraneous family detritus for the last 14 years -- has changed owners TWICE in the last six months. on top of raising my rent 10%, they thought they could just declare that they are NO LONGER RESPONSIBLE for my items UNLESS i pay them an additionall $12 per month -- which i DECLINED. then they signed me up for it ANYWAY, because they are typical american scammers. so i RE-declined, then looked up what the coverage is. and it WON'T cover ANY items of ACTUAL value, like gold, jewelry, coins, etc. -- only the stuff that isn't really worth anything. so it's just an excuse to scam me out of an extra $144 a year. when i called them, the staff said, and i quote "We know NOTHING, you need to talk to our new owners." wouldn't it be nice if EVERY SERVICE ORGANIZATION we depend on WEREN'T trying to f**k us up the ass?? i guess that's just THE WAY THINGS ARE these days... sad. https://storagemastersr.com/ they USED to be a decent business. read more

Compared to the Extra Space unit I vacated in San Pablo the Storage Master Storage is a much cleaner, more professional and responsibly managed company. They seem to be head and shoulders that much better than Extra Space that allowed another tenant to rob my unit. Each unit has a sprinkler (for fire) and is individually alarmed. I used this storage to store all my belongings from my apartment for the last year. The owners are really friendly and helped me choose an appropriate size when I was in between two different ones. Loved the security of the site and how clean the units were. I had my clothes in storage bins, but all of my kitchenware, books, & shoes in boxes and everything was intact when I moved into my new apartment 1 year later. I had a unit that was inside with a few other units next to it and my storage was always super clean. Would definitely recommend Storage Master Self Storage! read more

Easily the most well kept grounds of any storage facility I have used. Been to a few between Santa Rosa and Napa only to find the last place was the best place. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and they even decorate the lobby for different holidays (one of my favorite details)! The driveways are spacious and the pavement is always smooth. It's a large facility and they paid good attention to giving their customers plenty of room to navigate the grounds. There was a light in both of my units (I had two 10x30 units) and it made it easy to get around when I was in the back looking for things. I spent a few years here until I had to move to east bay-it's the ONLY reason I left. I miss this place. read more

Worse place to rent from today I showed up about 5:20 early enough time to get inn but the power was out so I call customer service and there was nothing they could do they asked me to ask the women on the property for help after I tried to explain to her I need my tools for work tomorrow morning and it would be nice if she could open the walk in gate so I can just go get my tools she told me no and that she doesn't care and its not her problem and today is her off day I said it takes 5 seconds to open the walk inn gate and you would be helping a customer not lose there job she said no and they said I was yelling at her I was nice and respectful to her and this was the second time having a issue with her I have called customer service and requested a refund I want all my money back and want nothing to do with this place as it may have cost me my job the customer service over the phone told me they were very sorry and they don't understand why she would not help me I would not recommend using this place at all right now there are people stuck inside as we speak this completely ruined my day and possibly my job. read more

I went here today and was totally impressed. I have never needed a storage unit before but I have to say this is one of the best places in sonoma county. This is why, they have the best prices in town, they have alarms for each individual unit[that actually work he checked mine before he would rent it to me], they have sprinklers in every unit, plain and simple I feel comfortable leaving my possessions there. The owner was polite and extremely helpful as were his staff. I would recommend to check this storage facility before you even go to another one save youraelf some time. We started renting here a couple weeks ago...I called and asked if they still had any on special available and the nice lady on the phone said they did and a new rental they would like us there 30mins before they close to go over everything - which makes sense. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly woman, we told her what size we wanted and she informed us we would all go look at it first to make sure it is the right size. She drove us on a golf cart over to the storage unit, super fun, and explained all the policies and rule and where every thing is and the hours...very informative. The unit is smaller one inside on of the buildings, we got lucky with it being on ground floor. Plenty of space and easy access. Clean. There is loads of security here, cameras all over and you have to enter your codes to get in and to leave and each unit also has its own security/alarm system. You do need to buy your own padlock, but they sell them there for a good price...cheaper than walmart for the lowest priced one. I liked that they don't try to overcharge for the locks. There is also onsite managers that live above the office so you know someone is always around. My man and I are very happy with this place, not 24hr access but we don't need it so whatever, I would rather know my stuff is safe and not pay over $100/mo for a small unit. I highly recommend this facility. Also, you can pay your bill online, which is super convenient. Great informative staff. read more

Moved my offices and had to store some of the old furniture, file cabinets, etc. Found this place, again, through Yelp reviews (thanks again, Yelp!) I can't say enough good things about this place. They have on-site managers that actually live on the property and are very aware of who's coming and going. Added security measures include gates, locks, lots of cameras AND each unit is individually alarmed! When you come in (with your gate code) it disarms the alarm and when you leave with your gate code it arms it again. The place as a whole and the units themselves are all very clean and they'll even lend you a moving truck for your initial move- so long as it's available during the hours you need it. Location seems like it would be out of the way, but it's actually very easy to find. Plus, it's a very secure area- with lots of police around. I know it can be a pain to get a storage unit, move, etc. but if you have to, I highly recommend this place. read more

Getting storage sucks, it's like temporarily moving. I've had a few storage closets before and the experience was always up there with going to the dentist. That was the case until I found Storage Masters. They have great deals, the place is a really clean, well taken care of facility, lots of different options and price ranges, RV/boat storage and great security measures to keep your stuff safe. But the people are what set this place apart. Everyone I've dealt with was so friendly and professional. Finally the topper is that when you move in you get to use (if it's available) a huge moving truck complete with moving blankets, & two hand trucks! My family lives in Santa Rosa and whenever I go up to visit, I try to get out and organize my unit. Unfortunately, I was rushed and didn't lock my unit properly. Immediately, I panicked since I live in the LA area! Kristen eased my stress and made the process extremely easy to give a family member access to cut off the lock and replace it. This all happened within an hour! I TRULY appreciate that this location does lock checks on its units. Being so far away, I do often times worry about my unit being compromised, but after today I realized what such good hands my belongings are in there. I haven't had any issues at all and I've had my unit here for over two years. I HIGHLY recommend going with this company if you want trustworthy people guarding your storage unit. I started renting a unit here last week while my house is renovated over the next few months. I have never rented a storage unit before so maybe my complaint is based on being "unaware". The unit was advertised as 5'x15'. I measured the furniture to make sure it would all fit, rented the unit, and moved it in. After moving in a few items it was obvious that the unit was definitely not 5' wide and not everything fit. I returned a few days later with a tape measure and found it to be 4' wide plus a 4" gutter (which is near impossible to utilize when storing furniture). More just curious what the explanation would be I checked in at the office and asked why the unit was 20% smaller than advertised. A woman who seemed to have some level of authority came out of one of the back offices and pointed to a sign that said "Storage Unit Sizes Are Approximate." I explained that while I understand the units may vary a bit 20% smaller than advertised was a bit extreme. She explained that "the bank" requires them to advertise the space as 5'x15'. What does that even mean? Lessons learned: 1) If I ever rent a storage space again bring a measuring tape. 2) Be grateful this is only short term. 3) Do not recommend this facility to friends and family. Lack of compassion in their customer service was very disappointing. read more

I'm not sure why people love this place so much. I've had 2 units here and both were broken into. There are bums that hang outside there "units" that scope out what your putting into your unit. Not recommended for long term storage. Rates increase $5-$10/ month every year. I started out paying around $550/yr and now, 2 years later, it's up to over $800. I will be moving my storage to another location. When I first rented the unit, I was told that their rates do not increase every year but every 3 years. When I asked Kristin about this on the phone, she said it says in my contract that verbal agreements are not valid. No kidding. I read the contract. But I did not expect to be lied to regarding fee increases. They need to get their story straight if they want to be considered a reputable company read more

Needed an inoperable vehicle temporarily stored and, given the holiday and weekend, was desperate. Patty (Regional Manager with her husband Ted) showed me a couple of options and I found what I needed. When the tow truck arrived, there was no way to get the vehicle off the truck and into the container. Patty and Ted made an exception and let me store anyway since it is only temporary and I was desperate. They were easy to work with, really nice, and helped out in a pinch. I couldn't say enough about this place other than if you need a storage facility (which are often suspect) securely with people you can trust, this is the place to go! read more

This place has been nothing but a challenge for us since the new management. We used this facility for our business mail. Unfortunately they are not technically a part of the mail service so you can not get mail forwarded through a change of address through the USPS. So beware if you us the PMB service you will not get mail forwarded once you leave. I finally got them to agree to forward our mail like they are legally required to do but all the mail just gets sent back to the sender and not to us. read more

My wife and I just recently moved a forty foot cargo container from Juneau, Alaska to Santa Rosa, California.. I had spent the previous week looking for storage space from Cloverdale all the way down to Santa Rosa with no luck. After a week of searching for a location to store my household furnishings Ted was the only individual to step forward and try to help me out. The forty foot container proved to be problematic due to its overall length (53 feet).
