I have nothing but good things to say about the service I received at the 900 Transport Way in Petaluma location. My problem is with the contract. What you need to know is you will pay for a whole month no matter what day you move out. I moved out a day after I paid for the month and I was not refunded the difference. This is a terrible policy, and if they had made it more clear I of course would have been more careful about it. I moved from one space to another at the beginning of my contract and I was refunded the difference on a pro-rated basis then, so I assumed it would be the same when I moved out. And really it needs to be for a service like this. Everything else about the process was so convenient. Access to the space whenever. Start and move your stuff into a space whenever. This makes sense because people need to move their stuff around in all types of circumstances and for all different kinds of reasons, at all different times of the month. I had to close my business during the pandemic, so having lost a lot of income I shopped around carefully to compare rates. It all went out the window when I had pay $200 extra for 9-months *plus one day*. I called customer service and they told me to talk to the manager. She didn't return my calls so I went in in person. She said no so I wrote to customer service. They told me "we're not going to refund you it's in the contract." So here I am to say: BUYER BEWARE read more

THIS COMPANY WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY SATURDAY. I signed up and paid online and got a text on my move in day with my storage unit number, gate access code, and that there was a lock waiting for me inside the storage unit. I brought an entire truck load to move in, moved everything in and then the door lock was dented so the lock DID NOT FIT. I went to the office to let them know and the doors were locked and no one was on staff even though it was 1pm and office hours are 9:30 to 5pm. Calling the number only tells you to download the app to "chat with an associate" or leave a voicemail. I downloaded the app and there is no chat option but gives you the same number to call that tells you to download the app or leave a voicemail. I HAD TO PACK EVERYTHING BACK INTO MY TRUCK BECAUSE I WASNT GOING TO LEAVE IT UNLOCKED read more

Horrible service, I called 24 hrs in advance to make sure my reservation would be ready, one of employees told me it would... when I arrived, I literally had to wait a hr before they found my U-box container. I can't forget to add this has happened to me multiple times at this location. read more

Thief's!!!!! I had my unit robbed while the company lock was on the unit. The tag was cut off and company lock was. The sheriff's came out and took a report. Someone had the key and stole 10K worth of grow equipment. The company managers don't really care and are not handling it with any kindness. This company prays on its customers. We had an excellent experience obtaining our storage unit at this location, with the friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable Darcy. The unit was clean as can be, and Darcy guided us through the entire process, including special offers, unit sizes, contracting, auto-payment, password, lock, supplies. Nothing quite like finding a friendly person -- it sets Public Storage a step above all of the marketplace competitors. The Public Storage website, too, stands out, particularly contrasting with others in the area who don't even know and can't deliver what their websites say. read more

This deserves a 'negative rating!' We took advantage of the Online Offer and we were presented the option of holding the unit and rate for seven days. Not two, not five, not six hours....seven days. When we visited the location on the same day, we were given an extremely hard sell by the manager and were told that we had until 5:00 TODAY or lose the hold which actually would equate to a six hour hold. There are numerous options for storage and excellent customer service was NOT provided top us at all. Bait and switch/false advertising. Website showed 5x5 units for $57 a month, $1 first month. Made a reservation which was confirmed via email. An agent then called to tell me this location didn't have those size units available, and that the other location did but that they were $20-30 more a month. Agent claimed this was a known problem that Public Storage has been informed of. Claimed they could not honor the price as no one at either location has any control over the pricing. Asked if I could call the corporate number and get them to honor it, was told they don't set the prices either. read more

None were offered under the sale price but I didn't mind as long as there was a good safe place for our stuff. Seems like a fair, above board place. I didn't realize there was even a Public Storage on Santa Rosa Ave and I live on Santa Rosa Ave so I was thrilled to know there was a second location so I could be even closer to my stuff when if I move. Jennifer and Darcy were there when I came in and they were both wonderful. My friend rents from there so I was checking it out. Place was clean, ladies were nice. With so many of these Public Storges and others around I would choose another where the on-site staff person was not so rude. Darcy was super helpful on the phone, but when i arrived it was Diane I was dealing with. She was sarcastic, rude and not in the least bit helpful. She had a real attitude about everything, the lock, the contract, the payment.The service provider is supposed to provide service with a smile not make you feel like you are breaking the rules by asking a question. She was not going to exert herself in any way to help. I had to ask quesitons as she did not offer any information and when I did ask, either she didnt know the answer or was so vague as if she wanted me to figure it out instead of her having to exert herself to answer me. Find another facility. Public Storage...find another staff person. Diane is bad for your business...lacks customer service skills. read more
