**I increased the stars because after writing my review, they made good on their word. My initital review was truthful so I've kept it below with a few edits (names, details) We moved 2 months ago from Sonoma to Oakmont. The movers packed everything well using blankets and wraps so at the end of the truck load up, we asked them to go ahead and take two stand up lamps we were planning on taking ourselves. Instead of packing them nicely, they basically threw them in the back of the truck with barely a blanket. Sure enough, they managed to break the turn keys on BOTH lamps to switch them on and off. After taking pictures & submitting my claim form, they said they had to come and inspect the lamps. I said fine, a nice man came. He said the key for the antique lamp could be replaced. It would only take a couple days and he would order 2 sizes to be sure one fit (they were a couple bucks apiece). Excellent! That only left the other lamp which could not be repaired because it was broken in 2 places. After being told I would get 60 cents a pound because I didn't purchase the "Additional Insurance" beyond what was included with the move, the claims person was finally agreeable to $150. After multiple follow up calls, emails where I was assured a check and the keys were coming, and still nothing for weeks! I finally decided to review them because I've played nice for 2 months now for a stupid key and $150. read more

They make moving fun! Well, not really, but the guys who moved our stuff 200 mi. (Sean and Steve) were true saints. We weren't ready and didn't have everything packed when they showed up, but they patiently helped us along. They were careful with all our belongings, and made funny jokes while we were stressing about the move. Anything we asked of them, they accomplished. Great guys! This summer on June 14, 2022 began my moving journey from Santa Rosa, CA to Dallas, TX. Sandi was the estimator/contact person in the Santa Rosa office. She was professional, thorough and I knew I was in good hands. The packing/loading team was JOSH L., VINNIE and KENNY. They were amazing!! THANK YOU GUYS!! The delivery estimate was 3 weeks, but the next team was there in 1 1/2 weeks, and the final bill came in at $3,000 under the estimate!! The delivery team was RUBEN, ANGEL and TONY. Thank you guys!! Schultz/Bekins is pricey but it was totally worth it. I know of people who have been scammed and their belongings damaged or never delivered just to save a few thousand dollars; however, I had great peace of mind, I received everything well and intact, and they were early and they took great care of my items. From the first phone call to the in person quote, the loading, transportation, unloading- every thing was absolutely incredible. We moved from Santa Rosa CA to Cincinnati Ohio on 9/23/22. (2400miles) We chose Bekins because they had the best quote for what we wanted and it took only 7 days for us to get our things! Our truck left 9/23 and was delivered 10/1. Everyone else told me it would be 8-10 business days.... we were not disappointed. They took all the stress out of moving. They were upfront about everything. The loading/unloading crews were amazing. Our driver was the best. He kept in contact with us the whole time. The corporate office called me before he showed up in CA, after our truck left, the day before he arrived in Ohio and the day after they unloaded into our new house to make sure everything was going as planned. And The girls in the Santa Rosa office were so kind. They answered every single one of my 97 questions without being annoyed. I had NO damages to any items. I honestly couldn't even believe the care they took on the smallest least fragile items. (I packed my own boxes, but they wrapped our furniture and beds and appliances, and misc items and loaded and unloaded for us), If you're even considering moving, in town, out of town or cross country- I would 100% use them again. I was beyond stressed to move across country and hiring Bekins was the best choice I made. I will never use another company it was worth every Penny. I called and requested a quote. After they confirmed my moving date was available they let me know when they could come to my home and give me a quote for moving. I took off work early to be there for that appointment. 5 minutes AFTER she was supposed to arrive she called me and told me she no longer knew the date I wanted to move...... I told her again and she laughed and said they were already booked and she wasn't coming. Hey thanks for being bad at your job and wasting my time. A truly terrible experience on a cross country move. The estimator lied by omission, not telling us that drivers were scarce. All our household goods were stored at Schultz's warehouse for weeks before they were able to find a driver. They were delivered to our new home more than two weeks after the last date of the ten day window they promised us. We had to stay in a hotel and eat in restaurants for the whole period, for which we were reimbursed a miserly $1500. During the wait both Schultz Bros and Bekins national were erratic in keeping us informed of the situation. When our goods finally arrived the driver did not have enough helpers and it took him from 9 in the morning until 1 in the morning (16 hours) . Extensive damage was done to newly finished floors and newly painted walls, and numerous piece of furniture had parts broken off. They also lost a number of items. Since the inventory process was totally confused on both ends, Benkins claims that both were delivered and refused to pay for them. They did reimburse us for the broken items (it's hard to argue with photographs). This is the kind of crappy move you would expect from a local fly-by-night, not a major national firm charging top dollar. You have to jump through WAY to many hoops to get a quote and they are rude and nosy , something fishy going on there . I dont trust them to move me! They wanted to know how many square ft my new place would be , and if its an apartment or a house , i even started off by saying that its 120 miles one way . They didnt ask me what size truck I'd need , they didnt ask how much stuff i have , they wanted to know where the new place is and how big the new place is . And now i see that the manager is trying to argue over yelp and in the comments as if this is facebook lol this place is a joke . I wouldn't trust them read more

Would definitely use these guys again. They showed up and immediately jumped into a walk-through and made sure our expectations were aligned with theirs. They were very professional and very careful with our belongings, and they knew exactly what to do and never rested. They padded and boxed our flat-screen tvs, provided wardrobe boxes which made moving our hanging clothes very quick to move, provided wrapping paper for any extra fragile items we had, attached protective blankets to the walls of all narrow walkways, and assisted with the tear down of bed frames and then construction once we arrived at the new house. They were also a fun group of guys that were cool to chat with and quite easy going. This helped greatly reduce the stress of moving because any issues that presented themselves were not presented as a big deal (we didn't realize how important this would be). read more

Everything was secured in place. They worked fast, and professionally. Feb 11th 2021 turned out not to be an easy, simple move due to blizzard conditions, ice, snow and road closures. Gordon Easter is an amazing driver and person. Excellent attitude and he loves his job. Great to see. He kept us updated the entire time throughout the days as to the conditions and situation. We recently completed a move from the Los Angeles area up to Sonoma County. I just can't put into words how thoroughly amazing the team at Schultz Bothers made our move. From Sandi in the office who went above and beyond to make it all work seamlessly...oh yes, we had to change dates for pick up, then we had to complicate the delivery as our new place wasn't quite ready. I chose Bekins for my small office move thinking they would have professional movers and would care for my custom made furniture. I was so wrong. First of all the movers got into a fight with each other and one of them walked off the job. This resulted in the move taking hours longer due to only 2 people instead of the three I was charged for. They all complained about the employer paying them low wages and not treating them well. I had multiple things have damage. They didnt even wrap things, just through them all in a large box. They came out and surveyed the damage and told us a repair person would come out. Well its been 6 months and repeated phone calls and nothing. You are better off choosing anybody but this bunch of coconuts! read more

These guys were great! We would definitely use them again. Vidal and Brian showed up right when they said they would (Vidal even called me to update me on where they were). They packed what little we had left to pack because my boyfriend did most of it in advance. They even got our giant couch out the front door! I was extremely pleased with the service and handling of my personal furniture and items by Schultz Bros/Bekins Moving and Storage!! Their pricing was very competitive especially for my out of state move this past Summer. Sandi Monroe was my Bekins agent and she was well informed and knowledgeable about moving household goods. One of their drivers - Gordon Easter was excellent! He has been moving clients for over 40 years and he and his crew of movers had my house loaded and on the road within 4 hours. This after they had to pack my kitchen, clothing and personal items, plus the furniture. I was short on estimated boxes. Sandi and another Bekins representative came to my house twice for extra packing boxes and my residence was more than 30 miles away from their Santa Rosa location. They took the worry and anxiety out of my move. I had to "beat feet" to my new state within 2 days on a commercial flight to meet Gordon at my new residence for unloading and, of course, he was driving the Bekins 18 wheeler semi!! He told me he made the 650 mile trip in 1 1/2 days. The man can definitely make time!! Rachel Shadburne was also super! She called me the following day before I left California to inquire if the day before move was completed to my satisfaction. I replied it could have not been better thanks to her experienced moving team!! I had them move furniture in June for hardwood floors. Move took two hours. At 10:00 in the morning they took a 15 minute break to come back and finish for 15 minutes. I was charged for the break. They also over charged me for travel time and promised to send a refund check a still have not received one. It is the end of July and has been 7 weeks since the move. Worst move in 55 years of moving!! Four cross country moves and this was absolutely a nightmare! Everyone was extremely polite and reassuring that all would go well until I signed the contract and they got my money. The truck they planned for my shipment cross country suddenly was overloaded at a previous pick up point and my shipment was put in storage!!! Delaying the cross country move. One employee in the office was understanding and helpful. All the others were rude and snippy. My shipment arrived. Several things were damaged, but it was simpler for me to have them repaired with out filing a claim. All the boxes were covered with black dirt. The blankets were filthy and shedding hemp all over the house. There is more but I want to try to forget it!!! read more
