    Aftermath of extra space negligence.

    Called back and was forwarded to the local store and of course nobody answered. Still no word from management a week after getting my unit broken into ransacked and robbed. Nobody is taking initiative, ownership nor responsibility. If zero stars were available that's what they would get.

    Trash piled up behind the car that was parked there at 6:01am. They aren't checking to be sure people aren't living there.

    We have had a storage unit here for about 4 years, it's almost doubled in price. We just moved out and there was rat poop all over our stuff, a cabinet was stepped on from above from before they put cages over the top. There were homeless people living in the hallway one aisle away from where I was there alone organizing our unit for move out. I alerted the manager and the very next day they were still there. Would not recommend.

    Broke through the top

    If I could leave this place with 0 stars I would. Started renting in May and already noticed people living on site with worn down vehicles and every time I came tweakers had access to inside the storage facility and were using the restrooms. I came to check on my unit in early January and found out my keys did not work. Come to find that the cylinder lock had been swapped. How did this happen? We had the lock removed and found out my items had been stolen. Some of the items were serialized and I located them in a nearby pawnshop and had been sold already. I got the dates of when the items were sold to be late September and early October at 2 different times. The last time I checked my unit was early September. So a couple weeks later the thieves broke through the top of my unit and disassembled the cylinder lock from the inside and went to the front of the store and bought another cylinder lock and replaced it with theirs. I have pawn shop receipts with dates of when my items were sold. What's interesting is the thieves did not touch the neighboring unit even though they pulled it back. Only hit my unit even though they had months of access without anyone knowing. I had been paying storage space rent for October-December and no one noticed/or did the proper checks to see if units had been burglarized. To top it off when I found out my unit was burglarized I had seen 5 other police reports on their front desk of burglarized units. It's very clear they never intended on telling anyone these things were happening over the last couple of weeks and months, not even a courtesy call to come check your items to make sure they are safe. I wanted a refund for the months of October-December because I could prove my items had been stolen since September. I wasn't asking them to pay for my stolen items as I had insurance. I just wanted to be refunded on 3 months I paid for basically nothing. They told me it can't be done. So if I had kept paying their space rent and didn't check my unit I would have been paying for months and months of rent even though my items had been already stolen under their watch. They've swapped managers and employees multiple times since I've started renting here and they do not care about people's personal belongings. Do not rent here at all. If burglaries are happen you will not be informed as they believe they don't have to inform anyone. No one is on sight after hours and they don't have people reviewing footage of recordings. This is not a safe place. One of the worst experiences I've had with customer service as well as their "district manager"

I was greeted by Tina Louise who said Hi my name is Tina and yours is? I said; "Tina". Tina says No no no... let's try this again. Hi my name is Tina and yours is" I said; "Tina". It was hilarious. When you are named Tina it's surprising to meet another Tina. We hit it off from there. She showed me the units she had available. I rented 3. When moving my things over there I had underestimated how much room I needed and was able to get another unit without a problem. The grounds keeper helped me one night as it was getting dark I didn't realize there was a bulb out overhead. He came up and changed the bulb and showed me how to work the timer so I was able to get a few more things done. Everyone has treated me with respect. I recommend renting here.

    RENTER BEWARE!! We rented multiple units from this location, one outside and four inside the…read more"climate controlled" area. We had the units for two years and we were happy until the latter end of our stay and upon moving out. There were 2 units that we would open and access our items on occasion. The ground floor "climate controlled" unit was adjacent to the company's storage area. We began to notice moths flying around in that unit due to the open area that it shared with the company's storage area. Upon moving out, we discovered a moth infestation that was annoying to say the least. More importantly, the other units that we did not access during the time our items were stored there, 2 out of the 3 were very disappointing. The movers brought to my attention that the outside unit had water intrusion at some point, and you could see the dried water level on our boxes, some furniture, and the wall of this end unit. We had to discard boxes of clothing and furniture that had evidence of mold from the water intrusion. Next, our other ground floor "climate controlled" unit, had a condensation issue that was evident when items were removed. Thankfully, we had placed a tarp down towards the back of the unit where our couches were stored. This was brought to the attention of the woman working the front desk that day. She saw the units and took pictures. We purchased the insurance through the storage company, however we were dismayed to learn that the policy does not cover water damage!! This makes nooooo sense at all! When we were moving our last items from storage, the ceiling in the hallway began to leak a constant stream of water. I took pictures and and a video, and share it with the person at the front desk and via email. They basically said we will look into it, but refused to take responsibility for the water damage in 2 of our units, even after evident that they have a water leak issue. We will NEVER rent from this company again. Most importantly, buy a policy from a reputable company, NOT the company that they recommend. Also, for this facility I would use their term "climate controlled" very loosely. Sometimes we would be there and the A/C units were off, and it was warm in the building. I brought that to their attention as well to no avail. Please use another company if you value the items that you are storing there!

    1 Star I had a terrible experience trying to rent a unit at…read moreSecurCare Self Storage. I first went to the location on Service Ct, but the gate and door were locked. I couldn't even get inside to speak with anyone. No signs, no help--just locked up. So I drove to the Columbia location, hoping for better luck. Unfortunately, it was just as bad. I was told the staff couldn't assist me because they were on a Zoom call for a "district meeting." They flat-out said she wouldn't help any new customers until the meeting ended--maybe around 12:30. It was around 11:50 or so. Frustrated, I drove to the Main Street location and finally got the help I needed. Angel was awesome--welcoming, informative, and professional. Funny enough, he mentioned he was on the same Zoom meeting but still managed to assist me without issue. Thank you, Angel, for doing your job and treating me like a customer that matters. But to the other locations--locking out potential customers and refusing service because of a meeting? Unacceptable.

I just wanted to clean I'm disabled cleaning for me takes time. 2 hours or weeks or months. Now I have to wait to clean, check mice damage, take pictures send to insurance. I was just fine cleaning until now said I had to leave otherwise he would report me for squatting.
