As a company: The property actually got nicer over the past three years. No crime, no complications with bill payments and prompt notification of changes. Employees: As we closed the unit we worked with Jen, who maybe the manager from the way she conducted herself. She personally related inside of her customer service and offered solutions to remote account closing. She protected our information and property and provided prompt communication. First day to the facility! Easily drove in and found my unit! The issues began trying to leave the facility! My access code would not work, I was knocking on the resident door, and no answer , called left a couple VM no call back, was there for about 25 minutes trying to get out then the person who resides there came out visibly upset that I didn't know I'm suppose to walk out of the facility and input the code and run back to my vehicle and leave before the gate closed, when I did what she asked I guess I didn't run fast enough and the gate closed before I could pull out! Then she came out visibly upset again saying NOW YOURE SUPPOSE TO INPUT YOUR ACCESS CODE ON THE KEYPAD INSIDE! Like I'm suppose to know all that! I felt like asking am I suppose to clap twice also!! Awful customer service! What she should of done is come out and apologize and say we have some technical issues and we are working resolving them. But No! I got attitude! read more

We rented a 10x20 here last year for $187. Today I got a email notice of yet ANOTHER price increase to $260 (the second increase in a matter of a few months) yet they're still advertising their rate for a 10x20 at $187. To be honest the place is a dump. It's dirty inside like it's never been cleaned and there's little if any maintenance for instance the sliding door is rusty and bent slightly out of shape to the point it makes it a challenge to open OR close it. And last year during the heavy rains the building leaked from the roof and under the walls, soaking many of out things. read more

So plan on spending an extra $11 - $13 per month for a policy with minimal coverage. ************************************** This is a follow up for this business (PS) 40 days from start. I originally choose this facility because of the location and because I was too busy to shop around. After receiving a text message from corporate with my upgrade reservation for a larger unit that was on sale, I was unhappy with the higher price than quoted. Knowing how greedy large corporations are, I decided to do some research, finally! It didn't take long to find a dramatically cheaper unit that was the same size as my sale priced reservation at PS. this facility in Riverside is StorQuest Self Storage. The customer service was excellent, professional and helpful. Laura B. was the employee to close out my unit and was super nice and professional as usual. PS should take care of here before the competition snags her away! ALSO, buy your lock from Home Depot, it is about $10 as apposed to the $24 price charged at PS for the same exact lock. There is a reason Public Storage had a net income of $1.46 billion in 2016. Do your research first! read more

Public storage absolutely incredible. I'm coming from CubeSmart I went to pick up my stuff yesterday at my CubeSmart, there was trash everywhere at CubeSmart there were open storages scary looking cats with half their faces bitten off trash everywhere homeless people surrounding the entire facility they were some even walking inside. I drove back to public storage to drop off half of my stuff I got a 5x10 and I realized how peaceful and quiet and clean and neat and organized and how amazing the ability to access my gate through my phone with the push of a button on their app was and this is what higher class customer service feels like I just regret that I didn't do it any sooner this place is absolutely amazing the people that the office were awesome they explained everything they called me within a few minutes of placing my original reservation unbelievably perfect excellent customer service hopefully I can find another one soon because I know it's limited availability but incredible incredible amazing experience good job public storage. read more

I would NEVER recommend Public Storage to anyone. If you decide to use them, plan on a BIG rate hike once you've been there 6 months! They raised our monthly rent more than 25%. Nope, not paying it! Just moved out! I also wouldn't pay their "required" insurance. If you have homeowners or renters insurance, that will cover you! Don't fall for the lies they tell you when they insist you pay an extra $11 - $13 per month. Run... run far, far away from this place! There are so many other HONEST storage facilities in town! Terrible business- run the other way. I personally was moving out of my unit, and inadvertently forgot the key to the inside lock, which I own. They would not cut the lock off for me.I was going to cut my own lock off and was told by them that if I cut my own lock off with a lock cutter, it was considered burglary. Completely ridiculous. They were extremely rude to my small children at the front desk - probably because I was moving out of the unit and they didn't like that. Don't use this facility. read more

PART ONE : Unfortunately I had to give them one star in order for me to leave a review like I said unfortunately. I had used this storage facility 3 previous times. I rented the 1st unit for 4 yrs. and was very pleased. So of course years later when I needed to rent a storage unit again, I didn't give it a second thought. It wasn't about getting a better deal. I came back to THIS facility because I was completely satisfied. Not once, not twice, but all 3 times. Less than a year ago I rented a unit from them again. My unit was upstairs, around the corner, down the hall, the unit w/ insurance was $47 a mo. (No problem). A few months later I get a notice of a rent increase to $57 a mo. I wasn't happy but I stayed, even though the lights inside the building on 3 different occasions would NOT come on. (Almost pitch black inside) and then the elevator didn't work for at least 4 days in a row. But then I recieved another rent increase notice! To $67 a month (as of Aug. 1st). I don't think so. After a long 6 hour drive from Modesto to Riverside for relocation, and being turned down from 4 storage facilities due to lack of storage units, inadequate size facilities or just outrageous prices....in the blazing hot sun might I add lol my patience was wearing thin. I came across public storage and decided to inquire hoping I would become successful in my quest. Not only did they have an appropriate size unit for my belongings, were open on a Sunday also but there was a move in special for 50% off the first month!!! You can imagine my relief . Krystal was such a great positive spirit to encounter on such a stressful day. Very kind and polite. Had such good conversation with her and she provided excellent customer service!!! Explained everything to me thoroughly and again was just a bright ray of sunshine. I recommend this location to anyone who wants the best service and want to actually deal with a person who, from what I experienced, genuinely cared about their customers instead of just looking at you as a $!!! My experience here has been Great! Lori is amazingly helpful and for 2 + years has provided me with excellent service.

I don't have anything good to say about this place. We have rented a unit there for 2 years, as we have moved temporarily out of the country and so put our household items in storage. We use our bank's automatic payment to pay for the unit. Because we're out of the country, our mail service is not reliable. Public Storage raised our rent, and we didn't get the notice in time to adjust our automatic payment. As a result, our payment was short by $4.00 one month. The following month we noticed that we'd been assessed a $20.00 late fee because of the $4.00 shortage in the payment. We felt that a $20 fee for a $4.00 shortage was unreasonable, and tried to contact them multiple times by phone, at international phone rates, to discuss; we were told that we had to call another number. We left multiple voice messages explaining the situation. We emailed them but got no reply. Months later we received a notice that if our "late fees" were not paid within 5 days, the contents of our unit would be sold. Because we lived out of the country, we received the notice several days late; it was a Friday, and the date on which our fees needed to be paid was the following Sunday. It was at this time that we discovered that WE HAD BEEN ASSESSED AN ADDITIONAL $20 LATE FEE EACH MONTH SINCE THE ORIGINAL $4.00 shortage. We ended up having to pay over $200 in late fees, and an additional $20 "service charge" to have the payment charged to our credit card. Needless to say, we can't get our items out of this place fast enough. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more
