EDIT: Emily, the number you gave me just goes to my local facility. They would not help me previously and they will not return my calls. THEFT/BREAK-IN My storage space was broken into earlier this year. Items were stolen. Other storage spaces near me were also pried open. Even though there were locks on the doors, the metal doors are soft enough that someone could use a crowbar to pry it open and get in. When I asked them what they could do about it, she said if I wanted, I could move to a different unit. But there's nothing any safer about the other units. I was also told that I needed to file a police report in order to file a claim no for the insurance, but actually no police claim was required. FIRE 2 weeks ago there was a fire at the storage facility. I received an email saying there was no access until further notice. I called right away to find out if my unit was affected, and they said It was not. I have been waiting for the past 2 weeks for the space to be open again. I finally received an email today saying that there was now access to the facility. I called to find out if next month would be pro-rated since I wasn't able to access my space for 2 weeks. They said "no", because there had been access, they just didn't bother to email customers to let them know. They said I should have known that it was open. I'm beyond frustrated with them read more

I opened a storage here 4 months ago, the assistant was happy to tell me my price would be 195 per month with insurance an extra 25 so 220 all together. I went to pay my bill not even a full 4 months later and they raised my rent to 322. No notice, no letter, no email. I called and spoke with someone they told me to call back in 30 minutes. After that they stopped answering completely after 25 missed calls. I then proceeded to go in person and see what the problem was. They said according to my contract, my unit could raise up to 276 just this year. So I could possibly be paying 526 per month, which is outrageous. This is Moe then a 50% increase, which by law requires 90 days with such increasement. I asked to speak to the manger, and "Isaac" I believe is his name caught a complete attitude. Got an attitude, even got smart with me.Extremely unprofessional. He notified me that he was the manager. He also told me they sent a post card in the mail, which is a "lie" I check my mail daily! I will be taking legal action very soon. Not to mention the location is horrific!! Extreme homeless activity and rodents roaming all over. I'm not sure if I'll even keep my items after this stay, considering I'm on ground level. Do NOT RENT HERE! I repeat, DO NOT RENT HERE!!! If I could give 0 starts I really would. I will not be letting this go easily, as they rip me off. They are aware of the hassle it is to move and get our things in here, and they make it extremely hard, everything else is already expensive in this area. Don't rent here. Yes they bait and switch you with the rent price, the place has a rodent issue etc etc but what finally got me to leave after renting a storage unit here for years was the terrible new management they have now. They treat you like a criminal rather than a valued customer, cop attitude with you, talk to you crazy, yell at you if come in behind someone without entering a code (even though they recognize you) and charge you if you forget a piece of paper or a box while gathering things from storage and fine you for it without a warning. They also switched up the hours without proper notice so if you use your storage for work early morning like I do, you can no longer access it. Just ridiculous people to deal with, go to public storage, all storage units tend to have their issues but at least you can come and go freely as a paying customer without being treated like garbage. (Updated 5/28/25) If this review is still live, no remedy has been offered by this location--regardless of any response they may post here. Warning to future renters: Do not store anything valued over $2,000, as that is the maximum covered by insurance in case of theft. My unit was broken into 6 months into the lease, and I was never notified. They continued charging me for another 6 months, despite the unit being nearly empty. Break-ins at this location appear to occur regularly around major holidays--ask directly before renting. If you must rent here, do not do so for more than 6 months. Customer Service Failures: When I tried to seek a remedy, I was told there was a "new manager catching up." This excuse was repeated over 5-6 calls, and despite providing my contact info, I never received a follow-up from either the site manager or the "district manager." I will be pursuing legal action for negligence based on the failure to notify. This review will be updated with developments. read more

Don't rent here. My storage was robbed. Completely emptied out and they did nothing to help me. Corporate greed. DDD. Chelsea was great, very kind and helpful and the staff for the most part we're also very kind empathetic and helpful. It's the insurance and the corporate policies that I have a problem with and just a true display of evil capitalistic policies. read more

Storage space got broken into last month, came into see the damage a lot of stuff was gone and the managers or staff did nothing about it, we also could not see the footage unless police were involved. Also the new manager is very rude down talking not only to customers but to their staff as well read more

The Manager Alicea was super attentive and very helpful during our move out! I have been with previous storage company before Extra Space took over and wow!!! You can see how they cleaned this place up! Yes, before they took over it was a mess and had some issues. But as I was moving out I saw pest control spraying and they changed out all new doors. You can see they are putting the effort in making it better. I highly recommend Alecia we were in H09 a outdoor unit. For safe keeping from outside extremities, I recommend renting it indoor! read more

This is regarding vehicle storage/parking. The lady here was very friendly and very helpful, but I simply couldn't leave my vehicle here. It's not a safe location and the fence wasn't very secure. I decided I wasn't comfortable even leaving it overnight, much less storing it there long-term. It may be better than leaving it on the street, but not by much. The people working there are great though! read more

High theft location, if you love your belongings do not rent any of your stuff here or any storage near by. All my belongings were stolen and the storage manager will tell you we are not responsible for theft just like your apartment the landlord is not responsible if you stuff is broken into so stay away. There are many other safe public storages somewhere else and not in E.12th St Oakland and 29th Ave. Horrible location and dangerous read more
