I had things here for a decade and it was really excellent. Reliable, safe, no leaks or floods, and very reasonable rent increases. Having U-Hauls to rent from this location was really helpful too. Lynn and Lonnie are the greatest. They always went out of their way to help me with anything and everything. They're two of the sweetest people you could ever meet. I would definitely recommend Allsafe Alameda! read more

It's strange to be sorry to leave a storage space, but the managers here are amazing. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and secure... pretty much everything you would want. The prices are not the cheapest, but they are set by corporate, so I do not hold it against the local management. read more

High increases of long time customers is a huge minus. My unit from $500(not including $17 for insurance) is increasing to $643 without the $17. I will be looking either another storage or just emptying my unit. This is price gouging of long time customers read more

Lynn and Lonnie (sic) are really great. The place is well maintained and feels quite safe. Meeting L & L was a true pleasure and they do a good job of making you feel at home. If you need storage, this is the place to go. read more

The couple working there, I wish I remember their name but I'm bad at remembering, I apologize. They are both friendly, very helpful, professional. They made the process easy. I would highly recommend!! 5+ stars read more

My review is not based on renting a storage unit here, but on the warmth and helpfulness of the two kind folks I interacted with today. I was meeting someone to buy a desk they had advertised online, and I arrived early. I had to use the restroom, and the gentleman working here re-routed himself in the middle of a task so that he could go and open the restroom for me. On my way back out, the woman asked me if I needed any help wth anything, bags, etc. They both were just so friendly and helpful. This left me with such a positive feeling about the place, and was a happy reminder of how we should treat others always. read more

Abandoned me in the hot sun and cost me $150 in transportation costs. Rented a uhaul here. Confirmed reservation with pickup instructions. No one at the location. Customer service disavowed any responsibility to provide me with a vehicle even though I have a confirmed reservation for a pickup at 2:00 p.m. . Proprietor of this location it was inside their unit and ignored me and I disabled friend in the hot sun. read more

Allsafe Self Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Alameda, California

Good value, really nice staff. Place seems safe and well protected. Only nit is that the lighting and power seems really dubious with some exposed wiring. Other than that, seems pretty good. No signs of water damage (great) and they clearly do pest control. read more

I have been to several storage facilities throughout my life, but All Safe Storage takes the cake! Lonnie and Lynn are so friendly and personable, I really appreciate the warm welcome upon moving in. And any issue that arose, they handled w professionalism and grace. Two very cool people that I would definitely recommend renting from. The facility is clean, and easily accessible. Any extra tools or help you may need is provided here. Thank you guys for all your hard work and assistance! I give All Safe Storage in Alameda 5 stars - no other storage place even compares! Lonnie and Lynn are a good team, and they deserve all the business they can get. read more

I hardly ever write reviews but I came here to rent a u-haul for my daughter's move last week (Oakland to Santa Cruz) and I will never rent from anywhere else! Lynn & Lonnie are the most sweetest, caring, efficient, attentive people I have come across in a long time! The most seamless rental ever! Thank you so much! Highly recommend! read more

Allsafe Self Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Alameda, California

Good people work here. Very helpful with any issues that may arise. I feel we chose a good place for storage needs

I rented a Uhaul through this place, Customer service was great. Talking to the lovely people at the front office helped me feel ready to start my day and a huge move. Equipment was clean and seemed well serviced, after hours drop off was a breeze. I appreciated not having to go through the online drop off process and just recieving my finalized bill in the morning. If/whenever I need a UHaul again I will definitely return to this location. Best Uhaul experience I've had and I've been to 5-10 different locations. read more

I have two storages out in Livermore but had to clear out a workspace this week. My sisters have a unit here and I went online to snag what I thought would just be a quick space. Unfortunately the space was too small for my needs as I underestimated the space I'd need. Everything else was done online and I picked out my access code drive right in and I was disappointed for picking out the smaller unit. Did I end up S.O.L?? Nope the attendant was working with another customer when I walked into the office so o went to confer with my sister about the next options. Before I knew it he came out greeted me and boom problem solved. Went for the larger space, he set it up and transferred everything and honored the web price since I had originally signed up online. Escorted us to the new unit and got the paperwork done by the time I had moved in. When I went to the office there was another lady there and she seamlessly took over while the guy was working with another customer. They are spot on and have the warmest of demeanors. I am already trying to plan out moving out of my other storages and have all of my things here. You cannot beat the type of service you get when you have to problem solve. It really shows the integrity of a business. I only wish I had caught their names. A-1 class service!!! read more

I've been to a lot of storage facilities and this place by far tops them all. All the way around the best storage experience I've had. Yes it's clean, yes customer service was amazing, but what stuck out to most was that I felt like my stuff was safe. read more

If you have to store stuff, great place to do it. Family run. Clean, safe, highly recommend.

Lonny is the BEST. I came here for a 24/7 U-Haul pick-up. There was some confusion with the check-in time but thankfully Lonny opened up shop when we arrived and walked us through the process with patience, positivity, and amazing service, all with such a fun attitude at 9AM on a Saturday. A regular renter came in at the same time as us and you could tell that Lonny has great rapport with his customers. I don't have need for a storage unit at the moment, but when I do and if I'm still in the area, I'd come here, just for Lonny! read more

Great company to work with! As the name said, all safe storage space, clean, safe and secure! Lynn and Lonnie Lewis are such a wonderful people, very supportive and reliable! The prices are also great and the value added is a big bonus specially for those like me who don't live near East Bay. Strongly recommended! read more

We've rented trucks several times now and have had a great experience. The pick up and drop off are super easy and the truck is always clean and in good shape. There are closer u-haul locations to us, but we go out of the way to this one because of the amazing service! read more

All-Safe Storage is all safe! Had my items there for two years (Dec 2020-April 2023) without any incidents.....even through the rainiest season in many years. Lynn & Loonie are the sweetest most responsive professionals and totally would use them again if needed. read more

Stored my stuff here for almost 3 years. Safe location, always had access. Was scared with flooding the last couple years but no issues!

This awesome husband and wife team took really great care of myself and my Dad trying to get his personal belongings into a new storage unit while I'm 400 miles away. I really appreciate it! read more

The people who run this storage place are quite possibly the most friendly people I have ever met. They are so welcoming and helpful. They know my name and greet me by it every time they see me. Just had my rent increased by $12.00 per month, and I stop by my unit and see the storage company now puts stickers on renters own locks! I dont know why the new stickers?, dont put on unit A306! It messes up my property! I guess those stickers were paid by my rent increase! Faul! Go get your money back and give me a few dollars cheaper rent! It was and is a waste of good money! Please dont put on my locks! A306! read more

Great storage facility. Very safe during covid too precautionary measures sanitizing everything. Great prices safe area and safe storage. Thank you!! read more

why are all the "great" reviews on here for Allsafe after an obviously sincere, bad review? It smells fishy to me! If you get more than three reviews that the people are jerks and can't be trusted, you can usually trust it's not one lone nut job. also notice the response to the negative reviews do not explain this behavior logically, or they ignore the review then another " review" claims the bad review was a crazy person? I was told my lockers were broken into but nothing was stolen "they said!" They know from the security video !!! Please tell me how I'm going to believe this or how I can verify when it was clear my lockers were jam packed and there Was no way to know or prove it! Even if nothing was stolen there was no apology no discount, they put on new locks and they didn't inform me until I went in to get something. Apparently the other lockers had nothing taken as well! Pickiest methhead storage- burglars in existence!!! ( funny how burglars knew what lockers were filled with antiques and entire possession of our homes!!!! Inside job would explain why I wasn't shown footage of intruder or given info on how they entered or got out and was not given a police report number, they didn't bother filing one? Yeah right! I swear is it just me or is there just something shady about old school storage managers ??? I'm in need of a storage now and would like a inexpensive but trustworthy option! I'm not a snob but I've never been so insulted in my life! I trusted these people with my personal and valuable objects !!! Lesson here : read between the "good" reviews. No one is so hated and so loved at once except maybe politicians! read more

I have nothing but great things to say about this storage facility. The staff there are extremely welcoming and they know what they are doing. They keep the facility super clean too. The past 2 yrs plus have been great! Saw two separate managent teams and then first of 2019 new resident managers.... ahhh... not so great. I did not know B & J had left, and paid in cash after hrs as I'd done before, knowing B & J were honest. Not knowing a new couple were there, I put cash in mail box at office and they say "they never saw it"...well gee, I wonder what could have happened????? My dad gave me a bunch of rules to follow in life, and one was "never trust anyone named Lonnie!" (Guess his wife Lynn never heard that one). Totally unprofessional, rude and evasive/, inconsistent with answers re: this mysterious cash dissapearance. I did not get much help from the district manager, Cathy, who gave so many lame excuses and possible explanations for the cash dissapearance that I was ready to hear her say it could have walked away... Now a nice situation with the storage place I'm at is ruined, and I got ripped off in the first place. (So that means I paid for the shitty situation I now have there#!?@#) My advice? Take my dad's and go somewhere where thieves (Lonnie & Co) don't work....WTF!? read more

I don't like posting reviews (takes up too much time.) But when I recommended a friend here and she said she was unsure if she was going to rent due to a bad review about the new managers, I had to see what was up. I read the review and it was such a gross defamation of character. The new managers are such a lovely couple and I have nothing but good to say about them. I can't imagine what sort of prejudice the woman has saying never to trust anyone because their name... Wonder if her dad said not to trust people of a certain race because I think that might be her real issue. read more

I needed a unit for 6 Months; i shopped around and this place had the best rates. Signing up was fast and easy; the couple that owns and runs it are super nice, and the unit was clean and secure. I set up auto pay because I was going to be out of the country the whole time, and I never had a single issue whatsoever. My stuff stayed dry and safe, but the most amazing thing that prompted this review was the proof of their awesomeness that I received when I moved out. I moved out on a Sunday afternoon. Their office is closed on Sundays, so I called them Monday morning to inform them and formally close my account. They knew exactly who I was and were ready for my call because they apparently did their daily walk of the property Sunday night and noticed that my unit had been cleaned out! THEY WALK THE PROPERTY EVERYDAY, EVEN ON THEIR DAYS OFF, TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS SAFE AND SECURE! I was blown away by their care and attention to detail. I just couldn't believe it. If I ever need to store stuff again I will go out of my way to use Ben and AllSafe in Alameda. Thank you so much for looking after the entire contents of my home so well for me. read more

I rented a small unit here for 8 months. Everything was professional and courteous. However, an incident occurred that I felt I needed to warn people about. A friend with a pickup truck came to help me move some things. Apparently we did not leave proper clearance in drive space and we needed to move truck. However, instead of asking us, he told us in a harsh way. Ok. So we start moving things out of the way to make space to move truck, and Jim goes into a crazy rant, targeting my friend --- calling him names, moving toward him aggressively and threatening to vacate me. At no time did we argue with or refuse to move. He wanted to pick a fight. I believe Jim is dangerous. The fact that he's always been nice to me (and i am white) and got so aggressively hostile to my friend (who is Latino and covered in tattoos) suggests to me that he is racist. I reported this incident to the owners a few days ago, and have not yet gotten a response. What happened was beyond unprofessional. read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR THINGS HERE!!! Worst storage experience possible. Highlights: * Thousands of dollars of belongings "stolen" * Incompetent staff and management Stored my belongings here for four months. During that time I was called three separate times to collect my billing info, despite giving it directly to management and asking to be put on auto payment each time. At one point was told I had given my credit card info to someone who hadn't worked at the facility in months...then why is that person picking up your business phone line? When I went to check on my stuff, after they told me there was a break in, it took them ten minutes just to find my account in their system. During that time the staff said they didn't think my unit was one of the ones that had been broken into, instead they thought it was one of the units that had been in the fire. What? You're having fires and robberies? Couldn't be more disappointed with the experience I had here. I highly recommend you put your things anywhere else. Hope this is helpful. read more

Jim and Gloria are gone. And so am I, after four years of being a good patron. New management is in, and they're awful. Short form: I received a demand for payment four or five months ago. I didn't think I owed it; I was on auto-debit from my bank account for the entire time I had been there, and I hadn't changed services. I wrote back inquiring nicely what this was about, and was curtly told to never mind, that their payment demand was in error. OK. That wasn't awful. But three weeks ago I received two letters from them saying, in essence, your two lockers haven't been paid for, pay us now plus ten bucks for each for late fees, or else. I again wrote back via email saying, hey, waitaminnit, I'm on autopay, and have been for years, what's with the demands rather than an inquiry. (I run a business. If a good customer - or a bad one, for that matter - is late, I call and check in, I don't send a letter saying "pay now or else, sincerely, management," because that's RUDE.) We had a back and forth. Them: your autopay didn't work. Me: It's worked fine for four years, it's probably an issue with your management changeover, I'm sorry about that, and am happy to fix it - but after your previous and rude and impersonal "give me money - whoops sorry never mind" correspondence, I'd like you to waive the $20 late fee. Them: we're pretty sure you overdrew your bank account and ran out of $$$ and that's why autopay didn't work and so no, we'll split the late charge with you. Me: Um. WTF. I wrote back, explaining my bank account had continually had plenty of $$$ in it and that they have crap systems and no bedside manner and terrible judgment. I told them I'd immediately pay them what I owed, including that $20 late fee, and that I'd be out by the end of the month. All of which I did. Silver lining: with four hours of work, I moved from a storage place four minutes from my house to a storage place eight minutes from my house, that costs 30% less for the same amount of space, with a more secure facility, friendly people, trucks for rent, a security system that greets me by name. (And a place that hasn't had any fires that made the news, like Allsafe had a couple months before this review was written.) Congratulations, All Safe Storage. You lost a pay-on-time, four-year, easygoing customer by deciding to haggle over ten bucks. I miss Jim and Gloria. They knew how to run a company. But now I'm at Alameda Central Self-Storage, and I'm thrilled. Join me. read more

I will recommend this facility to anyone who needs storage in the SF East Bay. The process of moving was so stressful and I can't even describe how much I appreciate the managers, Lonnie, and his wife. Wow! I almost wish I still had the need for storage beyond my move. They are so kind, accommodating and helpful. They helped me figure out each step of the way as my situation kept changing and my storage needs shifting. I loved how clean the place is, quiet, easy access and very safe. Basically the facilities were great, but the management phenomenal! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Terri read more

Pretty sure I've never written a review before but I just had to commend the management here for outstanding customer service. Lonnie and Lynn were such friendly (and professional) in their customer service skills. They made me feel very secure about my choice to rent a unit. At the same time, very easy to talk to, down to earth hands down good people!!!!!! I had been looking online about a week and knew I wanted a place that just had one level to it. My last place was horrible like a maze with elevators and the wait for anything customer related always took forever! So today I was very pleased to be given 2 choices of very convenient units to pick from and they were prompt with everything despite the fact that the three of us were talking the whole time!!! I was in and out in a flash! Highly recommend this place ! You will not be disappointed with management here!! read more

This place is the best...hands down!! I've rented storage units everywhere and Jim and Gloria make the difference at Allsafe. Always clean, always watched over and secure, and good prices.
