0 stars if I could. If you have the same problem as I did dispute it with your bank and please pay attention to what they are charging you!! My husband and I were moving, we rented a storage unit dec 28th and paid for it. The next day dec 29th, we were to move in. We ended up not needing the storage unit so I called on jan 5th to cancel it and get a refund because I was within the 7 days. The lady I spoke with, said she cancelled it and that I would get a full refund. She said she understood completely and she was so apologetic said she was going to make sure we got the refund knowing we are tight with money. I don't understand what happened?? Today feb 2nd I get a call from them saying my accounts going to be over due? I'm in the middle of cleaning and he asks me when i called, i said maybe the second week of january i don't know exactly id have to look.. immediately put me on hold, told me there was no notes that I cancelled at all or called even.. and to top it off he said i told him I called jan 14th?? and there's no way to "check". He was unhelpful but he actually cancelled my unit but wouldn't give me a refund even though they screwed up on their end. Anyway I had to dispute it with my bank where I found out I was charged $105 instead of the $76 it was supposed to be. Thankfully my bank handled it professionally and opened a case. Thank Wells Fargo for giving me my money back immediately and for taking care of your customers! Wells Fargo is the best bank I have ever had the pleasure of being with!! Extra Space Storage was very unprofessional, extremely disappointed with how they handled it. We never even step foot in the building let alone the unit and they had no idea? Seems very disorganized and not taken seriously. I wouldn't store any of my valuables here. I've worked at a very similar company and we actually took care of our customers and paid attention. Maybe find a different location than this one? Idk. Do not recommend this place, go to uhaul or something that is better and they won't steal from you! and sorry I don't have pictures cause I never even stepped foot in the building! I been renting my own storage almost for seven months and my experience has been very satisfactory! They have ac inside, the staff is friendly and really knowledgeable and also they have restrooms inside which it is really convenient when I am going with my kids ! F*ck this storage spot. Units have been getting stolen & ransacked for the past 7 months (including mine recently) & they haven't done a single thing about it. When asked to check the cameras they make some excuse of them "not being faced the right way" & i call bullshit. How is it that this has happened so many times & nothing be resolved? I went to drop some things off last month & it was completely fine & when i went back yesterday there was a whole new lock. So they saw our original lock wasn't there & decided to replace it with No contact to us whatsoever? Esmeralda is a cold hearted bitch that is probably involved if we're being honest. Love it here. Got a good deal on a large storage and been here over a year now. Place is clean, easy to get in and out, opens early and closes late everyday from 6am to 10pm. I received a phone call from the receptionist asking if I was going to make payment because I only had one day to pay. I rushed over payed the bill opened my unit to find my tv broken, my mattress folded over like a taco, my filing cabinets broken into, my clothes everywhere and as I'm presently going through this all my camping gear (im not even halfway into my unit smdh). I know it was the lesbian and the front receptionist I just don't have the proof. As stated in an earlier review the footage magically doesn't cover the specific timeframe you need so I don't have proof. I even found a lock pick in my unit. read more

The location is amazing but unfortunately, several times you might not get no access to your unit because the elevator might not work or the door might be locked and this happens specially after office hours or Sunday night when you speak with someone in the office to notify them, they promise they will give you some credit that doesn't get credited and then you have to follow up on that. I had an awful experience at the Extra Space Storage in Cerritos (17900 Crusader Ave). My storage unit was broken into and ransacked. I arrived on May 17 to find my belongings tossed around, fragile items broken, and multiple valuables stolen. The staff admitted they noticed my unit had no lock on May 15 but never filed a police report. Instead, they just re-locked it and left everything undocumented. I was only contacted via a voicemail. When I asked for email-only communication for documentation, the supervisor refused to respond in writing and only called me repeatedly instead. I was told by the police officer who responded that this location has had multiple break-ins and that Extra Space barely cooperates and makes it difficult for law enforcement to even access footage. I've now filed a BBB complaint and a formal police report. Their handling of the break-in was unprofessional and dismissive, and their refusal to provide written communication raises serious concerns. Be very cautious storing anything valuable here. Avoid this place at all costs--especially because of the manager, Esmeralda. She is mean, heartless, and has zero compassion. I fell behind on my unit after getting sick with COVID. At first, I was only short $20 on one month's rent. Instead of working with me, they piled on almost $270 in fees and even added the current month's rent (due 8/18) into the total--pushing my balance to $608. I managed to come up with $211, but was still about $400 short. I begged Esmeralda to take a partial payment so I wouldn't lose my belongings, which include my passport, Social Security card, and birth certificates. She flat-out refused. Cold, dismissive, and cruel. She demanded the full inflated balance immediately or my unit would be auctioned that day. This wasn't about money--it was about being heartless. Esmeralda hid behind "policy" and treated me like garbage when I was sick and struggling. What's worse is that Extra Space Storage corporate allows this behavior. They empower managers like Esmeralda to nickel-and-dime customers with outrageous fees, then auction off everything you own over a technicality. If you value your belongings, your money, and basic human decency, do not trust Extra Space Storage. They will not help you--they will exploit you. read more

So making the long drive out here is a waste of time and money. Can't access at all. The people in the office don't always know enough to give you a day code to access. Would leave zero stars if I could. I rent a small unit, I got a call this Tuesday from manager casually informing me my unit was broken into on Saturday or SUNDAY (two - three days later) and to come check it out to assess what was taken. I had a bag of extremely valuable mementos that was stolen. Had all my childhood yearbooks, photo albums, and the last mementos I had left of my dad before he tragically passed away. All stolen. Manager lady was extremely cold, dismissive, and honestly just made it all seem suspicious. They refuse to let you see any video footage, they said that they would only cooperate with the police if I wanted to call them, they said they would file a police report which I doubt they will. I don't understand how someone can get away with this when there are identifiable codes required to get into any building, and cameras clearly recording down every single hallway. There is no doubt they clearly can see who took my belongings and where they headed off to with them. Learn from my mistakes and never store your belongings here. They are not safe. For all I know, the employees themselves are getting away with these burglaries, or they must have people living in their units, picking locks in their downtime. This place is always dirty. People are rude and lazy. Not courteous and you are locked out the day after your rent is due now I know that there is a 10 day grace that they don't honor. You have to come into the office to show your ID if you have two units or more they're all locked to the same one code and one is locked. They are all locked no matter what date the others are due, even if they are current and not due for three weeks. I would suggest you go elsewhere. The people are rude. The places is dirty. Restrooms are always disgusting. Bring your own toilet paper and ask gaskets and don't trust your things to them at all. They also pay for your review whenever you give them a good review they will pay you and kind with a box or two tape or some type of supply from the office. My point is that these reviews aren't what they see if you ask the people who actually rent here they will tell you the truth about this place. I don't know how many people have been robbed. I had no idea of the change in company, didn't open the ONE email they sent because I don't use this company and was 13 days late for a payment (even though I was on auto pay and had been making on time payments for the last year I was under storquest) Esmeralda the "manager" told me "you should've opened the email and you would've known" horrible customer service and hung up on me after I become overly frustrated at her lack of help and used some choice words. WARNING! Stay away! After extra space took over for a StorQuest. This facility has gone down the drain. they removed all the signs in the bathroom stating that if the bathroom was not clean to ask any of the employees and they would be cleaned. now you could never even find paper in there and today I found hair all over the sink & the wall. I was walking up to my unit last night, and I even saw a roach. If there's one there is a colony somewhere. Even if your bill is paid, the management here will easily restrict your account, and you will not have access to your unit. Be careful if you call the corporate number because the management here will look at everything you say, and if they don't like it, they are going to do everything they can to get you evicted read more

Staff was all nice and approachable. The location is good but the only thing i can complain is that they don't have enough trolley on site. Especially on weekends and late afternoon where people are out from work and moving their stuff in the storage . I have to wait 2 hours or carry my things by hand one on one to get someone's trolley after they move. read more

Awful! They took over the facility from StorQuest and it's been downhill since! I got a postcard in the mail saying they're upping my rate $100 more! Now the parking lot is always dirty and the bathroom is filthy! The gate stays half open a lot of times so your stuff is not secure. When you're only a few days late they restrict your code to force you to pay them. Just an awful overall take over! StorQuest was better. Extra Space loves price gouging!
