They continually raised the price until it was 4x, and when I told them I planned to move out if they did not reduce it by 50% (still twice the price), they offered nothing. I had to drive from NV to CO to move out of this rat infested overpriced storage unit. read more

Absolutely do not use this storage facility. My rent was $135 then it went up to $251 then they raised it to $291 and that's when I moved out. Do not do not do not use this company. Unless you like moving your items to another facility after they raise your payment, don't even begin to use this place. Buyer beware, started out with $100/ month unit, 3 months later they upped it to $200 without informing me at the beginning that they would do so. Manager Daniel said he'll find a way to help me with that price if I leave a positive review, left a good review and a month later when I asked about price he said he can't do anything. Rented a unit sight unseen. They gave me two separate units for a special price in leau of the size I requested, which I agreed to. When I arrived the units were clean but there was an oil spot. I was a bit concerned with this since I didn't get to point this out to management when I took the units. However, they did not give me any trouble at move out (which I'm thankful for). The management is friendly and they keep the place clean. I will ding them for some of the staff not seeming to be aware of the policies when I wanted to get rid of one of the two units. They at first said it was possible but later turned out I would have had to completely move my stuff to a different unit since apparently these non-adjoined units were apparently sold together. Certainly not the end of the world, but I think training would have helped avoid the confusion. read more

We had a problem with our moving company, that told us when picking up the stuff from our two-bedroom apartment in Seattle on a Friday that it would be delivered in Denver/Boulder the following Monday (three days later, and before the delivery window given in our contract). This forced us to frantically try and find a self-storage unit that could accept our stuff remotely three days later. Places in Boulder were all booked, but someone suggested Extra Space Storage in Broomfield so we called them. My wife spoke with Rachel at Extra Space Storage on the phone and explained our situation. She said that they handle this sort of thing all the time and it would be no problem for them to accept delivery of our things from a moving truck. She even gave us a special form to sign, a "Hold Harmless" agreement where we agreed that they could accept deliveries on our behalf and we would not hold them liable for any problems. My wife specifically asked if we needed someone to be there to sign for our things, and Rachel told her we did not...not with the Hold Harmless form signed. Come Monday morning, we get a call from our moving company saying that Extra Space Storage is refusing to let them put our stuff in our self-storage unit. My wife called Extra Space Storage and this time Eric answers, and says that it is their policy that they cannot sign for or accept liability for any deliveries on other peoples' behalf. She mentions that we explicitly signed the Hold Harmless form so they could accept our shipment, but he steadfastly insisted that they would not sign for or accept liability for any deliveries. This caused us to frantically call everyone we could think of that we knew in the area in the middle of a work day to see if anyone could drive out to sign the darn forms that Rachel had said would be no problem for them to sign. We only had an hour before our moving company would start charging us for a delay in delivery. Eventually we found someone who dropped everything and drove out and sign on our behalf. Once we arrived in town and went to pick up our stuff, we asked (Rachel) about this and she didn't seem to remember anything. The staff at this place needs to understand what their policies are going to be. read more

I have been trying to clean out my storage unit in Broomfield CO and all my personal belongings are gone and donating to the church the rest of things left,, now you want to prorate my rent so the church can pick up the items for needy families and as disabled senior veteran on a fixed income and your company wants your money for things being donated when its been hard to get them to pick things up do to illness and holidays involved. Your manager at Broomfield is not willing to compromise or care about anything to let the church in to get the items out. Nothing really of value, even at auction might get 75-100, so you want a unit to sit for another 45 days or so without income and more expense just so you can get 100 dollars out of someone and as your manager shared ruin their credit and such. Whatever happened to helping the community your in and others around and just doing the right thing and not worry about money and ruining people. I will be posting this to my facebook page and to Veteran Pages and Senior Pages in hopes if you want your money and to follow procedures then I can do the same thing and hopefully cost you new clients that would rent from your facility and you gain more profits from them as well. Blogging will cost your company some new clients and some bad pr due to being a Senior Disabled Veteran. Your choice in the matter. read more

The in person customer service at Broomfield was great. But I went in to extra space for a special deal and was supposed to be paying 110 a month for my unit. They then force you to buy their insurance and they raised the rate until I finally was up at 160 a month before 6 months was up. They also try to sell you expensive locks and don't mention any of the extra fees until the day your first payment is due. I would not recommend this place and I won't use them again if I need storage. read more

Well I just signed a contract two weeks ago after much back and forth to get an internet deal that initially they would not honor after being quoted on the phone. Also beware that the size of the unit you agree upon will not actually be the size that you rent. Perhaps this the common practice but it's poor ethics if you ask me. Then once you get in there they try selling you on insurance, packing tape, locks etc. I once had a unit with them and the rate was constantly going up so I expect this will happen again. Couple of good things I can say is they are clean and secure. read more
