    Morning Market Scramble
    Kyle H.

This is my first time at Everyday Eatery in Irvine. It is located in a strip mall next to other small eateries. There is lots of parking out front. The interior space is rudimentary with 5 small tables and 1 shared high table and stools in the middle. There is a Large common Outdoor area with lots of tables under Large umbrellas. As you walk in, right in front of you , you will find a basket with menus in it. Grab a menu so you could decide on what to order while waiting in line. I think this is a great idea and it saves time. Also, the menu is written with large prints which is always a plus. I did not have to use my reading glasses. You order first, grab your number and find a table. The menu is really simple, but on point. (See full menu in photos) I ordered the morning market scramble. It is scrambled eggs with veggies. Side of breakfast potatoes extra crispy. And salad. It was really good. The portion was generous. I also got a cardamom rose latte iced with oat milk, and one pump of syrup instead of three. It is one of their specialty drinks. It wasn't anything special. It was just as good as anywhere else. The prices are average.the service is really friendly and the food is good. I recommend trying everyday eatery for a quick and satisfying bite any day of the week.

    Essentials breakfast (gf) option

We checked out the menu for gf options and reviews before going here for breakfast. They were accurate. The coffee and food was delicious. I wanted to try the Spanish latte but t was "oh so" delicious. I ordered the Essentials since it had the gf option. It came with a salad. It seems more places are serving a side salad with breakfast now or maybe it's because mine was a gf meal. I'm so happy they did t have an extra charge because my meal was gf. Luckily we got there at the right time because the line got longer after we ordered. You place your order then they bring the food out to you. The staff members are cheerful and helpful. Must be a fun place to work. There is eating inside and out.

This breakfast place is so cute and they have some really creative menu items. They are open until 3 pm so I'm getting an iced matcha non fat latte. It's quick and easy and I stopped in to check it out. They also have a lot of gluten-free breakfast items which are relatively healthy

I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time and finally came here to celebrate the belated Mother's Day for my girls "day" out. The place is located in a food court strip mall that is surrounded by businesses. As a result, this strip mall gets very busy around lunch time. The place has healthy options. I ordered the Turkey Pesto Sandwich with a side of salad since it was a brunch gathering. The portion was perfect and filling too. Taste was spot on. After I finished my lunch, I didn't feel super stuffed at all. Seeing they have breakfast options, a few days later I brought my daughter over for early breakfast. We ordered the French Toast Forever and Espresso Mascarpone Waffle. They were delicious and beautifully presented. My daughter and I came around 7:30 am on a Sunday morning. There was no crowd at all. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My daughter approved of the place and we'll be coming back again.

I came here for the first time over the weekend and loved the food here. The essentials: the standard, typical American breakfast with eggs, breakfast potatoes, choice between bacon/sausage, and toast or salad. The breakfast potatoes were good and flavorful. We picked sausage, but unfortunately they offer turkey sausage here instead of pork (so it's a little dry and bland). It's what you can expect from an American breakfast and a solid breakfast option Lemon ricotta hotcakes: The portion size is HUGE! I definitely recommend sharing with another person unless you have a large pancake appetite, haha. The honeycomb butter is sooooo delicious. I didn't even feel like I needed syrup for the pancakes after spreading the butter :) Nice lemon flavor, but I definitely wished it was a little more prominent Even though the line looks long, it does move quickly and I like that they had an employee managing the line inside and outside :) There's only a limited amount of seating inside, but plenty of tables outdoors. Considering how crowded it was, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Plenty of parking in the lot. I would definitely come back!

Amazing breakfast burrito! I ordered mine with the turkey sausage, and I was not disappointed. The eggs were fluffy, sausage not overdone, crisp potatoes, and good sauce!

Lemon Ricotta Hotcakes and The Essentials

Being in the area once a week, we decided we would try a new place each time. Today, we stumbled upon EVERYDAY EATERY. Located in a big shopping plaza, with lots of parking available, we grabbed breakfast. There are a few tables inside, which were all mostly taken, which is a good sign for a Tuesday morning. But there are plenty of tables outside as well. We got The Essentials which consists of eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon or turkey sausage, and toast or salad. Had to try the lemon ricotta hotcakes which were my favorite. So fluffy and absolutely delicious. I also tried their cardamom rose latte which was really good, too! Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast here. Staff is friendly, place is clean, and food is great!

Loved our experience here. Food was fantastic, staff were friendly and the owner even came out and asked if we needed anything and also told us about special kids items we could order that aren't on the menu. My coffee was perfect and not overwhelming with the rose flavor. Food portions were pretty big and I would love to come back next time I visit!

Spanish Lattes, French Toast Forever and Bacon Breakfast Burrito
    Mikki C.

Today's trip was to try brunch and we were impressed! The customer service was sublime and we ordered: -French toast forever (a tad burnt and definitely needs more "stuffing". The stuffing was so light it kinda appeared like melted butter) -Breakfast bacon burrito (a little too salty, and the salsa it came with was delicious) -Spanish Lattes (best I ever had)

I got a chance to visit Everyday Eatery today and had an average experience. Food: I ordered the scrambled egg sandwich with breakfast potatoes. The sandwich was delicious and so was the breakfast potatoes. I also got to try the hot coffee which was also good. Service: The service here was average at best. You pay tip for them to bring you the food and you order at the counter. Ambiance: The decor inside is nice but the seating is not very comfortable.

We had a chance to try out this restaurant for breakfast this week. It is located along Irvine Center Drive, near Sand Canyon. We went in, sat down and waited. No one came to us? Strange? I went to the counter and was told you must stand in line and order your food. I grabbed a menu, read it, made a selection, and was given the option of 18 to 25 percent tip. What for? I did everything. Oh, they brought the food to me. Here we go again? A DYS restaurant. This seems to be happening everywhere. Restaurant owners are designing their service as DYS. Have we lost the value of human contact? Have we all given up on the value of humanity? Twenty years ago, everywhere you went, we talked to each other; now, it's tablet, cell phone, texting, tap your card, DYS eating. I asked for a coffee. They gave me a small paper cup. The coffee is really good, but not in a mug? No refills? The food came. It was okay. We sat shoulder to shoulder with other customers on a steel wire chair. It was not very comfortable at all. It would have been nice to talk to someone who worked there, but again, they just do their job and don't have time for chit chat. No reason, they are not earning tips. I rather go to Dennys up the street. They at least serve you and talk to you. The whole experience was Okay.

    Avo Toast

We were on vacation and came across this place. Their Spanish coffee was very good, and they also offer a ice, which is very nice since it was scorching hot outside lol They have a few tables inside the restaurant, which is nice, but because this is somewhat of a strip mall, there is also seating outside. The outside seating area is spacious and a share amongst other restaurants in that strip mall. We decided to sit outside so they brought the food to us, which is a nice add. We tried their breakfast burrito, their avocado, toast, and their chicken club sandwich. I have to say, the potatoes were amazing! They use sourdough bread, which is my absolute favorite and you can tell that it is fresh. The avocado was delicious on the toast as well. The burrito is very good and also a huge portion just as the rest of the food. All in all, if we ever go back to Irvine, we know where to go for breakfast and brunch !

    Chicken breakfast burrito
    Matt H.

I haven't been here in quite a number of years so I thought I would give their breakfast burrito a try based on the strong reviews. I was not disappointed!! The server was kind enough to give me an extra salsa when I asked for it. I'm accustomed to having spicy salsa which this was not but it paired well with the burrito. I can't say I've ever had a chicken breakfast burrito but this was surprisingly good. First of all, it was temperature hot which I appreciate. The tortilla was browned and thin which is perfect. The only thing I would change next time, is to go lighter on the cheese. I ate half and saved the other half for breakfast the following day. The ambiance is bright and open. There was plenty of seating on this Thursday morning. This place is quite popular on weekends!!

Ask the Community - Everyday Eatery

Hello, what brands do you use for chai and matcha? Thank you.

HI there! We use Mizuba Matcha and Inteligencia Chai.

    Are dogs allowed?

Only service dogs are allowed inside but there is patio seating where they can be

Besides the sweet foods and breakfast sandwiches (can't have eggs), are there options that onion/garlic/scallions/chives/etc can be removed? I know there are sauces and seasonings but I'm unsure if they contain alliums (those foods listed above)?

I highly recommend our Vegan Scramble with Brown Rice (instead of the quinoa; containing onions). This is one of my favorite dishes on the menu, and meets your dietary requirements!

Can you please have a separate line for patrons who only want to order to-go drinks? It doesn't make sense to stand in super long lines just for a latte ☹️

Absolutely! If you're ever after beverages only, you are welcome to come to the to-go table and we can jump the line for drinks!

On the weekends, when will phone and online ordering be back?

Our focus is to provide the best possible in-store dining experience, and in peak times we've found it necessary to stop the flood of orders we receive online, and sometimes by phone, to prevent long wait times. We recommend placing your order early…

Is there outdoor seating right now?

Yes there is shared outdoor space. Shared space is for all restaurant patrons in the plaza.

    Do they have WiFi?

Hi there. Sand Canyon Plaza has guest wifi services for the whole plaza, and there are conventional plugs and phone charging points at a number of locations outside. Hope this helps.

    Does this place take reservations?

We are counter-service, and you don't need reservations to come eat here. We have plenty of outdoor seating and there is no problem finding a table.

    Is it laptop friendly?

Is it laptop friendly 😂 😂 go to Barnes & Noble or Starbucks

Do you guys have lavender syrup for coffee?

Your timing is perfect! We make all of our syrups in house, and we are adding lavender to the menu tomorrow!

What vegan breakfast options do you have?

We have vegan options for our Avo Toast and Maple Olive Oil Granola, and our Macro Bowl is vegan too. Currently, we have a vegan carrot cake as well. In the coming weeks, we are launching a vegan scramble bowl with tofu and veges, and a vegan…

Do they have any high chairs for kids?

    No high chairs sorry.

Are you a nut free restaurant?

No, sorry, we are not nut-free.

Can I order breakfast at lunch time?

Yes, last time I went at lunch time I was able to order breakfast.

Is there outdoor seating so that we can our dog?

    Yes, plenty outside.

Can they make whole grain pancakes?

Right now we have a house-made hotcake batter using ricotta and other ingredients. It is not a whole-grain recipe, and we don't have a gluten free option for this dish.

    Do you serve organic coffee?

We serve Stumptown 'Hairbender' blend espresso, and House blend for our brewed coffee. The emphasis is on having the highest quality and consistency, and on ethical farming and trading practices. Although Stumptown does offer some organic varieties,…

Is the ricotta pancakes gluten free?

No, sorry. Our Green Brekkie Bowl, omelette, essentials plate and huevos rancheros are all gluten free though.

Do they have organic milk for espresso drinks? Thanks!

Yes they have many expresso drinks

    Do they do takeout?

Yes I call and order before going to work

I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.

A look into their pastry case led me to also request a raspberry danish. The single person behind the counter who was taking orders and working as barista was not exactly charming but it was understandable as she was slammed with multiple customers right when I arrived. My order was presented within a couple minutes (she was great at multitasking!) and I sat out on the patio. The iced mint cold brew was refreshing and was like drinking a box of Campfire Girl mints, both chocolatey and minty (sidebar: I am so sad that, as of last year, those mints are no longer made). It essentially was a mocha made with coconut milk and mint syrup; I really liked it. The pastry was rather dry but the raspberry filling was vibrant in flavor and not overly sweet. In fact, it probably made finding my car it a bit easier because of it. Once entering the main shop on the right (see picture) the demographic leans more toward UCI students with laptop plugs galore, Korean mom's meeting up with pre-school children coloring in the corner, and your coaches for the local HS sports teams taking a quick break to refill their 2nd or 3rd cup of coffee. In terms of coffee, I tend to lean on the traditionalist side and like my drinks more coffee forward. This time I ordered a cortado that was just the perfect amount of espresso forward accompanied by milk that did not taste overly warmed/steamed. It may be a simple drink, but Roosevelt did it well. For those who aren't as pompous as me about my orders, I was still very impressed by the Asian and Asian-American takes on traditional drinks and pastries. Count me in as a fan. Roosevelt Coffee is in a commercial area that doesn't get much foot traffic unless you're intentionally coming here. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. When I entered there was a large seating area with thoughtful outlets all around. Wifi available. Staff is friendly and quick. I ordered their Orange Creamsicle Latte ($7.75) and a prepackaged toffee Mulas Munchies Cookie ($6). Omgosh what an expensive cookie. Had I known I wouldn't have gotten it. The Orange Creamsicle Latte was good but the balance is a little off. I would like it more creamy it's called an orange creamsicle. I was able to get a seat, but it was a chair without a surface. I still overall really like the ambiance here. It has a nice busy get work done energy while still being fairly quiet.
