    Salmon Toast + Rodeo
    Shirley W.

Stopped by for a quick sandwich break and had this bookmarked for awhile! It's a small cafe shop, something that gets the job done. The indoor seating isn't really that cozy, but there are a few tables around that's just a place to sit. They have cute ambiance music though! There's more outdoor seating that feels a bit nicer haha. It was about 1pm and I wanted to try the Salmon Toast (since the menu said they only served it until 11am). Luckily the cashier said I was still able to order it! I heard that was a must get from here, so we got that, and my bf ordered a Rodeo. It didn't take too long to for our sandwiches, so service was great! The sandwiches were a bit on the smaller side, so for the price, it didn't really feel that much of a value? But all their ingredients do seem fresh. Taking in the first few bites, one thing I would say is that the salmon is very overpowering. It tasted fishier than it should be, which it made it taste a bit more unpleasant? I do like how they were generous with the pesto. However, I felt like the pesto didn't really complement it that much. The bread itself was pretty alright. I liked how my plate came with two slices of watermelon, which I oddly enjoyed that better than the sandwich lol. As for my bf's Rodeo sandwich, I actually liked his a lot more lol. That one seemed like it went well altogether. However, I was a bit more disappointed with the salmon toast. It was really the salmon fishy smell that threw me off. Maybe because it was like a smoked salmon? But it tasted like just separate ingredients were just put together to make something... meaning it didn't shine as a whole haha. Overall, I feel like that it is a bit overpriced for what it is. Even despite how fresh the ingredients may be, I feel like the size is not as worth it.

Once again showed up during their posted business hours and they are closed with no notice. I have no idea what their correct hours are.The hours posted on their door, on their website, and on Yelp are all incorrect.

Avocado Grilled Cheese Toast made vegetarian (added spinach & tomato)
    Vivek D.

Came here for breakfast with the family while out in Irvine at my cousin's place. I opted for the loaded grill cheese toast without bacon. It was very very good and tasty. I love that they were willing to accommodate my request for a vegetarian version of the toast and also added spinach and tomatoes to make it quite filling. The avocado was super fresh and the watermelon slices were a nice touch. I washed all of this out with an iced coffee which was the perfect mix. Enjoy this with a little dab of hot sauce and you cannot ask for more.

This breakfast and lunch cafe is conveniently located off the main road. There is ample street parking for 30 minutes just outside the restaurant. It is an excellent place to grab a breakfast sandwich coffee or smoothie.

I'm updating my review and dropping it to 1 star because I witnessed workers making food in the back with their bare hands. They would put together the sandwich and handle all the ingredients with their bare hands, scoop out chips from a costco sized bag with their bare hands, AND THEN go up to the register and handle money all without washing their hands at all. I feel so sick knowing I used to eat at this place. Unclean. Not worth it.

Hot Chai Latte & Tower 9 Sandwich
    Alexis K.

Cozy (what appears to be) family-owned cafe. Prices are reflective of the inflation era, but the Tower 9 sandwich and Hot Chai Latte were delicious. Services was kind.

    Breakfast burrito
    Sarah P.

Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. The eggs are super fresh, bacon and cheese are perfect, and the whole wheat wrap is grilled to perfection. AND comes with avocado which is amazing. My brother got the breakfast sandwich (not pictured) which he said was a "10/10". Service was super kind and very fast. The watermelon on the side was an unexpected treat, really appreciated. Outdoor seating outside is cute and welcoming.

    Chuy Sandwich
    Jordan L.

Service here was top notch!! Came in with a large order and they were able to have it all done SO fast. I was very impressed! The food itself was delicious. I had the Chuy sandwich. It was the perfect size to fill me up and not lead to the overwhelming need for a nap after. It was a cute little brunch/lunch spot with great vibes and friendly staff!! I will be back again soon.

    Kissel Sandwich

Hidden gem! Lots of chips for only $1.50 and they followed my instructions in the Kissel sandwich perfectly. Yum!

This location is much closer to home, so I visited one afternoon when craving their cookies. The interior is modern, classy-bougie, with 4 tables and a large cushy chair. I ordered two cookies, the chocolate chip walnut and peanut butter chocolate, along with an iced horchata latte. I sat at one of the tables, opened the box my cookies were presented in, and found myself in cookie ecstasy. The cookies are fat mountains of deliciousness. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. Both were superb. The horchata latte had just enough ice to keep it cold. It had a bold flavor of cinnamon which I loved. Staff here were friendly, efficient, and speedy. I like the vibe of this place but like their cookies even more.

Absolutely incredible café, with an incredible bakery selection and stunning drinks. If this cafe…read morewas closer to me, I would come here every single day!! The space itself is absolutely stunning with lots of seating both inside and outside. The store has a lot of floral decor, which gives it a very clean and spring vibe. The standouts for me here was the banana pudding, Matcha and the array of pastries they had available. We purchased two drinks here, one of which was the banana pudding Matcha and the other was a tiramisu cold brew. The banana pudding Matcha is one of the best drinks I've ever had with a rich high-quality Matcha and fresh creamy banana pudding inside. It's basically two desserts in one, and the flavors complement each other so well. Highly highly recommend - it's viral for a reason. The tiramisu cold brew was also good, although next time I would probably opt for a latte on the bottom since the cold brew is pretty strong. The foam on top was sweet and creamy. The pastries here are absolutely stunning, and I wish I could buy the entire display case. We ended up purchasing a Dubai chocolate croissant and a plain salt bread. The Dubai chocolate croissant was very unique - on the drier side but it definitely had that crunch and flake. I wish they had a little bit more chocolate or buttery elements to balance out the dryness of the cocoa powder. The salt bread was absolutely delicious, very well-made with a chewy texture. I will 100% be back to try everything else that Bag of Cakes has to offer. Highly recommend! We visited on a weekday during the afternoon since it was spring break, and there wasn't a line, but I've heard that lines can get long. There is plenty of parking in the plaza that it's located in. Definitely check this place out!!

When they first opened, the line was out the door, long, and unbearable (I'm not good with lines),…read moreso I left after seeing how crazy slow it was moving. I returned on a different day, same thing, so I left. Fast forward to May of 2026, I happen to be in the shopping center, so I decided to check it out. No line. The pastry cases looked amazing. There were so many choices; it was really hard to decide. There were several workers, but they seemed pretty uninterested in helping. No pep in the step, no energy, no eagerness to start ANY kind of small talk. This is so crazy. If you're walking into a small bakery that needs your business, why wouldn't they make a little more effort in creating a welcoming atmosphere for people who walk in, ready to dish out the pricey price for your pastries?! It makes no sense to me unless they are being paid very little or not being trained on etiquette and customer service. Just go into any Trader Joe's for reference: their cashier service is very welcoming and kind--and they are a huge grocery chain! It's not just this small bakery, I found worse non-service at the Fountain Valley location of Paderia! That review is next. I hate giving a 2-star review. But, the actual pastries I got were stale, dry, at least a day old, not fresh, FULL-priced pastries. I've gotten better tasting day old/end of day pastries from Too Good to Go, but they were severely discounted! I'm not sure how long they will get away with charging full price for stale pastries. Even my kids said the same thing. I was like is it just me? Incredulously thinking, it can't be, and sure enough, I read the reviews, and someone else said the same thing. I get it's a tough business. It's so sad all around. They should be getting a lot more tax breaks than big corporations do (who pay no taxes and pay to rig the rules), but there are several areas of improvement that could be made that is under their control. Maybe make fewer pastries each day, train your workers, etc. The cream and custard fillings are good, but I'm not going back.
