Fantastic place to enjoy some Kean coffee, escape the heat and get some work done with free Wi-Fi and clean restrooms. Ordered almond milk latte. The staff wasn't friendly. And some of them had very rude attitude. They took forever to make a latte and it was not busy at all in fact i was the only customer ordering. The drink was extremely hot. Latte milk is not supposed to be boiling hot. read more

The orange and cranberry kale salad was so delicious! There is an option to add more protein to the salad with a small cost and I opted for blackened salmon. While the salmon was flavourful, it was a little too cooked for my liking. It was probably fully cooked because it wasn't sashimi grade, but then again how can I expect it to be sashimi grade when it's so cheap! All in the all, I was quite pleased with the meal and I will definitely be back to try out more dishes! read more

I'm not sure how to keep this brief due to the amount of goodness at this cafe! Efficiently managed, great menu selection, superb ingredients (they even use micro greens!), small enough menu to keep everything selling and fresh, seasonally-changed menu, ability to watch the church service in the dining room or outside patio, and conveniently located close to the parking lot. While waiting, the attached bookstore is great for gifts and browsing. The catering events they produce are always top-notch. There is always something on the menu for everyone (beef, fish, vegan, kids, etc.). I've tried almost every item and enjoy the high-quality. There aren't many places that I trust to get poke- so thank you! Thank you for running an excellent restaurant and working hard to keep you staff well-trained and providing friendly service! We had this place cater a lunch that was sponsored by the German Tourism Board for a reformation trip we're planning and they hit it out of the park. The chef, Craig, made a fantastic buffet with sausage/sauerkraut, spatzle, mushroom dumplings, potato pancakes and apple strudel and everyone just raved about how delicious it was. I tend to get the same things every time, I am a creature of habit and once I find something I love, I get it. For breakfast - the cheese bagel. I don't even know how to explain it. It is like the crispy cheese on the bottle edge of a pizza - kinda like the best part of the pizza. Lunch and dinner? Hands down the turkey burger and fries. It is two meals worth and juicy and delish. Yes this is my church, yes I go there regularly, but I could eat anywhere and tend to think of the Global Cafe as a great meal option. I eat here often because it is in my neighborhood. Someone suggested it and I couldn't be more pleased! The food is always fresh and tastes great. They try to change the dishes a little to make it more exciting...saiads with pistachios and curried veggies. Today I ordered fish tortas and they came on a lovely fresh masa tortas with jimanca (?) Crunchy veggy slices. It was so good! The prices are very reasonable too. I would highly recommend dropping by. It is on the Mariner Church property. Enjoy! read more

Wow, I was impressed by the variety, quality and preparation! This cafe is a hidden Gem, but i must share it with others. "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you" - Mathew/Bible . ....With that said, i must tell the truth, even if it hurts b/c I like to hear the truth.... I'm sorry, but service needs to improve (by leaps and bounds). The cafe is in a peaceful and friendly venue - church. It's bit disappointing when the server is loud, unwelcoming, unhelpful. But i still give the Cafe a 5, for being present and offering so much! Free internet, unlimited coffee/tea, beautiful setting, quite (despite the loud server), great food. I am so surprised on how good the food is here! Price is also very reasonable. I have had meals here 5X already and everyone, from the cashier, to the helpers to the chef have such a pleasant and professional positive attitude. This is wonderful to have a cafe at the church. It's really great to dine alone or with friends while enjoying and listening to service. Good food, reasonable prices and unlimited drinks is great. I love having breakfast or lunch meetings here- tasty food, free wifi, beautiful lake view outside, attached to a large Christian gift/bookstore, very reasonable Eggs Benedict on Sundays- enjoy breakfasts, salads, burgers, pizza, frozen yogurt machine/toppings, drink refills while you read or use your laptop, takeout, speciaslty coffees- one of the better kept secrets in OC. I'll have to disagree with Dustin. It has a great atmosphere and that is the only good thing, the food was awful and over price for what it is. I go out to restaurants if the resturant can cook better then me or that I can appreciate the food like in n out, gulfstrems but it seems like it was sub bar. read more
