    Inflation BusterMenu Prices!
    Roberto S.

This place is a hidden gem for breakfast and lunch. The best bargain in town that I know of. Jose has a lot of really great food he offers on the menu. My favorites on the menu are the chorizo breakfast burrito, all American and country slam. In this highly priced world of going out to eat, Cafe Newport makes it easier in your pocket while serving quality, and fairly portioned meals. I've introduced this to many of my friends in the area and now I'm recommending to the readers. Call ahead for the order so grab and go or grab then eat in the dining room. Either way you do it, you'll be glad you made it to the best bargain cafe in town. Check out their inflation buster prices!

Club sandwich- didn't think it would be this tasty

I'm still sitting here as I write this review because I'm that shook. The pricing compared to fast food places is incredible! The quality is great and the service is wonderful. You can tell this is Jose's passion- you can literally taste it. Not gonna lie it's confusing because it seems like most people who eat here work in the same building, BUT I just happened to be in the area for a meeting and looked up lunch spots. Decided to try this one out and I do not regret it! I'll be coming back every time I have meetings here!

Coffee is nowhere near being considered good. Food is mediocre at best. I understand why there is no wait.

I needed 16 burritos for a staff meeting, where Jose & his team knocked them out.

This location is much closer to home, so I visited one afternoon when craving their cookies. The interior is modern, classy-bougie, with 4 tables and a large cushy chair. I ordered two cookies, the chocolate chip walnut and peanut butter chocolate, along with an iced horchata latte. I sat at one of the tables, opened the box my cookies were presented in, and found myself in cookie ecstasy. The cookies are fat mountains of deliciousness. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. Both were superb. The horchata latte had just enough ice to keep it cold. It had a bold flavor of cinnamon which I loved. Staff here were friendly, efficient, and speedy. I like the vibe of this place but like their cookies even more.

Absolutely incredible café, with an incredible bakery selection and stunning drinks. If this cafe…read morewas closer to me, I would come here every single day!! The space itself is absolutely stunning with lots of seating both inside and outside. The store has a lot of floral decor, which gives it a very clean and spring vibe. The standouts for me here was the banana pudding, Matcha and the array of pastries they had available. We purchased two drinks here, one of which was the banana pudding Matcha and the other was a tiramisu cold brew. The banana pudding Matcha is one of the best drinks I've ever had with a rich high-quality Matcha and fresh creamy banana pudding inside. It's basically two desserts in one, and the flavors complement each other so well. Highly highly recommend - it's viral for a reason. The tiramisu cold brew was also good, although next time I would probably opt for a latte on the bottom since the cold brew is pretty strong. The foam on top was sweet and creamy. The pastries here are absolutely stunning, and I wish I could buy the entire display case. We ended up purchasing a Dubai chocolate croissant and a plain salt bread. The Dubai chocolate croissant was very unique - on the drier side but it definitely had that crunch and flake. I wish they had a little bit more chocolate or buttery elements to balance out the dryness of the cocoa powder. The salt bread was absolutely delicious, very well-made with a chewy texture. I will 100% be back to try everything else that Bag of Cakes has to offer. Highly recommend! We visited on a weekday during the afternoon since it was spring break, and there wasn't a line, but I've heard that lines can get long. There is plenty of parking in the plaza that it's located in. Definitely check this place out!!

When they first opened, the line was out the door, long, and unbearable (I'm not good with lines),…read moreso I left after seeing how crazy slow it was moving. I returned on a different day, same thing, so I left. Fast forward to May of 2026, I happen to be in the shopping center, so I decided to check it out. No line. The pastry cases looked amazing. There were so many choices; it was really hard to decide. There were several workers, but they seemed pretty uninterested in helping. No pep in the step, no energy, no eagerness to start ANY kind of small talk. This is so crazy. If you're walking into a small bakery that needs your business, why wouldn't they make a little more effort in creating a welcoming atmosphere for people who walk in, ready to dish out the pricey price for your pastries?! It makes no sense to me unless they are being paid very little or not being trained on etiquette and customer service. Just go into any Trader Joe's for reference: their cashier service is very welcoming and kind--and they are a huge grocery chain! It's not just this small bakery, I found worse non-service at the Fountain Valley location of Paderia! That review is next. I hate giving a 2-star review. But, the actual pastries I got were stale, dry, at least a day old, not fresh, FULL-priced pastries. I've gotten better tasting day old/end of day pastries from Too Good to Go, but they were severely discounted! I'm not sure how long they will get away with charging full price for stale pastries. Even my kids said the same thing. I was like is it just me? Incredulously thinking, it can't be, and sure enough, I read the reviews, and someone else said the same thing. I get it's a tough business. It's so sad all around. They should be getting a lot more tax breaks than big corporations do (who pay no taxes and pay to rig the rules), but there are several areas of improvement that could be made that is under their control. Maybe make fewer pastries each day, train your workers, etc. The cream and custard fillings are good, but I'm not going back.
