I'm so glad that I only work 5 minutes away because I've found my new breakfast + lunch spot. It's tucked away in a business park that does require you to enter a gate to park (first 15 mins are free but you can always get 1 hour of free validation if needed). For the $5.50 breakfast burrito, you can pick between ham, sausage and bacon and it comes with a side of salsa too. It's honestly the perfect portion if you want to start your day. I've also had their $7.50 Triple Burrito which comes with all the meats and avocado, absolutely delicious too. On top of that, most of their other items (sandwiches, burritos, burgers) are all sub $10, you can't find a spot like this anymore! They also have a hot/salad bar which has various cooked meats such as chicken breast, wings, bulgogi where you can build your own plates and pay by weight. My go to place for lunch at least once a week. A very mom-and-pop vibe juxtaposed inside a modern high-rise building. I usually get the chicken salad or tuna salad on squaw bread. They give you a pickle slice on the side. Their burgers are really good and juicy. Grab lots of napkins. Their fries and onion rings are next level. Always fresh and piping hot. You won't be disappointed. Be sure to ask for their house ranch for dipping. Their hot lunch bar is fairly new but good. A mix of Korean style entries and various types of chicken (grilled, breaded, wings). Different some day and they rotate it about once a week. They charge by weight - $9.99/lb. They have breakfast until 11am(hard stop). Breakfast burrito with a choice of ham, bacon or sausage is $5.50. Very delicious but average size though still a good value. They have other breakfast choices also. They also serve smoothies but I haven't tried them. They also carry a large selection of sundry snacks like chips, drinks, candy bars. Seating is limited near their shop but because it's inside the Atrium building, there are many other sitting areas you can choose. Outside has some seating and near a fountain. I've never had a problem finding somewhere to sit. There are restrooms nearby Checkers managed by the Atrium building inside, on the ground floor. Just ask for directions. read more

I love this place. It's family owned. It's the only place in Irvine. That's like this. They're open Monday through Friday only. Walked on over on lunch from one of the surrounding office buildings, the small deli and convince store is located on the first floor of the Atrium building somewhat hidden but fairly easy to find. When approaching you will find quite a bit of indoor seating and when you walk in various choices of drinks, snacks, and a walk up ordering counter. At the counter, you will find the daily specials as well as their every day menu. I happened to stop by on a Monday so for a friend and I decided on the same the half sandwich and soup combo- Chicken noodle and a half tuna for me and a half egg salad pita for her, we both thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches and the chicken noodle soup was even homemade, it had so much flavor! We also got chili cheese fries to share which the portion was huge. Overall, it was a great choice for a quick and delicious lunch. The highlight of it all was that out the door it was $15 dollars. So reasonable to be able to eat and be full for under $20 dollars for two. Next time, I'll come back to try the salad bar! read more

Now, there's also a Subway and Quiznos down the street, so why do I choose to go to Checkers instead? Because although sometimes I prefer to fill up on the larger portions of a Subway sandwich, the sandwiches at Checkers are made with higher quality meats, cheeses, and breads, and at about half the price of a Quiznos sandwich. The owners are extremely nice and will customize your sandwich (added sprouts, cucumbers etc), free of charge. Sometimes, quality just beats quantity.... what can I say. Food is great for the price and convenience of working within walking distance. Salad bar looks fresh and well stocked. They charge $4.95 /lb. for the salad bar. Chili Fries are on par with the Hat, especially at $3.95! The chili is well seasoned and the fries they use are crinkle cut for that added texture of holding onto the chili and cheese. I don't get the glowing reviews, just being honest. This place is fine, not great. It's like every sandwich place in every corporate building in America that also sells gum and chips, and that you're fine running down to when you have a busy day on your hands and just need something basic. I had a pastrami sandwich that was light on pastrami and served on basically toast with little cheese in a foam box - I didn't think it was worth the price. And the people on the grill looked like they'd rather be doing anything else. I've also had a turkey sandwich that was good, turkey, lettuce and tomato were fresh. But the prices feel marked up for executives. IMO, it's an OK option for lunch if you work in this building, but not worth a special trip. read more
