    Chicken pad Thai, only $13!
    Cam A.

My favorite Pad Thai in Toronto, hands down. Came here for lunch and for only $13 got a massive plate of Chicken Pad Thai. It was SO YUMMY and just what I was craving. As a student, I'm always looking for cost-efficient places with big portions - I think Evergreen Thai is one of the best kept secrets on Dundas St.

Not really sure what to make of this place. Out of all the places on the street we chose this one. And we chose wrong. The washrooms were out of order for the first 10 minutes we got there; sounded like a homeless guy was loitering down there, not really sure. Then service was slow, and food really just unenjoyable. Didn't feel the cleanest of places either. Unfortunately won't be back

This is my favorite cheap Thai restaurant. It's not authentic but it's quite good! They have raised the prices over the past year probably to accommodate the increase to minimum wage. The food is made to order and quite tasty. Most of their dishes are under $12. A good bargain if you need a quick bite to eat.

Cheap, inauthentic Thai food with annoying background noises... Came here on a sunday evening, and the place was empty, most likely due to it being Canada day long weekend. We ordered the Beef Pad Sew and Shrimp Basil Fried Rice. For the pad sew, the noodles were not the authentic wide flat noodles nor were they fresh because they clumped up together. The flavors were boring and the beef was dry. Meanwhile, the fried rice was burned and overseasoned with soy sauce, pepper, and too much oil. The only saving grace was the shrimp. There was also very loud and annoying rumbling noises that came from the AC and refrigerator every few minutes that just ruined the ambiance of the place. I couldn't wait to just leave after my meal. Next, I couldn't comment much on the service since there was hardly any customers that night. Nothing but ordinary. Overall, quite a disappointing experience. I wouldn't go back here unless to order cheap take out.

This place looks a bit shabby compared to the other more popular restaurants along Dundas but I'd consider coming back here for a quick bite. Early 5PM dinner, place was basically empty. It's a rather big space with large tables. Food came out fast and hot. Chicken pad thai was nicely plated and quite a large portion. I liked the peanuts on top, there was a good amount of chicken and what I appreciated most was that I could smell the tamarind. Tastewise, I liked it, it didn't taste like ketchup sauce you get at other Thai restaurants which is far from authethic. Getting a noodle/rice dish will set you back around 12-13 dollars after tax and tip.

Stopped by for lunch during a business trip and was not disappointed. This was a great little place for a cheap lunch special that was also tasty and filling. I was a little sad that they couldn't make a vegetarian version of Massaman curry but not many people can. I had the golden tofu lunch special which also came with spring rolls, soup and salad. Yes, it comes with 3 appetizers! There was so much food, neither me nor my colleague could finish our meals. The thai iced tea was also good. As was the service, very friendly and timely.

It just okay. The prices were great. Great fast serves. We had beef and chicken dishes not a lot meat on the plate. Also had a thai soup also okay. I would not go back.

Extremely amateur food... Pad sew noodle was undercooked and rubbery... Not enough veggies and meat... Even after asking for spicy. . Everything in the dish just tasted boiled... One of the rare situations where I had to not eat the food and get out... Staff were not bothered to even enquire about the situation and bad attitude

Red curry was good. Service was fast. Not much in the way of decor or atmosphere but it's a good spot for a mid week lunch.

We ordered the tapioca dumplings, papaya fritters, beef massaman curry, nam khao, drunken noodles w chicken, mok pa, and watermelon salad. Overall I think the food was good although some items were a skip (drunken noodles and watermelon salad). For a cheaper price I've had more delicious drunken noodles, these were just fine. The watermelon salad was literally cut watermelon lol please. However, the rest of the food was really good. My top three items were the tapioca dumplings, nam khao, and beef massaman curry, in that order. I have had delicious tapioca dumplings in Madison, WI and have been chasing those item for years now and this really delivered. I love nam khao and have had various versions - this isn't the best I've had (I had a phenomenal one in Chicago) but it was still sooooo good. Beef massaman curry exceeded my (low/neutral) expectations. Service was incredible, the waitress was so nice and helpful. It is a fun decor in there as well and so much bigger than I thought it would be (tbf I didn't have a specific expectation, but it does have many rooms).

The tapioca dumplings are unlike anything I've tasted before. They serve it with a side of lettuce, mint and peanuts. I liked the dumplings better without the sides they served! The lettuce and other add ons dim the flavors of the dumplings. So I prefer just eating the dumplings straight on. The Messemen curry was so flavorful and the beef was so tender! I'm a big fan. If you're a fan of Thai curries then you'll definitely like this! The Mango purple sticky rice dessert was also really tasty! It had a tasty coconut sorbet and it all went really well together. Service was good, food came out quickly, vibes were good. No complaints here!

I would probably try the tofu option next time though as the pork belly was a bit too heavy/fatty for me. Not pictured, but we also got a lychee lime juice which was refreshing and not too sweet. It had a very natural and not artificial lychee flavor which stood out to me. Our server was also super friendly and attentive. We made a reservation for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was busy but not packed…read more I definitely recommend ordering to share rather than eating only one of something. I found the dishes to be quite heavy-handed on the seasoning (borderline too salty), so the variety helps. Panang Curry - very flavorful, slightly sweet, and very savory. Had a nice kick to it! Som Tum Tod (fried papaya salad) - ordered it because it was their signature but I thought it was too salty and crunchy. And I got kind of tired of the fried aspect of it. Wished I ordered the fresh papaya salad instead. The heat and garlic is nice though. Decently sized portion so you can share it with the whole table. Pad Woonsen Cha-Om (Minced Pork & glass noodle, egg, garlic and acacia leaves) - my first time trying this dish! It was really good! It kind of filled the role of "fried rice" to me, mellowing out all of the stronger flavours of the other dishes. Still quite flavourful on its own too. Felt like a Thai-spin on the Korean dish, Japchae. Kai Yang (grilled chicken) - oh my gosh the sauce this chicken comes with is TO DIE FOR. I want to buy it or learn how to make it. It's so fragrant, fresh, spicy, aromatic, and just the right amount of fishy and acidic. We were very full sharing these 4 dishes between 3 people. For the fact that this is Michelin Bib Gourmand, I think it is well-priced and a great place to try!

It got really sour near the end but next time I would try the papaya salad instead. For my personal main, I got the Pad Thai with no spice. It was still very flavourful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. One thing I appreciate is that the portion size is huge!! For me, this could've easily been 2, if not 3 meals.
