They really take the time to do your nails well. The shop is very comfortable and clean. Your nails look fabulous...some extra shine they use that looks better than most spas I've been to in the past. Got a mani/pedi/paraffin wax through Living Social. This is the best place I've been in the past year. I messed up the polish on one of my toes and they wiped the polish off and redid the nail. I came here for a last minute pedicure, and was excited to learn that Monday-Wednesday, you get a free manicure with the purchase of a pedicure. Overall, the experience was good. They had a movie playing, and everyone working was very friendly and helpful. They provide water or tea as well as a warm neck pillow while you're seated in a comfy massage chair. I give a 3-star rating because my pedicure wasn't what I was expecting. As embarrassing as it is, it had been a while since my last pedicure, so my feet were a little on the rough side. I have a few events coming up where I want to wear sandals, and a pedicure seemed like it would do the trick. This is a reason why people get pedicures, right? I left the spa happy and feeling relaxed, but after I returned home, I realized just how little had been done, save for a fresh coat of polish. I have never had this happen before, and I've received pedicures at a handful of different places. So if you're just looking for a relaxing foot massage and soothing atmosphere, I would definitely recommend Evans. Used a deal voucher for a spa mani/pedi here, which included a paraffin treatment. It was easy to make an appointment and the staff are all very friendly. The spa itself is super clean with minimalist decor and a spacious layout. My nail tech was very sweet and skilled. I like the extra touches, like the heated neck wrap, excellent massages, and closed-captioning on the TV, which was playing "It's Complicated." This is an intimate spot where I had taken my daughter for a special mom + daughter date, and we both enjoyed our manicures and brief shoulder massages. Such a great place! I have gone twice for no chip gel manicures, and they have been excellent. Tanya is so sweet and thorough and the polish has lasted over two weeks--the flaws only start because my nails grow so quickly. They have online booking and an array of colors. Definitely recommend. Oh, I should also note that they have a killer mani/pedi special on Mondays and Tuesdays. Very unprofessional store owner!!! I rarely write reviews, but the unprofessional behavior of the Evans store owner/manager was so upsetting for me that I decided to spend few minutes on this. I've been going to this place for 5 years. In recent years I started making appointments ahead of time as the store became more busy. Very often, even with an appointment, I had to wait 15-20 min, since the employee I choose for my mani/pedi (El) often does not finish on time with the clients she has before me. She takes her time to do a reasonable job, which is fine, but the fact is that as a client I had to wait for her sometimes as long as 20 min, despite my very busy schedule. On mother's day weekend, I arrived 6 min late to my appointment with El. She had already started with another client. The store owner/manager was there and came to tell me that I was late 6 min, which is not acceptable, and I should choose between waiting again for the employee I reserved for my manicure (El) or choose one of her other employees....REALLY? You expect your customers to sit waiting for your employees to finish with other clients as long as 20 min, and you can not accept a 6min late arrival from clients you had for 5 years?? The worse though was that she was not even apologetic! I left right away, went to another nails spa in Wilmette and had my nails done very nicely, right upon my arrival without even having an appointment. You vote with your feet! I don't live by Evanston area but I was walking by the other day and went in to get no chip manicure..they seemed busy but took me in right away even I was a walk in costumer, which was very nice! They serve very nice hot tea and very friendly workers! Got my no chip and today is the 3rd week and nothing chipped!!! Very impressed!!! I really like this place - the women there are very solicitous and offer water, a warm compress for my neck, etc. They always have junky chick flicks on as well, which is a nice touch. Wow. I called and said "I know you close at 7:30 (it was 7), but do you have time to do a half arm wax?" The person said yes so I drove eight minutes to get there and the place was dark. I called and the phone just rang. The posted hours said open til 7:30. It it 7:15 as I type this review. I've never posted a review before but this was just shitty. I like it here because its conviently off the train and the girls are always very nice. They play great movies in the salon, and can pretty much always take you if you're a walk-in. The WORST thing about this place is that they don't accept tips on the credit card. There are a lot of times I want to go here but don't have cash (and I don't like not tipping) and don't want to pay the ATM to take out cash. They would make a lot more money from me (because I would come more often) if they accepted tips on the credit card. read more

I liked Evans a lot for its initial convenience, but lately the fact that I can't add tip on my card is becoming pretty annoying. As a college student, I rarely carry cash. They suggest going across the street and taking money out of an ATM, but the machine charges a fee and is frequently broken. Other than that inconvenience, I like Evans a lot. Their no-chip manicures have held up seemingly longer than ones I've gotten at other nail salons. They're always playing a movie on the TV as well, usually a rom com. Bonus: they offer a hot neck pillow, tea or water, and a neck massage. Overall, I enjoy Evans and their manicures last. My only suggestion would be to do away with cash-only tipping... I absolutely love this place. I've been here about 3 times now and today I went in with my living social coupon and had no issues redeeming it. The staff is extremely friendly and nice and I always end up leaving feeling pampered and relaxed. I got to spend probably about one hour in the massage chair with a warm neck pillow, sipping my delicious green tea while my feet and legs got massaged with lotion, scrub and wrapped in a warm towel. I also love that they play movies on the big TV and let you relax instead of trying to make small talk with you. Even at the manicure table you can still easily watch TV. Upon finishing the manicure, the staff is always very careful and helps you move your wallet to the drying table. And if you're not fully relaxed already, the nice shoulder and back massage upon seating at the drying table will definitely do it. I can't recommend this place enough. While other salons try to charge you for all the extras, here they go out of their way to add extra pampering to your service such as hot stone massage (not sure if they still do it), warm neck pillow, etc. And if you missed the special, they're always running seasonal specials. Nobody told me there would be a wait, they just left me there waiting and apologized 30 minutes later. Loved: The massages are wonderful, they use different techniques (hot stones, hands, heated neck pads, massaging chair) and you definitely feel pampered. Great movie to watch while services are provided; choice of tea or coffee. Bare decor, clean salon and tools. Good choice of nail polish colors, including some fun funky ones. Not so good: Person doing my mom's hands put paraffin AFTER applying nail polish. A couple of nails were ruined and she had to reapply polish. Person doing my hands didn't apply nail polish correctly and I was left with some not so good looking streaks. Polish on toes was perfect which makes me wonder if it had to do with the nail polish itself. No idea but still frustrating because I can streak-polish my nails for free at home. What a lovely place. My daughter had given me a coupon to use so I made an appt. When I got there I noticed they were already having a special so I decided not to use it. Beautiful surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, comfortable chairs, GREAT massages (though would have liked it a little longer on my feet). They offered water or green tea. Rec'd a very nice mani/pedi. Novelty ~ they have a large TV, not too loud, with captions so you can read if you can't hear. Great way to see chic flicks, I'm sure. I have been to this salon around 4 times now and the service has been consistently wonderful. Today I had another mani/pedi, which was less expensive again because of their wonderful seasonal deal. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival they will hang up your coat for you and offer you a beverage (water, tea or coffee). The pedicure area is always very clean, the massaging pedicure chairs are wonderful and you get a warm heating pad to reduce tension in your shoulders. The big screen TV is nice and always playing movies. My manicure and pedicured turned out wonderfully again and I continually recommend this nail salon to all of my friends. read more

Just a little update - had my gels done on Friday and on Saturday I noticed a weird bubble on my thumb - looked like a smudge. Realized the gel hadn't completely set under the the light, and as I played with it - a big round chunk came off - eek!! I went in yesterday (Monday) and asked if I could get it repaired. The woman who fixed is (I think she is the owner or manager?) took her time, repaired the nail, and then touched up all the rest of the nails - FOR FREE!!! I should also note that I think the bubble was MY fault. I didn't turn my thumb nail up inside the little machine, and thus, it didn't dry properly. Regardless, they fixed it all for free and I LOVE them!! Also - Anna did my nails 2 times ago and she is also AWESOME!!! You seriously cannot go wrong here!! read more

Today was my first time here and it was great. I had a mani/ pedi and eyebrow wax. I had a living social for the pedi/ wax so it was a good deal. They have a great nail polish selection and the staff were really nice. They hung up my coat and asked me if I wanted water or tea. They put this warm thing that smells really good around your neck while you're getting the pedicure. They have a big screen TV and played a cute movie with Ryan Reynolds while I was in there :) I definitely felt pampered. I loved it and I will definitely be back! read more

This is a nice salon. The pedicure chairs are so comfy and its a very clean place. I do love the fact that they play rom-coms the whole day too!! My only complaint is that I started to get bubbles on my nails that same night I or my nails done. An ten chipping started 2 days later. Normally I can get a manicure to stay a little longer than 2 days. My pedi still looks great though! I used a groupon here and had no issues with that. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone! The staff is so nice and sweet, and everyone there does an excellent job. Money is tight, so when there was a misunderstanding with the online appointment I made and they were still willing to honour it, I was immensely grateful. Please make sure you bring cash to tip! Nails were uneven, had to explain to the manicurist that they were uneven but she didn't really fix them, and then I felt like I was nagging so I let them be. Staff was not very friendly. I am really disappointed that it's necessary for me to rate this nail salon so low. The actual nail services were acceptable, and the customer service was on par. Ordinarily, this would have been categorized as a three star establishment. It is unfortunate that it only takes one moment of poor judgment and utter unprofessionalism by one inappropriate employee to completely sour the entire experience. I booked an appointment for myself and my mother in law through Pretty Quick. We were both reserved for regular pedicures and no-chip manicures. For those of you that aren't familiar with the PQ platform, at the time of booking your credit card is authorized for the requested services. Once your services are completed, your card is charged for the amount of your services plus a 20% gratuity. It is supposed to be a seamless, cash-free experience. As I said before, the nail services were adequate. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave about. My nail tech was accommodating and efficient; if I knew her name I would commend her. We were offered a choice of beverage and the manicure concluded with a brief neck and shoulder massage. Once our services were concluded, our technicians simply said have a nice day and moved on to their next clients. No one walked us to the front of the salon or made any attempt to check us out at the front desk. I assumed this was because we had booked through PQ and no final checkout was required. We remained in the salon for 10-15 minutes after our services wrapped up. Each of us needed to use the restroom and then we subsequently waited for our uber to arrive. Our uber arrived and we proceed to leave the salon only to be screamed at once we crossed the threshold. "Did you pay?!", the rude woman yelled at us. She was not one of the techs that serviced us. I responded, "Yes, I booked through Pretty Quick, and my service charge and gratuity are automatically billed." "Well you need to come back inside so I can make sure.", she replied nastily screaming in front of the entire salon. This was beyond embarrassing. I, of course, re-enter the salon to deal with this but I was fuming. The nail tech that originally waited on me came over and tried to diffuse the situation. She apologized and got me properly checked out. Apparently there were some additional add-on charges totaling $10 that they were unable to tack onto my PQ bill. Okay fine, I have no problem paying that separately. But why didn't someone mention that to me in the 15 min span I sat around the front of the salon? Why didn't anyone come to the front of the salon when our services concluded, exercising basic salon etiquette, and check us out? Why am I required to be clairvoyant? I just spent $170 on the for the two of us! Did they really think I was trying to skip out on $10??!! The woman that yelled out of the salon door at us never even had the decency to apologize to us. My mother in law felt the treatment was racially charged as we are black and the majority of the salons clientele was white. I sincerely hope this was not the case. I didn't pick up on any disparate treatment prior to the final exchange, but the lack of remorse for the misunderstanding that was due to shortcomings in their service is rather unsettling. In any event, I will not be returning here. There are better places that will gladly welcome my business and not treat me like a second class citizen. Good customer service and professionalism matter. Our Mother's Day weekend was unnecessarily started on a sour note. Hopefully someone teaches that unpleasant women a thing or two about service in the near future. read more

My first time here was amazing about a year ago and I have been coming here ever since., I have started enjoying their facials and waxing too! . It's not often that you're lucky enough to find such clean and quality service. The nail technicians are nice and they do great jobs. No-chip manis last longer. My go to place! The staff is great and the place is clean and updated. Always playing a rom com. Usually don't have an issue but had a particularly unpleasant eyebrow wax here. Anastasia is phenomenal who usually does mine but she was unavailable so another woman did mine. She didn't seem to pay attention to my arch and it shows. I also walked away bleeding because of the tweeting afterwards, ouch! It was a rush job, she walked to the register while on the phone and mouthed for me to follow her. Never even showed me a mirror. I went here with a friend one time since it is close to my apartment building. First, it is extremely expensive. I understand how much nails cost, I have been getting them done every other week for years, but this was excessive. Second, after I got my gel manicure, my nail beds HURT. Like excruciating pain.
