I have been going to T-Top nails for over 20 years and when it changed to Blissful I continued. Up until today, I have been satisfied with their service but today I had the worst pedicure I have ever gotten. Kylie had been on maternity leave, so I was serviced by someone else, who used a huge nail file and was filing the skin on my toe until it was raw. I don't know if she had formal training or if she was trained on the job. The other technicians, I could tell knew she wasn't good because they kept looking at her as I had to continually tell her what to do or was flinching in pain. To top it off, the nail on my big toe was crooked. At first I just left frustrated but then returned to have it fixed because I paid and shouldn't have to be dissatisfied. So it's not a super fancy place but the ladies who work are so kind and professional. When I first inquired about the services I asked them how much was their manicure and pedicure upfront. They said $40. The services were ok although the lady doing my nails was kinda ruff with her technique. When I got ready to pay and I was also going to tip. Another woman there said, it would be $45, $5.00 extra to remove the gel on my toenails which they did not inform me over the phone in the beginning. I told them this which led to a brief argument but I said, this is what you quoted $40 and that's all you're getting. This place practices dishonesty and you can't understand them very well because they hardly speak english. Outstanding. Friendly, fast (but not too fast) and reasonably priced. It's always a bit uncomfortable for a guy to walk into a "Spa" not knowing what to expect. This was my second visit, even better than the first. Owner Kylie is charming and outgoing and my "technician" Ms. Van gave me a pedicure to crow about. Give them a visit. This place is a hidden gem. Walked in on a Sunday to just inquire about gel removal, a no chip manicure, and a pedicure and they welcomed me right in. Thieves! Be very watchful with your money. First time in this nail salon and have been living in Evanston for over 40 years. Anywho... walked into the salon urged by techicians to pick color. Ok..Upon walking in they must have noticed the little bundle of cash I had in my hand hence the rushing me..distracted sat the money on top of my bag on the table where i thought I was getting nails done. I made a remark "this should be safe here" as I just went a step to the other side of the manicure table to pick a color. They stated back, "sure, yes, safe right there". They decided to do pedicure first so with bag in hand followed lady into the other room. I didnt think anymore about the cash I had, told myself I must have thrown it into bag, will check when I get home. Long story short the bundle of cash did not come home with me. They took that money right as I went to pick my color. There was no one else in salon but the sisters that own the nail salon and a client two tables over being serviced and no one waiting. Just saying, there are a string of nail salons all over that are stealing from clients purses while they are getting nails done so never leave handbags unattended, on floors, out of your eyesight, they will take your cash etc. Oh and when the patron came over to get feet done, the water they ran for her foot bath had skin from another client and the client saw and asked them to start a new bath. Why did they not do my nails first, and hurried me into the other room. Preying on clients, distract them and steal from them. My fault for trusting them! Not only did i pay for two services and tipped, they probably got an additional 40 dollars from the money they stole. Not a trustworthy business! End of story. read more

I went to this salon because my friend got me gift certificate for my bday for a manicure and pedicure. It was honestly the worst manicure and pedicure I've ever had. The water was extremely hot and when I told her it was too hot she gave me a stank look and rolled her eyes. It was obvious that the lady was using old nail utensils (I.e toe dividers, disposable flip flops, nail file). All of my toe nails are a different length and shaped differently. When I told her, she did not fix it. She also didn't speak. She was super rude. I had initially wanted to get a no chip and pay the difference of the gift certificate, but when I saw how she painted my toes, I changed my mind and said I would just get a manicure and regular polish. I asked if they had bubblegum or bubble bath because I could t remember the name lol. She looked at me crazy. So I went to find the color myself. She painted on two coats so sloppily and then just threw on some clear nail polish on top. I honestly just packed my things and left. They were sooooo rude and the work was sloppy. I would never go back there and I will definitely be staying at my regular nail shop. Oh! Not to mention, all my finger nails were a different length and shaped differently. read more

T-Top is a place my moms friend had recommended so my grandma and I went to try it. When I walked in I saw a lot of nail polish and I didn't know if we were supposed to go back behind the counter so I walked back there and I picked my colour (purple). When she started painting my nails she did an alright job. I noticed women in the other room sitting watching movies and eating. The bathroom was not really nice. It is very small and it was dirty. It also smelled funny. I judge places by their bathrooms so this is not good. The lady did a good job on my nails so I'm not sure I'd go back. read more

Love the people and friendliness of this place. The prices are great. My biggest complaint is that every time I leave I smell like cigarette smoke for the rest of the day. As a non-smoker, the smell is highly offensive and creates breathing problems for me. If they could figure out better ventilation, I would be a weekly customer here. read more

Most precise and consistent nail shop I have ever been to. The quality is always consistent. I hate to go a nail shop and they give you an excellent manicure one visit and a sub par one the next. Lynn is professional and gives you want you want. The shop is usually so booked that you must have an appointment. You can pay a little extra and they will create a box that you can put your name on with tools that are ONLY used on you. T-top may not use the top off the line products or have a great atmosphere, but they do give an amazing mani/pedi for the price. They are so attentive to detail. The highlight however is the fact that they give a long massage with the pedi. not a quick 2 min. once over. Which you may need to keep in mind if you are in a hurry.I find their prices extremely competitive so for the price. I think cheaper lotions and equipment are worth it when my nails look great and I feel a little refreshed.I noticed they added a few specialty packages. To add to that, a little story: so wifey & I just got a pedicure and as we walk out, they started getting fussy when I pulled out my student ID for my wife and I. They would only honor it for one, which I thought was petty, but I was fine with. However, when she started to stamp the loyalty card, I asked her kindly put them on 1 card as I didn't want to have to carry two cards. Didn't have the color I wanted and I cdn't ask questions bc the woman who was working with me speaks almost no English...literally. Ended up with colors I probably wd not have selected had I been able to consult with someone. Ok pedicure and foot massage. This is in no way the fanciest nail shop in Evanston but the manicurists are the best in this town. I recently got a no chip manicure here and the application and result was better than the application I received at other salons. It's been two weeks and it shows no sign of damage. They use OPI products which get a bad rap for not having that much color selection in the no chip, but I'm very happy with it. read more

I live in Portage Park but will go to Evanston for them any time. they give a great Pedicure, they massage your feet and calfs for a long time I could just go for that. Some of the girls do not speak English great but some do they know my family and are always great to us. I also get my nails done every two weeks and my eyebrows done. Yesterday was my birthday! So I went there to get my mani/pedi...I paid $80 because I wanted some fantasy on some fingers. They gave me $10 discount because I told them it was my bday so I paid $80 instead of $90. The lady at the front desk was very nice but was ready to leave. I got my pedi by another lady who was also very kind. Then I change again for the manicure it was a guy..not nice at all, very brutal, not talkative, he did not clean or cut my nails he just added the false nails with the gel. Then when we were supposed to customize he did not follow what I wanted, he did not do the design I wanted. I told him it was not this design I wanted and he told me if you are not happy I can remove it!!! They were almost ready to close! Then when he finished I did not know he was done he just left to take another customer. No sorry, no bye!!! Never again!!! It was my birthday and I wasted my time on this salon! I have been in and out of shops throughout Evanston over the years and they didn't even remember my name after coming there for years. The ladies in this shop are some of the best spirited and most personable people I have had the pleasure of doing business with. There has never been a time I have gone into this shop and not left there feeling like I got my monies worth. From day one I have always felt like a valued customer. More importantly they have a since of true compassion. I have never just blown off my appointments with them but when I was late getting there one of the ladies suggested that my tech call me to make sure I was okay and not in the hospital.
