I live in the neighborhood and was excited for a nail salon I could walk to. The space is large and well laid out. They have a great selection of nail colors and nice big massage chairs. My pedicure was great - the technician was very conscientous. The owner came over and was very friendly and helpful. They have nail dryers and give a little 1-minute back massage while you're waiting. They show a movie on a flat screen on the wall which was nice. They offer water, tea, coffee. It was more of a "spa" experience than some of the other nice nail salons in Evanston. I will definitely be back. read more

So, I had a small hiccup with scheduling, but it didn't even make me think twice about lowering my rating because of the service I received. This place is really super. I was able to get fingers and toes done at the same time since it wasn't very busy. Everyone was very nice. They took time to help where other places wouldn't... little things like a warm aroma scented neck pillow, beverage (coffee, tea or water), glittery lotion and the movies being played made it very enjoyable. Fantastic -- what a find! I went on a Groupon, but I'd certainly go back. I had a spa manicure and pedicure with paraffin treatments on my heels and hands. Four days later, and my hands are still unbelievably soft! The polish on my fingers and toes still looks great, too. The salon is attractive, clean, and comfortable -- lovely massage pedi chairs -- and the technicians are all very friendly. They use quality products. Also, they're open Sundays. read more

All of the girls who work here are so incredibly sweet, first of all. Also, they started a cute romantic comedy for us to watch as we got pedicures and manicures, and the entire time I felt so relaxed. They do such a thorough job cleaning and scrubbing and painting my nails and toenails, which I really appreciate. I especially love the back massage I get when my nails are drying! I only went here because my regular nail shop was closed on Sunday. My finger was nipped badly with the cuticle clipper - and no antiseptic was used. My "manicure" did not consist of such. My fingers were not soaked in water to soften my cuticles. I don't like that they do not have the nail polishes for gel painted on a fake nail so that you can SEE the color. There are only bottles displayed on the walls. My nail polish looks thick at the end and she didn't know how to do a simple glitter disign. I won't be returning. read more

Best nail salon in Evanston!! Extremely clean, very friendly and helpful staff, nicely appointed salon and exceptionally clean. The extra 10 minutes of chair massage time are definitely worth it, as well. The technicians are very thorough and attentive, and selection of Essie and OPI polishes is so much easier with how well maintained the polish bottles are (perfectly sorted by shade -- a small detail that makes a huge difference). Tanya and her team are fantastic! I've had a couple of random mani-pedis done in my life (generally when my sister was visiting and talked me into it) so I thought I knew what to expect. I for sure knew that my husband, son and I were in need of serious treatment to whip our feet back into shape for vacation. We straggled in around 6pm on a Friday night and were met with smiles and welcomes. In addition to the normal things, we were truly pampered with hot neck rolls, hot towels on our legs and feet, leg and arm scrubs and massages. It was just the best mani-pedi experience! And they really treated my son like a prince. The salon is beautiful, very clean, the chairs are deluxe, and the staff are so friendly. We will be return customers to be sure! read more

I had heard about this nail salon from my friends and they said it was the best salon they have been to. So I went and got a mani and pedi and I loved it! I loved my pedi while they were doing it I felt so relaxed with the hot pillow on and drank my green tea they served me. My mani was also amazing it was perfect. The workers there are very nice and welcoming. It is also very clean and organized. I felt very comfortable there. From now on I will always get my nails done there. read more

Best nail salon in Evanston. Whenever I try another local nail salon in Evanston I'm always sorry I didn't just go to Evans. They usually give you a coupon at the end of your visit for use at another visit. The quality of tools they use is high, they are clean. Absolutely love this place. Went with a girlfriend for a special "spa" day and we had the spa pedicure. We were treated like royalty - massage, paraffin, scrubs, amazing organic lotions - the works. Very disappointing experience here. Disclaimer: this is my first Yelp review ever. I am never one to complain about service, but this experience just really bothered me. I came one day a couple weeks ago without an appointment and they turned me away saying they were too busy. I was annoyed that they didn't apologize or try at all to accommodate me, but brushed it off and made a mental note to always make an appointment here from then on. Then, 2 days ago I made a point to call over 24 hours in advance to make an appointment for a mani/pedi and eyebrow waxing. The woman on the phone was very nice and confirmed with me several times my appointment time, date, and services. The next day, I showed up for my appointment and am rudely told by the woman at the front that my appointment is not in the books. I knew I wasn't crazy and that I actually set one up, but I even double-checked the call log on my phone and made sure I called the right place... I was correct. The woman told me that in 30 minutes they would be completely full with other appointments, so they would only have time to squeeze in one of my scheduled services, and that I could come back another day to complete them. I was very upset because I had specifically set aside the time for this, left work early to get there on time, and made such a concerted point to actually make the appointment in advance so I wouldn't get screwed again. I told the woman this was ridiculous, and luckily, another woman came up and they seemed to figure out (in another language) a way to squeeze me in. So I was pleased (temporarily) at their ability to accommodate me. I went back to get my eyebrows done, the woman was clearly in a rush but I didn't complain because she already seemed very stressed/annoyed with my persistence. My eyebrows are now uneven and worse than when I arrived. HUGE waste of $12 (not including tip). I tried to move on and get in the mindset to enjoy the rest of my services. To my dismay, the woman then tells me I'm going to get my manicure and pedicure at the same time. I was a little confused but still remained positive that they could still do a good job. At this point, all of the other people with the appointments 30 minutes after mine start to arrive, and the ladies working on my hands/feet are visibly stressed and rushed. The newly arrived customers get offered hot tea, water, a hot neck pillow... all of which I was never offered once, even though I was there technically with an appointment, and paying the same good money for services. The 2 ladies working on my hands and feet did a fine job, but were very noticeably rushed and the attention to detail and calming experience that you pay for when coming to a salon was extraordinarily lacking. If I'm going to spend $35 to get my toes painted, I would prefer the experience to actually be enjoyable and not feel like they're just trying to get me over with so they can move on to their other customers. After my mani/pedi was done, they moved me to the drying area. After about 20 minutes of drying, no one came over to check on me or apply the finishing polish that they always do after you've dried. I applied the polish myself, packed up my things, gave my 2 ladies their tips, and left. Now, I know that these ladies did the best that they could to accommodate me, but as a paying customer who HAD an appointment that clearly got misplaced or messed up on their end, to have such a half-ass job done at no fault of my own was extremely disappointing. If I had showed up without an appointment and the ladies still squeezed me in, that would be a completely different story. But, I did everything I possibly could on my end to have a good experience, but left feeling like I had just wasted a great deal of money. This salon is by FAR the closest salon to where I live, but I will now go to a salon much further away just to avoid this bad service again. Very unfortunate. read more

This is the worst nail place i ever been to! The girl who did my pedicure didn't understand what i was trying to explain to her , that i want my nails to be cut short and she polished like a 2 years old would do , it is ridiculous!!!! Then she sat me at the manicure table and they start to fight to each other who will do my manicure, in the end the same lady , took the same utensils that did my pedi and started on me .......omg , who gave that place a license?????!!!! And i forgot to say that all the files and buffs , utensils were dirty .well for a mani pedi which is 45$ and they expect you to give them 10 bucks tip, i can go to a cheaper place and believe me ,they will not give me an attitude when i will ask them to use a new file on me . My worst experience, so disappointed. If you guys don't want to get a fungus or something choose not to go there, or maybe she will change the files after my review ;) read more

I decided to try this place out after reading all of the wonderful reviews and hearing about the special on Monday-Wednesday where you can get a free manicure with the purchase of a pedicure. Unfortunately, I was really let down for a variety of reasons. When I walked in I wasn't exactly welcomed with a smile or a friendly hello. The woman doing my pedicure never spoke to me to ask if everything felt okay or to see if I had any special concerns. She didn't do a great job of buffing the dead skin off of my feet and she really wasn't very good at painting toenails. She made a lot of mistakes that took her a long time to correct. I also wasn't offered a leg massage like other customers said they received. The pedicure ended up taking more than an hour, which is definitely the longest pedicure I have ever had, mostly because of how long it took her to paint my nails. After the pedicure, I was asked if I wanted a manicure too since it was free. I was a little ticked off that the free manicure wasn't brought up earlier since a number of customers after me were offered a free manicure while they got their pedicures whereas I wasn't. I was told that a manicure would take 30+ minutes and I couldn't afford to be there for that much longer so I had to decline. They then had me sit at a drying station for almost 30 mins and wrapped my toes in saran wrap and sent me on my way. Ten mins later I looked at my toes and the saran wrap had completely smudged the polish on both of my big toes! I thought about going back to have it fixed, but I didn't have another hour to kill so when I get home I repainted my nails with my own Essie polish. All in all, I was not a fan of this place and REALLY wish I could get my money back. For $35 I expect to have much nicer treatment and have something to show for my money for more than 10 mins. I've come here three times in the past 3 months. Each time for a no-chip mani and a regular pedi. My first trip there, I was very impressed. Their prices are on the high side, but the service was wonderful. They took their time and did a quality job. The second time I came in, I was pleased with the service but my "no-chip" manicure started chipping within three days. I chalked it up to having a different manicurist, and since I liked the place so much the first time I decided to give it another shot. However, this third time will be the last time I come here for manicures. The manicurist I had this time was the same person I had the first time. She was very distracted and rushed. She kept leaving to take care of other people and did not do a thorough job on my nails. I was in the salon for over 90 minutes this time too. And now, 4 days later my manicure is chipping. I wish I could get the same experience I had that first time I walked into the salon, but this place is not reliable for consistent quality service! read more

I am really surprised by all these great reviews.... Just came here for the first time and will not be returning despite the convenient location. Came here for a pedicure, went surprisingly quick...so quick, in fact, that after the light/fan turned off after just 2-3 min of drying, they sent me home. I told them, "um, I've only been here for one round or a couple min of drying." They still started painting some finishing polish on, touched them, and then wrapped them in plastic wrap as I squeezed my feet into my flats. Really weird experience I thought to myself, but it being my first time here, thought maybe they were known for quick dry or something. Sure enough, upon getting home 5 min later, they were ruined. I called them immediately to express my frustration, came back (all within 10 min mind you), and they all just look up in silence like I was a stranger -- no apologies, no offer for a refund or certificate, nothing. These guys are idiots... I will never stray from serenity nails (by the Davis stop) ever again. How can they (serenity) get such up and down reviews when I've never had one bad experience there, yet this place receives all positive reviews??? I've never written a review before on yelp but this experience pissed me off so much, I just had to. Hope this helps you all! read more
