I'm excited to write a review for this place because it's the best salon in Wilmette! I've been coming here for 6+ years and LOVE it. It truly has a spa feel. I have always loved the manis and pedis that I have received and the staff is so friendly. I would recommend making an appointment though, they are very popular :) One of the best parts...they play movies! I get so into them and end up leaving wanting to know the end. I have had a terrible experience at this place before but gave it another chance recently and it wasn't so bad, so I made the mistake of planning my daughter's birthday party at Forever Young. The owner asked us to arrive at 5:30 but they had a full house at that time. There were 7 girls and they started on 2 girls at 5:53, while the other nail technicians took new customers. The owner started a manicure on a patron who arrived after us. They had 5 technicians there for our party and only 2 worked on the girls. Poor quality, slow and expensive. Dazzle dry manicure took an hour, mostly due to three techs taking turns doing parts of the service. in the end, the quality was poor and two nails chipped the same day. while it appears to be the most expensive in Wilmette, my cuticles were left dry, nail edges chipping and the overall experience rather unsatisfactory. read more

They got me in right away, removed my dip manicure (not all places do this!) and did a meticulous job on a regular manicure. Very happy!

I have gone here a bunch because this is THE BEST nail salon on the north shore, hands down (haha!). The staff is extremely professional - and my nails are always perfect; it does not matter which tech you see...every manicurist is excellent! It is very clean and perfect and even luxurious. The pedi chairs are the best! They massage on lots of settings and feel cushy and relaxing. There is always a sweet love story-type film playing, which makes everyone happy and calm. Jaime, who runs the store, is a lovely person with very high standards. You are greeted with smiles and hellos and always made to feel welcome. The salon is very busy. Forever Young Nails is a great spot to get your nails done on the Northshore. Sophia, Stella and Jenna were so fantastic at our nails. The massage is the best addition to the manicure. Ive been going here for years- I brought all my bridesmaids in before my wedding, the team was incredibly kind and welcoming. There are many covid precautions in place, too, so we all felt very safe! We were so excited to get a pedicure now that our favorite salon is open! They were so careful and we felt so safe. They take your temperature when you walk in the door and also have to sanitize your hands. There is clear acrylic partitions between each chair. The employees all wore the medical masks and face shields. They lined the soaking tubs with a disposable liner that is thrown away after every pedicure. It could not have been any cleaner or safer. As someone that loves indulging whenever I'm able, I do enjoy coming to this nail salon in Wilmette. I've been to Girlfriends in Winnetka, which is great if you have a small child but not for a teen or adult. This salon has treated me well every time I've come-in. The staff is friendly, and the massages are pretty good. Nail color lasts for the duration expected with a mani, pedi, and gel. What I LOVE most about this salon: OPI and ESSIE collections are always up-to-date AND they have this awesome wax they dip your hand (mani) and ball of foot (pedi) in that truly feels like it's soothing your skin. Every time the woman peels it off, I feel like my skin breathes a sigh of relief. Maybe that's a little dramatic, but it's such a great feeling especially when your hands and feet are feeling rather dry due to the weather. Just give them a try. They're much better than what these "two-star" yelp reviews give them credit for, I promise. The prices are totally average and right on par with other salons I've been too. They DO NOT let you tip on credit, so make sure you bring cash. read more

I was a walkin at Forever Young Nails. It was a very pleasant experience. The nail salon is very clean and they had Downton Abbey playing on a couple big screens with closed captions. I had never had the parafin wax and found that very helpful for my hands. In fact, I am going to check Amazon to see if they sell that machine. Also, MIchelle did a very nice job on my nails. One of the top most nightmarish manicure experiences of my life. Highly regret walking in, wasting my time and money. I asked for a rose gold no chip color, and the color handed to me was light pink. I told her I wanted glitter on top but she spoke NO English and had absolutely no clue what I was talking about.. adding glitter should have been a very simple request, as well as the color I asked for. But I literally could not communicate with this woman. She soaked my hands in acetone in order to remove my old no chip, which was disgusting, left cuticle pieces all over my hands and arms (which she rubbed into the lotion she applied, even more disgusting), didn't soak my cuticles before pushing them back/removing them, and my day was totally ruined. There was something sketchy going on with the register when I paid, but I don't remember exactly what, as I pushed as much as I could out of my mind. I am shocked such a terrible business is open in downtown Wilmette. read more

This is the WORST nail salon I have ever been too. I live a couple blocks away and have given them many chances. The women that work there are always rude and not helpful. I've never walked out before a salon service until today. I went to have what I thought was a relaxing birthday spa mani & pedi and instead received an awful experience. I picked out my nail color and proceeded to sit in the available chair. The water was ice cold in the tub and when the lady asked me if it was too hot I kindly said that it was freezing. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. I should've gotten up then, but was patient. She then drained the tub and asked again, I dipped my toes in and again- ice cold. She again rolled her eyes and threw up her arms like what am I supposed to do? I kindly suggested that it was broken and there were many chairs open... she then said well and rolled her eyes AGAIN. Not to mention the chair was broken as well. I quickly got up and told her she was awful. Unbelievable. My weekly visit will be to another salon. I never got my mani pedi- I walked out. You wouldn't change the ice coldwater. It was 5 degrees outside. Will never be back and will let everyone know how awful your salon is. read more

I visited the salon a few weeks ago, and was happy to see good practices in place. As another reviewer mentioned, they take your temperature and have shields in place. No hot wax or neck massages for now, but we need to forgo that for obvious reasons. The staff all had COVID-19 safety training certificates on display and wore double masks and face shields. Another change that was helpful was to add labels to the nail polishes on display with the color names - much easier to read and don't have to touch many of them to make a selection if looking for a specific color. I thought that finally I had found the perfect place! Amy rocks, she takes her time and covers the whole nail! Unfortunately I witnessed what some of the other customers did, they wanted to reuse the metal utensils on me! I'm pregnant! As soon as I realized I let them know and asked for a clean set! They started talking in their native language and looked at me like I was crazy for asking to please be careful! No apologies, nothing! It is like going to a restaurant and getting serve on a dirty plate! I pay $80 for their service which is not cheap! I even showed them before one of the reviews posted here, it is obvious that the manager does not care and does not train their employees properly! They should buy more utensils sets enough to use clean ones on each customer! I will not be back! Please make sure the don't do this to you next time! read more

Worst nail experience I've ever had. They kicked us out 10 minutes before they were even closed and my nails weren't dry, then locked the doors immediately after we left. Keep in mind we made an appointment and came in at that exact time. Not even 15 minutes later I was washing my hands and my two thumbs smudged half way down my nails, so now I only have half of each of my thumbs painted. This is $20 completely down the drain. I usually go to forever young and they have great service and my nails look awesome. However, I just went this morning and I'm pretty sure there is a new owner. My nails did not look as good as I would've liked. Some were not fully covered and the nails unevenly painted and filed. The job looked sloppy. There were smudges even before I went to go dry them and it looked like there wasn't a lot of work put into the job. It was not worth $45 for mani + pedi. read more

i feel like i cheated on my regular spot, but i was in the area and NEEDED a pedicure fast! i was also having some neck/back issues and was told i could receive a 15 min. massage for $20, SOLD! the salon is clean and comfortable with a traditional/chic style. their was a large flat screen playing Diana Krall in concert, it was nice. Heather was my technician and she was sweet, gentle and very quiet. i did not feel rushed even tho they were very busy. their pedi at $33 is a bit more than i usaully pay but it was worth it! you get a nice foot & leg massage as well as hot oil on your heels while they paint your nails. on to the massage: i had asked a woman who had just received a massage how it was...she said average. i went ahead anyways. heather was also my masues and as gentle as she was on my nails...this was not the case for my massage. i honeslty didnt think she was strong enough to provide me with what i needed, I WAS WRONG! she even pin pointed the area of my shoulder/neck that was giving me grief and concentrated on the area. for what i paid it was amazing! read more
