I have been an every two week customer of Stylist April for the past almost 6 years. About 6 weeks…read moreago April went on maternity leave and passed my standing every two week appointments to her colleague Ina. April assured me that all of my remaining appointments for 2026 were in the "book". Today, I arrived for my normal appointment and was advised that Ina was on vacation and that neither Ina nor anyone else had bothered to either call me or re-schedule me with another stylist. Also, the receptionist was completely useless. instead of trying to solve the problem by seeing if another stylist was available, or scheduling me for another time, she just kept babbling "its not my fault". I think this is pretty shabby treatment after 6 years as an every two week customer. I'm shopping for a new salon and will never return to Scissors Edge. I would think that Shelly, the owner would offer a comment, but total radio silence.

I have been a customer of Evoke Salon and Spa and love how my hair looks when I leave every time!…read more I have had Lina as my person to style my hair for years and she does a fantastic job with my highlights and haircut and blow outs. For years people stop me on the street asking who cuts and styles my hair and so it is reflected in her work. I have send many people to the salon and they still are happy with the results. It is a fun place to be joking with the stylists, talking Italian with Salvo or Mary telling her latest stories while in the chairs next to you If you need a stylist who will do a great job and knows her skills, then run to Evoke Salon!

Award winning or not, do not put yourself in Estelle's hands. She loses focus and causes damage…read more Ironically, Estelle rescued me from Irena's terrible haircut in April, 2023. She rolled her eyes at how uneven it was. Then she did harm herself. I haven't forgotten how you made me feel, Estelle. I've given this the time and perspective since Feb to finally write this review. It's been 5 long months since you disrespected my wishes to grow out my hair by cutting off more than 2 inches in a 3.5-month period. That set me back 4 months of growing time and my hair was shorter than in November of the previous year. She was supposed to cut 1/2 inch. She showed me the amount, I agreed, but then she lost her focus and got scissor happy. Estelle, to say "I'm sorry you're unhappy with the length" is not an apology. You can't apologize for someone's reaction to your mistake. You can only apologize for your mistake. "I am sorry I cut off too much" is an apology. But that's too close to the truth for you to face. I tried to have an in-person conversation with her, but she dismissed me, texting "I cannot have further discussion at this time" and hid behind a platitude that "I take great pride in my work and always strive to make my clients happy". Estelle, get some emotional intelligence. You made a mistake, did not take responsibility, and caused me pain. You got to go on with life while I felt attacked. Despite your veil of "great pride" you are only as competent as your last satisfied customer. After 5 months I am still recovering, I still remember how badly you made me feel. But now I have a stylist who actually listens and respects my wishes.

The woman who cut my child's hair did it in 15 minutes, which would be cool if the haircut had been…read moreany good. It looked pretty terrible and when I got home I noticed spots where she missed hair. I had to go and trim my child's hair at home. If the woman said, "Sorry, I never cut hair before" I would have believed her. This place is cash only, which I wasn't prepared for. So I had to pay an extra fee at their ATM. Not the end of the world, but when I stepped into the vestibule to get payment, the woman gave my child candy without asking if it was okay. It wasn't. When I stepped back in to pay, the woman had walked away from the counter and never returned, leaving me to just leave cash there. Just cut your child's hair at home even if you have no skills. You'll save yourself time and money.

On my first visit to metamorphosis, Julie gave me a great haircut for my long curly hair. I'm very…read moresatisfied with her service. The rating is based on the rudeness of the staff when I called the next day to report that I had been overcharged. There was a discrepancy between their verbal quote when I made the appointment, based on the length and thickness of my hair, which is what the stylist herself actually charged for the cut, versus what they ended up charging me. Seems like they padded the stylist's price by $10. Pam was rude on the phone when I called to report the error and asked for a refund. She continually talked over me and refused to listen. I asked her politely to take a moment and listen, and she said she didn't have time. "We can't be on the phone discussing this back and forth" she said. Most places would own their mistake in favor of retaining a new client. Metamorphosis clearly doesn't care. This is a personal services organization with low emotional intelligence. I don't do business with disrespectful people, and I will not go back.
