I started going to Lavender Nail Spa in Evanston, IL during the summer of 2025. I had gone to a nail salon in Winnetka, IL that had ruined my nails and I needed help. Bella (nail tech) assured me that she could get my nails back to perfection and she did meet her objective! I have received great no-chip manicures, pedicures and a fantastic milk and honey spa pedicure. I went and got a regular pedicure and gel manicure there yesterday. I am in so much pain now, they used some sort of drilling technique that at the time made one cuticle bleed and sting with the liquid they put on, and today my finger nails all ache so much and I'm terrified how they may have damaged them. I really really wish I had taken the negative review I had seen here previously seriously. During the manicure, they painted my nails all streaky instead of solid color and I had to tell them that was wrong and then they swapped out who was doing the manicure but I don't know why I needed to say this. They claim my last gel/drilling was done wrong and that was the problem, but I haven't gotten gel in years nor had this drilling process before so the only way that could have been it is if they damaged them during the drilling. The final product looks good but I regret going here so much given the pain. I had tried to pick someone with reviews online Mia, but I honestly don't know if that is the person who helped me at all, they had someone doing my toes while someone else started on my fingers. The manicure was also in no way a relaxing process, there was no hand soaking or massage or lotion. I know they also offer a Russian manicure but that's not what I ordered but it seems maybe that's what they do with any manicure? Update: After on and off pain for weeks I went to another nail salon to have the gel removed, stressing to them to be gentle because I believed there was damage. The technician who worked on me was incredibly upset when she saw what was done to my nails. She explained there were are both a significant amount of dents and "rings of fire" that there was absolutely no way the person at Lavender couldn't have seen they were injuring me and she was shocked a professional would do this to another human being. She called her manager to look at my fingers and she was also very disturbed by the extent of damage done to me. They told me I couldn't paint my nails again (even with regular or dazzle polish, they do not recommend gel again) for at least three weeks, and it appears that the damage will take at least 6 months to fully disappear. That they didn't try to upsell me a manicure when I was there because they knew it was that bad says a lot! My nails all hurt constantly, making doing dishes or opening a can of soda very difficult. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. I have been to Lavender Nails a few times and each time the quality gets worse and worse. My nails still hurt after my last appointment and feel like they are about to fall off. The nail technician made me bleed with and afterwards my nails turned blue. Their products and techniques completely destroyed and damaged my nails. Additionally, it takes them over two hours just to remove a polish. They are extremely overpriced too and will not listen to your requests. I highly reccommend choosing another place. read more

I went in and got in the foot bath and they accidentally spray water all over my flip flops and they are now stained-they did not say sorry. She took 2 and a half hours for just regular mani peti, she did not do 2 coats of nail polish on my toes and they are streaky, and for my fingers I had to ask her to do three after she asked her co worker if she should do another coat and they said no, even tho my nails were not opaque at all. read more

I went to Lavender for the first time today and I was impressed. It is impeccably clean and organized, and the atmosphere was calm and soothing. This may seem like a strange comment, but one thing I really appreciated was that it did not have the suffocating, chemically smell that a lot of salons have. My mani/pedi turned out great. The owners are sisters and I enjoyed talking to them. Overall, a good experience and I'd recommend it. read more
